Request - Can I request reader is amazed at the northern lights in Montana and readers like " it's beautiful " and Kayce's like " sure " but he's not looking at the sky but her and it's just so cute.

You had to drive almost two hours north, but Kayce finally pulled into the cabin the two of you rented for the weekend. It was about twenty minutes north of Missoula and quaint. Stepping out, you saw that there were still a few hours until it would be the best time to view the Northern Lights in Montana.
You had never seen them, and once Kayce heard this about you, suddenly you were in his truck and headed north. Kayce and you had only been dating for a few months, and while you were head over heels, you weren't sure about how your cowboy thought.
Sure, Kayce cared for you, treated you well and respected you. But those three silly words had yet to be said by either of you. And you hated how afraid you were to say them to him. You had never been scared before with other boyfriends you had thought were the one, so why was Kayce absolutely terrifying?
"You see something?" Kayce asked you.
His voice brought you back to reality and you realized you had been staring off into the woods for who know how long. Looking over your shoulder you saw Kayce had brought everything inside the cabin and was watching you from the bottom of the stairs leading up to the front door.
"No, sorry," You shook your head and walked over to him. "Just thinking too hard I guess."
"About what?" Kayce asked.
"Uh...you I guess?" You giggled.
"What about me?" Kayce smirked.
"Just that I'm happy you brought me here," You smiled up at him.
Kayce seemed to have a knowing glint in his eye, but he nodded his head at you.
"Hungry?"
"Starving," You walked around him and up the stairs. "I'll start on the sides if you wanna get the grill up and running?"
The two of you made a nice supper of grilled steaks, scalloped potatoes, lemon pepper green beans, and cornbread. There was a back porch to the cabin with a small table and chairs where you both settled back. You were in the process of telling Kayce and how Beth visited you at your office earlier this week.
"And then..." You trailed off with a giggle. "She told this one guy in the office that hers was bigger and badder!"
Kayce snorted as you laughed, remembering the guy's face as Beth walked off to take you to coffee.
"Sorry if she caused you any trouble," Kayce said.
"Oh, no," You shook your head. "He's an ass...I found it quite refreshing to hear and see him actually be put in his place."
"How is he an ass?" Kayce eyed your curiously.
"Oh, he's just a man," You rolled your eyes, taking a sip of the wine Kayce had brought though you suspected John had given it to him. "The worst kind of man."
"He bother you?" Kayce asked.
You blinked and looked over at Kayce. His shoulders were a little tense as his golden eyes watched you carefully.
"I can handle him," You smiled. "But thank you."
You were used to having a boyfriend care that someone didn't harass you, but with Kayce it was different. He almost seemed like it you were respected to the highest standard, then he'd kill a guy or something. You knew the rumors of him and his family, you knew what they were capable of, so you tried to always diffuse situations before Kayce really did take matter into his own hands.
"Ready for the lights?" Kayce asked.
The two of you picked up your supper and climbed back into Kayce's truck. He drove a few minutes up into the mountains until there was a small clearing off to the side of the dirt road you were on.
"How do you know where to go?" You asked as Kayce parked the truck and turned off the engine. "Take a lot of girlfriends up here?"
"Never brought anyone up here," Kayce said and got out. "But my dad and brothers came here once a long time ago."
You felt your cheeks warm up a little bit as you slide form his truck. You followed Kayce over to the edge where the view was probably breath taking during the daylight. Right now, you could just see the outline of the range and a million stars starting to come out.
There was a boulder jetting out that had a flat space, perfect for viewing. The two of you sat down close to each other and waited. You looked over at Kayce's profile while he rubbed your thigh soothingly. You knew anything 'family' was shaky territory.
"Thanks for including me with this place then," You said softly.
"Why wouldn't I?" Kayce turned to look at you. "You're my favorite person."
"I am?" You're not sure why you asked it like that, but the words tumbled out of your mouth before you knew what you were really saying.
"Yes?" Kayce looked at you like you had two heads before he glanced over in front of you both. "Look."
Your eyes widened as you saw streaks of green and yellow developing over the sky, almost eclipsing the stars as they winded on top of the trees. There were flecks of light purple and blues throughout them and you were amazed.
"Woah," You whispered.
"Pretty amazing, huh?" Kayce asked you, nudging your shoulder with his.
You reached up and wrapped your arms around his arm, leaning your cheek on his shoulder as you took in the sight before you.
"It's beautiful," You sighed.
"Sure," Kayce said, his eyes focused on you.
You glanced up at him and was thankful for the darkness to help hide your deep blush. You squeezed his arm as you looked back out at the lights.
You felt Kayce's lips press a kiss to your forehead as his fingers dug into your jeans.
"I love you."
It was soft and quiet, almost like it was supposed to be said just that way, in this exact moment. It didn't feel rushed or forced, it was perfect to your ears.
You turned your head, your nose hitting Kayce's in the process until you could see his eyes looking into yours. The past few months, the worrying, the over analyzing, and the self-doubting all disappeared from your mind.
"I love you," You whispered back, hoping everything you felt could be transferred to Kayce.
He leaned forward, his lips meeting yours and answering your question. Suddenly the Northern Lights weren't the best thing about the evening anymore.
