"I don't get why you would drag me here," Jamal shook his head, handing the man behind the counter his money, "you know what horror movies do to a man."
"Yeah," y/n nodded, sarcastically, "a man." The guy handed Jamal a ticket and the teens entered the theater, going straight for the snack counter.
"A small popcorn, please," y/n smiled to the blonde girl working, she nodded in response.
Jamal held up his pointer finger, "Make that a large." The girl gave him a questioning look, looking at y/n for confirmation. She nodded, giving Jamal the eye. After they got their popcorn, the two found their theater and sat closer to the back so they could talk without bothering people.
Y/n handed Jamal the bag of popcorn, pulling out her phone. When she scrolled through her notifications, a disappointed look appeared on her face. Jamal looked over, watching as she locked her phone.
"Still no answer?" He questioned and the girl shook her head. She shoved her phone back into her pocket, "Nope."
"Maybe his phone's dead," Jamal shrugged.
"For the past five days?"
"Maybe it broke."
"Yeah," y/n sighed, not interested in talking about it, "maybe."
After the movie and Jamal's crying in the bathroom for ten minutes, y/n dropped him off home. She parked out front, turning the car off, "Here."
"I don't get how I'm getting any sleep tonight."
"Shut up," she chuckled, "It wasn't even that scary, you big baby."
"To you!" Jamal ran a hand over his face, looking over at her. She was checking her phone again for the hundredth time tonight.
"He's gonna text you eventually," Jamal said, trying to cheer her up.
"I just don't get what I even did wrong, you know?" She questioned, putting her phone down on her lap, "Have you ever had a girlfriend, Jamal?"
"Nope," he shook his head, "this man rides solo. Bitches be bonkers."
When y/n raised her eyebrow at him, he whimpered, "I'm just kidding, I'm extremely lonely.

"Wow," Olivia shook her head, scrolling through her sister's, "what a dickhead."
"I know right," y/n agreed, taking the phone, "like sorry I kissed you and you weren't ready for it? I'll plan it out more throughly next time, give you a schedule."
"So, you're not gonna answer him?"
"Nope," y/n shook her head, "I don't see a point."
Olivia nodded her head, standing up from her sister's bed, "We should go upstairs. Monse's been left with Jasmine for too long." The two headed upstairs, seeing Jamal and Ruby sitting on the living room.
"Hey," y/n greeted. Jamal looked over his shoulder, waving but stopped when Olivia waved back.
Y/n whispered to her sister, "Does anyone else know that you kissed Cesar?"
"Nope, just you," Olivia replied, opening her bedroom door to see Jasmine using her perfume.
She snatched it out of the girl's hands, "I didn't say you could use that!"
Jasmine shrugged, "Girlfriends are supposed to let each other borrow each other's things."
When the doorbell rang, y/n rushed out the room, not wanting to be apart of any conversation involving Jasmine. She pushed Ruby out of the way, placing her hand on the knob before opening it. At the door was Oscar, a stern look on his face.
Y/n groaned, beginning to close the door but Oscar held his hand out, pushing it back open, "Someone shot one of the homies, is Cesar here?"
"Nope," y/n answered, "bye now."
She attempted to close the door again, only for Oscar to force it open, "Well he's not answering the phone." In the distance, loud police sirens began ringing.
Jamal yelled from the couch, "Cesar doesn't have a phone! It broke."
Oscar nodded his head, looking from the boy to y/n, "Aight, I'll go. Tell Cesar I'm looking for him."
"Whatever," y/n sighed, slightly disappointed, before closing the door.
"Bad breakup?" Ruby asked, a fake pout on his face, causing y/n to flip him off. Suddenly the door opened again, Oscar slamming it shut behind him.
"This is a mandatory lockdown!" The police car outside stated, "Everyone must remain in doors until further notice."
"You've got to be fucking kidding me."
