I just need to say. When I started this book I thought it would be about 15 chapters long. Then when we got to 15 I thought maybe 20. Now I'm pretty sure this will be more than 30 chapters long, if not longer.

After getting permission from both of the Smith parents Kai, Cole, Lloyd and Brad set off for town.
Thankfully it wasn't too far of a walk from the castle so they didn't have to make even more of a scene then they were already making just being there.
Of course they were met with an absurd amount of love and praise and even the occasional gift.
But Kai did ask for people to please leave them alone today so, for the most part, they were left alone.
Most of the day was spent with Kai and Cole following Lloyd and Brad while they ran around the whole goddamn city.
Soon though, the sun began to set and it was time to go back to the castle.
They were walking through the city streets chatting away happily.
"-And them I was like 'bam, bam, bam!' and I knocked him down!" Lloyd said finishing a dramatic retelling of one of his sword training sessions.
"Sounds like quite the battle buddy. You'll be a great fighter one day. You know, once you can actually wield a real sword." Kai said with a chuckle.
"I'll be able to soon!" Lloyd insisted. "Mom says I'm almost old enough!"
"I believe you. You've gotten so big and strong, I almost can't believe it!" Kai said picking up Lloyd and spinning him around.
Lloyd scent radiated happiness as Kai set him back down.
They continued there walk back to the castle before Kai noticed something out of the corner of his eye.
Someone with bright blue hair...
Lurking just outside an alleyway...
Kai stopped the other three from moving.
He recognized the bright blue hair as a comment trait for the Hypnobri division of the Serpentine kingdom.
Kai took a deep breath.
"Cole," he said in a whisper, "I need you to get the boys out of here."
Cole shot him a confused look.
"Why? What's happening." He asked, also whispering.
"I'll explain later. I just really need you to bring the boys back to the castle."
Cole nodded and led the boys to the other side of the street and then rushed them down the path to the castle.
Once they were out of sight the person turned.
"You're smarter than you look little prince." They hissed out.
Kai didn't respond.
He just stood there. Readying for the person to attack.
"What? You're not going to respond? Don't you have manners?~"
The hissing voice was starting to get on his nerves.
"Get the fuck out of my kingdom." Kai said darkly.
The Hypnobri solider smirked.
"And what are you going to do if I don't?~"
They were clearly an overconfident alpha who didn't believe omegas could fight.
They were about to be very, very, wrong.
Kai quickly drew his sword and did a quick slash, managing to pierce their arm and make them stumble back.
"Where the fuck did you get that?!" They said trying desperately to compose themselves.
Kai had gotten a custom made sheth to blend in with his outfit. It was really only for emergencies. So he could catch people off guard.
It was merely a bonus that it freaked out those who believe omegas can't fight that he has a sword. And that he was very good with said sword.
The Hypnobri solider unsheathed their own sword.
The empty street was then filled with the sound of clashing metals.
They dueled in a truly epic fashion that the author unfortunately cannot describe, because author is incapable of writing fight scenes.
Author truly wishes she could write fight scenes because they are awesome, but author does not have the skill for that.
Author is not good at action.
Author cannot write the fight scene itself, but author shall attempt a bit of action.
Kai dodged out of the way of an oncoming strike causing his opponent to stumble.
He used that as an opportunity to strike.
He focused all his strength and kicked the soldier in their side, which flung them into a building.
They slid down to the ground and Kai's legs gave out under him.
He kept a close eye on the soldier but they didn't move.
Kai sheathed his sword and got up.
He moved to the soldier and check their pulse.
They were still alive. Good.
He hadn't wanted to kill them.
The Hypnobri division were basically spys.
They gathered information and relayed it back to the home base.
So Kai hoped this soldier had useful information.
Maybe they could use it to figure out what it was that the Serpentine were planning.
Kai lifted the soldier and started walking back to castle.
He was going to have them put in the dungeons and interrogated.
They were here for reason, and Kai wanted to know what that reason was.
Finally he made it back to the castle.
Guards ran up to him.
"Your majesty! Are you alright?" One asked him
"When the others returned without you we feared something bad had happen." Said another.
"Your majesty, who is that?" Another asked, pointing to the person he was currently carrying on his back.
"A Hypnobri soldier." He answered simply.
"I would like them taken to the dungeons and interrogated for information." He ordered.
"Yes your majesty." The guards said in unison.
The soldier was removed from his back and carried off.
He walked into the castle and set off to find Cole and the boys.
Finally he found them in Lloyd room.
Lloyd and Brad were playing with some wooden horses and Cole was sitting by the door staring at a book.
Kai pushed the door the rest of the way open and Cole's head turned towards the door quicker than Kai thought was normal.
Cole dropped the book and smiled relieved.
He ran over to the door and hugged Kai close.
"I was so worried. What happened?" He asked quietly.
"There was someone from the Serpentine kingdom. I didn't want you or Lloyd and Brad getting caught up in the fight."
"You fought them?!" Cole exclaimed.
"Yes, but don't worry. I'm fine." Kai said reassuringly.
There were footsteps in the hallway.
They turned to look and it was a guard.
The guard cleared his throat and spoke.
"The Duke of Darklys has returned for his son."
Kai nodded and dismissed him.
The guard walked away.
"Brad," Kai called. "Your father is back. Time to go."
Brad groaned but moved to follow the older two out.
Kai attempted to move but suddenly his leg collapsed.
"AH!" He exclaimed in pain.
He looked down at the part of his leg his hands had started holding instinctively.
His hands were covered in blood, and his pants were soaked with it.
"When did that happen?" He questioned faintly.
"Did you walk all the way here like that?!" Cole asked worriedly.
"I... I think so. It must've happened when I kicked the soldier." He concluded.
"I thought I felt something touch my leg." He said laughing weakly.
"You need to get that checked out. We should get you to the infirmary."
"Yeah, okay." Kai agreed.
"Just get Skyler to bring Brad out to his father." Kai requested.
Cole picked up Kai and walked to Skyler's room with Brad and got her to bring Brad out to the courtyard.
"I'm really tired." Kai said on the way to the infirmary.
"I'll bet you are. How about you just take a nap. You need the rest."
"Okay." Kai said softly before drifting off.

Cole watched Kai drift off shortly before they arrived at the infirmary.
The doctor asked quite a lot of questions which Cole answered best he could.
"Well," the doctor began, "it seems like he mostly just overexerted himself. The blood loss wasn't too bad. I've patched up his leg, so just keep him off it for a week or so and he should be good as new."
"Thank you sir." Cole said lifting Kai again.
"Just doing my job." The doctor said.
And then Cole left.
He walked back to their room in the mostly dark castle and then laid Kai on the bed.
He removed Kai's accessories and clothing up until the shirt and pants.
He wasn't going to touch those.
But he had removed enough for Kai to be able to sleep comfortably.
Cole got changed and laid down next to Kai.
And maybe, he snuggled up against Kai's back and pressed his face into Kai's hair.
And maybe he wrapped his arms around Kai's waist for comfort because he just needed the reassurance that Kai was okay.
And maybe he would just blame it on him moving around in his sleep.
And maybe... Just maybe... Kai was half awake when he did that.
And maybe... Just maybe... Kai didn't mind.
And maybe, just maybe, it was the best feeling in the world right now.
And definitely, they were both oblivious idiots, who were both way too in love with each other to see the other's feelings.
And maybe... That makes for a better story.

To make up for my late update last time, I wrote an extra 500 words for this chapter.
This was kind of difficult to write though, just cause I was super tired.
I didn't even get to bed until after 2am.
And I sleep in the same room as my sister who has the most annoying snore known to man.
And right as I was finally almost asleep, my mom woke me up cause she needed me to do something.
And then I was awake again so I had to lay back down and listen to my sister's absurdly annoying snores until I fell asleep.
So I probably didn't fall asleep until like nearly 4am. And I get up at about 8:30am.
So I am very tired.
