THE FIRST THING Beck did when she got home was give Luka a bath.

He was mostly accepting of it. He sat in the warm water, watching Beck wash and cut his greasy hair. He actually enjoyed it.

Now the two were in Beck's room. The small blonde had a towel draped over Luka's head, rubbing out the extra water from his hair as he sat on her bed. When Beck pulled the towel away, Luka looked up at her with a silly grin, his now cut blond hair falling in his eyes.

"There, better," Beck smiled as she tossed the towel into her hamper.

"Better," Luka repeated as he pulled at the flannel shirt Beck had given him. On his legs was a baggy pair of jeans that belonged to Stilinski while he wore a t-shirt and flannel shirt Beck had stolen from Stiles. The new clothes felt foreign to Luka, who picked at the fabrics.

"You'll get used to it," Beck giggled as she watched Luka.

Luka nodded his head once before turning to the pile of his old clothes. He grabbed his pants, peering into the pockets. "Matilda?" He called, panicking slightly when he couldn't find the familiar.

"She's right here Luka," Beck said soothingly, holding up an old shoe box. She handed Luka the box. It was filled with old pieces of fabric.

"Matilda?" Luka called again. Squeaking, Matilda popped her head out of the little clothes, looking up at Luka expectantly. "Matilda."

The mouse squeaked again, rubbing at her face before disappearing back into the fabrics.

Placing the box next to him, Luka looked up at Beck as she began to run her fingers through his hair. Inspecting the haircut she gave him.

"Snip snip?" Luka murmured, making a scissors motion with his fingers.

"No, I think it's good for now," Beck hummed, shaking her head. "Hey, you need to eat," the small blonde instructed, gesturing down to the plate full of food sitting on her bed before leaving to clean the bathroom.

It was his second serving.

Luka smiled, grabbing the plate before shoveling its contents into his mouth. Even though it was only a sandwich and some fruit, it was a hell of a lot better than what was served at Eichen.

Aristotle released a meow as he jumped onto Luka's lap, rubbing his head on the older witch's chest. Instantly, Luka placed the plate down to start scratching the cat's head.

"Pretty kitty," he murmured as Aristotle draped himself across Luka's lap, enjoying the head-scratching he was receiving. Matilda released an angry squeak from her box at the loud purring Aristotle was releasing. Luka reached into the box, scratching Matilda's head to calm her. "My familiar."

Beck cleaned the small mess she and Luka had made in the bathroom, picking up discarded bottles and trying to mop up the puddles of water. Releasing a breath, Beck pulled some hair behind her ear as she glanced around. That was as good as it was gonna get.

She switched off the light when she heard what sounded like a door closing from downstairs.

Beck froze in her place, eyes widening slightly. It couldn't be Stilinski, he was working the night shift to cover for the teenagers' forced release of Lydia and Luka at Eichen House. And Stiles was most likely staying by Lydia's side till he was positive she was okay.

Slipping off her booties, Beck tiptoed slowly to her room, stepping over the boards she knew would release a squeak. Once she reached her room, she shut the door quietly behind her as she flipped off the lights.

At the sudden darkness, Luka looked up at the lights before looking at his sister. In response, Beck pressed a finger to her lips. Luka repeated the motion.

Creeping across the room, Beck grabbed her phone off her desk before returning to the closed door. Her fingers moved on autopilot, calling the first person she could think of.

"Hey, Beck, what's wrong?" Stiles's voice questioned from the phone.

"Please tell me you just arrived home. And that your phone is on silent." Beck whispered as she listened through the wood of the door. She hadn't heard a phone ring when she started the call and Stiles never understood the concept of putting his phone on silent. So that wasn't good.

"No, I'm still at the clinic with Scott and Lydia," Stiles answered. "Why?"

"I think someone's in the house," Beck whispered, looking over at Luka. The older witch still sat on her bed, one hand holding his sandwich as the other scratched Aristotle's head. "Stiles, I don't think we're alone."

"What?" Stiles screeched. Another voice said words unheard from the other end of the line. Most likely Scott. "Beck, just hold on, me and Scott are on our way. Just hold on."

"Stiles, hurry," she begged before he hung up.

"Ada?" Luka murmured, making the small blonde turn to look at him.

"Everything's gonna be okay," Beck said, forcing a smile on her face. Thinking quickly, Beck walked towards Luka before grabbing his hand. "We're just gonna play a game, okay?"

"Game?"

"Yeah, a game." Beck pulled Luka towards her closet, opening the door. "It's kinda like hide and seek, okay? You are gonna hide in here and stay extra super quiet."

"Find me?" Luka murmured as Beck lowered him to sit on the floor of her closet. Instantly, Aristotle jumped into Luka's open lap.

"No," Beck breathed, turning back to her bed. She grabbed the shoe box with Matilda inside and a picture frame. "This is a selective version of hide and seek." She placed the box next to Luka and held out the picture frame to him. It was the group photo from the night of the spring formal, the one where everyone in the pack was acting ridiculous and carefree. "You see these people? If one of them finds you, then the game's over and you can come out. But if someone that's not in this photo finds you then I want you to scream and fight back. Use your powers if you have to. Just don't let them take you out of this spot till either I or someone from this picture comes. Got it?"

Luka nodded his head slowly as he studied the picture, his finger poking at each member of the pack's face.

Looking at Aristotle, Beck's tone turned serious. "You keep an eye on him," she ordered, earning a meow in response. Forcing another smile, Beck closed the closet door.

Slowly, Beck opened her bedroom door. She peered out into the dark hallway. Once the coast was clear, she began to creep down the hall before hesitating. She reached into Stiles's room, grabbing the baseball bat he kept next to his door.

Once armed, the small blonde slowly crept down the stairs, avoiding the steps that would make a sound as she moved. Her light green eyes traveled over the dark living room, not seeing or feeling anyone. She kept her eyes peeled as she slowly moved to the kitchen.

Beck was starting to feel ridiculous when she entered the empty kitchen. But she knew she heard something. Checking the back door, Beck released a breath as she lowered the bat.

She turned on her heels to head back upstairs when she released a shriek. Standing in front of her was a tall lanky figure with curly blond hair.

"Carter?" Beck hissed, pressing a hand over her heart. "What the hell are you doing here? How did you get in?"

"I just wanted to check on you," Carter shrugged awkwardly, waving a small hand in hello.

"So, you broke into my house?" Beck questioned as she slowly walked away from Carter, keeping her eyes on him at the same time.

Carter shrugged his shoulders, walking in the opposite direction. They seemed to circle each other in the kitchen.

"You do know whose house this is right?" Beck continued to question as she narrowed her eyes at him. "This is the sheriff's house. You broke into the sheriff's house."

"I wouldn't say I broke in," Carter cringed, his hand scratching at the back of his neck.

"Well, I sure as hell didn't invite you in," Beck hissed as she shook her head. "You need to get out. Get out before I call-"

"The cops?" A voice rang out from behind Beck, making the small blonde spin around. Slowly creeping in from the shadows stood a man that Beck vaguely recognized. "You wouldn't do that," he smirked as he stared Beck down.

"You," Beck whispered as she pointed a finger at the stranger, backing away from him and Carter. "I know you from somewhere. Where do I know you from?" Suddenly, realization hit her as she looked up at his face. "You're the guy that bumped into me at Sinema. Your... your Jonathan, right?"

"Nice to see you again," he smirked as he entered the circle the three of them created.

Beck looked from Jonathan to Carter and back, noticing how Carter kept his head lowered and hand scratching the back of his neck.

"You two know each other..." Beck trailed off as she gestured between the two.

"I'm guessing little Carter never mentioned his big brother, but why would he," Jonathan smirked as he grabbed a fist full of Carter's curly hair, tugging his head around before releasing.

"Jonathan," Carter hissed, glaring up at his older brother. "I had this."

"Obviously," Jonathan growled, gesturing to Beck as she slowly lifted her bat. "All you've managed to do is slip stupid notes in her locker. We came to do a job, not make friends with the witch."

Beck's eyes widened as she looked up at Jonathan, recognizing his voice. "You," she hissed, earning a smirk from the older man as he looked at Beck. "You attacked me at school. You're a witch hunter." She looked over at Carter, her face turning to shock at the guilty look Carter had as he looked to the ground. "Both of you."

Carter looked apologetically up at Beck, taking a step forward. "Beck, I'm-"

"Stay away from me!" Beck shouted, lifting the bat as Jonathan slapped the back of Carter's head.

"Were you really about to apologize to her? She's a witch you dumbass."

Carter cringed as he rubbed the back of his head, stepping away from his brother. Sneering, Jonathan looked up at Beck as she held her bat up. He couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of the small blonde. Slowly, he began to approach Beck who quickly tried to back away from him.

"Jonathan, we can't," Carter cried out in panic. "What about the werewolves? They'll come after us once they know she's gone. They'll kill us."

"The little witch's wolves are busy with other matters. Am I right?" Jonathan purred as he glared down at Beck.

"It doesn't matter," Beck hissed, shifting on her feet. "They're on their way right now."

Jonathan ground his teeth before lunging. Releasing a gasp, Beck swung her bat at his head. The tall man blocked with his arm before yanking the bat out of her hands.

Defenseless, Beck backed away quickly before bumping into the kitchen counter. Lifting her hand, Beck shouted, "Exter-"

Moving quickly, Jonathan swung Beck's bat, hitting her in the head. The small blonde released a scream as she fell to the ground, a harsh pain exploding in her head. Shaky breaths passing through her lips, Beck struggled to her hands and knees.

Slowly, she looked up at Jonathan as he towered over her. His lips curled into a smirk as he brought the bat down on her head again.

BECK RELEASED A groan as her eyes slowly fluttered open. Her head was pounding with pain as she shifted. She tried to bring her hand to her temple, the source of the pounding, but she couldn't move either one of her arms. Beck tried to speak, but only muffled words sounded through the tape over her mouth.

Memories of being in this familiar position rose as Beck tried to pull at her wrists. Her eyes moved in and out of focus as she slowly glanced around herself, trying to figure out what was happening.

She was leaning on... no, tied to a wooden pole. Her arms were wrapped around the pole, tied behind her. Her sweater was gone, leaving her in only her sports bra and jeans. Tape covered her mouth. At her feet were piles of logs and sticks, covering her feet and legs.

Beck finally managed to focus her eyes. She recognized her surroundings. How could she not? It was the preserve.

"Good, the witch is awake," Jonathan smirked as Beck focused on him. He had his arms crossed over his chest as he smirked, two sets of jerry cans sitting next to him. Around him were three sets of SUVs and around five other men, all watching Beck with sick smirks.

Stepping forward, Carter looked up at Beck worriedly. "Did you have to hit her so hard?"

"Why do you care?" Jonathan snapped, looking down at his little brother. "She's gonna die anyway.  To get rid of a witch you gotta burn the body.  That's the only way to rid the world of the demonic evil that are witches."

Soft cheers echoed from the other men as Carter shifted on his feet, his dark eyes darting to the ground.

Beck pulled at her ropes, muffled screams coming from the tape covering her mouth. They were gonna kill her. They were gonna burn her alive.

Suddenly, headlights flashed as another SUV emerged from the preserve. Beck screamed harder as she pulled to get free.

"Don't get your hopes up," Jonathan sneered, reading her mind. "She definitely won't help you."

But Beck still tried to wiggle free as the SUV pulled up next to the others.

Jonathan approached the passenger's door, opening it before extending his hand inside. The passenger placed her hand in his, allowing him to help her out. Beck watched as the two approached, her eyes widening in horror when she recognized the woman.

"Surprised?" Mrs. Price asked as she looked up at Beck. She turned to Jonathan, patting a hand against his cheek. "Good job son."

Beck's light green eyes widened as she looked from Mrs. Price to Jonathan to Carter and back. Her social worker, a witch hunter. Her friend, a witch hunter and the son of her social worker.

"Mother," Carter muttered as he stepped closer to Mrs. Price.

"Shut up," she hissed, glaring down at her other son. Carter jumped, his eyes returning to the ground. "If you weren't so weak and incompetent then we would have had this finished weeks ago."

"But the werewolves," Carter murmured.

"Are none of our concern," Mrs. Price snapped again, before glaring up at Beck. "Our job is to rid the world of the demonic evil that are witches. Not worry about a bunch of slobbering dogs."

"But they care about her," Carter murmured, daring to look up at his mother. "She lives with the town's sheriff. Killing her won't go unnoticed."

"It seems little Carter here has grown attached," Jonathan sneered as he looked over the group. Everyone else released a series of chuckles as Carter ducked his head again.

"Enough," Mrs. Price growled, making everyone go silent. Slowly, Mrs. Price approached Beck, stopping short as she glared down at the young witch. Reaching forward, Mrs. Price ripped the tap off of Beck's face, earning a yelp. "You've been gone for quite some time, Rebecca. Where did you go?"

Glaring up at her social worker, Beck shook her head.

"You couldn't have been hiding by yourself. There are others, aren't there? Where are they?"

"How-how do you know there are more?" Carter stuttered as he looked up at his mother.

"Because witches are just like the werewolves that plague this horrible excuse of a town. They're pack animals. They have to group together to survive. And she was gone for too long to be alone. So, Rebecca, tell me, where are the other witches? Where is your coven?"

"Go to hell," Beck growled, glaring at Mrs. Price. "All of you can go to hell. Murdering innocent witches."

"No witch is innocent," Mrs. Price snapped, her blue eyes narrowing at Beck. "You are all filthy devil worshipers that deserve to die at the stake. You may have everyone else fooled into believing your innocence, but you will not fool us. We know the truth of your darkness and crimes against God." Releasing a breath after her outburst, Mrs. Price brushed her hands against her jacket before leveling a stern glare at Beck. "Now, tell us where the others are."

"Never," the small blonde hissed. "Afflicto."

But nothing happened.

Mrs. Price smirked. "Try as many of your spells and incantations as you wish, they won't work. Not with that necklace on."

Beck's eyes widened as she looked down. Sure enough around her neck hung a foreign chain, a large red gemstone hanging from it. With everything happening, Beck didn't even notice how weak she was feeling. She just assumed it was from her head. But it seemed whatever that necklace was, it was blocking her magic.

Huffing, Mrs. Price turned to her sons. "Did you find anything in the house?"

"No-nothing," Carter stuttered with a quick shake of his head. His dark eyes darted towards Beck before looking back up at his mother.

Beck almost released a sigh of relief at that. They didn't find Luka. That meant he was safe. And her grimoires were at the loft, safe with the coven.

Mrs. Price glared at Carter before turning to Jonathan.

"There was nothing else in the house Mother. Just an annoying cat." He growled, holding up a hand with claw marks scattered across it.

Good boy Aristotle, Beck thought as she smirked at the injuries her familiar caused.

Releasing a huff, Mrs. Price glared at Beck before turning to her sons. "Continue questioning her. Find out where the others are. Then... burn the witch."

Both Price boys nodded their heads as their mother returned to her car, driving away.

Smirking, Jonathan approached Beck as she began to pull at her ropes again. He stopped mere feet from the small blonde.

"Where are the others?"

"Fuck you," she spat before receiving a slap to the face. Her already pounding head released another burst of pain as the other witch hunters gave a cheer.

"Where are the others?"

"Go fuck yourself," Beck growled, earning another slap to the face. The small blonde released a groan as the pain in her head grew.

"Where are the other witches?" Jonathan growled, his patience wearing thin.

Groaning, Beck glared up at him. "Fuck off." Gasping, Beck almost fell to the side from the hit if she wasn't tied to the wooden pole.

"Jonathan," Carter called worriedly, watching his brother raise his hand to hit the small blonde again.

"Shove it, Carter," Jonathan growled before returning to Beck. "Where are they?"

"Up your ass!" Beck shouted.

She braced herself for the hit, but Jonathan stopped himself when a loud noise sounded. It was like music to the small blonde's ears, a noise she had heard all her life.

"Werewolves," one of the witch hunters gasped as the howl continued to echo around them.

"LIAM!!" Beck screamed at the top of her lungs, making the hunters jump. She knew it was them, they were looking for her. "Liam! Scott! Help me!"

"Get the cans," Jonathan shouted over Beck's screams for help, pointing to one of his men. "We gotta get this over with before they arrive."

"Liam, help me!" Beck continued to scream as two witch hunters approached with the jerry cans. "Liam! Scott!" The two hunters began pouring the gasoline on Beck, making the small blonde cough from the smell and the liquid falling into her mouth. "Help me!" She spat the gasoline out.

"Shut her up!"

"HELP!!"

Jonathan stomped forward, slapping his hand across Beck's face to quiet her. "Shut up, witch!" He yelled.

Beck blinked up at Jonathan, till the sound of intense panting broke the silence around them. Slowly, the group of witch hunters turned, finding a boy with glowing golden eyes staring them down at the edge of the clearing. Rage danced across his face as his glowing eyes focused on the small blonde tied to the wooden pole and the man that had just slapped her.

"Liam," Beck whimpered at the sight of the beta.

Hearing her pained and terrified voice, Liam began to growl. He stepped forward, ready to attack.

"Stay back," Jonathan ordered, pulling out a lighter. He flicked it on, holding the lighter out next to Beck. The small blonde tried to cower away from the open flame as it danced dangerously close to her.

At the sight of the lighter, Liam stopped but his growl deepened.

"Liam," Beck whimpered again, light green eyes looking towards the beta desperately.

"Drop it!" A deep voice growled as its owner moved into the clearing. Scott glared at the witch hunters as his blood-red eyes flashed.

"I would choose your words more carefully if I were you," Jonathan taunted, faking dropping the lighter. Scott and Liam lurched forward just as Jonathan tightened his grip on his lighter. Jonathan couldn't help but chuckle at the fact they bought his fakeout.

"Let her go," Scott growled.

"The witch deserves to burn."

"You hurt her, and I will personally break every bone in your body. Starting with that hand." Liam growled as he approached slowly.

"Jonathan, just let her go," Carter begged, looking up at his brother desperately.

"Shut up Carter!" Jonathan shouted, glaring at his little brother before turning back to the two werewolves. "I'm gonna do what we came here to do."

Suddenly, a growl sounded from behind Jonathan. A hand snatched the lighter from his hand before turning him around. Jonathan looked down in shock as Malia swung her fist, punching him square in the jaw. He flew back, hitting one of the SUVs with a thump.

Jonathan stumbled to his feet as Scott and Liam rushed forward, attacking the hunters in their way. Malia pulled at the ropes securing Beck when a hunter rushed her.

"Malia!" Beck gasped as the werecoyote was forced away from her. She pulled at the weakened ropes but couldn't pull free. All the small blonde could do was watch as Scott, Malia, and Liam fought the witch hunters.

Suddenly, the ropes holding Beck were cut off from behind. She watched in shock as she was freed when a hand grabbed her arm, pulling her desperately away.

"C'mon, we gotta go," Carter breathed, pulling Beck away. Instantly, Beck released a scream pulling her arm out of Carter's grip. "Beck please, we gotta get you out of here," Carter begged, trying to pull the small blonde with him.

"Let go of me!" The small blonde screamed, stumbling to the ground as she fought Carter.

Carter tried to grab Beck again when a growl appeared from behind him. Turning, both looked up as Liam stood behind the young witch hunter, his fang barred as he stared Carter down.

"Liam?" Beck breathed.

Moving his golden yellow eyes to Beck, Liam growled a single word. "Run."

Beck nodded her head, stumbling up to her feet before running to the preserve. The small blonde sprinted as quickly and as far as she could go before stumbling and tripping. Her head was spinning from the pain ripping through it.

Stumbling to her feet, Beck glanced around. Her eyes landed on a fallen tree, its log giving cover.

Beck stumbled to the tree, crawling under the log. She laid on her side, tears falling down her face as she tried to calm down. The small blonde listened to the sounds of the preserve at night, occasionally being interrupted by gunfire and roars.

Closing her eyes, Beck covered her mouth with her hand as she tried to steady her heartbeat. It was beating out of control.

She was almost burned alive. She was almost killed,

A shiver ripped down the girl's back as a cold breeze drifted through the preserve.

Suddenly, footsteps echoed towards the small blonde's ears. They were quick and approached her hiding spot. Beck bit her lips as she listened, hoping they didn't belong to one of the witch hunters.

Slowly, the footsteps stopped near the tree hiding Beck, forcing the small blonde to shut her eyes in fear.

"Beck?" A voice called out softly, making Beck release a sob of relief.

Beck slowly crawled out from under her hiding spot, her light green eyes landing on the person's back. "Liam."

Turning, Liam looked at Beck in relief. Beck choked out a sob, running to Liam. The beta caught the blonde in a tight hug as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Oh, thank God," Liam breathed as Beck released a sob into his shoulder.

"Liam," the small blonde sobbed. "Liam, I..."

Liam quickly shushed Beck as he ran a hand through her hair. "It's okay, I got you. It's okay now."

Nodding her head, Beck tightened her grip around Liam's neck. Holding on to him like a lifeline.

Slowly, Liam pulled away from Beck, his blue eyes searching her for any physical injuries. "Are you okay?" He whispered, brushing a hand against her cheek.

The cheek where Jonathan had slapped her.

Beck only shook her head, her body shivering from the cold. When he noticed the shiver, Liam instantly pulled off his jacket, draping it around the shoulders of the small blonde. Once he was sure she was okay, Liam pressed his lips against her forehead before pulling her close in another hug.

"You're in pain," Liam whispered as he felt the pain from her head. He pulled back, pressing a hand to her cheek as he took away her pain.

Beck let out a sigh of relief as the pounding in her head gradually dissipated. Blinking up at the beta, Beck tilted her head into the palm of his hand. "When did you learn to take away pain?" She whispered.

But Liam only shook his head as he wrapped an arm around Beck's shoulder. "It doesn't matter. Let's get you back to the others."

Beck nodded her head as she let Liam lead her back through the preserve. All the way to the clearing. The only difference was that most of the SUVs looked trashed, the pole was snapped in half, and Stiles's trusty jeep was there. Four bodies sat beside one of the SUVs, their arms tied behind them.

Stiles, Scott, and Malia all stood by the jeep, their eyes instantly looking up as Beck and Liam approached.

"Beck," Stiles sighed as he rushed towards the small blonde.  He pulled her out of Liam's arms, giving her a tight hug. "Next time I say hold on, can you please just listen to me," he grumbled into her hair before pulling away.

Beck only gave him a sad smile. Stiles then held out a sweater, the one she had been wearing earlier that he had found.

Grateful, Beck took back her sweater before looking at the rest of the pack. Malia approached next, giving her cousin a side hug. Beck returned the hug before looking up at Scott. Scott moved forward, pulling the small blonde into a hug.

"I'm sorry I didn't do anything to prevent this from happening," Scott whispered as he pulled away, looking down at Beck sadly.

"It's okay Scott," Beck muttered, giving a small shake of her head.

"No, it's not, Beck. You almost died."

"And it's not your fault, Scott," Beck whispered, looking up into Scott's puppy dog brown eyes. "It's no one's fault."

Slowly, Scott nodded his head as Liam returned to Beck's side, wrapping his arm around her waist.

"Luka?" The small blonde asked in concern, looking up at the seniors in front of her.

"He's fine," Scott answered. "He's with Tessa at my house." Scott then looked over at his best friend. "Stiles, you take Beck to my house while the-"

"I'm staying with Beck," Liam interrupted, not looking up at his alpha.

Scott opened his mouth to argue but stopped when he noticed how Beck was clinging to Liam's side.  Liam stared down at her, a protective look on his face as he held her close. Scott had seen the look on Liam's face so many times when it concerned Beck.  Now he understood the full lengths Liam would go to be there for her.

She needed him as much as Liam needed to be with her.

So Scott nodded his head in agreement. "Malia, you and I will search the preserve for the last three witch hunters."

"I'll call my Dad to catch him up," Stiles said, waving his phone in the air. Scott nodded his head in agreement as Liam started leading Beck to the jeep.

Suddenly Beck stopped, looking over at Scott and Stiles. "My social worker."

"What?"

"My social worker, Mrs. Price, she's their leader. She's Carter and Jonathan's mom. She's a witch hunter."

Stiles looked over at Scott with wide eyes before turning back to Beck. "I'll tell my Dad," he said, earning a nod from Beck.

Liam helped Beck climb into the back of the jeep as Stiles called Stilinski. She rested her head on Liam's shoulder, curling into his side as he held her close. Once Stiles climbed into the jeep, he looked in the rearview mirror at the two sophomores. Beck had her eyes closed as she curled into Liam, the beta holding her close. The two mirroring Stiles and Lydia's positions from earlier.

Releasing a breath, Stiles started his jeep as Malia and Scott disappeared back into the preserve to start their search.

BY THE TIME Stiles reached the McCall residence, the sun had already started to rise.

Liam helped walk Beck to the front door as it was thrown open by Melissa.

"Oh, baby," Melissa gasped, pulling the small blonde into her chest. Beck released a sniffle as the concerned mother ran a hand through her hair. "You reek of gasoline," she snapped, pulling away enough to look the small blonde over.

"She was almost burned alive," Stiles muttered from behind the two women.

Melissa shot him a glare before pulling Beck into the house. "Come on. Let's get you upstairs." She instructed, ushering the small blonde to the stairs.

"Ada!" Luka called from the living room, seeing the blonde move across the foyer by Melissa. He jumped to his feet to rush over to her, but Tessa jumped up too, stopping him.

"Luka wait," Tessa said softly, trying to hold the taller boy back as he fought to reach his sister. "Wait. Let's give Beck some space for a moment. Okay?"

"Wait?" Luka murmured, looking down at the freckle-faced girl before looking back to the foyer. Instead of his little sister, Luka saw Liam and Stiles enter. Stiles was scratching at his head as the blue-eyed beta looked towards the stairs, fighting his own urge to go check on Beck.

"AND YOU SAY he hit you in the head?" Melissa questioned, flashing her flashlight into the small blonde's light green eyes.

Beck nodded her head slowly as she shifted in her seat on the edge of the bathtub. "Twice," she murmured. "With a baseball bat."

Melissa released a hum as she lowered her flashlight, looking at the small blonde. "Well," she said, turning the light off. "You might have a concussion." Beck nodded her head. "We're just gonna have to keep an eye on you for a couple of hours, okay?" Another nod from Beck. "Anything else sweetheart?"

"Can I take a shower?" Beck muttered, pulling at her jeans that stuck to her like a second skin.

"Of course, sweetheart," Melissa sighed, watching Beck with motherly concern. "I'll go find some clean clothes for you to change into, okay?"

Beck nodded her head again, prompting the mother to step out of the bathroom. She stood at the closed door, listening as water hissed out of the shower faucet. Knowing Beck would need a moment to herself, Melissa went to her room to find some clothes for the younger girl.

Once she had some gathered, Melissa knocked on the closed door. When there was no answer, the nurse began to slowly open the door. "Beck? Baby, I found some clothes for you."

Melissa stepped into the bathroom, but there was no response from the small blonde. Biting her lip, Melissa placed the fresh clothes on the counter when she heard a sob from the shower.

"Beck?" Melissa called as she approached the shower. When she heard another sob, Melissa pulled back the shower curtain.

Beck sat on the floor of the shower, her knees pulled to her chest as the hot water pounded down from the faucet. The sound of the running water just covered the sound of her crying.

"Oh baby," Melissa gasped as she shut the shower off. Grabbing a towel, Melissa wrapped it around Beck's shoulders before pulling the small girl into her arms. "It's okay, baby, I got you."

"I want my mom," Beck choked out between sobs as Melissa held her tightly, brushing her damp blonde hair out of her face.

"I know baby," Melissa hushed as she rocked their bodies, trying to calm Beck. "I know."
