HEAVEN AND BACK.
"What did you do to Vince to make him not show up?"
Chishiya shrugged, taking the TV controller off the desk. "I didn't even do anything. I mean, I planned on just making some bullshit lie about family matters so that he wouldn't be able to go."
You turned to him, waiting for him to continue. However, he only turned on the TV and flipped through several channels. It took a few channels before he stopped. It was the news, live.
"Tennis fans are greatly upset with the news that the rising tennis star, Vince Caspian has been found dead early this afternoon." The news reporter stood outside of the police station. "He was found in someone else's hotel room in a puddle of blood."
Beside you, Chishiya seemed almost as surprised as you did.
"The only lead that police have found is a letter carved on his throat. Right beside it, the killer had cut out a chunk of flesh in the shape of a heart." A photo of police carrying the body appeared on the screen. "Other than that single clue that the killer left, the police don't have a lot to work with. The perpetrator has left no other leads. They do however, believe that there is an incredibly slim chance of it being his supposed girlfriend. Y/n."
You froze. You could feel your body stiffen, and it was almost like time stopped. Blank, your mind went completely blank.
An arm wrapped around your waist and pulled you. "Hey it's okay. I'm sure it isn't you. They're insane for even thinking you'd do that."
You clenched your hand. There was no other thought in your head other than 'why?'
Was this a set up by him? Could all of the things leading up to this just bring you down with him?
Knock. Knock. Knock.
"Fuck." You muttered.
Chishiya removed his hand on your waist and walked to the door.
Click.
"Hello sir, I believe this is Y/n's room. You are..?" A male in a stoic voice asked your friend.
The doctor stayed at the door. "Chishiya. What do you need, officer?"
"I need to see Y/n."
You took a deep breath and stood up. "What do you need, officer?"
"You're going to be interrogated as a suspect that killed Vince Caspian." The much taller male adjusted his posture. "We need to be on our way right now. If you don't cooperate, the investigators will have higher suspicions."
After patting your pocket to make sure your phone was with you, you waved bye to Chishiya. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow then."
"Mhm." Your friend's expression was much more stoic than you were used to, but you tried to brush it off.
