"Um Excuse me?!" I questioned as I pulled the blankets off of him. "Were you going to tell me it is your birthday?" He groaned and covered his eyes from the light. Pedri had texted me earlier that morning to tell me that it was his birthday and asked me if I wanted to go out to dinner with them. "RISE AND SHINE!!!" I said as I rolled him off the bed and onto the floor. He sat up and rubbed his eyes. I smiled at his messy hair and tired eyes.
I walked into my bathroom and put on some clothes. I didn't really know what I was going to do for the day until dinner, but I assumed that Gavi would have things to do. I was mid eyeliner when he knocked on the door of the bathroom. He walked in and eyed me up and down. "I want you to come with me today. We started at my youth sports team, then we got to my parents, and lastly the dinner with Pedri." He said to me while looking at me in the mirror. I turned around and smiled at him. He just pretended to celebrate and walked out to grab his things.

He left me standing there realizing that I was going to meet his parents, but it didn't matter because we weren't dating....right? I put on a mini flowy sundress that I think complimented my body perfectly. It was a pretty shade of blue and I felt really pretty in it. It was just enough, but not too much. I was slightly shaking as I finished my makeup. I was really excited, but really nervous. He brought me out of my thoughts by standing in the door while smiling at me. I glanced back over at myself one more time before turning the lights off and walking out.
We walked down the stairs and I waved goodbye to my family. My mom actually gave Gavi a hug. I knew she liked him and our new found Friendship. We made our way to the car and I stuck my hand in my purse and let my fingers trace over the little silk bag that held his present.

Gavi's POV
"Gavi?" My former coach screamed as she ran across the field to me. I hugged her back and she just cried. After a long hug I pulled back and her eyes fell to Jules. "Who is this pretty lady?" She asked as she pushed past me and looked her up and down. "This is a friend of mine." I responded and I could feel my cheeks starting to heat up. She turned around and looked at me with a disgusted face. "Your...... Friend?" She looked at me and I could feel her eyes burning holes in the side of my head. We both just nodded.
She did not like that answer because she grabbed us both by the hands and started to guide us around. She showed her where I first kicked a football, where I won my first game, and where my locker used to be. I know Jules was a little overwhelmed, but she put on a happy face and followed her around. She even added in on the conversation.
We had been there for a while and I signaled to my former coach that it was time to leave. After a lot of hugs, we started to make our way out. Jules had actually walked out the door and I was on my way to follow her when she grabbed my hand. "I see the way you look at her. Make her more than a friend before it is too late." She looked dead into my eyes as she spoke. I nodded and smiled at her one more time before walking out the door to catch up to Jules.
"Oh my gosh" Jules breathed out the second her butt hit the seat. "I am sorry. She is a lot, but she is the reason I am where I am." I looked over at her. "If it is too much then I can take you home while I am with my parents." She met my eyes, "there is no place I would rather be today." We held eye contact for a good amount of time. I nodded and started the car. Here we go!!!!

I glanced over at her as she looked up at my house in awe. I could see my mom from the window on the door. When we both saw her, she stepped closer to me and I felt her hand slip into mine. It is small , warm, and fits perfectly in mine. I looked down at her to see her eyes as wide as saucers. I squeezed her hand to comfort her.
"OMG ARE YOU JULES?!?!?!?!" My mom screamed at us. She ran past me and hugged her. I smiled at first, but I saw that she was uncomfortable, so I pulled my mom off of her. She gave me a thankful look. We walked further into the house and once again she got nervous when she saw my whole extended family. When we got into the sight of everyone, they all cocked their heads to look at us. I could see what was going to happen and I made sure to stop everyone from trampling us.
Instead of everyone running up to us, I walked Jules around to meet my family. "How long have you been together?" My sister asked us and her hand in mine suddenly became apparent to everyone in the room. "Umm.." I chuckled as she let go. "We are just friends." I could almost hear the eyeroll in the room when I said friend. I missed the feeling of her hand in mine, but I couldn't grab it at the moment.
"Lunch" My said to all of us as she walked into the room and broke the tension that had formed. Everyone instantly forgot about what had just happened and they walked into the dining room. After everyone had left the room, I turned to her. "If this is too much we can leave." I whispered as I grabbed her hand again. She looked up at me with those beautiful blue eyes and guided me into the dining room. I sat down at the table. I cautiously did it too and everyone started to pass around the food.
Luckily no one mentioned our relationship status for the rest of the night. instead they included her in and acted as if she was family, not an outsider posing as family. We were mid way through dinner and Jules excused herself and I could tell something was off. I just let her go, but I had a weird feeling in my stomach the whole time she was gone.
After a while I decided to go find her. I looked all over the house, but still she was nowhere to be found. I started to freak out a little bit. I picked up the pace as I looked all over the house again. I was running around when I heard crying from the guest bedroom. I burst through the door and saw her balled up on the bed, crying. "Oh my god" I was kind of startled. I walked over and crawled onto the bed next to her. "Your family is nice and welcoming and mine is broken." She sobbed. I pulled her closer to me and pet her head. "You're okay. You're okay. You're okay. You're okay." I whispered to her as she slowly calmed down.
_
I heard some whispering and I fluttered my eyes open. When I saw what was happening they shot open and I wanted to sit up, but I didn't want to wake Jules. We must have fallen asleep while she was calming down. She was pressed her back up to my chest. I had one hand around her stomach and the other hand lightly rubbing her outer, upper thigh. I loved feeling her soft, delicate skin against the tips of my fingers. Now, my aunts, my grandma, and my mom were all standing in the doorway with dumb smiles on their faces. I moved the hair out of her face to wake her up. She woke up and they started to giggle. I could see her cheeks go a perfect shade of rosy pink. Luckily, they walked off after a second, leaving us there alone and in shock. "I am sorry! I didn't mean to fall asleep" She looked up at me and I just smiled at her.
We walked downstairs to the family and sat down on the couch as gifts were brought to me. I looked over in the corner of the room to see the ladies standing there, gossiping. I just looked down at her to see the same rosey color came back when she noticed them too. I scooted a little closer to her to make her more comfortable.
When I was done, I thanked everyone and started to get ready to leave. It was now around 4:00pm and I knew we would have to get to the dinner on time. Jules helped me carry everything out to my car. After everything was packed up, we drove off quickly. "I really am sorry. I just don't have the best family and it was hard to see you all so happy together." She croaked from the passenger seat. "You have nothing to be sorry for"
