Author's note: As of today I'm hoping to get back to my regular update schedule of updating every Saturday. hopefully nothing more gets in the way.
Clio and Jin walked all around the murder house so Clio could see it and learn more about his ability to feel the emotions of the ghosts living there. He'd never felt anything like what he was feeling right now before and had never been in a predicament, where he could learn about his new found ability of sensing emotions, like this before so he didn't know until now he could sense the emotions of the dead and living and so strongly. This was all so new to him and he wanted to explore it a bit more and learn what he could with it. Clio couldn't see the spirits like Jin could but he could sense them through the emotions they felt and yes ghosts had emotions of their own. He could feel their emotions as if they were his own though he knew they weren't.
The duo decided to start upstairs and work their way down. They walked through all the rooms upstairs until they got to the last room on the left a few feet from the stairs. This was the room that had seen two deaths. Jin stayed by the door and Clio moved into the middle of the room.
"There is pain and sadness here but also a very strong feeling of love," Clio stated softly. "Jin what do you see?"
"There are two ghosts in here. Just as I thought there would be. A boy and a girl over by the bed."
Clio glanced over at the bed. There were two ghosts there according to Jin. Clio could feel them. Even though he couldn't see them he knew they were there. Were they the source of the strong feeling of love? Were they in love with each other? Had they been in love with each other in life too? Jin described the two spirits and the scene to Clio.
"The girl is laying on the bed on her stomach. Average height, In physical shape and curvy. Mid back length black hair kept up in a ponytail and her eyes are brown. She's holding the hand of her male companion."
"Is she now. That explains the strong love feeling. They do love each other and probably did in life as well. The pain and sadness must be from their deaths. They died in great pain," Clio mused as Jin continued describing what he saw.
"The boy is sitting on the floor with his back to the side of the bed. He's about the girl's height and in good shape. His hair is brown with a little red on the left side and it's shoulder length. His eyes are a medium brown and both him and the girl are in dark clothing the boy has a choker on and black gloves the girl doesn't."
"Let's continue on shall we," Clio decided.
Jin and Clio left the room and headed for the stairs. There had been three deaths. Two of them had been at the top of the stairs and the third had been right on them. Clio got a sense of pain again but also fear, content and a sense of caring.
"There are two ghosts sitting on the floor at the top of the stairs. One on the same side as the stairs and the other diagonally from him. They are both male," Jin revealed.
"They are both male?" Clio echoed. "Are they related or close in some way? There is a sense of contentment and deep caring that usually comes from a significant other or a very close friend or family member."
"They are brothers," Jin relayed to Clio after one of the ghosts had told him. " The one on the same side as the stairs is a blonde. He died in the massacre. He's in shape with long blonde hair with red streaks on either side of his head and blue eyes. He's in a white shirt and a black jacket and black pants. His shoes are also black. Like the boy in the room he has a black choker around his neck and black gloves on his hands."
"Was he the older brother or the younger one?" Clio asked.
"He was the younger one," Jin confirmed. "The older brother is the one diagonally from him. He's got grey shoulder length hair and his eyes appear to be lilac. He's also in pretty good shape and is in dark clothing."
"They've all been in dark clothing so far," Clio commented as Jin nodded.
"The older brother has a bit of color to him. His hat is black with a blue sash and a blue feather. He has a black cape with a blue trim. His knee length boots are also black with blue cuffs. His gloves are blue and there is a half mask on the right side of his face that is blue. His shirt is black but his pants are white."
"And he was the older brother correct?" Clio asked just to confirm.
"Yes he was," Jin answered.
"What about the one on the stairs?" Clio wondered.
"He's a friend of the blonde. He's about the same height and build as the blonde. He's got black shoulder length hair in a dreadlock style and brown eyes darker then the brown haired boy in the bedroom. Like the other boy he's in all black clothing and has a choker around his neck and black gloves. He also has a black hat."
"What is he doing right now?" Clio asked staring at the stairs.
"He's sitting in the middle of the stairs. He keeps looking from the top of the stairs to the living room."
"Why the living room?" Clio wondered.
"Probably because there are two ghosts in there," Jin stated.
"I knew that. I felt their emotions. I meant why does he keep turning his attention to them? Did he know them? Were they good friends?"
"He says yes," Jin answered.
"Alright let's go to the Kitchen, the front door, the garage, the basement then head back to the living room."
Jin nodded and followed Clio down the stairs. The dark haired ghost watched them go and enter the kitchen silently. In the kitchen was one very lonely spirit. He was sitting on the floor in front of the sink.
"There is a very intense feeling of loneliness in here as well as fear and immense pain," Clio said in a low soft tone as he experienced the emotions.
"There is a tall boy with dark green hair in a parted bowl style and grey eyes sitting in front of the sink. He was staring at the floor when we walked in but his attention is now on us. He's in a grey sweater and blue jeans."
"The loneliness is coming from him," Clio quickly stated. "He misses his friends and family. There is longing and fear. Fear for his life and longingness for one of the other massacre victims. A close friend of his I think."
"Possibly," Jin agreed before turning his attention to the sink. "I can see you. Clio here can only sense your emotions."
"What is it?" Clio asked.
"He's surprised to see us here and is also surprised I can see him. He's now standing in front of you."
Clio and Jin moved on. While exiting the kitchen Clio got the feeling of pain and fear from the back door. He stopped and looked around.
"Is there anyone here right now?" he asked Jin.
"Only the boy on the stairs and the one in the kitchen," Jin told him.
"Odd. There is even more fear and pain coming from the back door. Did someone die there?"
"One of the massacre victims died out in the backyard," Jin informed.
"I'd like to go out there briefly," Clio decided turning his attention to the back door.
Out on the porch sitting on the steps was a young boy in a white t-shirt and black jeans. He was looking out into the yard when the two living boys came out. He looked over to them.
"There is a boy with black spiky hair and brown eyes sitting on the top porch step," Jin told Clio calmly.
"He's in pain, physically and emotionally and fearful but also hopeful too," Clio revealed staring at the spot Jin had said the spirit was sitting in.
"He almost got away," Jin said in a surprisingly soft tone.
"On to the front door now," Clio said in the same soft tone.
The two boys cautiously approached the front door. Clio stopped just a few feet from the door and Jin stopped right behind him. They both stared at the area of the door.
"There is an immense anger and a lot of hate coming from this area," Clio warned in a calm tone. "This ghost is not good. They are angry and mean and they like to hurt others."
"This guy is short with flaming teal hair and violet eyes. He's wearing a teal shirt with blue pants and a white feather boa around his shoulders," Jin described.
"What is he currently doing right now?" Clio asked Jin.
"He's leaning right up against the front door with his arms crossed over his chest staring us down. He's frowning and glaring a lot."
"Okay we're done here," Clio decided moving on to the garage next.
In the garage Clio felt a pang of regret engulfing the whole area. There was also quite a bit of emotional pain and some physical pain mixed in. Jin and Clio stood side by side in front of the door they had entered from.
"This guy is the tallest so far. He's well built and muscled. His hair is maroon colored and spiked and his eyes are very dark. He's wearing a black open vest with no shirt and dark red sweat pants. There is a lighter red shirt tied around his waist. Around his left wrist is an orange arm band and a yellow pendant necklace is around his neck," Jin said calmly as the ghost in the garage watched him and Clio.
"There is a lot of regret coming from him," Clio noted. "Tell me is he standing or sitting right now?"
"He's sitting on the ground with his back against the overhead door," Jin said. "One knee is up and the other is bent at the knee but against the floor."
"And he's watching us now isn't he?" Clio asked.
"He is," Jin confirmed.
"I'm getting a slight bit of curiousness from him. We will talk to him later right now we must go to the basement."
Clio led the way out of the garage to the basement. He opened the door to an old set of stairs leading down into depths of the dark space. He turned on the two lights, the one on the stairs and the one in the middle of the basement. After a minute he and Jin descended the stairs with Clio in the led still.
The basement was mostly lit up with only a few places still in shadows. As Jin and Clio both stepped off the stairs and glanced around something caught Clio's attention. There was a brown colored boot poking out from a tight place under the stairs.
"Jin someone else is here," Clio whispered to his friend.
Jin walked over cautiously with Clio a little ways behind him. Under the stairs was a young man with spiky green hair with a yellow strand hanging over his face. He had knee length brown boots, a black sleeveless shirt under medium green vest with black trim. His pants were a dark green with a brown belt and on his hands were black elbow length gloves. He also had a pair of black rimmed glasses covering his closed eyes.
"He's breathing," Jin noticed.
Jin checked for a pulse and quickly found one. He quickly noticed the unconscious man's right hand was against his left side. He moved the hand to see if the man was injured and found two wounds in his side and a lot of blood.
"Clio he's injured. Looks like he was stabbed twice."
At that moment the man's eyes opened a little bit. Clio and Jin could see his eyes were blue. They could also see he was in pain and suffering from blood loss.
"Who...a-are...y-ou?" the man asked in a weak voice. "Wh-ere's the...other guy...w-who was here?"
"I'm Jin. This is Clio. We have a friend upstairs who knows first aid. Do you need help?"
The man nodded weakly and allowed Jin to help him to his feet. He was taller then Jin and Clio but hopefully they could help him get up the stairs so Naoki could take a look at him. The still unknown man took a few steps before collapsing on the bottom step.
"Clio go get Naoki," Jin told the shorter boy urgently.
Clio rushed back up the stairs. A short time passed before he returned with Naoki. Naoki was about the same size and height as the injured man so he could help him up the stairs and out of the basement to the living room easier then Jin or Clio.
"I'm Naoki Minamo," Naoki introduced himself. "You are?"
"S-ilas...K-K-K-arlisle," the man stuttered.
"I know first aid. Do you need help?" Naoki asked him.
"Yeah...I also...need the...cops."
"Okay. Let's tend to your injuries first."
Naoki helped the man to his feet and up the basement stairs to the living room. He carefully sat him down and removed the vest to get better access to the wounds he was treating. Naoki took a really good look at the two wounds to the man's left side. One was slightly above the other but they were the same size and they looked like they really hurt.
"Okay this is probably going to hurt bit but bare with me," Naoki warned the man who only nodded. "Could you tell me what happened."
"Yeah...I was...on my way here when...I witnessed three guys...confronting a fourth...They were demanding money...and ganging up on him...I guess he...owed them or something...Anyway...he either didn't have it...or he wouldn't pay them and was just saying...he didn't have it...and one of the guys...shot him dead....I tried to...leave the area quickly...without them noticing me...but I got caught...The guy...with the gun...shot at me...hitting me twice."
Naoki pressed a cloth soaked in disinfectant to Silas's wounds. Silas closed his eyes tightly and moaned lowly in pain before hissing and gritting his teeth.
"So you weren't stabbed?" Jin said out loud.
"No...I wasn't..." Silas hissed out in pain shaking his head.
"Do you think they're still looking for you?" Fubuki asked as Naoki started bandaging Silas's wounds.
"Wouldn't...doubt it," Silas answered in a growl.
"That's all I can do for him for now. We need to get him to a hospital."
"The house's...landline is...disconnected...I tried it...when I got here...and I...left my cell phone...at my aunt and...uncle's," Silas told the group.
"Fubuki and I left ours at my place so my mother wouldn't constantly call us to check up on us," Suoh stated calmly.
"I don't have a cell phone," Clio admitted.
"Then how were you going to call your mother to pick you up when we were finished here?" Naoki asked him.
"I was going to borrow one of yours."
"Mine's dead and I forgot my charger at home," Naoki sighed.
"I lost mine and haven't gotten a replacement yet," Jin informed.
"If none of us has a working cell phone on us then how were you planning on recording evidence of your so called ghosts let alone get help for him?" Suoh asked in irritation gesturing towards Silas.
"Jin took care of that," Naoki informed. "That's what's with the backpack he has with him."
"I brought a few cameras and some audio recorders," Jin said grabbing the backpack from beside the couch where Naoki had put it after grabbing the first aid kit. "The first aid kit was also in here."
"So that's why...you guys are...here," Silas figured out, his voice becoming a little more stable now that he'd been given first aid. "...You're that...group my aunt and uncle...told me was going to be here..."
"Yes. If you don't mind my asking why did you come here?" Naoki asked him.
"...My cousin died here...three years ago...I come here...every year now...to pay my respects to her and...the others who also died here..."
"That explains a lot about you," Fubuki mused. "So what now?"
"If I...don't return to my aunt and uncle's tomorrow morning...they'll send the cops here to check on me..." Silas stated.
"So we wait then," Jin figured.
"Can you last that long?" Naoki wondered.
"I'll have to," was Silas's response.
"Or one of us could run to get the police and an ambulance," Fubuki voiced out.
"I don't think so...There are three dangerous criminals...out there somewhere...There's no telling where they could be...right now. It's safer to stay put and wait..." Silas insisted.
"So your aunt and uncle own this place," Naoki asked to change the subject. "It was them Jin talked to over the phone to set up us being here. Might have been a good thing too."
"Yeah...They've been trying to...sell the place since...before Akari died..." Silas told him.
"Your cousin? The only girl to die here and the only survivor of the massacre. The first of three to die here in the years following that massacre."
Naoki was mostly talking to himself. He started writing down things on a notepad Jin handed him. Silas sat up a little more and watched him and the others.
"So you're all here...to investigate the place huh..." he said to keep himself distracted from his pain.
"Yeah. I'm here to figure out what really happened here the night of the massacre and why three other people came here to die," Naoki informed. "Jin and Clio came here to prove there are ghosts trapped here and help them move on and Suoh and Fubuki want to prove them wrong."
"Okay...Sounds interesting...except for the ghost thing but whatever...My aunt and uncle just told me to...lock up after you...since I was already coming here...Speaking of locking up someone should go lock the doors...so those guys...can't get in easily...if they show up...here...Just to be on the safe side."
"I'll go lock the front door and check the back one," Fubuki offered.
"Grab the keys too...and bring them to me,..." Silas called after him. "The front door key is..."
"Right here," Jin told him pulling the key from a pocket. "I've had it on me the whole time we've been here."
"I slipped it back...under the flower pot...after unlocking the door..." Silas admitted. "Now that I...think about it...that was a stupid thing to do...when criminals are looking for you..."
"Where's the back door key?" Naoki asked Silas.
"...It's...under the back...doormat outside..."
There's the chapter. What do you think? What will happen next? Will the criminals find the group at the house? Will the ghosts actually be set free? Keep reading to find out. See you in the next chapter.
