2012
Everything was quiet and calm. The plants living their own life as well as bugs crawling and flying around. The comfortable silence was interrupt by a woman running away from something for her life, her light brown hair swaying side to side at the rythm of her run and green eyes filled with despair to keep running and get away from what's chasing her.
A loud roar echoed through the jungle she's in, making her speed up a little but to the amount of her strenght, her legs started to ache, begging for a rest to gain new energy. That however won't stop Jane from continuing running, pushing through the leaves blocking her view and dodging trunks of high trees.
Finally making her way out of the leaves maze, Jane was stopped by a giant foot landing in front of her and quickly ducked behind a tree. Slowly and carefully, she peeked out from her hiding spot and looked at the mighty dinosaur searching for her, sniffing the air. When the t-rex turned her head Jane's way, the chased one ducked from the dino's sight and hope she's been not spotted.
Looking for a way out, Jane waited for the t-rex to walk away and when she heard her heavy footsteps distancing from her, she made a run for it. She lost the sight of the t-rex so she suppose she's somewhere far from her. But oh, how much was she mistaken.
When Jane ran under the giant trunk tourists are looking from and forward, she was stopped by the Tyrannosaurus Rex herself, only this time she's looking down at her. Jane gasped, backing away slowly. When the t-rex roared at her, Jane didn't wait any longer and turned the way she came from, running once again under the tourists watching her with horror and fear in their eyes.
The t-rex is too big to walk under the giant trunk, which gives Jane oppurity to escape her. And when she thought she did, a foot of the t-rex chasing her stepped right on her right, her heavy footstep making the ground shake under Jane's feet and sending her to the ground.
Jane turned on her back with scared face while backing away, knowing she's trapped and the t-rex's lunch. She stopped crawling backwards to cover her face with her arms when the carnivore roared at her, getting closer to Jane's small figure. The tourists thought this is the end of the woman in the paddock, but grinned when instead of eating her Rexy started licking her, making the woman laugh and shriek in disgust.
"Argh-! No, Rexy! Not again! It's fresh washed clothes! We said no licking! No licking! You remember?! No saliva on fresh clothes!" Jane tried to yell over the giant dinosaur licking her, trying to push her face away but no avail. Rexy stopped licking the human, only staring at her.
"Ugh. Thank you!" Irritated, Jane managed to stand up, only to be pushed again by Rexy's snout and fell flat on her back again, entertaining not only the dinosaur but also the tourists watching them from behind the soundproof glass.
"You really had to." Sighing and groaning, Jane glared at Rexy who has a smug look on her face which only Jane can recognize. Rexy nudged Jane with her snout and Jane only pushed her away with fake glare.
"No. Go away. I'm so not forgiving you this time." Rexy nudged her again and Jane repeat her acts.
"Oh, getting back to old times, huh? Dinosaurs and humans fighting each other! And humans will win once again! Wooho!" Every time Rexy tried to get closer to the human, she would push her away or slap her hard skin. Rexy know Jane's only playing around, however that didn't stop her from annoying her even more and gently laid her giant head on Jane's body, making the human groan.
"Argh! Alright, alright, I give up. I give up! I forgive you! Now off me." Admiting Jane's hopeless against the giant t-rex, her hand tapped Rexy's jaw in motive to go off and Rexy did, lifting her head again. Getting to a sitting position and then pushing herself on her feet, Jane caresed her dino's head, getting low purrs back.
"You're getting better, Rexy. I almost thought you're gonna eat me. But you wouldn't do that, would you?" Jane laughed when Rexy huffed, pulling her head away and going to eat her prize for the day Jane prepared for her.
Jane then turned to the crowd of people behind the glass, spreading her arms wide side to side and speaking to a microphone which is heard in the room with tourists.
"And this is how our training look like, my dear fellas. You could see how Rexy is using her nose to smell me out? She found me quickier than the last time." The people clapped, like every other time when Jane and Rexy showed them the way they train, live and how their relationship works. "Thank you for your attention and come again."
It took Jane months to get used to talking and introducing Rexy to people that came to look at her, but after few times doing so Jane found it as every day rhoutine. There are few people Jane's comfortable with and talk to, but mostly it's Rexy she spend her time longer than in her little house. Unlike the tourists, the workers working on the island know or heard about Jane as 'the t-rex mama' and they like to time call her like that when they get the chance to spot her.
She would lie if she said it's not annoying but grew used to being called like that and even started liking it a little.
The first week Jane started working at the park was the hardest. Rexy was stubborn to comunicate with her or even look at her and it took Jane a while to understand Rexy was thinking if Jane is or not the girl from 1993. Only after she assured her she is actually the 7-year-old girl from that time Rexy didn't turn away from her right when she caught her scent, which for some reason matches her, and they started working on their relationship. 6 years took them to build it to this level, where Rexy is Jane's best friend and would protect her from any danger, dinosaur or human that would try to take Jane away from her.
Oh, and Owen is on the island as well. His work matches Jane's, the only difference being speices. While Jane train and build her relationship with T-rex, Owen train raptors. Four actually. When Jane woke up one morning and found Owen sitting by her opened fridge while pushing chicken wings into himself, she died twice times. First: from heart attack at the sudden surprise, second: from hard unstopable laughter. Every time he tried to surprise her with something, he did it the most ridiculous way possible. And appearing by her fridge instead of being in Navi was one of these ridiculous ways. But oh, how they missed each other. They're still catching up the missed time together and is hard to find free time to spend it together as they have dinosaurs to take care of.
Jane climbed a ladder up and opened the metal door separating them from paddock, closing it after she walked through.
"Another successful day. Good job, Jane. I however still can't understand how you're still alive. You scare me every day you are inside the paddock with that animal." Jane made fake smile at her coworker Tom, hiding her irritation from him and without hint of sympathy rudely calling Rexy 'an animal'. He's the one who gives Rexy food when Jane isn't around.
"It's called 'relationship', dumbass. And Rexy isn't some animal. She's much more intelligent than you, faster than you, stronger than you and able to tear you apart in less than 2 seconds." Pointing at his chest with her index finger, Jane gave him another fake smile before turning on her heel and making a way at lunch.
"Oh, and Jane?!" Tom stopped her when he called her name and she turned to him lazily, tired of him wasting her time.
"Yes?"
"They need you in the lab. Said it's job only you can do." His words confused her, but remain silent. As an answer she nodded and continued her walk, only now to lab instead of restaurant.

Pushing past the tourists, changed into fresh clothes Jane walked down hallway and into the lab, being greet with few sciencist and ignored by the others. But the main one she's walking towards is the head of making the dinosaurs, Dr. Henry Wu. She remember the first time they met in lab and showed her and others the velociraptor eggs.
"I heard you need me, doc." Approaching Wu, the sciencist looked up at the t-rex trainer.
"Ah, yes. Come over." Wu gestured with his finger for her to come even closer and she did, her eyes landing on two dinosaur eggs. Wu's been working on new dinosaur for some time now and to Jane it feels like yesterday he started talking about it.
"It's time to hatch." Jane's eyes widen at Wu's words, jaw falling as she stared at grinning Wu.
"Wh-at? Already?" Stuttering, Jane asked unbelievably. She's one of the few which don't work in lab (that much) Wu told about his project and according to her relationship with t-rex, he consider her as the first to be seen by these new made dinosaurs. And as much as Jane protested, saying she has to take care of Rexy and pay attention to her, Wu, Masrani and even Claire agreed Jane's perfectly fit to be trainer of the new species and that gives her no choice but agree.
"Yes. I wouldn't call you if it wasn't time. Are you ready?" Wu wrote something down and looked at Jane, who's expresion he can't read. Something between unsure and hesitant.
"Nope. But I don't think I will ever be. Let's just get this over with." Shaking her head, Jane took another deep breath and waited for the scientist to leave her alone with the eggs so only Jane can be seen by these new dinosaurs. She's not very happy about having weight added on her shoulders, not knowing how she will train these new dinosaurs and Rexy. She's used to spend every day with Rexy minimum 5 hours, now there are gonna be two new which gonna need her attention.
She remember the first time her, Alan, Ellie, Ian and Hammond watched the velociraptor hatch and what Hammond said about who the hatchling sees first time will have it's trust in them. Now Jane's the one to become a 'dino mama', not like she already is.
Jane waited for like five minutes till one of the eggs started shaking and her lazily laid head perked up. She watched it crack and hole being made in the egg, a three fingers with long sharp claws hanging outside the egg. Where was the second hole above where the hand is revealed an eye, it's colours mixed with deep orange and red, like lava. It stared right at her, holding eye contact for a while before it used it's strenght to break out from the egg and even managed to stand up. Impressive.
Jane couldn't help the grin making it's way onto her lips at the sight of the new cute but dangerous looking new dinosaur. It's body look similar to t-rex's (Wu said it's main DNA is t-rex), however it's head is longer and teeth clapped into each other perfectly. It has two little like horns on top of it's head, like carnotaur, from there running a line of poping out scales. And instead of two fingers it has three and rather large hand compared to it's body. What caught Jane's interest is it's skin colour, a silver white.
They stared at each other again, not noticing the second egg hatching. Jane felt this connection to this creature, a feeling which tells you to protect them. One she feel with Rexy. But why is the question. Jane was prepared to reach her hand to it but stopped when they heard a crack coming from the second egg.
And like the first one, it managed to escape it's egg prison, although it took it longer than the first one and had trouble standing up, but Jane's helping hand got it standing on it's legs. It looks exactly like the first one but has darker shade of skin, eye colour having more of the crimson red and compared to the first one, it's a little smaller. Otherwise they look identical.
Jane stopped fighting her smile and reached her hand to stroke the second one's head, which she got purr as response. The first one seem to be jealous not getting the attention like it's younger sibling and nudged Jane's free hand. Realizing what it wants, Jane stroke both of their heads, which they enjoyed.
"I knew you are made to be their trainer." Wu's voice snapped Jane back to reality, whipping her head around to look at him while not stopping stroking them.
"What are they called? Which one is which gender?" Jane asked and Wu walked closer to take a look at the newborns.
"They're called the Indominus Rex. The smaller one is a male and the bigger one a female." Wu explained.
"Hmm." Jane turned her head back to the siblings. "It's too long name and I can't call them both Indominus Rex, it would be confusing. I will call you Inza and you Izy." The trainer pointed at the female then at the male. They chirped at her, meaning they like it.
The scientists came over to the new hybrids, going to check their vitals and if there is something wrong with them. There Jane knew she's not needed anymore till first training and left.

Later that night
Jane parked her motorcycle in front of her little house after visiting and talking to Owen. Being exhausted from the day, the only she wish for is to lay in her bed and sleep. But it had to wait when somebody decided to call her this late.
Looking at who's calling, her brows furrowed when Wu's name appeared on the screen. What could he need at this time of hour? He know she's done with work today. Curious, she picked up and pressed the phone to her ear. "Hey doc, do you need something? Because I would be glad if it could wait till morning-." She was cut off by Wu's tired voice.
"She killed him, Jane. Inza killed Izy."
