Lucy Rosier 🐺
1st of August, Waxing Crescent 🌒

Here I stood again - in front of that great manor house of Malfoy family. I had not met Lucius again, as the way he looked at me and the growing feeling in my chest were becoming overwhelming. Every time I was near him I felt like my wild side was taking over and I could not allow myself such behaviour especially with a way older man and a respected ally of my family. One wrong move and years of common alliance could fall into ruin.

We've been writing though and... oh... how wonderful his letters were! We spoke of poetry and plays, we shared our summer days in long pieces of writings. I waited impatiently for each and every one of them, barely able to withdraw myself from writing hastily back as soon as possible. My heart grew weaker and weaker for him, it was crumbling. I wished to meet him again, look into his eyes, listen to his tempting voice.

Finally one July morning an invitation came through. Lucius Malfoy was hosting Lughnasadh, marking the peek of the harvest season. I felt anxiety at the thought of meeting him but also counted the days down.

This time the party was taking place in his gardens at the back of the house. Familiar faces greeted me and my aunt. I wore a lacy, summery white dress, reaching my ankles. I tied my hair into a long braid which rested comfortably over my shoulder, not getting in the way. The garden was decorated with magical fairy lights and the nature was blooming over the tables filled with beverages, salads, baked apples, corn and cherry pies. My aunt went ahead and began speaking with one of the elder ladies, her bright green dress and matching hat melting in the background of surrounding nature. I walked towards the quiet corner of the garden. Mister Malfoy seemed occupied with one of the guests inside his house, so I still had time to sooth down before meeting him. I smiled and headed between hedges, enjoying the faint sounds of chatter and music. The air smelled of abundance, bees were flying around, buzzing quietly and the birds chirped cheerfully high up in the trees.

'I'm going to miss you, summer' I pouted at the thought of fast approaching Autumn even if it had its beauty as well. As I walked deeper and deeper in the garden, I spotted a swing. I chuckled at the thought of having a go and I glanced over my shoulder just to make sure I wasn't followed. I slowly sat down on the wooden plank, making sure it was sturdy enough to hold my weight, and I began swinging. My braid loosened up, letting some curls go up in the air as I swung higher up. A childish laughter erupted from my throat as one of my beige ballerina shoes fell off to the ground, leaving my foot bare. I shut my eyes, enjoying the moment, warm air of the evening on my skin, the smell of ripe berries in the bushes. As I was nearly out of breath swinging my legs back and forth, I slew down and descended to the ground, panting softly, trying to see where did my shoe land.

'Looking for this?' I glanced up with a gasp as I realised Lucius Malfoy had been leaning against the tree, watching. My missing shoe in his hand. As I was still trying to catch my breath, I nodded, chuckling a little.

'Good evening, monsieur Malfoy' I breathed out and watched him approach me, as he kneeled down in front of me. His icy blue eyes travelled up my leg, to my rising and falling chest and onto my eyes as his fingertips palmed my calve and he slid my shoe back on its place gently. I stared at him in awe as he did that. His white shirt was resting neatly over his toned chest, a family crest in shape of entwined snakes pinned at his collar.

'My garden has been haunted by the Goddess of Harvest' he held out his hand to me and I took it, getting up slowly. The warmth of his hand brought butterflies to my stomach and I did not want to let go. Instead I stared into his eyes, drowning in their endless depth.

'I'm hardly a Goddess, my lord' I saw him breath in sharply as his fingers caressed mine, before he brought my hand to his lips again, to rest those teasing small kisses all over it. At each kiss he kept eye contact and I just accepted them, my mouth almost watering for more. I felt my body tremble in need, a feeling so new and peculiar, I could think I were poisoned with a love potion. My lower lip hung open as I took a step closer. The humid air, the scent of roses, berries, various flowers I could not name and his touch made me let out a quietest moan as he rested one last kiss upon my fingertip. His eyes burned through me and all of it felt like a dream.

'We should head back, your aunt will be looking for you' his hoarse voice set fire to my lower abdomen and I involuntary licked my drying lips, nodding against what I felt. I didn't want to go, I wanted to stay there with him and kiss him, hidden in this magical garden. 'I'm a little bit thirsty' I managed to stutter out and my head span as I felt his hand wrap around my waist, guiding me towards the centre of the party. 'So am I, miss ' He let go just at the edge of the bushes, none would ever see the touch he gifted me with. I gave him one last yearning look before I put myself together and hurried to get a glass of cold water in order to... put out my thirst. I thought I saw hints before but now I was certain. He craved for me just as much as I did for him, and it was utterly torturous.

I felt like life had been testing my patience and self control by throwing this girl in my tracks. I imagined meeting her many times and felt tempted to ask her out between our correspondence. But I could not gather the courage. I looked forward meeting her again and with the right excuse. When I saw Lucy breathing heavily, with her hair messed up rather than perfectly put together as always, her shining eyes... her body covered by just one thin layer of clothing I could rip off in a split of a second. All I could think of was pushing her to the ground right under that swing...

However, years of strict education and etiquette paid off. And it was satisfying too. I loved the little moan she let out for me for nothing but a gentle kiss on her hand. Her eyes seemed to be glowing like the sun by the time she looked at me one last time. I indeed saw wild thirst in them. Animalistic taste for blood... or rather... taste for sex.

How on earth could I put an end to it? Earlier today I had the Minister of Magic visit me. They found evidence against my name from the war times. I had been demoted further... to a teaching position. I already lost my position as the school governor, I were pulled back to an office in the Ministry and now this. Hogwarts had apparently created a new programme for last year students called the Dark Arts. As the times of war turmoil were behind us the headmistress decided it would benefit the future generations. I must say I agreed with the idea, even if I and McGonagall haven't always got along. But teaching a bunch of teenagers was my worst nightmare. And Lucy would be among them, making it impossible to stay away from her...

I snapped out of my thoughts as the angel in white dress returned, carrying two glasses of water. She kindly handed me one of them and took a sip before she spoke with her gentle, sweet accent. 'I followed your advice and read "Dracula" again. I had indeed forgotted how increadible this story is' I took a sip of fresh cold liquid and smiled, showing her a bench with a gesture, where we could sit down and talk. 'I enjoy Stoker, his idea of what a vampire could be is fascinating to me' I replied, trailing my gaze over her face. 'I don't think he was a monster. I mean, he did bad things, but he was just... sad. And so lonely, just imagine living hundreds of years' her golden eyes flickered with sadness so deep it touched my soul. 'He killed Lucy' I reminded her with a small smirk, as she shared her name with one of the characters. 'Oh she was loved by so many men, maybe it was for the best' she chuckled adorably and waved her hand, looking at the flower bed on the side of the bench. 'Perhaps' I agreed and opened my palm, making a red rose bloom over my skin. She stared at the simple magic trick in awe, before she picked the flower from my hand. 'Perhaps Dracula had to kill Lucy because this world could not deal with this amount of beauty' my voice sounded dreamy, I could barely recognise myself in my own body. 'You speak of death very romantically, monsieur Malfoy'. 'Oh I am not the romantic type' I scoffed, feeling boyishly flustered at her remark. 'I beg to differ' she tucked the rose in the chest pocket of my shirt and the air evaporated from my lungs. 'You're really something else, Rosier' I said quietly, taking the flower and tucking it in her hair instead. 'I wonder why you symphatise with the monsters in the books? Ladies tend to be drawn towards the heros and heroins' I noticed as she pulled the rose out of her raven hair, making thorns grow out of its stemp. I watched the sharp edges between her fingers and she suspended her gaze over them too. 'Well... because I can see a sort of reflection of myself in them. The darkness that hides under the surface, under the pretty face and beautiful cloths. Just behind your eyes' she spoke slowly as she twirled the flower between her palms. 'There's beauty in sorrow' she added as the thorn dug in her skin and a small drop of crimson blood slipped through the cut. It dripped on the fabric of her pure white dress, leaving a small stain. 'Let me' I pulled out a handkerchief from my pocket and quickly patted the wound. 'I'm sorry' she breathed out and I shook my head. 'Don't you dare apologise' I said softly and made the rose dissolve into thin air. I snapped my fingers and one of my house elves appeared. 'Glass of wine and a bottle of wound cleaning potion. At once' I growled at the creature, which quickly fetched both things. 'Here, darling' I handed her the glass of wine in her unharmed hand before taking her other one in mine, pouring the green liquid over the cut. It made a sizzling sound and her skin sealed seamlessly. 'Merci. You're very kind' I smiled a little and leaned in. 'I know what you mean... about that... darkness' I let go of her hand and put the potion aside. A gust of summer wind blew her loose locks away and brought her own scent closer to my nostrils. 'I fear to sound foolish, mister Malfoy, but I find talking to you so... comforting' she whispered and I sighed, desperate to pull her into my arms.

'Excuse me, Lucius, but we'll get going' John Macmillan dressed in a black suit approached us and I turned my head slowly towards him, lazily getting up. Lucy glanced away and stood up as well, reality catching up with us. The night had fallen already, sky scattered with stars. 'Yes, it's getting rather late' I announced and turned to miss Rosier one last time. 'It was a pleasurable conversation, madmoiselle. I thank you for that' I nodded at the young lady, who curtsied, her gaze moving onto the thin crescent moon. 'Thank you, sir. I wish you a pleasant night' were her words as she walked away.

It was a pleasant night indeed.
