"In love? Excuse me?" I stare at Mikasa in disbelief. Where did this even come from?!
"I see the way you look at him and how you love it when he relies on you!" Mikasa stares at me for an explanation. What the hell am I supposed to say to that?
"Mikasa, even if I was in love with Eren--which i'm not--why are we doing this now? We're about to go save humanity!"
Mikasa swallows hard and nervously stares at our squad leader. "We have time." Her eyes cloud with guilt when she realizes how selfish she is being.
I sigh. "Mikasa. Eren and I... don't even worry about it. Ok? I won't stand in the way of your love for him." I awkwardly punch her shoulder as her cheeks regain their color.
"I-I don't love Eren."
"Then why are you--"
"Cadets move out!" Our squad leader orders, shocking us into realizing how dire our situation is.
"Let's go, Mikasa." I smile and take off, trying to be first as always.
I hear her laugh and in seconds she's in front. Wow.
