It was getting late, when Eddy suggested they'd pack up and go back to their apartment.
"We haven't bought and decorated that tree for nothing, hey?", he meant, folded the big blanket and put it into his backpack.
As the traces from their stay on Christmas Eve on that hill got erased, Brett felt a nervousness invading his system and it had nothing to do with soon being able to see that shiny Christmas tree at home.
He tried to cover it up by engaging Eddy into a conversation about how they'd apparently both forgotten to call their families and wish them a merry Christmas and because of the time difference, it was simply too late for this now without being impolite.
It was kind of understandable though, with them being busy discovering their love for each other. They promised to remind each other to call tomorrow and were surprised their mums hadn't yet done the deed themselves.
However, it went undiscussed whether they should inform them about their new relationship status or not. They both knew that it was way too early and new for dropping a bomb like that, on Christmas nonetheless.
"Welcome home, boyfriend", Eddy thused, opening the door to their apartment. Brett's heart was almost jumping out of his chest by now, but he deadpanned his way to the living room and turned on the lights of the Christmas tree. No need for Eddy to know he was freaking out. No sire!
"Best idea ever! Getting that tree!" Eddy's eyes shone as he put down his stuff and took a stance next to Brett, admiring their festive project.
Brett nodded. "Yeah. It does make everything more christmassy, I guess."
Eddy glanced at him. "What do you wanna do? Play games? Talk some more or head to bed soon?"
Bed... Brett cursed his sensitive soul for almost losing it only upon hearing that innocent word. He cleared his throat.
"Uhm... what would you like to do?", he croaked.
"Hmm... let's make some tea. Something with cinammon, and chill on the couch? Unwind a bit?"
Brett already made his way to the kitchen and set up the water heater in silent agreement. He really didn't trust his voice until he had a few sips of that tea.
Look. It wasn't like he was a virgin or something. He did have his share of experiences, short flings and several girlfriends to prove that. But none of his past liasons had involved another guy besides him. And for none of it had it been so important that he didn't fuck up!
And it was so weird too. He'd known Eddy forever, but being physical and sort of intimate with him was very, very unfamiliar. Before, on that grassy hill, Brett had just done what felt natural and most of the initiative had come from Eddy in the first place. And he guessed he had been too overwhelmed by the situation, the happiness and his desire which had been surpressed for what had felt like an eternity to feel awkward or self conscious about it.
And he had loved every second of it. Every taste of those lips, every touch of hands, fingers and legs on the other's clothing and sometimes, if lucky and daring, on the other's bare skin.
But now, the situation had sort of a weight to it. What did Eddy expect? Before, they had been outside and it had been clear that they wouldn't, couldn't take things too far. Here however, in their own apartment behind closed doors, everything was possible.
Did Eddy want to take things slow? Or not? Should Brett take initiative as the older one or should he let Eddy take charge? And if yes would Eddy want to...
"Brett?"
It took Brett a second to pull out from his spiral of thoughts.
"Hmm?"
"You comin'? Water's hot for quite some time now. Do you need help with the tea?"
"Oh", Brett made, rubbed his nose and opened a random cupboard in search for the tea, "Nah, it's fine. I can manage."
Way to go, spacing out so he couldn't even brew any tea by himself. He took the filled up teapot and two cups and walked over to the couch where Eddy was sitting.
"Wanna watch a film or something? Or play some games?", Eddy asked and poured Brett and himself some tea.
"Film sounds good!" Brett didn't think he'd be able to concentrate on winning any games in his state. Eddy set up "Princess Mononoke" and soon, they were enveloped by the opening melody, which awakened some distant childhood memories in both of them.
"Bro, why you sitting so far away?", Eddy frowned, "Come closer! I'm not gonna bite!"
Really? Brett thought. But then again, it would be very weird considering the start of their relationship to leave a gap for two imaginary people between them, so he had no choice but to scoot closer, until Eddy reached out, laid his arm around Brett and pulled him to his side.
He sighed deeply. "That's more like it."
Brett inhaled Eddy's scent and tried to relax into his arms. "Yeah", he simply mumbled.
"Are you okay? You seem kinda off."
"Fine."
"You sure?"
"Yeah, just tired. This evening has been pretty life changing so far, if you haven't noticed yet", Brett tried to weasel out.
"True", Eddy sighed again and apparently, to Brett's great relief, letting Brett of the hook.
They'd seen that movie a thousand times, so the plot wasn't that enticing anmyore. What caught Brett's attention instead were Eddy's fingers, drawing small circles on his arm, and about half an hour into the film, on his peck, around his nipple. Brett gulped and was clearly feeling and trying to hide the effect that minute touch had on him. At some point, Eddy turned his head a little, so his lips were grazing Brett's forehead, leaving slightly wet marks here and there.
Brett's breathing accelarated almost unnoticably, or so he hoped.
"You're so stiff", Eddy mumbled against his hair.
Brett swallowed hard and couldn't bring himself to answer.
"Relax..." Eddy kissed Brett's forehead just above his eye.
On a whim and out of desparation, Brett turned his head and met Eddy's lips with his. Fuck this! He thought. If he was going to freak out, he'd at least make sure he had a good time while doing so. He was half aware that it made no sense, but not much did in his scrumbled up brain in the presence of one Eddy Chen.
Eddy's lips moved softly around his with a satisfied hum and opened up a tiny bit, so Brett could taste Eddy's tongue against his own. Hot, wet and absolutely sweet. Brett groaned and intensified the meeting of their lips, which caused Eddy to moan and open his mouth even more to make space for their tongues to dance around each other. Their breaths mingled, short and shallow and it wasn't long until their hands were roaming on the other's upper body, trying to feel every bit of soft skin not covered by a shirt, every high and low of the others's physique.
Brett was absolutely taken in by the kind of sorcery Eddy's lips were betwitching him with and was on the way to losing himself, when he felt Eddy's right hand softly but firmly wander down his belly, reaching the hem of his shirt and passing his waist line.
"Wait!", Brett huffed and slightly pulled away from his love.
Eddy's half lidded eyes, watching him attentively, were dark, his pupils clearly dilated and Brett couldn't remember having seen a more erotic image in his life ever.
And to know that he, Brett, was the cause of this...
"Yeah?", Eddy made, his voice hoarse. A very nice tone, Brett found.
"We..."
"Is this going too fast?", Eddy asked and despite the desire clearly shown in his eyes, his tone wasn't rushed or annoyed at all. It was a genuine question, once again searching nothing but the best for Brett.
Count on Eddy to be a gentleman despite having certain needs pressing themselves to the forefront.
"I... arrgh, fuck this! I don't know! I just... I've never been with a guy!", Brett admitted, the frustration audible in his voice making everything worse.
Instead of laughing at him or making jokes as Brett had half expected, Eddy smiled and brushed through Brett's hair, carefully, lovingly.
"Bretty, love." Brett's heart fluttered upon hearing his name and the l-word put together. "Is that what has been bothering you? I've never been with a guy before either. You're my first and only and I'm honored I get to be you're first and only, at least up until now, too."
"As if there'd ever be another guy, or anyone really", Brett mumbled and looked away bashfully.
A bright glint mixed itself into Eddy's dark eyes. "Hey. We'll do whatever feels right to both of us, okay? No need to rush anything. We do whatever comes naturally, is that alright? And just because we got together doesn't mean we have to immediately well..."
It was good to know Brett wasn't the only one who got flustered.
Brett nodded and actually felt a ton of weight finally leaving his shoulders for good. Eddy seemed to notice his relaxation, because he asked: "You better?"
"Yeah. I really am. Thank you. I was freaking out to be honest." He chuckled a bit at the thought of how stupidly self conscious he had felt.
" I figured. You normally would choose playing smash over a movie."
Brett slapped Eddy's shoulder. "We can always switch. I just didn't want you to suffer defeat on Christmas Eve."
"Oh Bro! It is on! I show you defeat!", Eddy exclaimed, but before he went to turn on their switch, he leaned over and kissed Brett's ear softly, before he whispered: "But just for the record. It's not like I don't WANT you. You're just too damn good at seducing me."
Brett could only gawk at his best friend, as he waltzed over to the tv with a mischievous grin.
