01:00 PM. WAKANDA, AFRICA
something that kills y/n right now is that she needs to keep the conoliser safe so she's going to go find him and hide him. even though she wants to watch her husband.
"agent ross?" y/n mumbles, walking into shuri's lab. he pops up from behind a manequin, looking at the future queen.
"uh hi," he says. "is everything okay?"
"i need to hide you somewhere," y/n says, motioning for him to follow her. everett looks at her in shock before swiftly following her.
"what? why? what happened?" he says as she pushes him into a small cloest as guards walk past y/n. they bow out of respect and cross their arms out of respect and y/n does the same. everett pops out, y/n nodding for him to contiue to follow her.
"my husband," y/n mumbles in annoyance. but that word shocked everett. "has decided to do something stupid with that big ego of his,"
"wait, so you're finally back together?" everett says a slow smile on his face. he remembers the first time he met t'challa, who was and still absolutely smitten about a loced up red head. "finally. it was starting to get painful,"
y/n glares at him, making him chuckle.
"i'm just saying, you both deserve each other," everett says as y/n leads him into a spare office, full of africain prints and decor.
"thank you ross," y/n says with a sweet smile. "hide in here, i'll come get you when t'challa wins," everett nods, waving as y/n closes the door.

y/n runs out to the challenge grounds in a changed attire, just in case. her hoops on each side of her hip, her locs tied up. obviously, it is illegal for her to step into the fight, but y/n would and will risk everything for him.
she watches as the blood pours out of t'challa's mouth as he has just drank the liquid that strips him off his powers. the black veins dissappear, t'challa feeling strong enough to stand up again.
y/n stand next to okoye who looks over to her.
"where is agent ross?" she asks.
"i put him in a spare office," y/n says, looking at her husband and her husband's cousin, who are about to start dueling.
"this is your last chance," t'challa tells his cousin. "throw down your weapons, and we can handle this another way,"
n'jadaka slams down his weapons onto the rock, looking at t'challa.
"i've lived my entire life waitin' for this moment," n'jadaka says. "i tried, i lied, i killed...just to get here," he lists off, taking off his jacket. he takes off his top, showing all the bumps on his skin. a better word, scars. "i killed in america, afghanistan, iraq," t'challa glances on the scars on his relavtives body. "i took like from my own brother's and sisters right here on this continent," n'jadaka grabs both weapons in his hands. "and all this death..." he points the spears towards t'challa. "just so i could kill you,"
t'challa looks over at y/n with a smile, y/n looking back in concern and fear. t'challa looks at zuri and nods, zuri nodding back.
shuri and ramonda look out to their relavtives, not believing that is happening.
"let the challenge begin," zuri says, slamming his staff down. he walks out of the way, n'jadaka lunging for t'challa. the weapons collide, making y/n start to fiddle with her ring. he's got to win. he promised her.
t'challa ends up throwing n'jadaka onto the wet rocks.
"yield!" he shouts, but n'jadaka isn't giving up this easily. he gets back up, the weapons colliding again and this time, t'challa cuts n'jadaka's cheek. n'jadaka grunts, fury in his eyes. they lunge towards each other again.
n'jadaka kicks t'challa down, making the king splash into the water. he also cuts's t'challa's thigh, on the idea, making t'challa stumble at the sudden pain.
"snap out of it, t'challa!" shuri yells as n'jadaka and t'challa continue to battle. n'dajaka cut's t'challa in his stomach, making him graon out in pain.
okoye's mask falters, tears ready to spill from her eyes. y/n's goes to step forward but okoye grabs her friends arms. tears are already spilling from y/n's. but t'challa needs to do this by himself.
when t'challa goes to punch n'jadaka, he already stabs the spear into t'challa's stomach. romaonda gasps, tears spilling from shuri's eyes.
y/n's breathing stops. what can she do? she can't do anything? she searches for t'challa's eyes to look back at her and he doesn't. he can't face his queen. especially since the only find on his mind is breaking the promise. not the emmense pain, he should be feeling.
he kneels infront of n'jadaka, who then punches him in the face. twice.
"get up baby," y/n says, twisting the ring on her finger. "please baby, get up,"
n'jadaka punches him again, making t'challa groan as his face hits the rocky wet ground.
"this is for my father," n'jadaka says, raising his weapon, ready to kill t'challa.
"erik!" zuri shouts, colliding his staff with n'jadaka's weapon.
"zuri no..." t'challa mumbles.
"stop!" zuri says, hitting n'jakada's weapon onto the ground with his staff.
"zuri," okoye calls out.
"zuri, don't!" ramonda shouts.
"i am the cause of your father's death," zuri says, looking at n'jadaka. "not him," he motions to t'challa. "take me,"
"i'll take you both, uncle james," and with that zuri takes his last breath and falls towards the wet floor.
"no!" t'challa screams out in anguish. okoye's mask is still up but on the inside she is screaming out in pain. y/n gasps, fresh tears falling from her face. she's stuck in her place. what can she do? "zuri no!" t'challa shouts out in pain, blood spilling form his mouth. "no! no! zuri! zuri!" t'challa crawls over to him, feeling a spear under the water. he grabs it, rage filling his eyes. he swings it towards n'jadaka, who dodges it with ease.
"is this your king?" the cousin calls out. "huh?" t'challa continues to try and land a hat on n'jadaka but he keeps dogding. n'jadaka punches him in the gut and knees him in the face. "the black panther, who's susposed to lead you into the future?"
"come on, brother!" shuri screams out.
"is there nothing that can be done?" a dora milaje asks okoye, who's lips are quivering. the silence is a big enough answer already.
"him? he's susposed to protect you?" t'challs tries to throw a punch but results in n'jadaka throwing him over his shoulders. he walks over to the cliff's edge. fearing spiking in y/n's heary.
"no," y/n says.
"no," romonda repeats in horror. n'jadaka throws t'challa over the cliff, making him spash into the cool water. "no!" the mother screams out. the loss of her first born.
"nah, i'm your king," n'jadaka says. y/n snaps out of turning emoitionaless. she goes over to the queen and princess, putting her hand on their arms. shuri clutches onto the necklace. the one she made for t'challa.
"we need to go," y/n says. "now, let's go," the two follow the new widow, as zuri second takes a beaded necklace, putting it on n'jadaka. everyone crosses their arms in respect of the new king. but everyone knows the old king was better.
