I watched as her head bumped against the car window causing her to jerk up, her eyes shooting open.
She rubbed her eyes, a small yawn escaping her pink lips before her eyes began fluttering closed again as the rest of us chuckled.
I cupped the back of her head and placed it on my shoulder. Her beautiful brown doe eyes met my sapphire ones, a small 'thank you' escaping her lips before her eyes fluttered closed again.
In a matter of seconds, my breath-taking angel was fast asleep, her breaths becoming softer as she drifted deeper into sleep.
"She's adorable" Miles smiled as he shifted, leaning his head against the window.
"Yeah. When she's not shouting or kicking or punching" Jordan stated, rolling his eyes.
"I'm pretty sure she's adorable even when she's doing all of that," Kat laughed.
"That's because she hasn't punched you in the face" Jordan countered.
He winced as he held his jaw. "It has been a fucking day and it still hurts"
"What did you do?" Miles chuckled.
"I found her sleeping on the couch and I tried to wake her up"
"You should know better than to wake her when she's sleeping," Kat laughed.
"That's one thing I'm always scared to do. And I've lived with her for 3 years" Miles laughed.
"Kiss it better, babe?" Jordan pouted, tapping the side of his jaw.
Kat's face flushed, turning a deep shade of red that matched that of her hair as she looked around the car.
"I can't do that here" She whispered.
"There's nothing to be embarrassed about. With all the pda these two do, we're used to it" Miles stated, rolling his eyes at a sleeping Olive and I.
With flamed cheeks, Kat placed a kiss to Jordan's jaw before pulling away almost immediately. Jordan grinned as he pulled Kat into his chest, placing a lingering kiss to the side of her head.
"Speaking of pda" I smirked, my eyes moving to Griffin's hand that was placed on Miles's thigh. Miles's cheeks heated up but Griffin wasn't phased.
Matter of fact, I don't even think he heard what I said. His eyes remained fixed on Olive, focused on her peaceful sleeping face and a smile lingering on his face.
The way he looked at her - with love and admiration - reflected the way he used to look at Scarlett, his little sister.
I'm pretty sure his parents were still affected by her death despite the fact that his dad jokes about not being able to finish Viktor Ivanov off all those years ago.
I still remember the story my dad told me when he got home that night.
I was 16 at that time and I had just begun my training to become the next heir of the Russo mafia.
There had been a mission. My dad and Vincent were assigned to lead some other members from both of their mafias to an abandoned warehouse where the Ivanovs were suspected to have been hiding.
Upon arriving at the warehouse, they realized they had been set up as the Ivanovs' men greatly outnumbered their own.
It was a fight to the death and my dad and Vincent realized that they wouldn't survive if they didn't fall back, so they did.
They split up. My dad led the remaining surviving men out of the warehouse through an escape path that Vincent made as he fought through the rival men.
They were so close to escaping but HE appeared in front of them. Both my dad and Vincent were shocked to see Viktor Ivanov, the leader of the Russian mafia, at the warehouse.
Vincent decided to take him head on, creating an opening for my dad to lead the rest of the men out of the warehouse safely.
Somehow, Vincent had managed to pin Viktor down and was about to kill him when he revealed that he had a 14 year old son and a 10 year old daughter who had just recently made a new friend.
Vincent had always had a soft spot for children so even though he wanted to, he couldn't bring himself to kill Viktor.
My attention was brought back to Griffin who continued to stare at Olive. The smile on his face slowly faded and a small frown etched on to his face.
"You knew why she was crying back at the house?" He asked, finally turning to Miles.
Miles' face fell into a small frown as he nodded his head.
"Can you tell me why?"
"She had a nightmare" I answered, staring down at my sleeping girl on my shoulder.
I have known that Olive often gets nightmares. The first time I realized it was when I went over to her place that she shared with Miles, back when she was still tutoring me.
It was very embarrassing for me when I heard her say stay and I assumed she was talking to me but rather, she was talking to her dad in her dream.
After that, her nightmares stopped for a while but came back again after she got drunk at the club.
At this point, everyone's attention was on Miles and I.
"Do you know what they are about?" Griffin asked and I shook my head.
"But I'm guessing it has something to do with her late dad?"
"I know what they are about but it isn't in my place to tell you" Miles stated.
"You can ask her about it yourselves though and when she's ready, she'll tell you"
The rest of us hummed in response.
Everyone was lost in their own thoughts after Miles finished talking and the rest of the limo ride was spent in silence.
At some point, I found myself battling sleep as my eyes fluttered closed and before I knew it, I was fast asleep, resting my head against Olive's much smaller one.
A while later, the limo stopped moving and my eyes fluttered open. Scanning around the limo, I noticed that I wasn't the only person who had fallen asleep.
Griffin still had his head on Miles's shoulder, his eyes still shut closed while Miles looked at him with the softest smile I had ever seen on his face.
Kat and Jordan rubbed their eyes, pulling away from each other and looking as dazed as ever as they too looked around the limo before opening the door and climbing out.
My attention was brought to the lady who lifted her head off of my shoulder. She clasped her hand over her mouth as she yawned before nudging Griffin who sat opposite of her.
"We're here" She muttered.
"Where's here?" Griffin's sleep laced voice groaned as he lifted his head off of his boyfriend's shoulder.
"I'm not really sure"
Her small frame turned to me. "Where are we?"
"My parent's house. We are supposed to pick them and Griffin's parents up, remember?" I chucked as she nodded her head.
Miles and Griffin got out of the car and Olive and I followed behind them. I chuckled as Olive's mouth fell open when she looked at my parent's new safe house.
"Isn't the whole point of a safe house to be safe and go unnoticed?" Olive asked.
Her head craned up, staring at the house as Wyatt, Xamira, Diego and the kids joined us.
"This is very very noticeable" She pointed out.
A small smile spread across her face as Deja and Jada ran up to her.
"That's what I said" Mira chuckled, bouncing Jayden in her arms.
"It's smaller than the last one though," Kat pointed out.
"Smaller my ass. This is still big enough to house the whole of L.A" Miles stated.
"That's a bit dramatic don't you think?" Griffin asked, smiling slightly.
"It's still big enough to hold galas they have all the time" Jordan stated.
"I think that was the point" Diego chuckled, taking a now sleeping Jayden from Xamira and balancing him in his arms.
Mira sighed, stretching her arms out before placing a small kiss on her husband's cheek, causing his face to heat up slightly.
"We're here to pick up my parents and the Donatos" I told the guards at the gate house.
They talked amongst themselves before bringing a fingerprint and retinal scanner device to me. After placing my thumb on the device, and having them scan my eyes, they finally opened the gate, letting us into the house.
I understood why they were taking so many precautions though. After all, Ivanov had once disguised himself as the old Trig teacher back at the college, there's no telling what they could come up with next.
We stopped in front of the large double doors, knocking on them. The two doors were immediately pulled open by some workers, who bowed, greeting us as we walked in.
"Finally" Vincent sighed as soon as he saw us, leading us into the living room.
"Pop pop" Deja and Jada giggled, running into his arms that were spread wide open.
"I've missed my two little rascals" He laughed as he stood up, lifting them both on each of his arms.
"Dove sono- Oh" Dad walked into the living room, wiping his hands on a towel as he stared at us before turning back to Vincent and the girls.
(Where are they- Oh)
"Avresti potuto dire qualcosa" Dad scolded his best friend before turning back to us.
(You could have said something)
"Nonno" The girls squealed, wiggling out of Vincent's arms before running to my dad, tackling him into a hug.
(grandpa)
"Hey girls. Are you excited for our trip?" He asked as the girls pulled away.
"Super excited" They giggled before running back to Vincent who immediately lifted them onto his arms again.
"Nuora" He smiled, pulling Olive in for a hug.
Olive's cheeks flamed up as she hugged him back before pulling away.
"You've been calling me daughter-in-law?" She asked, her voice barely audible as she stared at her feet.
"You understood that?" He asked, looking down at her surprised.
"She's been learning Italian" I smirked.
I snaked my hands around her waist, the cold silver of my rings, coming in contact with the small skin the crop top didn't cover causing her to let out a small gasp.
"I hate to be that person... but what smells so good?" Wyatt asked, his eyes darting to a door.
"Sofia and Laura have been cooking" Jordan smirked, heading to the door Wyatt's eyes were fixed on.
He was about to head in when the door opened, barely brushing past him, revealing mum and Laura, holding trays of food.
"Let me help" Olive offered, taking the tray from my mum who flashed her a grateful smile.
"Where's the dining room?" Kat asked, taking the tray Laura was holding as well.
"This way, girls" Vincent smiled, still holding up Deja and Jada in his hands as he led them to the dining room.
"Would you boys be so kind as to help your mothers in the kitchen?" Laura asked as she headed back through the door.
Mum, Griffin and I trailed behind her, leaving Miles, Jordan, Mira, Wyatt and Diego in the living room.
"How much food did you make?" I chuckled, noticing the different plates of food they had prepared.
"We know it was a long drive here. Besides, there are a lot of you and we need you all fed for the trip ahead of us." Mum stated.
"There will be food on the jet though" I countered, putting some plates on a tray.
"Yes but you need to eat before then. Plus, we didn't know what you guys would prefer so we kind of went overboard" Laura laughed before handing Griffin a tray with plates of food on it as well.
"What about your luggage?" Griffin spoke up, staring at our mothers.
"The workers are loading it into the limo as we speak, don't worry" Mum smiled, grabbing a covered bowl before heading out of the kitchen.
Laura, Griffin and I followed behind her, signaling the rest of our friends to join us in the dining room. Soon, everyone was seated at the dining table as mum, Griffin, Laura and I placed the trays of food on the table, similar to what Kat and Olive had done.
Everyone helped themselves to the food, taking what they would like to eat and soon, the sound of laughter filled the dining room.
"Are you going to tell them?" My attention turned to Miles who sat on the opposite side of the table, next to Griffin.
"They already know who you are '' Griffin stated, placing a forkful of lasagna into his mouth.
"But they don't know me as... you know" He frowned.
Griffin sighed, standing from his seat beside Olive before pulling Miles with him and heading over to the side of the table where his parents and mine sat.
"Mum. Dad. You remember Miles?" Griffin asked.
"Yeah. The doctor you're always telling me about right?" Laura smiled, turning to Miles.
"I'm not always telling you about him," Griffin groaned, despite the light red hue that appeared on the bridge of his nose.
Miles, on the other hand, wasn't as composed as Griffin as he covered his face with his hands.
"I'm pretty sure you talk about him whenever we call to check on you. You always manage to find a way to bring him up. You two must be really close friends-"
"He's my boyfriend," Griffin stated, cutting off his dad.
At this point, everyone around the table had stopped eating and were now staring at Miles, Griffin and his parents.
"Boyfriend?" Dad grinned.
"I didn't know you liked guys Griff" Mum smirked, winking at Griffin whose face flushed.
"He swings both ways. Just like me" Miles finally spoke up.
"Whatever the case. We are so happy for the both of you" Laura smiled, pulling both Miles and Griffin into a hug.
Miles rubbed his neck as they pulled away, noticing a glaring Vincent.
"If you hurt him, we're going to have a serious problem," Vincent stated.
"I-I promise I won't-" Miles started but was cut off by Griffin.
"He's talking to me" He sighed and Miles's eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"I can already see how much he cares about you just by the way he looks at you. You fuck this up, Griff and I'll never forgive you" Vincent said.
"And you wonder why I blocked you" Griffin sighed causing everyone to erupt into a fit of laughter as he pulled Miles back to their seats.
"That was cute," Olive smiled.
"It was," I agreed as I noticed her looking around the table.
"What are you looking for?"
"The salad" She mumbled and I chuckled.
"Mamma, can you pass the salad?" I asked and she smiled, passing it to my dad.
My dad passed the bowl of salad to Laura and Laura passed it to Vincent. Vincent passed the bowl to the twins who giggled as they passed it to Kat. Kat then passed it to Jordan who passed it to Diego.
Diego managed to use one hand to pass the bowl to Mira while the other one was securely wrapped around Jayden who was still sleeping peacefully on his father's chest. Mira smiled and passed the bowl to me.
"You all just played a game of pass the parcel" Wyatt chuckled before shoving a forkful of salad into his mouth.
"Shut up" Everyone chorused before erupting into a series of chuckles.
I took off the lid of the bowl, revealing the fruit salad before dishing it into a small plate.
"Xavier. What are you doing?" My dad asked.
"Taking out the pineapple" I chuckled, continuing to use a fork to take out the pineapple from the fruit salad.
"Why? You love pineapple" My mum stated.
"I do. But Olive's allergic so we can't have pineapple" I stated.
I pushed the pineapple free salad over to the small black haired lady, whose face was flushed, sitting beside me.
"You didn't have to do that" She whispered, poking the fruits in her plate with her fork.
"I did. Now eat or I'm going to feed you" I warned and her face flushed even more.
I smiled as she handed me the fork before opening her mouth. I picked a berry with the fork before bringing it to her mouth.
Olive happily munched on the berry while I brought a grape to my mouth, eating with her.
"Awww" Everyone chorused and I rolled my eyes.
"He's whipped isn't he?" Vincent laughed.
"You don't even know" The rest of my friends chorused.
Before long, we finished eating and cleared the dishes and we were now heading outside to the three parked limos.
"We'll take the kids and give you two a break" Laura smiled, taking a now woken up Jayden from his dad.
"Thank you" Mira sighed as Deja and Jada ran to mamma, hugging her knees.
"We'll see you guys at the hangar" Vincent said before they all got into their limo.
Olive, Diego, Mira and I got into one limo while Griffin, Miles, Jordan, Kat and Wyatt got into one.
Olive rested her head on my shoulder, her eyes fluttering closed as soon as the limo started moving.
"How are you two already sleepy?" Mira chuckled, running her hand through Diego's hair when he placed his head in her lap.
"I don't know" They mumbled at the same time.
I chuckled, pulling Olive into my lap before moving to the door, placing my back against it. She moved around, getting herself comfortable before she finally relaxed, placing her head against my chest.
"Wake me up as soon as we get there" She mumbled, a soft sigh escaping her lips when my hands snaked inside her shirt, rubbing up and down her back.
"Of course, princess"
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
"Ho sentito dire che stai imparando l'italiano" Mum smiled at Olive.
(I hear you are learning Italian)
The ride to the hangar had been a quick one. I had managed to fall asleep with Olive in my arms and before I knew it, we had arrived.
I've noticed that I've been falling asleep around her a lot lately and unfortunately, I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing.
The 'I expected this' look on Olive's face when she saw the plain black hangar caused me to let out a small chuckle.
For security purposes, the limos had to park outside of the hangar's compound and we had to perform a series of fingerprint scans and retinal scans before we were let in.
"Si. Xavier mi sta insegnando e sto diventando piuttosto bravo" She smiled back.
(Yes. Xavier is teaching me and I'm getting pretty good at it)
"Non ascoltarla, è già fluente ed è passato appena un mese." I scoffed, my arm resting on the small of her back.
(Don't listen to her, she's already fluent and it's barely been a month.)
"È la stessa cosa per te e il francese." She snapped back.
(It's the same with you and French)
"Je ne sais pas de quoi tu parles." I smirked, placing a small kiss to her nose.
(I don't know what you are talking about)
"Remember when you were still romantic like that, Vincent?" Laura sighed, turning to her husband who had a sleeping Deja in his arms.
"What do you mean were? I'm plenty romantic" Vincent defended.
"Yeah, because gifting your wife a bucket of chicken for your 20 year anniversary is romantic," Dad chuckled, softly rocking a sleeping Jada in his arms.
"The day you try that Mattia, I'm kicking you out of my house for a week" Mum warned my dad.
I could tell that Olive thought she was joking, but the scared look on my dad's face told her otherwise.
"She won't actually do that right?" She whispered to me.
"She's actually done worse" I chuckled.
"Remind me who was talking to you?" Vincent asked, a frown etching onto his face as he glared at his best friend.
"He has a point dad," Griffin stated, stifling a chuckle as a small smile appeared on his face.
The bridge of Griffin's nose turned a light shade of red as Olive poked the side of his cheek.
"Have I told you how much I love your smile?" She asked him.
"You have dimples, just like me" She added.
She smiled as well and just like she said, her dimples were shown, indented on each cheek.
"What about my smile?" I pouted, causing her to giggle.
"Why would she compliment your smile?" Wyatt asked.
"I definitely wouldn't if I were her. Especially considering the fact that she couldn't walk for two days straight after you wrecked her shit-"
"Shut up, Wyatt" I scolded, shutting him up instantly while everyone laughed.
"He's bullying me and you guys are allowing it" He huffed.
"You just don't know when to stop talking" Derrick pointed out, his eyes fixed on his phone.
Wyatt's brothers had been waiting outside the hangar compound for us when he arrived and they joined us as soon as we were allowed inside, leading us to the hangar.
"And you don't know when to stop using that damn phone. This is supposed to be a vacation for goodness sake" Zayn sighed, snatching his brother's phone.
"Vacation my ass," Xamira scoffed, rolling her eyes. "We're still going to work while we're in Italy"
"Sweetie, that was a tad bit loud" Diego whispered.
Mira flashed Diego an apologetic smile as he bounced Jayden in his arms, trying to lull him back to sleep.
I could only imagine how they were feeling. All their kids were finally asleep and they finally had a moment of peace but it could be ruined at any moment.
"She has a point though. With all the meetings with the different mafia leaders and the alliance ball, there's hardly going to be enough time for us to rest" Arlo explained.
"Alliance ball?" Olive asked, tugging on the sleeve of my dress shirt to get my attention.
"I'll explain in the jet" I promised.
"Babe, you're going to hurt yourself," Jordan sighed, grabbing all of our attention.
"Miles, let her go. If she gets hurt, Jordan will murder you" Griffin pointed out.
"But you won't let him, you love me too much" Miles chuckled as he adjusted Kat who was on his back, her arms wrapped around his neck.
Griffin's face flushed as he rolled his eyes, letting out a heavy sigh.
"You guys are no fun" Kat whined, kicking her legs against Miles's side. "Faster"
"Do that again and I swear I'll drop you on the concrete" Miles snapped at her.
"At least let me carry you," Jordan pleaded, concerned for Kat's safety.
"Fine" She mumbled.
Miles crouched down enough, allowing her to climb off his back before she climbed onto Jordan's back.
We walked for a few minutes before we arrived at the hangar. The pilots had already moved the jets out of the hangar and had prepared everything for us.
I was pretty certain that the airline crew we hired were already in the plane and some of our workers were waiting by the stairs of the jet, ready to assist us.
I smirked as Olive admired my black jet that had my initials 'XR' engraved on the tail, in white and my parents white jet that had their initials 'S&M' engraved on theirs.
"Mamma, papa? Can we go on the airplane with pop pop, nonno, nonna and gramma?" Deja asked while Jada nodded behind her, clutching onto Laura's hand.
"Gramma?" Olive giggled.
"I tried to get them to say grandma instead but they stuck with that" Laura explained, laughing softly.
"You don't want to fly with mommy?" Mira asked her two girls who shook their heads.
"Are you mad, mamma? Papa" Jada whispered and Mira laughed.
"Of course not sweet peas. You want to spend time with your grandparents, we understand that" Diego smiled as the girls hugged his knees.
"But if you don't mind, mamma, I want Jayden to stay with us," Mira said, turning to our mother.
"Of course, honey," Mum smiled.
"Are you guys coming or not?" Wyatt asked, standing at the top of the stairs that led to the entrance of the jet.
"I think I'll come with you guys. You know, to make sure you're safe" I offered but Arlo and Derrick stopped me.
"We'll go with them," Arlo chuckled.
"Plus, I think your girl would prefer that" Derrick smiled, winking at Olive whose face flushed.
"Now go. We'll meet up in Venice, in about 13 hours" Dad smiled.
Derrick, Arlo, Laura, Vincent, Mamma and papa made their way to their jet while Olive and I climbed into mine, Diego and Xamira following behind us.
"It's beautiful" Olive swooned, admiring the jet's interior design as she took a seat on the couch next to Miles.
"It's not too boring for you" I teased, taking a seat beside her.
"No. It's actually really pretty" She gushed.
"Better get comfortable" Jordan sighed as Xamira and Diego sat on the single seaters that were opposite one another.
"This is going to be a long ride"
