Tears pricked at the corner of my eyes as I stared down at her body. She was slowly but surely losing blood and she lost consciousness occasionally.
I held her body close to mine as I rocked her back and forth.
It was my fault. It was my fucking fault. I knew what would happen if I brought her to the ball.
HE fucking warned me about the dangers of bringing her but did I fucking listen? No.
I'm too fucking selfish.
She turned her head back to me as I desperately pulled her closer to me. "You're going to be okay" I kept repeating as I rocked her against me.
Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, her eyes darting over to her hands which were stained by her blood before realization set in.
A sad smile made its way to her face as she watched more blood pour out of her stomach, slowly.
She let out a small sigh as she forced herself to cup my face, wiping away the tears that had fallen onto my cheek.
"It's okay" She managed to say, her voice coming out small and hoarse as her eyes fluttered closed.
God no. Please no.
"Don't you fucking dare" Miles voice boomed causing her eyes to shoot open.
he and Griffin jumped over the table that was protecting Olive and I, Kat, Xamira and Jordan covering them.
"Don't you fucking dare close your eyes" He repeated, wiping away the tears from her eyes.
"You still owe me 20 dollars so don't fucking think that dying will relieve you from your debt because I will follow you to the fucking grave" Miles said, rolling his eyes but a stray tear rolled down his face.
"Can you walk?" Griffin asked her, his face etched with concern.
He pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket and placed it firmly on her bullet wound, replacing his hand with hers before pressing over it.
With my help, she managed to get into a squatting position, still protected by the table that was in front of us. She feebly nodded my head.
"Wyatt is over by the back door. Xavier will follow you to make sure you get to him safely while I will follow the both of you to make sure you get to him safely. He's going to help with your injury, all right?" Griffin explained, cocking his gun.
"His brother, Zayn. He's a doctor" Miles said, noticing the confused look on her face.
I understood that Miles couldn't help her out, even though he was a doctor as well, because he had to cover for us and make sure we got to the backdoor safely.
I managed to compose myself and hand her over to Zayn, even though I didn't trust him because I knew that he would help her.
"Chica" Kat's voice boomed and Olive's eyes fell on her.
She smirked at her out of the corner of her eyes as she flipped a man over by his arm, pressing her bare foot to his face. "Get through this"
"Yeah" Xamira grunted, smiling as she threw her heels at a masked guy - it landed in his eye causing him to let out a blood curdling scream.
"You're a boss bitch. If you die because of a simple bullet, I'll be fucking pissed"
"I'll personally wear pink to your funeral and dance on your grave if you die now" Jordan stated as he shot a bullet at the intruders - the bullet piercing through two of the guys' chest.
She forced a small smile as Miles pushed the table away from the wall a little, creating a small space where Olive, Griffin and I could escape from.
I noticed masked men aiming their gun at Olive as soon as the opening from the table was created and that's when I remembered.
They weren't here for me.
They were here for her.
"On three," Griffin said, his gun firmly in his hand. "One. Two-"
"Fuck this" I muttered before scooping her into my arms and making a run for it.
She buried her face in my chest as I ran towards the back door, Griffin cursing me out as he ran behind us.
We managed to get to the back door unharmed and I carefully put Olive down, making sure that she didn't have any more injuries.
Her eyes fell on the red spot on my stomach, worry eminent in her brown orbs.
"I'm okay" I smiled, placing a kiss on her forehead.
I wasn't shot. Her blood had just rubbed off on my suit but I couldn't tell her that
"What the actual fuck was that, Xavier?" Griffin spat in my face after he checked to make sure that Olive was okay.
"I protected her?" I shot back, shoving Griffin back a bit in order to get him out of my face.
"We had a fucking plan. Did you not hear me or did you just choose to be stupid?" Griffin asked, his voice a little louder as he shoved me back, much harder than I did to him.
"Please- stop" She muttered as her hands pressed against Griffin's - now red - handkerchief that was attached to her side.
"Touch me again and I'll fucking kill you" I spat at Griffin, grabbing him by his collar.
"She's been fucking shot and you choose now to argue?" Wyatt spat, his voice laced with venom as he came in through the back door.
Griffin and I scoffed but stopped arguing as Wyatt pulled her into his arms, his arms securely positioned underneath her and at her back, keeping her in place.
"How are you holding up, grumpy?" He teased, staring down at her.
Wyatt sighed as she didn't respond, knowing that his plan to make her smile had failed.
"You're going to be okay" Wyatt smiled down at her, pulling her impossibly closer to him before turning to Griffin and I.
"Go make sure the others are okay"
We both nodded. Griffin made his way to her first, placing a quick kiss on her cheek.
"Don't die, small fry" He smiled before heading back to the ballroom, his fingers on the trigger of his gun.
"Princess," I started as I cupped her cheek gently, my hand caressing my face very carefully - she felt so fragile.
"Y-you're cold"
"I'm o-okay" She breathed out.
"This is all my fault." I said, placing my forehead on hers.
I felt tears slide down my cheek but I couldn't seem to keep the tears at bay. My heart kept sinking while my grip on her tightened.
"I shouldn't have brought you here. Now you're hurt and it's my fucking fault" I admitted.
She rolled her eyes before placing a soft kiss on my lips. "I'll be okay"
"Promise?" I asked, holding out my pinkie.
She's the only one who could make a fucking mafia don hold out his pinkie like a fucking child.
She rolled her eyes as a blush appeared on her face, locking her pinkie with mine. We both placed a kiss to our thumbs, before pressing our thumbs together.
"I promise" She smiled at me.
I sighed, placing a final kiss on her lips before running back into the ballroom.

"Stronzo" Griffin spat as soon as he tied up a few intruders. "You actual fucking asshole" He spat again, his fist colliding with my face.
Rage filled my body as I grabbed him by his caller, pinning him against the wall.
"Che cazzo mi hai chiamato?"
(The fuck did you call me?)
"You fucking heard me. This is all your fault" He shouted, pushing me off of him as he motioned around the ballroom.
3 of our guards lay dead on the floor, the other guards were badly injured and were currently being treated by the doctors we had called in and our friends were trying to catch their breath as they stared at the both of us.
Jordan led grandma Imani and grandpa Dequan as well as everyone else who were in the panic room, into the ballroom while Griffin's parents as well as my parents had smiles on their faces as they shot the four remaining masked men that we hadn't gotten.
"She is fucking hurt because of you" Griffin accused, tugging at the roots of his hair.
"You think I don't fucking know that?" I yelled back at him, furiously blinking away the tears that pooled in the corner of my eyes.
"I know I put you all at risk, I know this shit is my fault. I know all that."
"I told you to tell her. Maybe if you did, we wouldn't be in this fucking mess" He spat.
"And I told you that I fucking couldn't. How the fuck did you expect me to tell her something like that?"
"Is this a bad time to say that I'm hungry?" Jordan's voice piped up.
Everyone in the ballroom, including my parents, glared at Jordan causing him to fix his gaze on the floor.
"Sorry, you may continue"
Griffin cursed, punching the wall before letting out a sigh and running his hand through his blond hair which messily fell past his shoulders.
"Just pray she's okay, or I'll never forgive you" He said.
He turned around, facing his back to me before heading to the corner of the ballroom where the intruders we had tied up were.
"I'll take them to the warehouse and try to get some answers" He sighed as he pulled them by the rope that bound them together.
"We'll come too" Kat and Jordan said, heading after Griffin with Xamira and Miles trailing behind them.
I let out a shaky breath as I slid down the wall, letting my tears fall freely. I was alone in the ballroom with doctors who were taking care of the injured guards and guests.
My parents and Griffin's parents went outside, saying that they were going to wait for Wyatt and his brothers to come back with Olive.
I threw my head back against the wall as I cried. I deserved this. I fucking deserved all of this.
Why couldn't I just let go?
I don't know how long I cried for but the sounds of grunting pulled me out of my thoughts.
My mum carried a limping Wyatt into the room, my dad, Laura and Vincent, each assisting a Bianchi brother to get into the ballroom while one trailed behind them - he looked like the oldest.
"What happened?" I asked, making my way to my mum and Wyatt, who laid on the floor as a doctor examined him.
"A bomb. T-they knew" He sputtered out, his fist clenching as the doctor took the shards of glass out of his stomach.
My eyes scanned the room. Wyatt and his brothers were being examined by the doctors while my mom, dad, Laura and Vincent watched over them.
My breathing increased rapidly as I frantically tried to locate the familiar brown eyes.
"Wyatt" My voice shook as my eyes returned to him. "Where's Olive?"
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
"What the fuck do you mean by she's gone?" Griffin spat at Arlo, dragging him up by his collar.
"I mean she's fucking gone. Do you want me to say it in Italian?" Arlo said as he pushed Griffin's hand off of him.
"Fighting won't solve anything," Jordan said calmly.
"What exactly do you know?" Griffin yelled, turning to Jordan.
"All you do is make a joke about everything. You think that life's a fucking joke so who the fuck are you-"
"Griffin, that's enough" Xamira said, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"Don't fucking tell-"
"She said that's enough, damn it" Wyatt shouted, slamming his hands on the table in front of us.
I'm pretty sure the whole warehouse heard that.
"You're not the only one hurting, do you fucking understand?" Xamira said, grabbing him by his collar.
"We're all tearing ourselves up because we all know that we could have done a better job of saving her." Xamira continued, letting go of Griffin as tears streamed down her face.
"We're in the fucking mafia. We could've protected her" Kat said, hitting her fist against the wall.
Jordan sighed, taking her hand in his as he inspected it before placing a kiss on her knuckles. "You're going to hurt yourself, babe"
"There's something I don't get though" Miles said and everyone turned to him. "Why are you talking like she's already dead?"
"Miles-" Griffin started but Miles shook his head.
"I don't like that. Don't talk like she's fucking dead when we all know for a fact that she's not" Tears pooled at the corner of his eyes as he yelled at Griffin.
I realized a very important fact at that moment. Olive had made such an impact in our lives that we were all scared of losing her.
She was the glue that held us all together. She was my glue. She was mine.
And I fucking lost her.
"Miles," Xamira sighed, rubbing his back. "It's the Ivanovs. We don't know what they might do to her"
"NO" Zayn yelled and all eyes turned to him. "She's not. We're going to fucking find her"
His eyes landed on me, making his way towards me and pulling me by my collar.
"Aren't you supposed to be her boyfriend and a fucking mafia don? Why the fuck are you sitting on the floor, crying when you're supposed to be looking for her?"
I pushed his hand off of me before shoving my hands into my pocket. "Touch me again and I'll kill you"
"You just met her, you don't even know anything about her" Griffin chuckled, darkly at Zayn who glared at him.
"This isn't helping anything" Derrick spoke up, fiddling with his gun.
"Zayn as well as Arlo and I are all concerned about her because we know how dangerous the Ivanovs are" He stated, his eyes never leaving Griffin's.
"That's all"
"Rather than fighting, how about the hacker starts looking for her?" Wyatt suggested, looking at Kat.
"Where exactly do you want me to start? The Ivanovs have multiple bases, you know that" She said.
"How about starting with the base that is closest to the family house?" Jordan suggested as Miles got out one of the laptops that was charging, placing it in front of Kat.
Xamira rubbed her chin in thought.
"Something's still bothering me though" She spoke up and all eyes turned to her, apart from Miles and Jordan who were helping Kat.
"What is it?" Arlo asked.
"How exactly did the Ivanovs' crash the ball? I mean, it was supposed to be a closed event right?"
"That's right," Derrick agreed. "No one could have just crashed it - it was invitation only"
"In order for their men to have gotten in, they needed to have had some sort of help from the inside right?" Zayn asked.
"So, what you're saying is that we have a mole in our mafia?" Griffin asked.
"I'm saying that we have to be careful," Xamira said, shaking her head. "Especially when we get Olive back"
Griffin's eyes drifted to mine and a scowl etched on his face.
He knew. I knew that he knew. And he knew that I knew that he knew.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
"Fuck this" Kat groaned, pushing the laptop away from her as she rubbed her eyes.
The rest of us filed into the office, slumping into chairs as we tried to catch our breath.
We have been in the warehouse's office for at least 2 hours.
Kat, Miles and Jordan were working diligently, trying to figure out where exactly Olive might be held and the rest of us would go to the places they'd pick out, to look for her.
So far, they'd singled out 10 out of the 25 bases that the Ivanovs had and we had checked 3 but none of them held Olive.
"I'm tired" Xamira sighed as she looked at her phone.
"Fucking 4 am. I'm sorry but I have to leave. Diego and the kids must be so worried"
Xamira packed up her things, heading to the door. "Call me if you find anything," She said before leaving.
"You really can't narrow it down anymore?" Derrick asked Kat who glared at him.
"You think if I could narrow it down anymore, I would keep sending you guys out there?" She snapped back at him.
"She didn't mean that" Jordan said quickly, wrapping his arm around Kat's shoulder and placing a kiss to the side of her head.
"She's just angry... and hungry. Hangry, if you will"
"I think you all are hangry" My mum smiled as she walked in, dad, Laura and Vincent following behind her.
"Why don't we take you guys back to the house for a little snack?" Laura offered sweetly, taking in our tired looks.
"And after you all eat something, we can help you look for her," Vincent suggested while my dad was busy guiding everyone out of the warehouse's office.
My eyes locked with my mother who smiled at me as she pulled me into a hug.
"Mamma-" I mumbled but she interrupted me.
"Don't worry, we'll find her" She said, almost like she was promising herself that as well.
I hope you're right, mamma.
