McCall House
Scott returns home from the Animal Clinic. "Hey sorry I'm back so late. I was closing up at the animal clinic. I got more hours to earn a little extra..." Scott said. He then saw his mom standing over the bag of money he took. "...money." Scott said. "How much more did you need?" Melissa asked. "This is payment from the Deadpool. I found it in Garrett's locker." Scott said, explaining where he got it. "This belongs to Derek?" Melissa asked. Scott nodded. "So, you're just keeping it safe for him in a gym bag underneath your bed?" Melissa asked. Scott didn't say anything. "How long have you had it?" Melissa asked. Scott sighed. "Too long." Scott said.
"You know you have to give it back..." Melissa said. "I was going to..." Scott said. "Do I want to know why you haven't?" Melissa asked. "Because of you." Scott said. "Me?" Melissa asked. She then sighed. "You mean, because we've been struggling a little?" Melissa asked. "Mom, we're struggling a lot." Scott said. "Scott, you can save people's lives, but you cannot save them from life. Life is full of struggle." Melissa said. "But it doesn't have to be!" Scott said. "Honey..." Melissa said. "Do you know what just one of these can do?" Scott asked. He pulled out some of the money. "This gets us a new roof..." Scott said. He pulled out some more.
"And this pays for Stiles' MRI..." Scott said. He pulled out more money. "This pays for Eichen House..." Scott said. He then pulled out even more money. "And this one means you don't have to work the double shift at the hospital and come home totally exhausted." Scott said. "What about this one?" Melissa asked. She handed Scott a blood-stained stack of bills.
Derek's Loft
Braeden and Derek are sleeping when the intruder alarm goes off in the loft. They grab guns scan the room. Noticing shadows under the front door they open it. A dripping wet Lydia and Leo are standing there. Leo grabbed Lydia's hand. "AIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Lydia screamed, her scream combining with Leo's psychic power, causing Derek to go flying back. Lydia stopped screaming and Leo took his hand away. They both snapped out of their trances and looked around confused. "How the hell did we get here?" Leo asked.
The next morning
Scott returns the money to Derek at the loft. Derek looked at the bag full of money before looking at Scott. "Okay." Derek said. "Don't you wanna know why it took so long to return it?" Scott asked. "How much do you make at the animal clinic?" Derek asked. "Minimum wage..." Scott said. "That's why. Everyone can be tempted, Scott-- even a True Alpha." Derek said. "You're not angry?" Scott asked. "It's not even mine. It belongs to Peter." Derek said. "Where's your money?" Scott asked. "You're standing on it." Derek said. Scott looked down at the floor before looking at Derek, eyes wide. "There's another vault?" Scott asked.
Derek laughed. "No, I own the building. And I have my own bank accounts. All the money from the vault was Peter's. I think we'd actually be better off if the rest never came back." Derek said. "I know Lydia was here last night. Deaton's still working on figuring out what Kate did to you. If anyone can find an answer, it's him." Scott said. Scott then heard someone walking down the stairs. He then saw Leo. "Okay. I know that it's weird wearing my cousin's old clothing. But, it fits and I don't hate them." Leo said. Scott saw what Leo was wearing.
"Did you stay here last night?" Scott asked. Leo nodded. "Umm, yeah. I was soaking wet, freezing and couldn't be bothered walking all the way back home." Leo said. "Then how did Lydia get back home?" Scott asked. "I dropped her off." Derek said. Scott nodded. "I'm not going to lie. That was the best sleep I've ever had since we came back from Mexico." Leo said. "Seriously?" Scott asked. Leo nodded. "Yeah. With the paranoia and the fear of being killed in my sleep can really mess up your sleep schedule." Leo said. Scott nodded in agreement. "Fair point." Scott said. "And now that the dead pool is gone, I finally managed to sleep a full night. If you exclude the whole walking in the rain to get here with Lydia thing." Leo said before smiling.
Derek looked at Leo. "You know, that suits you better than it did with me." Derek said. Leo looked at him in disbelief. "Are you kidding me? That was a lie." Leo said. Derek smiled. "I'm not lying." Derek said. Scott smiled between the two as they bickered. Scott watched Leo laugh at something Derek said. "You know that Stiles actually respects you for the whole brooding wolf thing. But you didn't here that from me." Leo said. Derek grinned. "Here what?" Derek asked. Leo smiled. "We should probably go to school if we don't want to be late." Scott said. Leo nodded. "Right." Leo said. "Wait. Before you go." Derek said.
Derek walked over to his jacket and pulled out a set of car keys. He threw them and Leo, who caught them with one hand. Leo looked at them confused. "Consider it a 'welcome to the family' kind of thing." Derek said. Leo looked confused. "You're giving me a car?" Leo asked. Derek nodded. "I have a few. Those are for my best one." Derek said. Leo smiled. "Thank you." Leo said. Derek smiled as Leo and Scott walked out of the loft. The two walked downstairs and saw a few cars lined up outside. Leo pressed a button on the car keys and they heard one of the cars go off. They both looked over and saw that the keys belonged to a 2010 Chevy Camaro.
"Oh, my god." Leo said in shock. He looked at Scott. "That's Derek's car?" Leo asked. Scott nodded. Leo grinned. "I guess being a Hale has it's perks." Leo said. Scott nodded. "What about the car you already have?" Scott asked. "Aunt Melissa can have it. She needs it more than me since her car is close to falling apart." Leo said. "Can I get a ride?" Scott asked. "Hell no. You've got your dirt bike." Leo said before walking over to the car. He climbed into the car and smiled. "I'll see you at school." Scott said. "Okay." Leo said, closing the car door. He put the key in the ignition and turned it. The car roared to life and Leo laughed. "If only mom and dad could see me now." Leo said.
He changed the gear and started driving. He saw how easy it was to drive, how he felt comfortable driving the car. He soon arrived at school and saw that people were looking at him as he parked his car. "The part I hate when it comes to things like this." Leo muttered as he climbed out the car and locked it. He saw people staring at him. "The attention it brings." Leo said before walking towards the school building. He was at his locker, grabbing books out of his locker when it was slammed shut. He saw Lydia stood there, looking at him suspiciously. "Where did you get that car? Did you steal it?" Lydia asked. Leo shook his head. "It was a gift." Leo said.
"From who?" Lydia asked. "Derek." Leo said. "Why?" Lydia asked. "He said it was a 'welcome to the family' kind of thing." Leo said. Lydia shrugged. "Just promise to give me a ride." Lydia said. Leo smiled. "Don't worry. You'll be the first person I drive with." Leo said. "Good." Lydia said before they both walked to class.
Later
Lydia was staring into space as Malia was trying to get her attention. "Lydia? Lydia." Malia said. Lydia snapped out of her daydream and looked at her. Malia held up her test paper proudly. "Did you hear me? Look! I passed!" Malia said. Lydia looked at her score and grade unimpressed. "C-minus..." Lydia said. "Your notes are great when they're not written in code." Malia said. "I'm proud of you." Leo said. Malia smiled brightly at him. Coach then placed another test on her desk. The score was 54 and her grade was an F. "Disappointed, Malia-- profoundly disappointed." Coach said before walking away. Malia sighed before looking at Lydia. "I'll send you my notes." Lydia said. She then looked at Leo. "I know. The study sessions will be on the same nights." Leo said. Malia smiled gratefully.
Lydia notices Coach's lesson on the chalkboard. He's been talking about the net worth of some of America's richest men at the time of their death. The list, with the name and amounts listed, looks very much like the Dead Pool.
NETWORTH AT TIME OF DEATH ADJUSTED FOR INFLATION
JOHN D. ROCKEFELLER: 318 BILLION
CORNELIUS VANDERBILT: 150 BILLION
HENRY FORD: 188 BILLION
Realizing what Lydia is thinking, Kira leans towards her. "It's over. The computers are off. No more assassins. No more murders. No one's dying." Kira said. Lydia sighed. "...Not yet." Lydia said. Leo grabbed her shoulder comfortingly. "Hey. If anything happens, we'll be able stop it. We always do." Leo said. Lydia nodded and took a deep breath. Leo let go of her shoulder and went back to her work.
Later
School had finished and Leo was walking back to his car when Scott rushed over to him. "I need help." Scott said. "Okay..." Leo said. "I'm taking Kira out in a date tonight. And I don't know what to do." Scott said. Leo smiled. "Okay. Well, she likes the simple things. Movies, take out, nights in. Stuff like that." Leo said. Scott nodded. "Okay." Scott said. He went to leave but Leo stopped him. "But she also likes big romantic gestures. Like fancy restaurants, gifts, and so on." Leo said. Scott started looking panicked. Leo laughed. "Okay. Don't worry. I've got it covered. I'll text or call you when I'm finished." Leo said. Scott sighed in relief. "Thank you." Scott said. "No problem." Leo said before walking to his car.
He climbed into his car and pulled his phone out. He pressed Derek's contact and put the phone to his ear. "Hey. I need a favour." Leo said.
Later
After Leo had sorted out Scott and Kira's date, he was driving home when he saw Lydia calling him. He answered the phone. "Hey." Leo said. "I need you to take me to Eichen House." Lydia said. "Why?" Leo asked confused. "Deaton's in Eichen House." Lydia said. Leo sighed. "Where are you?" Leo asked. "My house." Lydia said. "I'll be there as quick as I can." Leo said. "Ok." Lydia said before hanging up. A few minutes later, Leo arrived at Lydia's house and Lydia immediately climbed into the car before Leo started driving towards Eichen.
Later ~ Eichen House
Doctor Fenris was checking up on Deaton and sighed. "Still nothing. I think we're gonna have to move him to the sixth floor." Fenris said. Lydia and Leo then rush into the room and stop him. "You're not taking him anywhere." Lydia said. "Well, unless you're family, I don't think you can make that decision..." Fenris said. "We're close enough. Let us talk to him." Leo said. "He's not responding to any stimuli. We can talk to him, but there's no way of knowing he's actually hearing us." Fenris said. "Trust me on this-- he'll hear us." Lydia said. "It doesn't matter. Now I'm going to have to ask you to leave." Fenris said. Leo started humming and Fenris went under a trance. "You'll walk away and let us stay." Leo said. Fenris nodded and walked out the room.
Later ~ Derek's Loft
Stiles and the Sheriff join Braeden and Derek at the loft, where Scott and Kira were supposed to have their date. But instead they find a massive mess and no Scott or Kira. "What the hell happened?" Stiles asked. "It was supposed to be a date..." Derek said. "And they were both here?" The sheriff asked. Derek nodded. "And they're both gone." Braeden said. Stiles' phone started ringing and he saw it was Lydia. "Hey--" Stiles said but was cut off. "Scott's been taken." Lydia said on the other end. "Scott and Kira. We just don't know where." Stiles said. "Mexico." Leo said. "And, if you want to save his life, that's where you're going, too." Deaton said.
