Tav's POV
Jake carried me the whole way and we laughed and talk, just like the old times. It was great to see Jake back to his normal old self.
But once we reached his house, Jake was suddenly quite again.
“Jake?” I said, “Don’t worry; Billy will be glad that you are the old Jakey again.”
Jake looked at me in the eye, “Really?”
“Yes, come on.” I said, just as the door slide open.
“Jake? Tav? What happened?” Billy asked, surprised at the fact that Jake is carrying me.
“Um, Tav sprained her ankle.” Jake replied for me.
“Come in, come in” Billy said.
Once Jake placed me on the couch, he went to get me an icepack.
“So...” Billy started.
I smiled up at him.
“Is he better today?”
“Billy, it’s okay...Jake said he is slowly recovering from ... that.” I said quietly, “He just needs help from all of us.”
Billy nodded. “I am glad he feels better, ever since ...she left... Jake never smiles.”
“He is fine now, Billy” I said.
Then, Jake entered the room with the ice pack in his hands.
“Thanks, Jake.”
“No problem.” Jake said, “Dad, I think I’ll bring Tav to Sam’s house.”
“Sure, son.”
“And...Dad, I am going back to patrol.” Jake said.
Billy looked up at his son and I could see the twinkle in his eyes.
“Jake, you will do fine.” Billy said.
“Thanks, Dad.”
Jacob’s POV
We reached Sam’s house and Seth stood there, shocked that I am out of the house.
“You ready?” Tav asked.
“Yeah.” I answered.
I lifted Tav into Sam’s house and was greeted by Embry and Quil.
“Jake?” Quil asked.
“JAKEY!!!” Embry yelled.
“Hey guys.” I said.
Sam and Emily came to see us and Emily immediately saw Tav’s swollen ankle.
“Oh, what happened to your ankle, Tav?” she asked.
“Nothing mu-“Tav started.
But then I interrupted her, “Nothing much? You can’t even stand up without me helping you.”
Tav stared at me.
“Tav, I think you hurt yourself pretty badly this time. I will find some bandage.” Emily said as she fussed around Tav.
“But, Emily, I am fine-“Tav whined.
“No Tav. Embry, carry Tav to the couch for me.” Emily said.
“I can do that, Emily.” I said.
“No, Jacob. You come with me.” Sam said.
I looked at Sam, then at Tav.
“Don’t worry, Jake. Embry will take good care of me, won’t you, Embry?” Tav asked.
Embry gave her a thumb-up.
“Okay.” I followed Sam out.
“Sam, I am going to go back to patrols.” I told him.
“Good. Just take your old routine.” Sam commanded.
There was a moment of silence.
“Jake?” Sam asked, “Have you noticed...um...anything different...about...”
“Anything different about who, Sam?” I questioned.
Sam sighed. “Nothing, forget what I said.”
And With that, Sam leftme standing in total confusion.
Tav’s POV
“Ouch! Gentle, QUIL!” I yelled.
“I thought you said it was nothing much.” Quil replied.
“Well, I didn’t want to worry Emily and Jake.”
Embry snorted, “As if they won’t fuss over it, look at the size of that.” He pointed to my VERY swollen ankle.
I threw a pillow at Embry’s head.
“Hey! Play nice, Tav.” Embry said.
“So, Tav, Jake is really back to his normal self?” Seth asked.
Embry and Quil turned their head to me.
“I am pretty sure. He said he will start patrols again; plus he was laughing and joking around, just like his usual self.” I replied.
Just then, Paul and Jared came through the door.
“Hey, Tav. What are you doing here?” Paul asked me.
“Um, Jake brought me here.” I said.
Paul and Jared stared.
“Oh...Jake finally decided to get over his sad little heartbreak.” Paul said.
“PAUL!” I scolded.
“Sorry, my bad.” He said as he went to the kitchen.
“Jake is on patrol again?” Jared asked.
“Yes!” Quil and Embry said together.
I chuckled.
“Really? That’s great. No more extra shifts for us.” Jared said, grinning.
“Jared! You are almost as bad as Paul!” I sighed, as he went to join Paul in the kitchen.
Just then, Sam came back in the room, with Jakey right behind him. Jake looked confused. I wonder why, I hope he is not back to the depression again...
“Jake? You looked confuse, what’s wrong?” I asked.
“JAKE! You on patrol with me tonight?” Quil yelled in excitement.
Jake smiled and said “I was just thinking abo...Uh, Nothing. I am fine.” He looked at me in the eyes, but I could tell he was still thinking about the...nothing. But I decided not to push it.
