Do I have to be honest here or not? I am not in the position to say it here but I couldn't stop laughing about it the whole day. The outcome for the prank wars between cat and dog boys had led into something big of a punishment.
The entire academy of Decelis was buzzing in anticipation after hearing the announcement from their strictest Professor.
The announcement about the pranksters cleaning the mess they've made up the Headmaster's office by hand. No use of any magic or else they will stay as a mouse for a week.
One of that being Ni-ki who wasn't able to even run at us before an invinsible force field hold him back.
For the rest connected to the fight, they were all not safe even Jungwon and Jay. Even if they don't have something to do with the firecrackers, they were all called to clean the shed for the pegasus, which does sound like disgusting by the thought of it alone.
The order for them is to collect all the muck of those winged horses.
And here is what Jake says to me earlier before they leave me, "We have to clean at least a dozen of them. Good luck to us"
My brother also passed me by with the biggest distasteful look on his face, "Who says being the leader of fourteen wolf boys is easy?"
"I don't pity you for sure", Jungwon replied to him, which earns him a surprise look from Khan.
"So how was it dealing with six vampires in your group?", Khan asked, taking his time before following the others.
"Some of them were okay. Some of them were not", Jungwon stated. It made me laugh to catch him looking at the direction of Ni-ki.
At that time, he was still hovering in the air, looking like a side show for the students to watch. In a mouse form along his other company to the firecracker prank. Professor Min keeps juggling them above his head with his own magic.
It surely does remind me of what Mad Eye Moody did to Draco when he was turned ferret in front of everyone.
"How about dealing with fourteen of dog boys?", Jungwon addressed the wolf in such an unpleasant manner, I thought my brother would find it offensive.
He didn't. If anything, he was just having an amused smile on his face as he watch the mice form of his own boys like Maki who was squeaking out in panic, his mousy eyes looking for him directly.
"They were the kind of a giant headache to me every single day, but the kind I would never try to be rid of", Khan answered back to Jungwon, grinning when he saw the annoyed look Jo was throwing his way from before him, "Don't worry, Jo, I meant it a lot!"
He said the last part to annoy him more than to reassure him. I pulled away from looking at them, making sure to look at the conflicted Jungwon before noticing Sunghoon is dramatically crying in exaggeration for what they were about to do behind us.
Sunoo was just looking at him with the most apparent judgement expression on his face.
"Come on, Hoon, just accept it", Heeseung said to him, patting him repeatedly on the back, but it didn't help to lessen the disgust in Sunghoon's face.
"If we hurry now to the stables, the job will be done earlier", Heeseung said as he helped Sunghoon get up from the ground.
Before I could walk back to leave them into their fate, I was surprised to be pulled into a hug, "Take care while we're gone, Y/N"
"Good luck with the pegasus's poopsies", I said with a grin to Jungwon, "I can't believe they asked you all to do it"
"Don't worry Won", Jake said from behind me, "I'm sure the fairies would take care of her for us"
Jungwon smiled gratefully when he saw Hanni flopping herself down in my shoulder before I walked away for the secret room. Jake hung back as if to say a goodbye and I swatted his hand away.
"Go follow them", I muttered, brushing past him without a second glance, "And try not to vomit on the way. Good luck, Jake"
"Thank you, Y/N", he said with a grin and I casted a glance at him, only to see him waving at me.
Despite of me trying to resist my lips from stretching upwards, I couldn't stop it from the motion. Jake was just looking the cutest or in his best facial expression when he was smiling like that to me.
For a time, if I could forget what he was, he looked the most angelic person in this place.
Hanni had taken it upon herself to educate me about what to know in this school.
Apparently, it was founded by a very powerful witch but there were also rumors of her being a goddess and had even taught the first generation of students.
I vaguely heard her mention something about the founder's connections to the vampires. I tried to pay attention to her words. I did but all I could think about was all of the eyes following us as we walked further into the halls of this academy.
Perhaps I felt too nervous by their stares, I went to enter the first door I saw and Hanni was quick to fly in behind me, so she was there to see me leaning my back against the door while trying to calm myself down.
Why they were looking at me like that nowadays? Like I'm the most interesting one to watch in their academy.
"Y/N?", Hanni called to me as she dropped down to my shoulder, "Look where did you brought us to"
"Oh?", I glanced curiously around the room and I remember this one being the same room where Sunoo had shown me the goddes of the vampires, Selene.
She is still here, up in the frame of her painting and gazing down at me. Still as dignified, ethereal and looking ageless like the first time I saw her here.
"This rook was forbidden to anyone but I can say that lady with a cat kind of resembles you, Y/N", Hanni confessed as I walked closer to the painting, drawn to her somehow.
Hanni cast a warm smile at me when she noticed how I was taking in to Selene; it really is a wonder to realized that what she said is right. The more I studied her closer, the painting of the woman was starting to resemble some of my features.
I was confident that maybe just maybe she is related to me.
"What if you were a descendant of the moon goddess?", Hanni asked, still staring at Selene before us.
"That doesn't sound right, but then I don't know the whole scope of my family tree", I murmured absentmindedly, feet coming onto a halt on their own as we were now just one hand away from the painting.
Hanni didn't say another word as we instead both whipping our head to hear the opening of a door behind us and I found myself being face to face with none other than Kim Sunoo.
When Sunoo went to cast a look on me, I hurriedly turned my attention back on Hanni but fairies does seem to have a penchant for popping out of the situation they don't want to be a part of yet.
Only I couldn't focus for long. Not when I was taken aback by the tunnel opening up from near my feet. It looks to be leading somewhere down in the dungeons or maybe even somewhere deeper.
"I left them to fend for themselves from that smelly stables", Sunoo said, sounding no parts unapologetic, "Why are you here, Y/N?"
"I have no idea", I said vaguely, looking back to the tunnel and seeing a blue wisp of fire lighting up the tunnel below.
I turned back to see Sunoo now standing in my side, also looking down curiously to what I found and actually trying to see what was down there.
"Do you know what you just triggered to open in this room?", he asked and I could only shrug my shoulder.
The true question here is: why does it look like he wanted to venture down there with me? What if there was ghouls or any creatures that could eat us and is now just waiting?
At my lack of response, Sunoo released a long suffering groan, "Y/N, I understand the hesitance but whatever is down there have something to do with you"
I couldn't help but nod, agreeing softly, "We should go then. Just please don't let something bad happen to me"
"Do you trust me to protect you?", he asked, with his eyes the only thing that I could see.
I nodded, making sure to smile sincerely at him, "No doubt about it, Sunoo"
You only need to take one look at his innocent visage, at the long lashes whenever it flutters or in the way his eyes were watery in some lighting and you would no doubt trust it the most than the others.
Goodness, was it just me or did he seemed relieved that I responded positively?
His shoulders had eased slightly as he considered me now and I had to look away from him. And then with a hand to his arm, we were both descending down to the depths of their academy.
And then the new round of questioning began somehow at the most strange but still wonderful things waiting for us in that tunnel.
