Y/N POV
After a good cry and some cuddling with Lizzie, she makes me dinner and we take a bath together when we get home. It was very nice and exactly what I needed. Spending quality time with my sunshine fixes everything. Friday morning we decide to have a breakfast date.
We go to the cafe that we met at after the award show and find a spot in the back for a light snack before we head to the studio. I can't help but stare at her as she munches on her muffin and I smile softly at how adorable she looks. She looks up and catches my stare but I could care less. "What?" She asks softly and I shrug.
"You're just cute." I respond and smile wider when a blush fills her cheeks.
My mind continues to wander and I think about the twins and Lizzie's family. The twins know about us and my family does, but I wonder if her parents know.
"Does your mom know we are together?" I ask and she just about chokes on her food. I frown and slide her water closer to her, watching as she gulps it down and wipes at the corner of her mouth.
"Um, well I mean...she's seen the pictures." She offers.
"What pictures?" I ask, tilting my head in confusion.
"The pictures of us walking around together this week." She explains.
"Oh, I didn't know about those." I inform her with a shrug. "So...she knows about me?" I ask again and frown when she avoids my gaze. "Lizzie?" I prompt when she doesn't answer.
"Um...she uh. No. She doesn't know what you mean to me." She informs me timidly.
"Oh. Okay." I respond, not sure how to react. I know that she never told her parents about us. I just thought maybe this time she would. But I can't push her if she's not ready.
"I haven't talked to her in a while." She offers and I shrug.
"Yeah yeah it's whatever I mean it's only been a week since we made it official." I reply and try to not let it get to me.
"I'm going to tell her." She assures me and I nod, offering a small smile before sipping on my coffee. "I'm a little scared but, I'm going to." She admits.
"It's okay. Does she...does she know anything about us?" I ask and wish I didn't when I see the look on her face. I nod and look down at my muffin that suddenly doesn't look as appetizing.
"We...she was my manager once we weren't talking anymore so it didn't really come up. I had the twins to talk to about it all." She explains and I nod.
"I mean you said to yourself that you only really told Robbie so." I point out and she sighs.
"Hey." She prompts softly and reaches to grab my hand. "I'm going to tell her. What if we invite her over for dinner?" She suggests and I shrug.
"Whatever you're comfortable with." I reply softly. "Let's head to the studio, I want to go over some stuff with Harry." I prompt and pick up my half eaten muffin.
"Yeah, right. Okay." She agrees and follows me out of the shop, our coffees still in hand. She slides her fingers between mine and we share a small smile as we walk to the car to head to the studio.
The car ride is calm as I get a little lost in my thoughts. She said she was never ashamed of me or us but never really told anyone. I get that it wouldn't have been good for her career, I understand that wholeheartedly but I thought this time was different. I guess we haven't really had a chance to tell her parents though since we've been together for every minute since we became official.
I don't have parents to tell. I have Marie and Derek and they already know. I have the twins and they obviously know. Pam knows. All the people in my life know. Wait did we tell the kids?
She has a lot of people that love her that she has to break the news to so I just have to be patient. I'm like the queen of that shit.
When she pulls into my parking spot we both get out of the car and I reach to hold her hand. She smiles and I wink as I lead her inside.
"We should probably tell Aiden that we are together." I comment and she gasps.
"I can't believe we haven't told him yet. He has to know so he can get used to it." She reminds me and I smile over to her in adoration.
She knows he doesn't like change and remembers that he requested that we tell him so he can get used to the good change. Jesus, I could marry her right now.
"We can call him later." I confirm and she sighs in relief.
Harry is sitting in my office when we arrive, flipping through one of my journals. "I've been thinking about As it Was." He informs me.
"Hi Harold, good morning." I greet and he smirks as I sit down in my desk chair. "What about it?" I ask as Lizzie sits on the couch to his left.
"It's a good song, but I don't think it should be a ballad." He informs me and my face morphs into confusion.
"Harry its so fucking sad, why wouldn't it be?" I ask and he hums in thought.
"I want to try to speed it up, make to a song we can dance to. Matilda and Boyfriends are already slow, I need more upbeat songs." He points out.
"Okay...yeah try it out. Listen I um...that song means a lot to me." I remind him and he smiles softly.
"Yes, I want to honor Bradley. He wouldn't want us to cry, he'd want us to dance." He states softly and I sigh, nodding softly.
"Okay, go do it, I want to hear it by the end of the day." I assign and he grins.
"Great. I'm hearing church bells." He shares as he stands. "Oh, also, little freak is done."
"Great." I nod and log into my computer, smiling over to Lizzie.
"Good morning, Ms. Olsen. Forgive me for the delayed greeting. Once I get excited about something I get tunnel vision." He explains himself.
"It's all good, Y/N does the same thing." She shares with a smile and he grins.
"Feel free to visit throughout the day Y/N, I need some help with a few pieces." He invites as he leaves my office, not leaving me time to reply.
"You sure you're okay with him changing up As it Was?" Lizzie checks and I nod.
"I trust him." I confirm and she nods.
"I um...I was looking through your journal the other day." She informs me as she stands and makes her way to sit in the chair in front of my desk. I motion for her to come to me and pull her down to sit in my lap instead.
It makes her grin and she wraps her arms around my neck easily. "Yeah? What did you find?" I ask knowing she brought it up for some reason.
"I didn't find anything specific but I was reading through lyrics and kind of got inspired by some recent emotions." She explains and I tilt my head in curiosity.
"Are you saying you wrote something?" I ask when she doesn't offer anymore information, her bottom lip between her teeth as she avoids my gaze.
"Kind of? You know that song Harry is working on, the Satellite one?" She checks and I nod. "Well you know he's been struggling with the chorus and I can't get the tune out of my head." She explains, her eyes narrowed in thought as she starts to hum.
"I think you've been spending too much time here...are you about to steal my job?" I tease and she grins, giggling a little.
"No baby, but I think I have something." She reveals and slips out of my lap to dig out the old journal from her purse. She sits right back in my lap and rests the journal on my desk, turning to a page and showing it to me.
"Spinning around, waiting for you to pull me in, I can see you're lonely down there, don't you know that I am right here?" I read softly, the melody that's been annoying Harry starting to play in my mind. I look up into her nervous gaze and smile softly.
"Is it okay?" She asks and my heart swells with love. She always supported me but now she's with me every day to encourage me. She's even writing a little bit. I love that she is showing interest in music not just me or the company and honestly a part of me wants to shove everything off my desk and take her right here right now.
"It's beautiful, love. Do you want to show it to Harry?" I ask and she shrugs.
"I don't know. It's not that good and maybe he already has ideas for it." She mumbles, brushing her fingers over the pages.
"You're adorable and you need to be nice to yourself. It's really good. I love that you are involved with what I do...it's really endearing." I share and her eyes light up as she smiles, leaning down to peck my lips.
"I love being here with you. I kind of surprised myself with this. It's just a little phrase but...I don't know, it was kind of fun." She shares and I nod.
"It is...did you write that about me?" I ask and notice the faint blush on her cheeks.
"Yes...I was thinking about seeing you again, hearing about all you've been through and seeing how different you are but aren't at the same time. You pushed me away but I just wanted you to pull me back in. I wanted to be there for you and I think I would have waited forever to be back in your life. I just had to be patient with you. I just wanted you to see me, to know I was there for you." She explains and I smile softly.
"I knew you were...no matter how hard I tried to ignore it, I could feel you. I was scared." I explain and she nods, brushing her fingers through my hair.
"I know. Me too. But look...we're together so it's all worth it." She reminds me and I nod.
"Come on, I want to show this to Harry." I prompt and tap her thigh. She gets up and I take note of her slightly forward shoulders, slouched to protect her heart. She's nervous to show him because it means so much to her.
I slide my fingers through hers and lead her down the hallway, brushing my thumb across the back of her hand to give her some comfort. "He's going to love it...and if he doesn't, I know I'll love it and use it for something." I assure her and she nods, a small smile on her perfect lips.
We find Harry spinning in a chair, humming the exact melody that we might have lyrics for and that he's been annoying him for a few days now. "Y/N this damn song...I'm about to scrap it." He complains.
"Not so fast...we may have something." I start and motion for Jim the sound engineer to play the track we are working on. I hand over my old journal and point out the lyrics and he peeks up at us.
"We?" He asks, his eyes taking in the differing script on the page. "Elizabeth has tried her hand at songwriting has she? Watch out Y/N she may just steal your business." He teases with an amused smile that fades a little as he reads it. He hums to himself as we wait and I squeeze Lizzie's hand when she starts to shuffle on her feet.
He starts to try out the words and stands slowly, making his way into the booth. I motion for Jim to start recording as Harry starts to actually sing and Lizzie gasps quietly to my side. I smile over to her as the words begin to come more confidently out of his mouth.
Spinning out, waiting for ya to pull me in, I can see you're lonely down there, don't you know that I am right here?
He sings it a few more times and pauses, his eyes full of new inspiration. "Jim, we need a boom boom boom after that last one to lead into the last chorus. Switch it up a bit." He directs and although what he said made no sense, somehow Jim knew what he was saying.
"So?" I ask once he finishes the lyric again, pressing the button so he can hear me.
"It's perfect. Elizabeth, you are a genius." He compliments and I smile at the blush on her cheeks.
We leave him to whatever he is doing once I see he is distracted and I pull her back to my office so I can look over some artists and contracts. I smile as she walks around the office rambling about how she can't believe he liked it, her eyes bright and sparkly.
"I told you babe." I remind her and she giggles. She continues to ramble about how cool it all is and I watch in adoration. She's fucking adorable and she's mine
