"I know that you haven't fully shifted like this in years, but we really need you back. You already missed school today." Lio coaxed.
Sage was stuck in his coyote form.
"You have to try, Sage. I know the full moon isn't helping, but you have to try!"
Elvira sat down next to him and smiled. "You woofed." She laughed. Sage growled playfully.
"Can we keep him like this? He's so cute."
"No." Lio glared.
Meanwhile, Derek and Dahlia were sprinting down the street away from the cop cars that were chasing them. They turn and sprint down an alley.
Chris's SUV stops in front of them. "Aw, c'mon!"
Derek slides to a stop and scrapes his hand, Dahlia pulls him back onto his feet and they run into the ironworks. "They got the dogs?!" Dahlia breathed.
The dogs run after them and they both turn around, bearing their canines and glowing eyes.
The dogs whine and run back to the officers.
"What the hell?"
The two walk away from them just as a flashbolt hits the wall next to Dahlia's head. She and Derek look up when the blurriness faded, Chris was holding a crossbow.
Dahlia glared at him. "Seriously?!"
Chris aims another flashbolt at her and she grabs Derek. They duck behind something while Chris reloads. The camero pulls up next to them.
"Get in!" Stiles exclaimed, opening the door. Dahlia yelped when a bullet hit her arm, Chris had shot her. "What part of laying low don't you understand?!" Scott asks them.
"Damn it, we had him!" Derek yells.
"Who? The alpha?"
"Yes! He was right in front of us and the freaking police showed up." Dahlia answered.
Stiles looks back at her. "Oh, hey, they're just doing their jobs." He defended. Dahlia glares at him.
"Uh, yeah.."
"Yeah, thanks to someone who decided to make me the most wanted fugitive in the entire state!"
"Can we seriously get past that?! I made a dumbass mistake, I get it."
"All right, how did you find him?" Stiles asks.
"Can you try to trust us for at least half a second?"
"Yeah, both of us."
Dahlia leans forward so that she was in between them and growls. "Or just him." Stiles whispered.
Derek moved Dahlia back until she sat down while glaring at Stiles. "I'll just be up here..fearing for my life." He muttered. "Look, the last time we talked to my sister, she was close to figuring something out."
"She found two things, the first was a guy named Harris-"
"Our chemistry teacher?" Stiles asked.
"Why him?" Scott added.
"I don't know yet." Dahlia answered. "What's the second?" Scott asked. "Some kind of symbol."
Derek unfolds a piece of paper and Scott makes a face. "What? You know what this is?" He asks.
"I've seen it on a necklace." Scott answers.
Dahlia leans forward. "What necklace?" She asks.
"Allison's necklace." He answered.
"Dahlia." Derek whispered.
"I'm fine." She breathed.
Scott and Stiles exchanged a look.
"Okay, what's up with you? Why don't you like the Argents? Besides the whole, hunting thing."
Derek messed with his hands nervously when Dahlia sighed. "Chris isn't who you think he is."

The next day, Sage had finally shifted back into his human form. Walking into the kitchen of Lio's apartment, he groaned. "Everything hurts."
Elvira hugged him. "I like you as a coyote but I missed talking to you." She smiled. "Thanks?"
He messed with the straps on his backpack anxiously. "Where's mom and Derek?"
"They went into hiding, I'm gonna take you to school again, unless you want to drive?" Lio smiled.
Elvira scoffed. "Don't tempt him, and you know he can't drive." She smirked. "I'm right here, Vira."
"I said what I said." She shrugged.
"I made you a danish." Lio said, walking over to him. Sage makes a face. "What?" She asked.
"So um, while I was shifted, I sorta ate a squirrel and a few bugs." He grimaced. "A squirrel?" She gaped.
Sage nodded. "It was actually pretty tasty, but I will be taking your iced tea." He grinned, walking out the door. "So we're just gonna ignore the bugs?"
•
At school, Scott and Stiles, quite literally, run into Sage. "You're alive?!" Stiles gawked.
"Unfortunately." The werecoyote answered.
After first period, Sage was standing with Scott at his locker. Jackson slams his locker shut and smirks.
"I know what you are, McCall. You too, Hale."
While Scott stutters, Sage steps in front of Jackson.
"What?" Scott mumbles.
"I know what you two are."
"I'm sorry, we have no idea what you're talking about." Sage responded.
"Yeah, yeah you do, and uh, here's the thing, however it is you came to be what you are, you're gonna get it for me too."
"Get what for you?" Scott asks. "Whatever it is, a bite, a scratch, sniffing magic fairy dust under the moonlight, I don't care. You're gonna get it for me, or uh, they're gonna find out about it too."
Jackson turns Scott and Sage around to show Danny and Allison smiling while talking to Lydia.
When Danny glanced over at Sage, his smile faded.
•
"How the hell did he find out?"
"I have no idea."
"Did he say it out loud? The words?"
"What words?"
"Werewolf and coyote! Did he say I know you're a werewolf and that Sage is a coyote?"
"No, but he implied it pretty freaking clearly!"
"Okay, maybe it's not as bad as it seems. I mean, he doesn't have any proof, right? And if he wanted to tell someone, who's gonna believe him anyway?"
"How about his father?!" Scott exclaims, pointing at Sage. "Who told you that?" The Hale asked.
"Your mom."
"Okay, it's bad." Stiles mumbled.
"I need a cure, right now."
"A cure?"
"Does he know about your father?" Stiles asks. Sage glared at him. "Stop saying that! No-one knows."
"Wait, Allison doesn't know? I mean, you guys are siblings."
"Half-siblings, and just because we share the same father, doesn't mean anything. I don't have to like her."
"Okay, where's Derek? Where's your mom?"
"Hiding like we told them to, why?"
"I have another idea, it's gonna take a little time and finesse though."
"We have a game tonight, it's quarterfinals, and it's your first game." Scott says. "I know, I know."
"Look, do you have a plan for Allison yet?"
"She's in my next class."
"Get the necklace."
"Right, get the necklace."

It was lunchtime now, and Sage was sitting by himself, drawing in the notebook Danny had bought him for his birthday. He was drawing lips, they had metal bars surrounding them, and arms were trying to pry them open, but they couldn't.
"What's that?"
Sage looks up and sees Danny. "I don't know." He answers. Danny smiles at him. "Can I?" He asks, gesturing to the empty spot next to him. "Yeah."
Danny sits down next to him and glances at the drawing again. "It's beautiful, Sage." He says.
Sage sighs and smiles sadly. "Thanks."
"I've been calling and texting you."
"I know."
"I was worried about you yesterday, you weren't here."
"I know."
"Wanna tell me what happened? Everyone keeps saying things about you."
"I don't want to talk about it."
Danny nods. "So.." he trails off.
"So.." Sage repeats.
•
Reluctantly, Sage follows Stiles into his room and sees his cousin, along with his mother, standing in the corner. Derek puts a finger up to his lips as Noah walks upstairs. "Hey, Stiles!" He calls out.
"Yo, Da-Derek?" Stiles stutters, turning around in his chair. "I-um.." Stiles runs out into the hallway to meet his dad and closes his bedroom door. "So.."
"Hi sweetie." Dahlia smiled, quickly walking over to hug her son. Sage made a face but hugged her back.
"How was your shift? Are you feeling okay?"
"I'm fine, mom. Also, hey." Sage grinned. Derek smiles at him but it disappears immediately when Stiles walks back into the room.
Sage watched in amusement as Derek grabbed Stiles by his shirt and pinned him against the door.
"If you say one word-"
"Oh what, you mean like, hey dad, Derek and Dahlia Hale are in my bedroom, bring your gun?"
Derek backs away slightly and lowers his hand. Stiles scoffs and hits his chest. "Yeah, that's right."
"If I'm harboring your fugitive asses, it's my house, my rules, buddy." He adds. Nodding, Derek let's Stiles go and straightens his jacket.
Stiles tugs Derek's jacket playfully and Dahlia steps toward him and growls, he jumps and steps back.
"Oh my god!" He exclaims.
Sage laughs to himself.
"Scott gonna get the necklace?" Derek asks. "No, he's still working on it, but there's something else we can try. The night we were trapped at the school, Scott sent a text to Allison asking her to meet him there." Stiles answered.
Dahlia and Sage growl while Derek shrugged.
"So?"
"So, it wasn't Scott."
"Well, can you find out who sent it?" Dahlia asks. "No, not me, but I think he knows someone who can." Stiles answers, looking at Sage. "No." He says.
"Sage-"
"No. I don't want him involved."
"Just tell him it's for something else!"
Sage felt his eyes flash and saw Stiles flinch.
"Please?" Stiles whispered.
•
"You want me to do what?" Danny asked, stuffing his hand in his pocket. "Trace a text." Stiles repeated.
"I came here to do lab work, that's what parters do." Danny said while looking at Sage. "And we will-"
"Once you trace the text." Stiles sighed, interrupting Sage. "And what makes you think I know how?"
"I looked up your arrest report, so.."
"What?" Sage gaped. "I was thirteen! They dropped the charges." Danny defended. "Whatever." Stiles mumbled. "No, we're doing the lab work."
"Oh my.."
Danny grabs a chair and sits next to Stiles while Sage stood behind them. "Who are they again?"
"My mom and my cousin-"
"Miguel!" Stiles exclaimed. Sage, Danny, Dahlia, and Derek turn to look at him.
"Sage's cousin Miguel, and his mom, Maya."
"Is that blood on their shirts?" Danny asks. Sage turns to look at his family members, his mom was trying to hide her laugh and Derek..was glaring at Stiles.
"Uh, yeah. Yes. Well, they get these horrible nosebleeds. Hey, Miguel, Maya, I thought I told you that you could borrow one of my shirts?" Stiles muttered. Glaring, Derek slams the book he was reading to Dahlia closed and tosses it onto the bed.
They stand and Derek pulls off his shirt while Dahlia looks for him another one.
"So anyway, you have the skills to trace that text, so we should probably-"
"Stiles." Dahlia interrupts. "Yes?" Stiles asked, turning around in his chair. Sage and Danny turn around as well and Sage tries not to laugh.
"This? No fit." Derek glares, tugging on the shirt in his hand. Dahlia smiles to herself. "Then try something else on." Stiles responded. "Sorry."
Sage started on the lab work while Stiles was trying to get Danny to trace the text. He stopped when Stiles hit Danny's arm. "What do you think, Danny?"
"Huh?" Danny mumbled, looking away from Sage. "The shirt." Stiles repeated. Sage looks up at Derek.
"Oh boy.."
"It's not his color."
•
"Did you get the picture?" Scott asks. Stiles, had called him after learning that the text Danny was tracing had been from Melissa. "Yeah, we did."
"It looks just like the drawing." Sage adds. Derek grabs Stiles wrist and brings his phone towards himself. "Hey, is there something on the back of it? There's gotta be something. An inscription, an opening, something?!" He asks. Scott sighs.
"No. No, the thing's flat and no, it doesn't open. There's nothing in it, on it, around it. Nothing, and where are you? You're supposed to be here. You're first line!" Scott says before getting interrupted by Coach. "Man, you're not gonna play if you're not here to start." He states. "I know!" Stiles exclaims.
"Look, if you see my dad, can you tell him I'll be there? I'll just be a little late, okay?"
"Of course."
"All right, thanks." Stiles hangs up the phone with a defeated look. "You're not gonna make it." Derek muttered. "I know." Stiles replies. Sage sighs.
"You didn't tell him about his mom, either."
"Not until we find out the truth." Stiles says, looking at the hospital in front of them. "By the way, one more thing." Derek mutters. "Yeah?"
Derek grabs Stiles on the back of his head and slams it forward, on the dashboard. "Oh, god! What the hell was that-"
"You know what that was for! Go."
Sage covers his mouth with his hand. "Go!" Derek repeats. Stiles and Sage get out of the car quickly.
In the hospital, Sage was on the phone with Derek. "Look, we can't find her." He says. "What?"
"She's been looking after Peter for years."
Stiles walks into Peter's room and sees an empty wheelchair. "Yeah well, he's not here either."
"What?" Derek mumbles. Sage pales. "Oh shit."
"Hey, watch your language." Dahlia tells him. "He's not here, mom. He's gone!" Sage exclaimed.
"Yeah-"
Dahlia pauses as the realization dawns on her "Stiles, Sage, you have to get out of there. Right now! It's him!" She yells. "He's the alpha! Get out!"
Slowly, Stiles takes his phone back from Sage and the two turn around to find Peter. "Fuck."
"Hello, Sage." Peter smiles before turning his head slightly. "You must be Stiles." He adds. Stiles backs up but Jennifer appears behind him. "What are you doing here? Visiting hours are over." She states.
"Lady, with all due respect-" Sage was cut off when Stiles held up his hand. "You..and him. You're-..You're the one who—oh my..and he's..oh my god, I'm gonna die." He mumbles. Sage scoffs.
"You're not gonna die, did you forget I'm here?" He asks. Just then, Dahlia and Derek run into the hospital. Derek elbows the nurse in the face and she falls over, while Dahlia stands protectively in front of Stiles and Sage. "That's not nice, she's my nurse."
Dahlia glares at Peter. "She's a psychotic bitch helping you kill people, asshole." She states. "Get out of the way." She adds, glancing at the two teens behind her. "Oh, damn." Stiles whispers.
"You think I killed Laura on purpose? One of my own family?" Peter asks, walking forward. Dahlia growls and flashes her eyes. She jumps and leaps off a wall toward Peter, he catches her and throws her into a wall. Stiles and Sage crawl away from them.
Peter grabs Dahlia by the throat and lifts her into the air. "My mind, my personality..were literally burned out of me, thanks to you. I was being driven by pure instinct.." he says, dragging her across the floor.
He drops her and she lands with a thud, he then looks through Jennifer's pockets. "What?" She breathed. "Technically, it's your fault she's dead."
"You brought a hunter into our home, you told him about us even after you found out he killed your father, you killed this family. You killed Laura."
Dahlia's eyes flash. "What? You want an apology? I didn't ask for this, Peter! And I've told you, it wasn't him." She says. "But it was an Argent, no?"
Dahlia looks down at her claws when she felt Sage's eyes shift toward her. "You want forgiveness?"
Derek punches Peter and Peter dodges. "I want understanding, Dahlia." He says.
"Do you have any idea what it was like for me during those years? Slowly healing cell by cell. Even more slowly coming back to consciousness. Yes, becoming an alpha, taking that from Laura pushed me over plateau in the healing process, I can't help that."
Derek continues throwing punches at Peter but they keep getting blocked and dodged. He was standing in front of Dahlia. Peter catches Derek's fist and twists it. "I tried to tell you guys what was happening, I tried to warn you." He says.
Peter throws Derek into the glass at the front desk and walks up to Dahlia. "I was going to wait. Y'know, for dramatic flair, but.." slowly, Peter's burn marks heal and his face becomes smooth. "When you look this good, why wait?" He mumbles. "Listen.."
"You two have to give me a chance to explain, after all, we're family."
