Megha woke up feeling a weight over her. She opened her eyes and saw her husband sleeping peacefully with his head on her chest and his arm around her keeping her close.
She smiled and threaded her fingers through his hair. A pink hue covered her cheeks as she remembered what happened last night.
Nikhil moved a bit and snuggled his face more in into her making her heart flutter.
"What time is it?"
He asked in a groggy voice and she felt tingles at his deep voice.
"9."
She mumbled and he opened his eyes and looked at her.
"Are you ok? Feeling any pain?"
He asked with concern and she shook her head trying to hide the blush.
"Nhi. I am fine. A little sore but its fine."
(No.)
He hummed and kissed her head.
"You must be hungry. Mai jaldi se kuch le kar aata hu. Phir grogery shopping bhi jaana hai."
(I will get something quickly. Then we have to go grocery shopping.)
He said and quickly jogged out without a shirt.
She bit her lip and wore his shirt. His musky scent immediately engulfed her and she hugged herself.
She went out behind him and saw him making coffee and toasts for both of them.
She hugged him from behind keeping her cheek on his back.
He smiled and kissed her hands.
"Tum hamesha mere saath rahoge na?"
(You will always stay with me right?)
She asked in a broken voice and he smiled slightly. Pulling her in front and making her sit on the slab, he got between her legs.
He cupped her face and said.
"Hamesha! I promise."
(Always!)
She smiled and rested her cheek against his palms. He suddenly turned serious and said.
"Mai batana bhul gaya. Kal mumma ka phone aaya tha. She and papa are coming here. Aaj shaam ko."
(I forgot to tell. Yesterday mumma called. Today evening.)
Megha's eyes widened and she jumped off the counter.
"What!? Aur tum ye mujhe ab bata rhe ho? Oh God! Ghar mai kuch bhi nhi hai Nikhil. Come fast we need to go grocery shopping-"
(And you are telling this to me now? There is nothing at home Nikhil.)
"Aur haan I told them about you. Toh wo tumse milne aa rhe hai."
(They are coming to meet you.)
He said making her freeze on her spot.
"Are you trying to kill me?"
She asked and he chuckled. He kissed her head and said.
"Come on have this aur phir chalte hai."
She pouted and started having her coffee and toasts.
They had their bath. Separately. And then went grocery shopping.
Megha was really nervous to meet his parents. It was almost time for them to reach and her palms were getting sweaty by each passing second.
The doorbell rang and she jumped on her place. Nikhil opened the door and welcomed them in with huge smiles.
"Peeche hatt! Pehle mujhe meri bahu ko dekhna hai."
(Get aside! I want to see my daughter in law first.)
His mother pushed him aside and moved inside and he looked at her as if she had betrayed him.
Megha smiled and touched her feet and she blessed and hugged her.
"Kaha se mil gyi tujhe itni sundar aur pyaari ladki? Kaise pasand aa gaya beta ye tumhe?"
(Where did you find this sweet and beautiful girl? How come you liked this idiot?)
She asked Nikhil and Megha making Nikhil whine and Megha chuckle.
Megha took his father's blessings who smiled and blessed her.
The ice between them was broken and they were chitchatting like they had known each other since always.
They had their dinner and his parents left shortly after.
"Tumhare parents kitne sweet hai."
(Your parents are so sweet.)
Nikhil smirked and pulled her into him.
"Aur mai? Mai sweet nhi hu? Ab toh you have tasted me."
(And me? Am I not sweet?)
He winked at her and she looked at him wide eyed and hit his chest.
"Tum kitne besharam ho Nikhil. Ewww!"
(You are so shameless.)
"What ewww! Jo sach hai wahi toh bola. Achha batao na. Am I not sweet?"
(What is true is true. Now tell me.)
"Mujhe nhi pata. Chhodo mujhe."
(I don't know. Leave me.)
She said trying to hide her blush and he kissed her cheek making her go more red.
Their break was going on and the group finally met on the first day of their last semester.
Nikhil and Megha reached and saw Pooja and Rahul already there. They greeted them and just then they heard Shivam.
He came and gave a punch straight on Rahul's face. He stumbled back not expecting his move. Just as he looked up to ask him he gave him another punch and said.
"Haa! Ab dil ko thandak mili. Ab gale mil."
(Now I feel relieved. Now give me a hug.)
He said and hugged Rahul who groaned and said.
"Ek warning de skta tha atleast."
(You could have given a warning.)
"Tune di thi?"
(Did you?)
Rahul groaned again and everyone laughed.
Megha's smile faded when she saw Armaan entering. Everyone greeted him except Megha which luckily no one noticed.
Mansi too came and for a change she looked extremely guilty. And why would she not be? Megha had not attended even one of her calls during the whole time.
They all went to their respective classes and the day went by normal.
That day Megha received Mansi's message that their mother's health was not good.
"Nikhil I'll have to go. Mumma ko tabiyat kharab hai."
(Mumma is not well.)
He pouted trying to coax her not to go. She kissed his pout and said.
"I'll be back jaldi. I promise."
He nodded half heartedly and they went to her home.
Nikhil greeted her father who attended him well. Megha went to her mother ignoring Mansi completely.
"Mai ghar se kya gayi aapne apni tabiyat kharab kr li."
(I went from here and you fell sick.)
She joked and her mother smiled slightly. She kissed Megha's head and asked.
"Tu thik hai na?"
(Are you ok?)
Megha nodded with a genuine smile.
At night she was in her room after giving her mother milk and medicine.
She heard the door open and saw Mansi standing there. She looked away and asked in a hard tone.
"Kuch kaam tha?"
(Want something?)
The next moment Megha felt Mansi hug her from behind and sob.
"I am sorry di. I am really sorry. Please talk to me na. I miss you so much. I love you di. Please mujhe maaf krdo."
(Please forgive me.?
As much as Megha was hurt at what Mansi did, she was her baby sister and Megha too missed her. And now that Mansi had learnt her lesson she decided to forgive her.
"Idhar dekh meri taraf."
(Look at me.)
Megha said and Mansi looked at her sniffing like a baby. Megha smiled and Mansi hugged her tightly.
"I am sorry di. Aap please mujhse baat krna mat chhodo. Aap jo bologi mai wo krungi."
(Please takk to me. I will do whatever you say.)
"Achha bas. Kr dia maaf. Ab rona band kr. Pagalo."
(Ok fine. I did forgive you. Now stop crying. Stupid.)
She said with a smile caressing her head and soon the two sisters were giggling and gossiping like they used to.
Megha and Mansi went together to college for the next few days.
