The room went dead silent at Hisashi's words, it almost amused him. However due to the topic he couldn't feel it in himself to feel anything but fear, especially since it had to do with his sons future. He could live with never seeing his son if it was to make them happy, he had handled being alone before.
He could do it again.
Hisashi frowned, realizing none of the people in the room were going to talk. It frustrated him to no end, did they expect him to say he would take his son regardless of how anyone felt about it? Perhaps he would have, but now that Yoichi was here it changed his tune a bit.
"What, I just found out I had a son." Hisashi stated." Did you honestly think I could take care of them, when I couldn't even take care of my own brother properly?"
Hisashi's words seemed to make an impact on the room, All Might shifted looking uneasy at the reminder of who he was. Tsukauchi and Sir Nighteye winced, clearly not having expected that kind of response. Yoichi on the other hand was just staring at him with wide eyes, clearly not having expect him to admit that he took care of them the wrong way.
He just rolled his eyes, he hated the situation he was in.
"We don't want to give you custody over Midoriya, but considering you are his father we had to let you in as a potential candidate." Tsukauchi admitted, sounding pained by doing so.
Those words were enough to make Hisashi snap, he didn't want to be a candidate. He destroyed every relationship he had, even his adopted son decided to throw away their life in for revenge. Sure he was obviously to late to save, but that didn't mean he wanted his family to fall down the same rabbit hole he had.
"You all assume that I will be a horrible father and your right, but not for the reasons you think." Hisashi snapped, barely controlling his anger." I am cursed, I break everyone that I start a relationship with. My parents hated me, they did horrible things whenever Yoichi wasn't around. I took it so Yoichi would still have loving and caring parents, but I wasn't ever considered more then trash to them. I grew paranoid that Yoichi would get hurt and instead of handling it the proper way, I forced a Quirk on him and shoved my little brother into a vault. Isolating him from the world for ten years. I fell in love once, but then the man I loved found out about my Quirk or meta ability as it was called, they left after beating senseless. Let's not forget that my Quirk causes insatiable hunger and forces me to steal Quirks in order to even be able to function as a normal human being, explain to me how that is supposed to make me a good father?!"
The silence that fell after his rant was deafening, his heart was hammering in his chest as he let out all the words he had kept secret for two hundred years. His fists were clenched to his side and he was gritting his teeth, anger and several other emotions running rampant in his head.
He took a deep breath, just relieved he had started to cry. He didn't want to show any more weakness then he already had, especially in front of these people. Hisashi kept his eyes down towards the floor, reining in his temper before he did something else he would regret.
"You all talk about me like you know me, but truthfully none of you know me." Hisashi growled lowly." Not even Yoichi, because since I was five...I wore a mask to hide my emotions, after all I couldn't afford to me weak...or I would face consequences. Villain's are not born, their made. You all seem to forget this, so I'll let you in on a little secret....Izuku isn't my only son, I adopted on nearly twenty years ago. I raised him and five years ago he decided to become a Villain, just because it was to late for me...didn't mean I wanted my son to follow my path. I tried so hard to convince him that he should pursue a different way, but he was determined. I can't let that happen to Izuku, I won't let that happen."
Hisashi looked back up and at the indescribable expressions of the people in the room, his mouth drawn into a thin line. He wasn't sure of what they were thinking and he honestly was scared to search their minds for the answer.
"You all forget that no matter how much power I have, I am still Human." Hisashi finished, before taking a deep breath.
All Might looked guilty, like they were remembering something they had forgotten. Tsukauchi looked physically sick, though that might have just been the mentions of abuse he had to deal with. Sir Nighteye was giving him a calculating look, almost as if sizing up how much of that was true.
It was Yoichi that broke him the most though, his little brother look angry, hurt, and horrified by what they had heard. It was something Hisashi was hoping to never reveal to his brother, but things don't always turn out the way you want them too.
"All of that is true." Tsukauchi stated, sounding tired.
That seemed to make the entire room grow paler, as if finally realizing the man they had thought was a monster was just as much of a victim as other Villians. Sure Hisashi had done many things that were unforgivable, but he was still Human and despite what people wanted to believe he had emotions like everyone else.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Yoichi asked, making everyone in the room turn to them." If you had just told me, then we might have been able to work things out. Instead you did horrible things to me and so many other people, did you honestly not trust me enough with that knowledge?"
"You assume I didn't tell you because of a lack of trust." Hisashi responded with a frown." I didn't tell you, because it would have broken your heart. You loved our parents more then anything in the world, even I came second to them until they died. I refused to break that part of you, even if it meant that in the end you would hate me."
Yoichi shook their head rapidly, tears welling up in their green eyes.
"I could never hate you Hisashi." Yoichi said, much to his shock." I don't trust you and I don't regret rebelling against you, but I still love you. Your my brother and until recently I had thought you were my only living relative left, you were all I had left of a family. I hated the things you did to me and others, but I would never hate you."
Hisashi stumbled backwards at the words, like he had been shot in the chest. His read eyes were wide in disbelief and pain, trying to understand how his little brother didn't hate him when he had caused their death. He had lied, isolated, and manipulated Yoichi so much, so why didn't they hate him?
He shook his head, anger resurfacing.
"Your not supposed to." Hisashi stated, earning a confused look from Yoichi." Your supposed to hate me, want nothing more then my death, and curse me out for everything I've done to you. You weren't supposed to love me still, I didn't want you to love me...."
For the first time in nearly two hundred years, Hisashi cried.
Tears falling down to the ground after running down his cheeks, his red eyes screwed shut as he let everything he felt out. He didn't deserve his brothers love, that was the one thing he knew more then anything else in the world.
His entire body shook as he tried to keep his sobs silent, but they had a mind of their own and still made noise. Body trembling Hisashi forced himself to sit back down, dropping his head into his hands. None of this was meant to happen, why'd this have to happen. Why couldn't his brother have stayed happy in heaven or something, while he continued to suffer in silence.
"It doesn't matter that he wasn't meant to love you, what matters is that he does." Sir Nighteye's voice rang through Hisashi's head." Would you be willing to let me use my Quirk on you...Mr. Shigaraki?"
Hisashi's entire form stiffened at the suggestion and it was clear that he wasn't the only one shocked by the words of the greenette.
"Mirai, you can't possibly be thinking of letting that man have contact with you." All Might protested, making Hisashi look upwards to see the blonde Hero was giving Sir Nighteye a desperate look." His Quirk works through contact."
"I am fully aware of the risks, Toshinori." Sir Nighteye snapped, glaring at All Might." We need to know what's going to happen, you know my futures can't be changed...so we know he won't deviate from whatever I see."
Sir Nighteye waited for more protests, but none came and so they stood up. they walked over till they was a couple of feet away and held their hand out, their golden eyes seeming to pierce Hisashi's own red ones. He hesitated for a moment, before reaching out and grabbing the future seeing Heroes hand.
The Hero's eyes glowed purple and a sharp feeling of being dragged accompanied the contact, which Hisashi assumed meant that Sir Nighteye's Quirk was working. He held back the urge to take the man's Quirk, it was harder to resist then normal considering he hadn't stolen a Quirk in quite some time. He would have to find one later, that was assuming he was able to.
For a few minutes everybody in the room waited with baited breath, Yoichi watching the most intently. Eventually Sir Nighteye returned to their senses, the purple glow leaving their eyes. Without a word Sir Nighteye returned to their seat, before taking a deep breath. Hisashi suspected that the Hero was processing whatever it was that they saw, which made him all the more curious.
"I think it would be prudent to let Mr. Shigaraki take Izuku in." Sir Nighteye stated, after a few moments of silence.
The entire room erupted into chaos and Hisashi himself nearly gaped at the greenette, not believing that a Hero of all people would agree to something like that. What exactly had the man seen in their vision?
"Are you insane?" All Might protested, looking extremely concerned." What could possess you to think that would be a good idea, it's Young Midoriya we are talking about. The boy's my successor, he can't be allowed to live with the man who want's One For All so badly."
Hisashi felt the air leave his lungs at the information that was inadvertently shared, his now dry eyes widening in complete shock. His son had been given One For All, that wasn't good at all. He remembered Shinomori Hikage, they were the only user of One For All that hadn't been killed by him.
The Fourth user had instead died from old age at forty, due to One For All breaking down their body. None of the other users faced the same fate, because they had been killed before the Quirk could. All Might only survived because he was Quirkless, which made Hisashi hope beyond anything that his son didn't have their own Quirk.
"Does Izuku have his own Quirk?" Hisashi demanded, causing everyone to turn back to him.
"What does that have to do with anything?" All Might asked sounding suspicious, but Yoichi's eyes lit up with realization of what he was talking about.
"No, brother." Yoichi stated, with a small smile." Izuku was Quirkless when All Might offered One For All."
The words sent a wave of relief through Hisashi, realizing that One For All wasn't going to end up killing his son. He gave Yoichi a small nod, but the others in the room look confused and conflicted.
"Why does it matter that Izuku was Quirkless?" Sir Nighteye asked, not surprising considering that man likely didn't see everything in a vision.
"Because, One For All was killing ever user that already had a Quirk." Yoichi explained, making the entire room freeze." The only user that had this issue was the Fourth, because he was the only one that didn't fight my brother."
