Damon's POV
Once Jeremy has fallen asleep, I decide to spill out my heart to Melanie to get it over with.
"Look. I know you can't hear me or reply but I got to say this. I need to get it off my chest. Here it goes... I love you Melanie and I always have. I'm sorry for all the bad things that I have done to you. I didn't mean to hurt you intentionally. I miss you already Melanie and it has only been like what? 2, 3 hours? It's my fault you are like this. I didn't mean for this to happen. I really need you to wake up so you can surprise everyone. If you don't make it out of this coma then I don't know what I will do with myself. I can't live without you. You don't deserve to die. Please Melanie. Give me a sign that you're ok." I plead but her body stays still. I sigh and look down. I feel Melanie's hand twitch but when I look up, she is as still as she was before. Maybe I'm imagining things. Her back suddenly arches and she starts shaking again. I get up quickly waking up Jeremy then calling for Dr. Fell. She rushes in and tries to hold Melanie down but fails so I do it for her.
"What's happening?!" Jeremy shouts.
"I'm not sure this time Jeremy. She shouldn't be doing this. I'm sorry." She says. She injects Melanie with something but nothing happens. Mel shoots up eyes closed and pukes over the side. I hold her hair back while she does but then her body goes limp which don't help because she is hanging off the edge. I catch her then lie her back in bed where she lies peacefully.
"That's not good." Dr. Fell whose name I learn is Meredith says.
"Whats wrong?" I ask worriedly.
"She shouldn't be doing that." she replies.
"What happens if she does?" Jeremy asks this time.
"She can move her bones out of place so we need to do another scan to make sure." She replies. I nod as well as Jeremy and we help Meredith take Mel for a scan. I can smell Mel's blood coming from somewhere but I can't quite tell. I look her over and can't see any blood so I just turn back. Meredith puts her on the moveable table thingy... I don't know what it's called... And it moved into the scanner. We look at the screen and see a bone sticking out in her top right arm. Ouch. That got to hurt. Meredith takes Mel down to the operating theatre and asks for help immediately. Me and Jeremy had to stay out so we went back up to her room and wait. About an hour later, the nurses push Mel's nearly lifeless body into the room and hook her up to machines again. I sigh in relief and sit back at Melanie's side.
"You scared us Melanie. Don't do that again. Please." I beg. She scared me and I honestly don't know what I would do with myself if she didn't survive. Me and Jeremy sit on separate couches and fall asleep worrying about Melanie.
