Pier rose in his chambers with red and puffy eyes.

He cried so much as he granted his final blessings to the servants who died in the bombing incident. His shoulders were still shaking as he walked and many nobles who saw him tried to console Pier but Asher along with Trevor and the others are making sure no one bothered the young master for the moment.

"Will he be alright, father?" Redon asked, like majority of those that attended the mass ceremony, he was wearing an all-black attire to commemorate the loss.

"Pier looked so broken." Richard also commented but Ronnovian was thinking otherwise.

"He'll be better soon. We must head to the cemetery and attend the burial. Let Pier rest since he casted multiple immense spells at once." He sighed and turned his back, heading to attend the procession of people heading to the nearby cemetery.

The headmaster and his twin sons all started to go in their way as well.

"Your highness-" Elena tried to call the prince but Asher was busy telling the nobles who wanted to go after Pier to stop.

She was once more left in the backstage as people fawned over the young master including her lover, Asher.

However, she was also feeling pity and guilt towards the latter.

Seeing Pier like that broke her heart so much that even if she pretended to not be affected by it, she couldn't. The emotions that welled during the giving of blessings and sentiments were overflowing that it reached her.

Sighing, she hugged herself as the winter winds started to penetrate her skin and give her shivers.

She hated the cold.

Her worries also skyrocketed when she thought about the condition their territory was experiencing right now.

'The strongest blizzard to ever land on the kingdom is currently destroying my home...'

---

Pier rubbed his eyes with the back of his hands when he finally reached the fifth floor of the palace's tower.

It was desolate and empty. The servants he brought here are currently attending the burial ceremony and that includes Martha too.

The head maid had a few friends among those that died and she went along to pay her respects.

Feeling tired and sleepy, Pier continued to walk on the empty halls of the floor. The bright chandeliers that hanged on the roof were giving him light.

His eyes darted outside the window too.

It was still midday but the entire kingdom was engulfed in darkness.

'What could it be?' He asked himself while trying to think about the reason why the world suddenly turned dark when he was about to cast his third blessing.

Small light orbs were glowing outside to give light with the procession and even though people were bothered by the unexplainable phenomena, they wanted to bring rest to the dead.

It did feel familiar. The darkness consuming the world right now feels so familiar that he could not help himself but drown in misery again.

He wished Ciaran was here and he could confide with the prince about all of his problems. But he knew the vampire prince was busy and he could not bother him right now.

Continuing to walk again, Pier sniffed one last time and opened the door of his room.

Caleb had attended the burial with Martha and all that's left on the floor right now were him and Gideon.

Opening the door, Pier was immediately greeted by a glowing bubble surrounding the still unconscious knight.

Gideon looked comfortable as he slept on the extra bed provided.

"When will you wake up?" Pier asked and he sat on the bed's edge where Gideon's head was laid.

His fingers combed the knight's hair and he closed his eyes.

He missed Gideon too.

The childlike and annoying knight that spoke to him all day had been asleep far longer than he had been.

"Melfar, do you know why Gideon is still unconscious?" Pier continued to sift Gideon's hair in his fingers and occasionally rub his forehead gently.

However, he got no response from the phoenix. Melfar was once quiet too.

It felt empty. Everything was gloomy and barren.

No one was here to speak with him but he wasn't that mindful about it.

Pier just wanted someone to maybe talk with him.

Clack!

He instantly turned his head to the window of his room where the veranda was located.

The lights were dim and the room was engulfed in darkness too, thus not allowing him to see clearly what was outside despite his enhanced vision.

"Who's there?" His voice was authoritative and strong.

Yet he got no response.

Clack!

The window sounded again and this time, Pier saw it vibrate slightly.

Getting up from the bed, he went to inspect what was outside.

"Hmmm?" Standing right outside the window and standing on the veranda's floor was a small bird.

A small crow to be exact.

"Kraa!" It flapped its wings multiple times when it met with Pier's gaze.

"Hello, are you lost?" Pier opened the window and crouched down to scoop the bird in his arms.

Truthfully, having random creatures appear outside his window would normally be dangerous. Assassination attempts are usually made towards high ranking nobles during winter since finding the culprit would be hard.

But he could not feel any foreboding feeling that something bad would happen to him. Fluffy and Melfar did not wake up either.

The crow continued to sound while flapping its wings as if it was trying to tell Pier something.

"What is it?" He closed the window and walked towards his own bed.

"Master..." This time, he heard Fluffy's voice in his head.

"Do you speak the language of crows, Fluffy?" He tried to joke but was instead met with a rather serious response from the dead fairy.

"I... kurh... do not... master..."

He chuckled when he heard Fluffy speak.

Maybe he can spend some time with the lost crow and Fluffy.

"Master... the crow... master..." Tilting his head to the side, Pier was doused in confusion.

"What's wrong? Do you mean me or your other master?"

"Master... other... master... crow..."

Slowly, realizations came rushing in Pier's mind when he processed the statement Fluffy had said.

"Come to think of it... you look like one of Ciaran's crows..." He observed the black bird in his palms and it made another sound.

"Kraa!"

"What is it? Is there something wrong?" His eyes widened and even though he just sat on his bed, he stood up again.

Was there something wrong with Ciaran?

He did not know and seeing the prince's crow in his room instead of the man himself, Pier started to worry.

'Is this some sort of signal asking for help?' He may be overreacting right now but this is how Pier usually sees the scenarios on books and novels he had read.

"That idiot, I should've stopped him from going to the forbidden region. It's forbidden for a reason!" He clicked his tongue and immediately went to change his dirty clothes.

He wore a shirt and also grabbed the coat Gideon made for him before. The winter was quite harsh this time and he wanted to keep himself warm.

"Fluffy, teleport me to Ciaran this instant."

He turned to look at the unconscious knight on his bed one last time. Gideon was still comfortably sleeping with multiple flame bubbles surrounding him.

"I'll be back, Gideon."

---

A blizzard was currently pouring over the borders of the Yuko Boundary.

The piles of snow were not something to be joked with considering it was deep enough that Pier had a difficult time walking across.

The crow and the dead fairy were floating besides him and Pier groaned in annoyance.

"Where is that idiot of a master you both have? I can't see well with this blizzard!" He opened his palms and wind magic manifested on it.

Even though he was extremely exhausted due to the granting of blessings earlier, he was still adamant in finding the prince who probably sent him a distress signal.

"Should've just came with him. Tsk." He floated in the air and wind barrier surrounded his body.

Both the crow and Fluffy was staring at him as he flew.

"What? Your master isn't the only one powerful here. I can defeat him." He scoffed but the two creatures did not respond.

'They have no sense of humor. Poor things.' Pier started to walk through the borders again.

Of course, he knew where the forbidden region was.

The land itself wasn't covered in snow. It was still sand. Black sand.

After a few minutes of searching for Ciaran, Fluffy and the crow both started to fly in a direction and Pier followed them.

"Kraa!"

"Master... kurkh... Master..."

The two creatures continued to speak their thoughts and Pier was starting to get worried even more.

He knew something bad must have happened to the prince.

He knew it all too well.

They continued to get closer within the forbidden region and Pier was fearing that he would need to get inside the frightening place where magic does not exist.

'I hope he's not inside the forbidden region right-'

He abruptly stopped when he saw a man wearing a dark cloak leaning against a tree with snow falling on him.

"Ciaran!" Pier rushed towards the spot where Ciaran was. His eyes were wide when he saw the weak state the prince was in.

"Ciaran, hey!" He dusted the snow off of Fenrir's head and shook his shoulders.

"Wake up! What's wro-"

But he stopped again when Ciaran lifted his head to look at him.

The prince's eyes were completely black with red irises on them. Dark veins were also visible on Ciaran's face as he breathed weakly.

He looked disheveled.

"P-Pier... haah..." A smile was etched on his face when he saw the white-haired noble staring at him.

"You're here... T-Thank you..." His voice was hoarse and it sounded dry.

Pier was stunned in his spot as he was completely baffled with Ciaran's appearance.

The green eyes he would usually see were no longer there and the scar was replaced with disturbing dark veins.

He looked like a vampire who was on its final moments.

The young master was only brought back in reality when he felt Ciaran lean his head on Pier's waist.

"You're a mess!" He shrieked and assisted him.

"Fluffy, can you teleport us to the Mir Mountains-"

"Pier." Ciaran interjected quickly making him stop.

"Yes? What is it? You should've told me to bring water or something!" He sounded frustrated and annoyed which made Ciaran's smile wider.

"Not in the mountains for now. C-Can you bring me somewhere else? Maybe your mansion or anywhere." He sighed as pain continued to circulate in his body.

"Fuck, we don't have a mansion right now and I don't have any rooms in the other places." Pier scratched the back of his head and thought of another place where they could reside.

"Fluffy, bring us to the cave."

---

Casting his flame magic, a golden-like liquid manifested on Pier's palms and his fingers touched Ciaran's forehead. The healing magic immediately entering the vampire prince's body.

Ciaran sighed when he felt the refreshing spell and Pier too sighed in relief when he saw the smallest of veins in Ciaran's face disappear.

It wasn't even just the face, he saw the black veins stretch downwards and he was curious if it was appearing on Ciaran's entire body.

He started to remove Ciaran's cloak as the man was sweating too much as well.

They were currently inside the cave Pier had found the wyvern he gifted towards Ciaran. It was empty but it was the perfect place they could reside right now since the mansion was destroyed and he could not risk other people seeing a defenseless Ciaran in the palace.

The vampire prince chuckled when he felt Pier's soft fingers glide through his neck.

"Haah... I'll make love with you... when I regain my strength...let me rest for now." He spoke and Pier stopped rustling with the vampire's clothes.

"W-What? I swear! I will not let you rest even if you desire it- Ahck!" He groaned when Pier flicked his forehead.

Pier's flicks were always hurtful.

"Stupid. Make love, you say? I'd make love with the prince if you don't shut your mouth up." He glared and threatened making Ciaran completely silent.

"What an abusive wife- Alright! Alright!" Ciaran defended himself when Pier's fingers started to inch his fingers towards his forehead again.

"What were you doing in the forbidden region and got you like this?! You better tell me or I'm leaving you to die here." He wanted to smack Ciaran's head but that would probably add a concussion to the healing creature.

"I was... looking for a dead creature and add it to my shadows." He admitted.

Pier paused for a second as he observed Ciaran. The black veins on his face were now starting to lessen but only at the smallest amount.

"Why? Do you need to do it immediately? You could have brought me along." He instead caressed Ciaran's hair gently and the latter groaned in satisfaction.

"You would end up in the same situation as me if you came along, Pier." Ciaran spoke in his low and weak voice.

"Tsk." Pier did not respond anymore.

He knew Ciaran's magic was to raise the dead and turn them into his army. He needed to look for the corpse first and do whatever kind of voodoo he needed to.

It was dangerous.

Imagining Ciaran losing his life because of his pursuit for strength and magic terrified Pier. He already had enough of losing his servants.

"Just... be careful next time." He lowered his head.

He was leaning on the cave's walls with Ciaran head on his lap.

"Don't die on me, Fenrir." He whispered and leaned his forehead on Ciaran's.

"I won't... I won't die anytime soon now, you know." The prince reached out his trembling hand to touch Pier's face. The young master leaned into the cold hands and he made sure to grant Ciaran warmth.

"Make sure you're well. I don't want to see you in this condition." A teardrop fell on Ciaran's own cheeks and he was surprised with how Pier easily cried.

"Did... haah... did something happen?" He inquired and Pier nodded his head.

"Some people killed all of my servants at the mansion. They also destroyed the place. I'm currently looking for them." He gritted his teeth and more tears poured out.

"I see. We'll look for them once I am done healing. I promise you that."

Ciaran wasn't good when it comes to comforting people. Especially now that his lover was hurting. It was hard for him to think of any pleasant words that could comfort Pier.

However, he can only make promises he intend to follow right now.

Even if it wasn't comforting in the ears of others, he knew helping Pier was the best thing he could do.

If he could, he would rather carry Pier's burden all for himself and not let the young master experience such tragedy. He knew how hard it must be to lose people you cherish.

"Thank you." Pier smiled at him and Ciaran returned the gesture.

"I'll... cough... I'll help you always. Even if you don't ask for it." He swore making Pier laugh lightly.

Ciaran instead wanted to see this. The soft and gentle smile that made his entire body warm and cozy. The expression that captured him entirely.

Silence engulfed the two and minutes passed with only Pier humming a song. He leaned his head on the wall while continuously caressing Ciaran's hair with his fingers.

"What song is that?" Ciaran asked and Pier opened his eyes.

"It's a song I learned back when I was young. I learned it from a book." He admitted.

'Not really a book... but a movie.' He wanted to speak out loud but decided to keep it.

"Can you sing that for me? It sounds calming." The vampire prince requested which surprised Pier.

"You're not a kid to be sang as he slept."

"Please?"

"Fine. Close your eyes and sleep." Pier sighed as his flame magic manifested again.

He wanted to keep healing Ciaran over and over again until his condition was back to normal.

"But before you sing... I have another question."

"What is it?"

"Aren't you... aren't you bothered of how I look right now?"

Truthfully for Pier, it terrified him at first when he saw the image of Ciaran's entire face changing. But he discarded the thought immediately.

It was still Ciaran. There's no need for him to be afraid.

"Why should I be? You could sprout horns and wings like the reincarnation of the devil and I'll still like your appearance." Pier informed him which had the man coughing for a few times.

It was an unexpected response.

"Really?"

"Yes. But I'd prefer you go back to your original appearance. I like to see people get envious of having a handsome lover in his human appearance." The two laughed at the statement and Ciaran sighed contently.

'What did I do to deserve you?' The prince thought while closing his eyes and he felt Pier's fingers glide in his hair again.

All the while, healing magic was coming out of Pier's palms and directly into Ciaran's hair.

He then started to sing when he saw Ciaran doze off.

"Flower, gleam and glow
Let your powers shine
Make the clock reverse
Bring back what once was mine"

It was only the two of them inside the humungous cave located at the foremost corner of the eastern district.

No one was there to disturb them and no one was there to witness a human healing a hybrid creature that resembles the darkest entity.

Pier and Ciaran did not need the eyes of others. All they needed was the other person.

The former's wish to have someone he can confide him came true and the latter's desire to see the white-haired noble became reality either.

"Heal what has been hurt
Change the fates' design
Save what has been lost
Bring back what once was mine"

"I could not turn back the time like the character who sang the song but I desire to heal and cover you with the light of my flames." Pier softly spoke at the sleeping prince in his lap.

He sang the song once more.

It was a lullaby he found truly comforting when he watched the show as Eliam.

Pier wanted to turn back the time and save his servants. He wanted to go back and protect his people.

But he cannot.

Such magic like that could not exist.

'If it did then it would be the rarest form of magic.' He smiled.

"Flower, gleam and glow
Let your powers shine
Make the clock reverse
Bring back what once was mine"

His charming and melodious voice reverberated inside the large and empty cave. Only the walls and stones could hear his desires through the song but it was enough to trigger something else.

The golden healing spell he was casting on Ciaran started to turn into a shining white one.

Like the moon that shone on the skies, his comfort could be felt by the prince and another person.

"Heal what has been hurt
Change the fates' design
Save what has been lost
Bring back what once was mine"

Slowly, the flame bubbles that surrounded him burned brighter and warmer.

His eyes started to open and his stable breathing was the only sound he could hear.

'Your master is calling for you.' The blue dragon spoke in his head but he did not bother responding.

There were no longer trees around him and his master's dead body could no longer be seen. Instead, his gaze was now met with the luxurious bed and interior of the room he was in.

'Let me meet him when the time comes' He sighed as the annoying thing kept on speaking.

"My master..." Gideon spoke as he laid completely still on the bed.
