「PART ONE」
⤷ ONE; a typical breakfast ⤶
MANY HAVE WONDERED WHAT BECAME OF VOLDEMORT BUT YOU MUST START AT THE VERY BEGINNING
AUGUST 31st 1938 | DAWSON MANOR
THE DAWSON MANOR WASN'T NORMALLY QUIET MOST MORNING, with everyone rushing to wake and enjoy breakfast before leaving the house. It was rather normal for a girl no older than twelve to be standing out on her large balcony staring at the beautiful lake in front of her, with the sun slowly rising behind the mountain.
Elaena Dawson was lost in thought as her blue eyes gazed upon the site in front of her, relishing in the chilly breeze when her companion meowed for her attention. A small grey tabby kitten, stormy, looking up at her with similar coloured eyes.
A soft smile inched its way onto her lips as she picked up her small friend gently "Shall we head down now?" His response was a soft head butt, purring loudly.
As Elaena made her way from her room and down the staircase, she could hear her families quiet conversation in the dining hall. Her family rather large consisting of eleven people as well as having many extended family members.
Being classed as one of the highest standing families in the sacred twenty-nine, every single one of her family members being placed in House Slytherin. Her parents, Joseph and Mary, held no love for each other. Though they managed to have a common ground when it came to the protection of their children, it was the only reason they were in the same room as one another.
━━━ THOUGH hatred was disgusting thing when It came to the youngest dawson member, Mary's hatred for Elaena never wavered. The green monster stood tall in the blonde woman and it would never fall. Often showing the monster to the small brunette no matter the situation.
The monster inside not reflecting the beauty on the outside. With her pin straight blonde hair and green eyes, she was rather beautiful. She was the women people wished to be and men wished to be with. If only they saw her true colours they would not be saying that.
Her father, Joseph Dawson was equally alluring with not only his looks but charm. Soft blond curls and bright blue eyes, a feature Elaena was blessed with while her siblings her mothers eyes.
Joseph was man who despised almost everyone but his Elaena and on occasions, his siblings. His rough demeanour was something that was shown only to others and not his daughter. He was a well known man that would not be messed with.
Even with her protests, her father would continue to show his blatant favouritism towards Elaena, perhaps that is why mother despised her. Why she encouraged her children to never include her in anything.
Her siblings looked rather identical to her mother with the luscious locks and beautiful green eyes, it made her stand out something she use to hate but with reassurance from her loving father she embraced it.
Long wavy dark auburn hair that would often become more curl at the end of a day. Her gentle eyes and smile much like her fathers. Though it was not rare with her features as her grandfather held the same coloured hair as did her mothers banished sister.
Like clock work every morning she would sit next to her father as they polished their breakfast together, chatting happily to one another. As she walked into the overly large dining room, she felt the tension in the air. Her parents were most likely cross with one another, a daily occurrence.
Walking past her mother and siblings, who sat on the other side of her father, with her head down tightening her hold on her small friend. The chatter coming to a halt as she walked closer towards her father.
Having already caught his gaze, he placed his copy of the daily prophet down onto the table. A bright smile on his lips now as he pulled her seat out for her. Petting the kitten before kissing his daughters head in greeting, a notion that made all on the other side of the table frown out of envy.
"I was beginning to worry you would sleep forever." Stormy, the kitten meowed loudly making Mary glare hatefully as she watched her husband pet the awful creature. If only he would do that to her. "Okay Stormy you shall have breakfast."
He was in the arms of a house elf before she knew it and was off towards the kitchen.
"How are you feeling my flower?" A gentle expression on her face as he stared at his daughter with loving eyes, her shaky breaths making him frown softly.
"A little nervous Papa but I think I will be fine." Grinning at her unsure sounding response.
"You'll do great my flower, no doubt that you'll excel in all of your school work." Placing a pancake on her plate before looking across the table. "Better than most." He glowered at his daughters and sons whose heads were narrowed at their laps. Some average, the others just better with most of their studies.
Elaena would make him proud.
His mood was quickly ruined as his spiteful wife spoke up. "Yes and you will do well not to taint our name by associating with blood traitors or mud bloods." Her hatred showing against others was unwavering.
With narrow eyes as he locked onto his smug looking wife just sitting a few feet away. A switch turned off and his eyes were dangerously lowered onto her figure. Turning to his daughter with a grin who looked at him with nervous eyes.
"Any house will be lucky to have you, remember love that you make your own destiny. No one else." This voice was reserved just for her, delicate and kind. "Now wipe that frown from your face or ill spin you till you get sick."
Elaena held nothing but adoration and happiness as she gazed into his eyes. Not noticing the sad expressions of her older siblings as they stared at the whispering duo. Watching as the eleven year old ran out of the room with a happy beam.
"How about we have one last painting day, out in the gardens." The second her feet left the room, her siblings watched as the soft smile fell from his face as he stood, making his way over to their mother.
Standing nervously as her husband slivered his way closer, flinching when he yanked her towards his body. Her upper arms in a tight grip, her children not really bothering to intervene as this was nearly a daily thing.
"You will not ruin our last days together Mary, I will not warn you again." Her voice was stuck in her throat as she felt him release her, staggering back as she walked his broad figure stagger off. A sigh of relief leaving her as she watched him leave the room.
"He would never strike you mother but I have told you many times not to cross father." Her eldest son, Mikael spoke with an annoyed tone. "I will not go against him, none of us will." Despite the anger they felt towards their father, the love they held towards him and their sister even was much greater than the fake love their mother showed them in front of others.
Watching as their mother gaped at her eldest sons words before storming out of the room. How did she love such a beast of a man. Mary wasn't surprise at her husbands actions nor her children's words, realising that a long time ago that he would protect Elaena against anyone.
It was a typical breakfast in the dawson home, one that ended up in a wife's jealousy and a husbands vengeance. After all the world heard of the famous temper that was held in the man, knowing not to cross him in his path of rage.
Especially when it came to protecting his littlest flower.
