an: hey guys, it's been a while. i got bored and kinda missed writing so i decided to write another bonus chapter just for u guys.

i don't exactly remember this storyline and my writing style has changed a lot since i wrote this book so i'm not sure if you'll be able to tell but it's whatever. (it definitely won't be as cringe as the rest of the book)

i might start properly writing bonus chapters but if i continue this, the maximum amount i'll write is ten, if i even have the time to.

anyways, enough rambling, i hope you enjoy <3

My alarm blared in my ear and I tumbled out of my bed as I let out a scream. I managed to pull the sheets down with me, unfortunately.

My room door burst open and Lexi and Gracie stood at the door and their eyes travelled to me, on the floor, in a ball of sheets.

Gracie had her hand on the door handle and she scoffed as Lexi tilted her head to the side as she peered at me.

"This isn't even shocking," Gracie deadpanned and Lexi still looked confused. "I-I don't understand-" She stuttered as she gestured to me and I blew my disheveled hair out of my face.

"This happened almost everyday in college. It's standard Madison behaviour," Gracie clarified and I glared at her. "I don't fall out of bed everyday," I scoffed and she raised her eyebrow.

"You gotta prep, the expo's in three hours," She reminded me as she moved away from my door.

"Fine. Get dressed," Gracie urged before leaving.

"B-But you're good right? Nothing broken or hurt?" Lexi asked and I nodded as I finally got off the floor and trudged to the bathroom, with the sheets.

I showered, washed my hair and blowdried it before moisturising and putting on plain old sweats. I brushed my teeth and did my morning routine before a loud bang sounded on my hotel room door.

Max.

"Mads! Get out!" He yelled as I grabbed my phone and room key and swung the door open just in time before Max banged my door again.

"You gotta go, hair and makeup woke me up calling about you and you gotta stretch too before the show!" He said as he gestured to the stairs and I smiled up at him.

He frowned as he looked down at me. "What's your problem?" He scoffed and I stood on my toes and ruffled his hair, to which he swatted my hand. "Nothing little brother." I replied before running down the corridor.

"It's cute that you care!" I yelled as I reached the staircase.

"I don't!" He shouted back and I rolled my eyes before running down seven flights of stairs and reached the ground floor.

That's cardio out of the way...

"There you are!" Hurry up!" Gracie drilled as she handed me a bottle of water and a granola bar. "What kind of breakfast is this?" I scoffed in disbelief as I opened the bar and ate half of it in one bite.

"We didn't have time okay, you could've been up earlier," Gracie protested as we speed walked through the bush streets of New York.

"Noah's got a football game with back to back training and I've got the expo for the next three days. We didn't have any other time to talk," I said quietly.

I miss him. A lot.

This place seriously never rests.

The streets were filled with honking cars, zooming taxis and loud street-sellers. On each corner was a different dance crew blasting their music. Times Square was ten times worse.

I don't think I could ever settle for this; the fast life, but it's fun every once in a while. Besides, it gives me more energy than this granola bar ever could.

"Don't worry there's a large breakfast buffet set up for the dancers so you can eat whilst you get ready," Gracie added as she matched my speed, even in boot heels. "How'd you know that?" I asked curiously before shoving the empty packet in my pocket and opening up the water.

"Alexis is already there," She informs me as we reach the building for the expo. There were large, blown-up pictures of dancers hanging on the walls next to the entrance and the overwhelming feeling of excitement and nerves sunk in.

"Don't call her that. She hates that," I said, referring to Lexi's name as Gracie held the door open for me and I walked in.

"We'll I don't care, that's her name," She shot back as we walked through the lobby, that was full of people in various costumes.

"Okay, Graciela," I retorted and Gracie scoffed. "Fine, Lexi it is," She grumbled as she crossed her arms and I smiled.

My eyes glanced to the seven large banners that took up an entire wall. My eyes landed on my face that was on one of them.

There were lots of group acts performing today but the dancer's panel were a carefully selected group of seven, the best of the best in the country.

Jonas Andrews, Florence Maddison, April Addams, Nicolette Grey, Avery Miller, Elijah Bailey and me.

We were pretty much the main event of the entire expo and I've been training for months for this day.

I was selected because of my talent, but I'm not professionally training right now, so I had to catch up on a lot, compared to the rest of the panel who were pursuing dance careers.

I still didn't know what I wanted to do.

"Okay, we don't have time. We have to go," Gracie urged as she tugged my arm and pulled me to the back room reserved for the panel. We each had a section to get ready and everyone else was already there.

"Finally!" Lexi yelled as she approached us with a plate full of food. "Awh you got that for me?" I asked sweetly and her face fell.

"Hell no, this is for me," She muttered as she grabbed a strip of bacon from her plate and put it in her mouth. "Bitch," I shot back before I was pulled away by a team of people to get dress.

I had hair and makeup done in under 40 minutes and I grabbed a bit of food before I had to rehearse.

My routine was pretty complicated for someone who wasn't training professionally. Lexi and Gracie watched me from the side as I put my pointe shoes on and Max appeared too.

"So you dance? In those?" He asked stupidly as he pointed to the shoes and I rolled my eyes and stood up.

"Yes."

"Does it hurt?" He asked as I moved to the bar in front of the mirror.

I took a deep breath before pushing up on pointe and holding it before descending. "Not anymore. I'm used to it now," I answered as I repeated it again and again.

"Do your toes not squish-"

"Max, leave her alone," Gracie chimed in and I mentally thanked her. It was silent as I kept pushing myself up and down.

"So you gonna wear a big tutu?-"

"Max!" I yelled out loud and he apologised as Lexi and Gracie dragged him away and left me alone to rehearse.

After gaining my footing, I moved away from the bar and marked my routine, going over it and practicing the more difficult parts full-out.

"You look good," A voice said and I turned around and smiled to see my friend.

Jonas Andrews. He's the only person on the panel I can really call my friend, the others are more or less acquaintances. But we're all pretty tight and we developed some sort of family bond.

"Well I try," I replied as I pushed my curls away from my shoulder and he crossed his arms, his muscles bulging slightly.

He's a contemporary dancer, performing a duet with one of the girls and is really good. I'd say I was envious, but I'm not too bad myself.

"You done warming up? You don't wanna overwork yourself-" He questioned and I waved him off. "Don't worry about me. Im good, I'm ready," I said and he shook his head.

"No, I just wanted to make sure. Wouldn't want you messing up," He pointed out and I nodded. "I know you have great advice for first expo's so hit me," I said as I rubbed my hands together and he couldn't hold back his smile.

"Drink lots of water, make sure you got your routine down, and be in costume at least an hour before the expo starts. You don't wanna be running around looking for things when you should be prepping to go on stage. You're first remember?"

I blew out a shaky breath. "Yeah, how could I forget?" I asked warily and Jonas opened his arms out for a hug. "Don't worry, they wouldn't put you first if they didn't think you weren't good enough. You're setting the bar for the rest of us, so do us a favour and set it high," He teased and I nodded before pulling away.

"Alright, I better get dressed. It's almost an hour," I said and he let me go get ready.

****************

"Curtains up in 10! Can I have Madison at the wings please! Madison at the wings!" The intercom yelled as I checked my hair one more time before checking my phone.

Noah sent me a good luck text and I quickly responded before racing to the wings. One of the members of the event team was waiting and she sighed in relief as she saw me.

"Great, you're early. You good? Ready?" She asked as I shrugged off my hoodie over my corset and adjusted my skirt.

It is a tutu. I'm not fond of it.

"Yeah, I'm ready," I said as Jonas appeared and took my hoodie from me.

"You'll be great," He assured and the event administrator was wrapping up her opening speech. There was applause and the curtain fell.

"Damn it sounds like there's a lot of people," Another one of the panel dancers appeared and the others came.

"I know," I mumbled as I closed my eyes and slowly counted to 10. "Don't stress you'll be great," Avery said as she rubbed my arm for reassurance and I reopened my eyes.

"We'll be here cheering! Well not during the dance because then you won't hear the music-"

"April!" Jonas hissed and she cowered slightly before giving me a brave smile.

"Your on. Curtains up in 10 seconds." A member of the team said and I fistbumped Jonas as I walked out onto the dimmed stage.

The curtains went up and I kept my face straight despite the piercing screens and the loud thumping of my heart in my ears.

The music began and I counted myself in and took a deep breath before pushing up on pointe.

************

"I am so done," Florence muttered and I smiled as I finished the signature I was doing before leaning back on my seat.

"It's been a long day," I mumbled and Jonas groaned. "And it's only day 1," He responded as I handed the small girl her autograph and she grinned. Another handed me their poster of me doing an arabesque with the expo logo on the corner, along with my name written in bold along the side.

"Your performance was my favourite," She grinned as her mom stood next to her and I looked up and smiled. "Well I'm so glad you enjoyed it," I replied as I handed her my autograph.

"I need a break," I mumbled as I dropped the sharpie on the table and flexed my fingers before picking it up again.

"Oh my gosh, hottie alert," Florence hissed as she leaned into me. "Where?" I laughed as I signed another autograph and looked at her.

"He's in your line. Damn you're so lucky," She grumbled and I shook my head. "Oh, no I have a guy anyways. I'm not interested-"

"Yeah we know, you guys are kinda insta-famous." April added as she leaned in and I scoffed and shook my head.

"You guys are overreacting," I mumbled as I took the decorative pin in my hair from my performance out and fluffed the roots as my curls bounced.

An autograph was placed in front of me and I didn't bother looking up. "Who am I making this out to?" I asked as I already signed my signature.

"How about to your boyfriend?"

I froze as I recognised the voice. I lifted up my head and I immediately leaned back on my seat as I took in Noah standing there, roses in hand.

"Awh that's so cute!" April gushed and I could feel myself crying.

Others noticed and soon there was a loud eruption of cheers and applause as I covered my face.

"What are you doing here?" I laughed as I got up leaned over the table and he gave me a hug. "Surprise!" He teased as he pulled away and kissed me softly before kissing me again on my cheek. "You were amazing," He whispered over the applause and I smiled.

"You was watching?" I choked and he nodded as the cheers died down. "Here, I know you're busy so when you're done, just come and ask find me," He whispered and I smiled and nodded as I sat back down in my seat.

"Here you go," A member of the event team handed me a box of tissues and I took one as I fixed my face.

"That was so cute, you guys are so cute," Florence gushed as I moved my roses to the table behind me.

I smiled to myself as I continued signing.
