Ash's POV
I opened the door to our new house and Serena almost walked in.
"Wait, wait, wait, wait... Don't go inside just yet!" I said and stopped my wife, who gave me a confused look.
I only smiled, picked her up bridal style and carried Serena across the doorway in my hands.
"Wow, I didn't know you had such a utopic imagination about this. I feel like in some kind of fairytale." She reacted.
"Huh? What do you mean? I thought it was normal." I said, totally confused.
"Never mind... You made it real and that's what matters... my prince." Serena said, stepping closer to me and ruffled my hair.
"You're so cutely dumb, Mr. Ketchum." The Kalos Queen continued, when I grabbed her hand so she would stop messing with my hair.
"Well, your meter of cuteness has overflown a long time ago, Mrs. Ketchum." I said with a huge emphasis on 'Mrs. Ketchum', as we put our foreheads together and wrapped our hands around each other.
"Wise choice of words, world champ. You got lucky that you haven't said 'mater of dumbness'." Serena whispered.
"Well, some might argue that luck is always on my side, and I guess it may be true, I got a lot of amazing Pokemon, a beautiful wife, wonderful friends, a World Champion title, a fine new house... geez, I might be the luckiest man alive..." I said and Serena chuckled before kissing me deeply.
A time flew quickly... We settled in our new house quickly and soon after, duties called.
"Alola, Kiawe! Alola, Olivia! It's nice that I've found you together. You spared me some traveling." I said, greeting my friend and the Akala Island kahuna, who were training together.
"Alola, Ash! That's a pretty nice Charizard! I mean, I've seen him in the TV, but in person he's so much more impressive!" Kiawe, amazed by my Charizard, said after greeting me back.
"Yeah, Gary, together with professor Oak, installed this crazy high-tech computer in our house, so, I now have access to all my Pokemon, and I don't have to call professor Oak to transfer them anymore, I just bring out any of my Pokemon I want." I explained.
"Cool! Anyway, what brings you here, Ash?" Olivia asked, petting my Charizard too.
"I'd like to ask you something." I said straightforwardly.
"How many Pokemon do you have, Kiawe?" I asked.
"Well, I haven't caught any since you left." Kiawe answered.
"So, still your three Pokemon?" I made sure and after receiving a positive answer, it kinda made me sad, because I really wanted Kiawe in my Elite Four.
"Aghh, that's shame... I'd like you to caught at least, three more, preferably Fire types. And maybe someday in the future you can join." I said, confusing both Kiawe and Olivia.
"What are you talking about, Ash? What can I join in the future?" Kiawe wondered.
"Oh, yeah, you know, I'm creating my Alolan Elite Four, and I wanted both of you in it." I explained.
"Both of us?" Olivia wondered. "Then who would be the Akala Island kahuna?" She continued.
"Oh, yeah, I haven't thought about it..." I responded. "Anyway, Olivia, you're a Rock type specialist, aren't you?" I added.
"Yes, I have eight Rock types and a Stufful." Olivia responded.
"Great, then, may I ask you to become a member of the Alolan Elite Four? Please?" I offered her.
"I don't know... Depends on Kiawe, if he can handle being a new Akala Island kahuna." She said and we both turned to Kiawe.
"A new kahuna?!" He reacted.
"Yeah, that's why you started training with my on the first place. Remember?" Olivia reminded him and he agreed.
"So... Olivia, can I get your autograph here, then?" I asked, handing Olivia a paper with a pen.
"What's this?" She wondered.
"It's an application. I'll have to send it to Charles Goodshow, he's the president of League Competition Committee. If I want to create an Elite Four, he's the man who can make it official." I explained.
Olivia nodded and wrote her name in the first column on the paper and then she wrote her signature next to her name.
"Thanks so much Olivia! Welcome on board!" I shook hands with my new Elite Four member.
"Who's gonna be the other members?" Kiawe asked.
"Good question, now that I can't sign you, I guess Acerola is next candidate. My third member will hopefully be Gladion. And I guess I'll make a tournament and the winner will be the fourth member, although, if one certain trainer accepts my invitation to the tournament, I have suspicious he'll win it. So, one more time, thanks! Next stop, Acerola!" I responded, jumped on my Charizard, and waved them before I left.
I headed straight to Ula'ula Island to meet Acerola, but Nanu, the kahuna of the Island, said that Acerola went to help out Lillie.
Lillie founded a kindergarten, where young children can play outside with wild Pokemon, which earlier lived in the park of Aether family's mansion. She, with two more teachers, also prepare the young children for going to school, where prof. Kukui still teaches his classes.
Serena, if she's free, sometimes helps Lillie too in the kindergarten, making Pokemon performances for the children or just spending time with them, looking after them.
So, I went back to the Melemele Island, to find Acerola.
I found her in Lillie's kindergarten, as Nanu said, helping Lillie looking after the kids.
I presented her my offer and she happily accepted it. We had a Pokemon battle, which I said to be a show for the kids, but I really just wanted to test what lies inside Acerola, so I wasn't holding back a bit. I was surprised when I almost lost to Acerola's Ghost types, and I assured myself that Acerola is a good choice for my Elite Four.
"See kids! No matter if you win or lose, you always respect your opponent and you shake hands." I heard Lillie explaining.
"And remember, no harm feelings towards your opponent!" I added.
"Mr. Champion is right, kids! No harm feelings..." Acerola agreed with me and signed the application I handed her.
"Thanks, Acerola! Welcome on board!" I said when she returned the paper.
"Hey, Lillie. Do you, by any chance, know where Gladion is?" I asked the blond girl.
"Yes, he's at home, preparing to travel somewhere, again. If you hurry, you might be able to meet him." Lillie answered.
"Thanks! See you everybody! Take care!" I said and waved as I ran towards the mansion of Aether family.
"Alola, Mr. Ketchum. What can I do for you?" The Aether family butler greeted me.
"Alola, Hobbes. Can I speak with Gladion?" I responded.
"Sure, please come in." He said and opened the doors for me.
"Mr. Gladion, you have a visitor!" Hobbes announced, knocking on Gladion's doors.
"Who is it?" I've heard Gladion's voice from inside.
"It's the World Champion, Mr. Ash Ketchum, sir." Hobbes responded.
"Oh, let him in then." Gladion said and I've heard that he's surprised.
"Alola, Gladion. How're you doing?" I said, stepping inside and greeting Lillie's older brother.
"I'm doing fine, congrats to becoming a world champion." He responded.
"Thanks! I was actually surprised that you didn't take part in the tournament." I said, because before the tournament, I was sure Gladion is going to participate.
"I wanted to, but I lost my all or nothing qualification match against Korrina and didn't earn enough points to be able to participate." He explained.
"Oh, Korrina... Tough opponent for sure." I said, nodding.
"You know her?" He wondered.
"You bet! I traveled with her for a while, when she was training her Lucario and mastering the Mega-evolution." I explained.
"Ok... Anyway, what brings you here?" Gladion asked.
"I came here to ask you some questions." I responded.
"Go on! What do you want?" Gladion said.
"I assume you caught a bunch of new Pokemon while traveling?" I began and received a positive answer, which pleased me.
"Alright, so, would you like to sign this?" I asked, handing Gladion the application for the Elite Four.
"What's this?" He asked.
"I'm creating the Alolan Elite Four and I want you in." I said, giving Gladion a pen. "I know that I wouldn't be able to hold you here in Alola, so I assure you that you can travel as much as you want, even if you sign." I added.
"What are the duties of an Elite Four member?" Gladion asked.
"Represent the Alolan region and face the winner of the league conference once he challenges the Elite Four in his way to battle me for my title. Plus, maybe helping with organization of the league conference." I presented.
"Hmm... Are there any benefits of being an Elite Four member?" He asked next.
"Well, Elite Four members are highly skilled and highly respected Pokemon trainers. Being part of any Elite Four is sign of being officially one of the best battlers in the whole region. Plus, for example Cynthia's Elite Four members are allowed to challenge her for her title any time they want. And I think I'll allow it to my Elite Four too, to challenge me for the Alolan Champion title." I explained.
"Well, that doesn't sound bad..." Gladion responded.
"So...? Are you in?" I asked.
"Ok, I'm in!" Gladion said and signed the application.
"Thanks! Welcome on board, Gladion of the Elite Four!" I said, shaking hands with Lillie's brother.
"By the way, are you going to ask professor Kukui to become the fourth member?" Gladion asked.
"No, I spoke about it with him earlier and he declined it. I understand him, he's a teacher, a region's professor, and the Masked Royal, all in one person. On top of that he has a family, so he really doesn't have time." I explained and Gladion nodded.
"Oh... I understand..." he responded.
And just like that, the time was flowing forward in our lives...
"Electivire! Use Thunder Punch!"
"And that's it! Golisopod is unable to battle! This round and a win goes to Paul and Electivire!" I announced, ruling Guzma's Golisopod out of the final battle.
After my words, Paul, who accepted my invitation at last, became the winner of the tournament for the last spot in the Elite Four.
"Hey! Thanks for coming, Paul!" I caught up with him.
"No prob..." He responded.
"So, are you going to become one of us?" Olivia asked him, as other members approached us as well.
"I assume you're the other Elite Four..." Paul addressed Olivia, Acerola and Gladion.
They gave him a positive answer and introduced to him.
"I guess, I might as well join in..." Paul responded.
"Wow, thanks! Welcome on board, Paul of the Elite Four!" I said, handing him the application, which he signed, together with a Z-ring.
"And you think I can use it?" He asked, examining the Z-ring.
"Oh, c'mon... My wife can use it, and she had, not counting contest battles, two proper battles in her life." I explained. "And get familiar with Alolan legends as well." I instructed him.
"I can recommend you to take part in the island trials. There's a kahuna on each of the four main islands. The kahuna will test your skills and will reward you with the Z-crystal if you pass. There're also totem Pokemon in the wild, from whom you can earn Z-crystals as well." Olivia instructed her fellow Elite Four.
"Thanks... I'll be sure to check it out." Paul responded putting on his new Z-ring. Then he waved us and left.
And with that, our lives continued... I submitted the application for creating a new Elite Four to Charles Goodshow and he happily accepted it, so, Acerola, Olivia, Gladion, and Paul, in that order, officially became my Alolan Elite Four.
We lived quite a peaceful life for some months, and then Serena's phone rang...
"Ash? They need me in Kalos for some time?" She said after she hanged up the phone.
"How long is some time?" I asked.
"Two and a half weeks." She responded.
"Ok, and when you're going?" I asked next.
"Tomorrow morning..." She frowned.
"Tomorrow morning?! But we wanted to have a nice evening together..." I frowned too.
"Well... We can maybe, you know, skip the dinner in the restaurant, and go to the main course right away. This way we can have a nice evening and I'll get a plenty of sleep..." She said, slowly wrapping her hands around my body.
"I think you're getting plenty of 'sleep', one way or another..." I said and with that, we spent our "date" in bedroom...
After a quality night spent with my wife, I woke up to a beautiful Alolan morning and noticed that Serena has already left and is on her way to Kalos. I also noticed a piece of paper on her pillow.
"A note?" I wondered, picked it up and began reading.
Dear Ash,
I miss you already. I wanted to say goodbye, but at the same time I didn't want to wake you up, so I'm writing this note.
Thanks for the night! It was amazing!
See you soon!
Your loving wife,
Serena Ketchum
PS: CHANGE THE BED SHEETS! YOU AIN'T SLEEPING IN THAT MESS!
And with that, almost three weeks without seeing my wife began...
I must say, it was pretty weird not seeing Serena. I mean, we were calling each other every day, but it wasn't quite it. And a fact that time is shifted by 7 hours... Sometimes, it was really late when Serena was calling, because she hadn't had a chance to call earlier than at 6 PM Kalosian time, which is 1 AM Alolan time, for example.
I was doing normal stuff... I attended Paul's final island trail, went on the Manolo Stadium to see how the reconstruction is going, met professor Kukui, professor Burnet, Lusamine, Rotomdex and others in the Aether Paradise, helping them a bit with their research, trained with Kiawe, met with Sophocles, and so on...
One day, when Lillie invited me to her kindergarten to put some show for the kids and their parents, I was just on the podium talking about my journeys, when my phone rang...
I looked at the phone and seeing Serena's picture on the screen, I immediately knew that something's not right...
"Sorry Lillie, I must pick this up..." I said before turning to the audience. "Listen kids... There're only two people in the world who, when they call, you always have to pick it up! One is your mother, and the second is your wife! So, you'll have to excuse me because my wife's calling..." I said and heard some dads chuckling when I was leaving the podium.
"This is weird... Hey Rotom! What time is it in Lumiose City?" I asked.
"It's currently 8:24 in the morning in Lumiose City in Kalos region." Rotom answered.
I really had a bad feeling when I picked the call up, and my nightmares were immediately fulfilled.
"Hi, Sere! What's up?" I picked up the call from my lovely wife.
No response...
"Sere? Are you there? Do you hear me?" I tried reaching out for her.
Then I heard crying... It was undoubtedly Serena, and I panicked...
"Serena?! What's going on? Talk to me! Is everything alright?" My hands began shaking when Serena wasn't answering, only quietly sobbing to the phone...
"Ash... I... I'm... Ashyyy...!" Was all, what Serena was able to say in between sobs, before she started crying even more.
"You? You're what? Are you alright? What's happening?!" I asked, but didn't receive any answer, only heard Serena crying.
"Never mind... Hang on! I'm going to Kalos!" I said, ended the phone call and brought out Dragonite from his Pokeball.
"What's going on Ash?" Lillie, who just arrived from the podium, wondered.
"I don't know... Something has happened to Serena... She called me, and when I picked it up, she was crying... She didn't say a single word during whole call, she only cried! I must go to Kalos, now! Tell everybody that I'm sorry!" I explained, jumped on Dragonite's back and flew in the direction of Kalos.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And there it is! A twist I was talking about! What could have possibly happened to Serena? You'll find out in the next chapter, which will be from Serena's point of view, and a whole visit in Kalos will be described. And it will be a last chapter of this book as well...
I must say that I'm pretty surprised with myself! I wrote 3 chapters in 10 days! But it's true that I haven't done pretty much anything else in those 10 days than sitting here on my chair, typing on my cheap keyboard. It's so much fun tho xD
Anyway...
Thank you for amazing support! It always lifts up my mood!
'Til next time!
