A few weeks had passed without Quinn running into Carter anywhere. She was happy about it, but was also anxious that he'd pop up at any moment.
Quinn kept busy with the girls, and Noah kept busy with work and with the lawyers, although things were somewhat stagnant. They were basically just waiting for a court date.
Quinn was pulled from her thoughts as someone knocked on the apartment door. She got up and opened the door, smiling when she saw it was Finn.
"Hey." Quinn said, letting Finn in. "Noah's not here."
"I know." Finn replied.
Quinn furrowed her eyebrow as she closed the apartment door behind Finn. "I didn't know you were coming. I would've cleaned up a little."
"I just came by to hang out with you." Finn said. "And to see how you're doing. Puck said there's really nothing new."
"Yeah, not really." Quinn responded. "But I'm okay. I know we're gonna get everything settled soon, and then I'll go back to work and things will be fine."
Finn nodded slowly.
"I don't need you or Santana or Noah, or anyone, to babysit me." Quinn said softly.
"No one's babysitting you." Finn promised. "We're all trying to help. Besides, Santana and I were there for a lot of the crap you went through."
Quinn bit her lip.
"I came here so we could hang out." Finn clarified. "I don't wanna make you upset or uncomfortable."
"I'm not upset with you." Quinn noted. "I'm upset with Carter and myself for getting everyone into this mess."
"None of this is your fault." Finn told Quinn. "You're a good mom, Quinn. And a good person. This is on Carter, not you."
"I just want all of this to be over." Quinn stated. "Beth shouldn't have to go through this."
"Have you talked to her about it?" Finn wondered.
Quinn nodded. "Noah and I have tried to tell her as much as we can without scaring her. We just want her to know the truth."
"She knows." Finn nodded back. "And you and Puck know what she can handle."
"Yeah." Quinn said as her phone went off. "Speak of the devil. That's Noah."
