(Uh I'm so bad at naming chapters)

Conner's pov.

"Okay, you are so going down," Jack said, jabbing his thumb into a button on his controller. He and Conner were in the middle of an intense Mario Cart game, and Conner was in the lead.

"Yeah, I don't think so," Conner said, throwing a banana peel behind him. Jack just barely missed it with his cart.

"Ha!" Conner pumped his arm triumphantly as he passed the finish line. "Winner" flashed on his screen.

Jack scowled and tossed his controller on the couch. He grumpily watched Conner as he did a victory dance across the living room.

"Yeah, I won, I'm the best, I'm awesome, oh yeah!!" Conner sung off-key as he wiggled around the room, a smile on his face.

Jack rolled his eyes at his friend. "Okay, best two out of three," he said grabbing his controller again.

"Losing one time wasn't enough for you, huh?" Conner said, smirking as he sunk back down into his beanbag chair and started the game.

It was a casual way to spend a Saturday. But Conner's day was about to get very interesting....

Your pov.

It was a chilly day. That was the first thing you noticed when you stepped outside your front door. But you continued outside anyway, zipping up your jacket.

You were going for a bike ride. Really, it was very cold to be outside, but you couldn't stand another episode of "Dora the Explorer," the show that your sister was addicted to, so you decided to get some fresh air.

You hopped on your bike. It was a vibrant blue, like lightning, and had white spirals the danced across it. The handlebars were a brilliant yellow.

You peddled down the sidewalk, letting your thoughts wander. Some how, you found yourself thinking of a strawberry blond haired person.

Conner.

You let out a sigh without meaning to as his face appeared in your head. Conner, with his adorable dimples and blue eyes.

Wait, since when did you think he was adorable?

You felt your face heat up even though you were alone. Why were you even thinking about him?

Why was it that this insignificant boy occupied your thoughts most of the time? What was it about him that made you feel like a firework had been set off in your stomach?

A car honked its horn, snapping you back to reality. You were in the middle of crossing the road, though you weren't sure why you were, as you watched a car speed toward you. You swerved to avoid being run over, but you lost control. You fell of your bike onto the asphalt, scraping your hands and knees. Blood appeared, but you were to worried about the car. You pushed yourself up, leaving your bike in the road, and rushed to the safety of the sidewalk.

When you reached there, you whipped around in time to see your bike being run over. When the car disappeared down the road, without so much as a second glance, you looked at your bike in the street. The front tire was bent in several places, one of the handles has fallen off, and the pedals were snapped. You glared at it and dragged it out of the road to the sidewalk.

Just great.

You gritted you teeth, glaring at your hands. You had a headache that flared behind your eyes, and both hands and knees were red with blood.

Angrily, you flipped your wrist to check the time. 6:45 p.m. You looked at your surroundings, trying to find anything familiar, trying to remember your way back home, but you must have been to distracted when pumping, 'cause all you recalled was the car incident.

How did you even get this far? It had only felt like you were riding for 5 seconds when suddenly you were almost dead.

Granted, you had been thinking of him. The one boy that made reality feel like a dream, for whatever reason. That made time a distant thing.

You gritted your teeth again, shivering from the fresh blast of wind that just had started, making goosebumps appear.

You had to get back home.

Dizzily, you set out in the direction you came from. After a few moments of walking, you reached a turn. Left or right. You chose left, since that was were you came from. Right? It was definitely the left. At least, you thought it was.

You scowled as you came to the next turn, choosing right that time. You knew in your heart that it was a lost cause. You were lost in unfamiliar land.

Tears burned the back of your eyes. You knew you were over reacting, but with the massive migraine you had and the dizzying sight of the scrapes and bruises on your knees and hands, you couldn't help it.

"Are you okay?" A gentle voice asked. When you turned around, you found a slender woman, maybe in her thirties, on the front lawn of her house. The door was still open, and the woman had a concerned look on her face.

"Are you okay?" She repeated.

You tried to nod, but your head hurt so bad that you could only stand there, staring.

The girl walked closer, talking in a soothing voice. You didn't hear half the things she said, but somewhere in the back of your mind your brain was screaming, "STRANGER DANGER! STRANGER DANGER!!"

Stop being practical, you told it. You knew you should be running, but you were so tired and scared and oh, how your head hurt.

"Hey," the woman said, wrapping you in a hug. You hadn't realized how close she had gotten until she was there. You stood there, frozen with surprise. "Are you lost?"

You knew that you shouldn't tell her. But you nodded, to weak to deny it.

The woman smiled sadly. "Here," she said, taking your hand. "Let's go inside. I'll help you."

Sirens went off in your brain, screaming RUN! RUN! RUN! You tried to ignore them, because they weren't helping your headache. But it seemed like such a bad idea to follow the woman, especially on her house, where no one would see her do anything.

Still, she seemed nice, and you were far to tired and far to hurt to run.

You stumbled across the lawn with the help of the woman, and you carefully stepped up the stairs of her porch. You walked through the still open door to find

not who you were expecting.

A/N that was part one! I hope you enjoyed! Please comment, vote, and continue reading! Thanks!
