Four months passed much more quickly than I would have guessed. Everything changed after I faked dying of an overdose. Well, everything changed, but it took some time before the change started.
The first two months were pretty much the same routine as before that day. The only difference was that I didn't receive heroin shots as frequently. They gave me a double dose on that day, but they only drugged me every other night at first. Eventually, it was roughly every third night.
I could tell that all the heroin was starting to affect my skin and hair. My hair grew coarse over time and lost some of its blonde color. I also started having ugly red spots on my face, and my skin started to feel greasy and rough. Many of the other girls around here were much worse than I was, though. Years of these conditions deteriorates the body, and I've fortunately only been here just a few months. Still, the fact that there were a lot of bad changes happening to my body scared me.
What drove me the crazy was that I was able to kill off an entire Russian military complex, yet I had not found an opportunity to steal a weapon and kill these guards. I don't know. I think deep-down my fear for the other girls around me is what has kept me from making risky moves. I feel like... to some degree... that I deserve these circumstances. That I need to be punished for my past wrongdoings. After all, I willfully stabbed Nolan right in the stomach and killed off several scientists who probably wouldn't have hurt me. They probably had families waiting for them to come home that night, but they never did.
Was I an evil person for what I had done? After all, there were alternative ways to get off the island without betraying Nolan's trust and physically hurting him. On the other hand, it was what I calculated as the action that led to the greatest chance of both our survivals. What am I to do in these situations? Should I be mad at myself for not breaking out of this place? Should I be mad at myself for my past mistakes? I don't know the answers to these questions, but perhaps the answers will be clear in the future.
For now, the past is the past. I should reflect on the past, but I can't let it weigh me down right now. In the last month, I've really gotten to know two other girls. Candy and Anna gave me the most support over time. Anna was one of the older girls who was in the same room where I had my first "customer."
I didn't have a lot of time to talk to either Candy or Anna, but I took advantage of the time I did have. That was perhaps part of my downfall thus far. At this point, I was allowing my own life to be ruined together with the other girls instead of escaping and leaving them to fend for themselves. If it were two months ago back when I was in Russia, I wouldn't have hesitated to ditch this place and kill everyone along the way.
I've learned so many things from these girls. Well, a lot of it is about sex and drugs, but it was very helpful and useful information, especially for my survival. I learned that I'm still technically a virgin. They say it's probably because I'm still too young to be attracted to most of their "customers." I'm not sure why, but I haven't been requested by another man, and I don't think that one wealthy looking man came back. Or at least he didn't want me again. I am perfectly fine with that. I think some of the girls negotiated with the guards too. None of the girls explicitly said it, but I pick that up in some conversations. That was a big reason why I just couldn't leave them behind. Outside of Nolan, these girls were the first people who actually showed me true compassion. I guess I now know what Nolan was talking about when he said there were good people out there. Who would have thought I would have found them here? In one of the dirtiest and most rotten places on the face of the planet.
I figured something else was going on. Candy and Anna wouldn't be able to bargain or persuade any of the guards under normal circumstances. At best, the guards would laugh and spit in their face at such a request. At worst, the guards would repeatedly hit or kick them in the face for even thinking of such a suggestion. That's how I knew they probably had direct orders from their boss. Apparently when I met him, I had some sort of lasting impression on him. He had some other plans for me... but what exactly was he planning? I was less frequently drugged and not forced to have sex. I mean... I'm not complaining, but... what was going on?
After about a month after I had met their boss, I figured out why I seemingly did manage to avoid daily heroin doses and the tougher sex work. Their boss came back one afternoon. He doesn't come here unless something significant had happened or was about to happen.
As I said before, we were allowed a small amount of supervised social time. One day he came by and interrupted my social time with Candy. We were in the mess hall on the ground floor just talking when he walked into the room with a set of armed guards. "Well, well, well," he started off. "I must say, I don't come down here very often. But you, my dear, have drawn my attention twice in a month. How do you do it?"
He came inside from the back entrance while I was facing the other way. When Candy saw who it was, she instinctively grabbed my hands and had a very frightened look on her face. I turned around to see him smoking a cigar while walking toward me. He was still about six meters or so away from us. He had sunglasses on this time, so I couldn't directly see his eyes. I didn't say anything at first, but I gave him a stern and skeptical look.
"What? No 'hello'? There's no need to be rude, Ivanna, although we both know that's not your real name," he said. Ivanna was the name I put on my passport. It was simply a random common Russian name that I used as a decoy, so no one knew that I went by Nikki. No one here knew that I went by Nikki, and I never used Ivanna here as a name either. Most people usually just called me 'little girl,' 'bitch' or 'blondie.' I didn't even use a different decoy name with Anna or Candy. It would be harder to trace my steps with identifiable names, even if they're decode names. And I'm still all about making it as hard as possible for someone to track me.
I was staring the boss down, but I could sense that Candy had a surprised look on her face. I paused for several moments before finally answering. "What do you want?" I went straight to the point. He's here for a reason.
"Ahh. You're a business-only kind of girl? That works well around here," he said with a chuckle. "Alright, straight to business then," he finished.
He paused for a moment, and I simply filled the silence with an obvious question. "And what business is that?"
"You're a mystery; a phantom; a ghost," he started. He continued, "But I'm a ghostbuster. I'm going to figure out who you are and what makes you tick." He was now only about two meters away from me when he stopped walking closer.
I already knew that he had my passport and probably then knew my travelling history. I knew I originated in Russia, especially since Ivanna is a Russian name. I wanted to find out the extent of his knowledge, but I had to be careful and slow about it. He definitely wasn't going to hand over that information. "Why? What's so special about me? I'm just a call girl after all, right?"
He laughed. "You may be just a call girl right now, but you were a whole different person before you arrived here. Do you miss the freedom? The adventure? Do you miss your friend? What's his name... Alek? Although I doubt that's his actual name either. So, first things first. What's your real name?"
I gave him a frown and said, "You and I both know that I would just give you another made up name. Why even bother asking the question?"
He laughed again. "Perhaps you're right. Trust and respect are earned. Developed. In a way, they're like a pet." He again started walking closer toward me, but he veered off to my left as if to walk around the table. "You must treat your pet with kindness and give them food and water to nourish them and help them grow. And they love you in return." He paused when he was at the side of the table right in between Candy and me. He put his hands on the table and then continued, "Or you could use fear and force." He grabbed Candy's hair and pulled her head backward. She screamed out in pain. He added in a dark and deep voice, "I've never been a good pet owner anyway."
I instinctively slapped my hand on the table but didn't make a move. He wasn't going to actually hurt her for no reason right now. He was instrumentally using her for what he was about to say next. He continued, "You like Candy here, don't you? It would be a shame if something were to happen to her because of your arrogance."
Great. Here comes a great dilemma that I have. On the one hand, I don't want to show this man any weakness which he could exploit. On the other hand, I don't want Candy to get hurt. Honestly, I don't know if I care about Candy that much to jeopardize everything in my life for her. Yet, I want to care. It's what would make me feel more human. But I'm not sure I'm actually there yet. It's a strange feeling: I want to care more, but I don't feel like I actually care. But... what would that even feel like? It's not like I don't care about her at all; I just don't care enough to take such a big risk and play into the hands of this man.
I get the sense that he's not wanting to hurt me, but he definitely wants to exploit me. If he really figures out what I'm capable of, he'd never want me hurt again. I think he senses that, but he still doesn't know the extent of my computer skills, survival skills, and intelligence.
Before I decide whether I want to play into his hands, I decide to probe a little more. "I still don't see what you want with me," I softly said. I gave up the look of frustration and looked much more relaxed.
He became infuriated, but I know it was an act. He slammed his hands on the table in front of me and yelled, "Cut the crap! You either learned French in Russia where no one speaks French, or you learned the language in only a week while in France. You know how to suppress your heart rate to look dead, and I want answers! NOW!" His eyes were maddened with anger, but I received my answer. He has no clue who he is dealing with, and I think I can easily exploit him at some point. I just had to make sure I don't cross him to where he'd kill me.
I sized him up by staring into his eyes unaffected by his tirade. Without even flinching a muscle, I responded, "I'll play."
He gave me a little bit of a dirty look because I turned it into a game rather than taking him completely seriously. But he didn't look mad. I'm sure he was. But if he showed it, we both would know that I just gained the upper hand. There was a certain level of intellectual challenge between the two of us. I had to keep it at that game because I was obviously outgunned at the moment.
He didn't respond right away. Our eyes met without breaking contact. After a few moments, I continued, "Let's talk somewhere more private."
I could tell Candy was scared for me. I could also sense that she was in awe of my composure. I couldn't break eye contact with this guy, though. If I broke eye contact with him, it would show he had a degree of dominion over me.
He continued to size me up and then smiled. "That's the plan," he said. I really don't think that was his original plan, but he had to make it look like he was at least one step ahead of me. He gestured to his crew to leave. Two guards picked me up by my armpits. I hated being carried around like I was a child. One day, I'll be big enough to hold my own physically against larger people. I gave a little grunt to show my displeasure of the situation, but there was nothing I could do.
From here, I think they either stop dosing me with heroin, or they'll use up so much of it that it'll kill me if I give them enough information. I could also see them feeding me to dogs or something gruesome like that. These people were ruthless and heartless when it came down to it. I liked to test their boundaries, but now I was hoping that I hadn't stepped too far.
I didn't get a chance to even look back at Candy. She didn't say anything. She knew she would be beat if she did. But I would be back one day. I hoped Candy and Anna were still alive by that point.
We eventually all arrived in a long car called a limousine, or "limo" for short. Several guards, the boss, and I went into the back of the limo. We were all quiet for the first few moments in the limo. Eventually boss-man spoke up. "So where do we begin with you?" he asked the question as if he knew he wasn't going to get the answer right away.
I gave him a slight smile. "I'm not much of a talker. I prefer to demonstrate my worth," I confidently said.
He was intrigued but chuckled. "Oh? And how is that?" he asked.
"Just get me to a computer, and you'll find out," I said with a cocky tone.
"A computer wiz? At your age?" he said but added nothing more. He just nodded his head with a skeptical look in his eyes.
Most of the rest of the way to wherever we were going was quiet. I finally spoke up and offered a concession, "If I give you a name to call me, will you give me a name to call you?" This exchange was more symbolic of a 'business' transaction for the future. He would be conceding some sort of respect to me if he granted this wish. I'm not sure if he will or not.
He could sense my wish to be on the same level as he was. He didn't concede anything to me. "You'll call me 'daddy,' and I'll call you 'bitch.' How does that sound?" That wasn't what I was looking for. But that will give me leverage to rebel in the future. I gave him a slight cocky smile, which told him that was also an answer that I could work with. He narrowed his eyes and gave me that same skeptical look.
We didn't say anything further until we arrived at his mansion. It was about a two-hour drive from where the brothel was located. I could see out the windows, so I should manage to find my way back whenever it was time. Finding the airport might be a more difficult task, though. I might be able to find an address of the airport somewhere in the mansion. I hoped he'd have all that type of information in some centralized location.
When we arrived there, two guards picked me up again by my arms. At least I wasn't in handcuffs at this point. I think my overall treatment is going to be a lot better now that I'm out here at the mansion.
Not even an hour later, I regretted the last statement that I had made. I was thrown into a room, and I'm pretty sure it was next to his office or something because there was a secretary right next to the door. I was on the opposite side of the room, and several guards put a chain lock around my neck just like in the basement back in France. Well... at least it was a mansion instead of a disgusting basement.
I was there for a couple of hours before anything significant happened. Finally, two guards came in with several women who looked like maids. One of the guards started talking to the secretary, "Eduardo wants us to give the dog a bath."
The guards laughed lightly at the joke, but none of the women laughed. But Eduardo? Interesting. That gives me a great starting point to figure out much more about the man who leads this organization.
The guards grabbed me and took me to a bathroom while the maids followed. Their treatment of me didn't improve from the brothel. These guards would kick me around like I was yesterday's trash along the way to the bathroom. I guess it was nicer to be kicked while in a mansion than kicked while in a broken down and dirty building.
Holy cow. Even their bathroom was impressive in this mansion! Two guards stood at the entrance of the door while the maids helped clean me. They definitely weren't taking any risks with me. Even if there were no guards, this would not have been an ideal opportunity to escape. Besides, a free bath? It might sound stupid but... There's no way I'm turning that down! I've felt so disgusting for months. We were allowed to shower only before seeing a "customer." I hadn't really been with a customer in a long time... so you could imagine how I smelled.
It wasn't exactly a sparkling bubble bath, but it was such a nice feeling. I daydreamed that it was a spa vacation somewhere in... anywhere but here.
When the bath was over, reality hit me. The outfit that they had me dress in was a reminder that they still wanted to 'keep me in my place.' A maid brought in an outfit into the bathroom. It was a leopard outfit. What the hell? A guard told me that the boss loved his pet tigers, leopards, and panthers. I was now his pet. I think it was supposed to embarrass me, but honestly, the outfit looked kind of adorable. I would be in a leopard costume with a chain around my neck right outside his office. On the bright side, life could be much worse.
***************************************
The next month was a wild ride. I had the opportunity to demonstrate my skills with computers, but I certainly didn't show the extent of my capabilities. I showed off some of my basic hacking skills and helped him illegally wire tens of thousands of dollars to help his operation. Of course, he wouldn't be liable if they were caught. I would land in jail if we were ever caught although that would be an interesting newspaper headline. But we wouldn't be caught. At least not yet. I might give them a parting gift when I get out of here. Before I could do that, I was going to exploit these people as much as I could. I needed time to plan, to learn the daily routines, and maximize how much I could exploit this organization, which is why it took me almost two months to make my move.
Along the way, I encountered Eduardo's best and worst sides. He was a rollercoaster of emotions. He would wake up somedays and treat everyone like garbage. On those days, I often received the worst of the treatment both physically and verbally. It could be worse, though. He often slapped me or even hit me with a paddle. There was verbal harassment and derogatory comments almost daily, but there was a lot more verbal abuse on the days where he was also physically abusive. I would take physical abuse over sexual exploitation every time. To be honest, there was still a strong sense from within me that I deserved everything that I received, just like how I felt at the brothel.
Every day, I wore a stupid leopard outfit. Yes, I thought it was adorable at first, but let's see how you feel about wearing the outfit for 55 straight days of wearing it! I don't know how many different outfits they had, but there was a fresh and clean one every day. I shouldn't complain too much. I'd much rather this be my situation than what Candy and Anna were going through. Yes, I still thought about the two of them. It would be risky, but I still planned on trying to save them.
Like I said before, it took about a couple of months to finally devise and follow up on a plan. There wasn't always a consistent routine during the day, but there was a consistent routine at night. I fake slept every night when anyone was nearby, and no one really checked on me in the middle of the night at the brothel. No one really knew that I didn't sleep very much at night.
That was a significant advantage for me. There were guards who stayed awake and worked during the overnight hours. However, they wouldn't check in the room that I stayed in very often. I learned that the room right next to door was Eduardo's bedroom. He stayed there most nights, and he'd often have a higher-class call girl who joined him several times per week. Most of the time, the overnight guards were probably just sitting around and talking. Nothing significant ever happened at night, which was even more perfect to plan my escape.
It didn't take much, but a single mistake was the catalyst for the downfall of the entire organization. What was that single mistake? The secretary one day was adjusting her hair and let a hairpin fall from her head. Although I was locked up at the time, I eventually collected and hid the hairpin. Fortunately, the secretary dropped it less than a week into when I first arrived at the mansion.
I unlocked my chain nearly every night and did as much research as I could. The secretary never shut off her computer, so that actually made it harder. I would have to manually log out of her computer instead of just forcing it to shut down whenever someone was just outside the room. Like I said before, guards rarely came into the room, so I had a lot of time to research information on her computer.
While there were a few holes in what I could find by hacking Eduardo's computers, I learned a lot of helpful information. I figured out the location and address of both the brothel and the airport. I also learned that there were a lot of people on his payroll. It was going to be a tough task to escape from this mansion, travel to the brothel and rescue as many women as I could, and then escape in a stolen airplane. They were going to communicate between locations, so I was not going to have the element of surprise on my side.
I set up my online account to drain his bank accounts all on one day. I likely wasn't going to find all his bank accounts, but I didn't really care to find them either. I was going to have enough money to be set for a while. Additionally, I was going to have "Eduardo" steal money from the Brazilian government. It was a proxy for Eduardo, which could easily be traced back to him and his organization. I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep him alive to let him rot in jail or just outright kill him and have someone else go to jail in his place. I had time to decide, and the opportunity for either option might arise.
The hardest part would be to escape the mansion alive. The moment that I killed anyone I would be shot on sight by any guard who had a gun. I didn't have the opportunity to plan much for the airport or brothel, but I could somewhat plan for what happened in the mansion.
The time was finally right. I had grabbed and hid a knife for use during the night. My plan was to take out each of the guards first. They were awake, alert, and could quickly communicate if they sensed danger. Guards usually travelled in pairs at night and would talk to keep themselves awake, but they would usually take breaks in the kitchen either together or alone. There were a few security cameras which I had hacked to figure out the guards' routines. They didn't exactly follow the same steps every night, but they were somewhat predictable. On the night that I escaped, I disabled the cameras, so there would be no video trace of me.
My first victim was going to be a guard in the kitchen. I would need to take out an easy victim and grab his gun in case I needed it. I wasn't going to use the gun unless I absolutely needed to use it. I couldn't risk waking up the whole mansion.
I had to move quickly. The kitchen wasn't near the room that I usually stayed in. The longer it took me to kill my first victim, the greater the likelihood that someone would check on my room. If that were the case, it would be mission over.
I unlocked the chain from my neck around 3:00 a.m. in the morning. Eduardo stayed up late all the time. That was late enough for him to be asleep but early enough to hopefully be on one of his planes and gone by the late morning.
I snuck through the hallways as quickly as I could. I shouldn't have to worry about any guards passing through the hallway on my way to the kitchen. I reached the door to the kitchen, cracked it open, and peered in to see if anyone was in the kitchen. There were two guards sitting at the table about two and a half meters away. Argh. Of course there were two guards in the kitchen on the night that I was ready to escape. Fortunately, one guard had his back turned to me, and the other guard was turned to the side. If he were paying attention, he could probably see the door opening.
They were playing a card game on the table, making jokes, and laughing. I needed to be quick and time it perfectly. I needed the guard who could see me to be as distracted as possible. I waited several moments for the right opportunity. The door was already open, so it wouldn't make any noise when I entered the room.
Finally, I found my opportunity. One of the guards stood up and went over to the refrigerator. Right as he bent over to grab something from the refrigerator, I made my move. I snuck in behind the other guard, quickly climbed up his back while he sat down, and slashed his throat. While still in the same motion, I jumped off him and started running to the other guard. By this time, he had heard some commotion and looked up to see what happened. He saw me dashing toward him and realized he had left his gun on the table.
I quickly slashed right at his ankle. He screamed out in pain, but I climbed up his back and slashed his throat. Both guards were now trying to reach for their radios. The first guard was much closer to making a call to someone, so I went back to him. I quickly kicked the radio out of his hand and stabbed him in the other side of his neck. I went back to the first guard who was now on the ground and did the same thing.
I grabbed a gun and waited a few moments to see if anyone was alerted of the noise from killing these two guards. No one came, so I left the kitchen.
The next set of guards would be on the third floor. I went upstairs and found them lounging in a living room. They were both facing me, so it was going to be difficult killing them without making noise. So, I decided to scrap that idea and make a diversion. I knocked a small statue in the hallway over to draw them out of the living room. Once again, I would have to quickly act. They would be on alert. However, if they came with their guns drawn, I would be screwed. I would have no choice but to use my gun. Eduardo would be awoken, and my plan could be foiled.
"What was that?" one guard asked.
"I don't know. Check it out," the other guard said.
Only one guard came. I hid behind a corner slightly down the hallways from the living room. I could hear the guard's footsteps as he moved closer.
"It's just a stupid statue," he said when he saw what had happened. He put the statue back in place. The moment he turned around, I jumped from the table where the statue was to his back and slashed his throat. I had my gun out in case the other guard came running.
"What are you doing?" he asked, not realizing his partner was struggling to survive. His partner tried grasping for breath, and the other guard finally realized what was going on. I hid in the corner right on the other side of the living room as the first guard dropped onto the floor. The second guard came running with his gun drawn. I stabbed him in the calf muscle when he was passing me. He also cried out in pain, and I quickly stabbed his other calf muscle. This made him fall to his knees, and I knocked his gun out of his hand on his way down. I quickly ended both guards' suffering. By this point, there was a lot of blood on me. I wish I had a change of clothes, but I don't have time for that right now. I had to quickly move.
The last set of guards should be near the front door. They would be more lethal to fight since they had automatic weapons at the front entrance. I went back downstairs. There should be two guards on the inside of the mansion and three more guards outside of the mansion. Two would be at the edge of the driveway and one would be at the door.
There was a set of stairs right in front of the entrance. I planned on doing the same routine for these guards. I lured the first with a noise, hid around a corner, and killed him. This guard had his finger on the trigger of his assault rifle, so I had to quickly put a few of my fingers behind the trigger. He tried to fire several rounds before he did but couldn't.
The second guard didn't come right away. The first guard was far enough away to where the other one couldn't hear him when I killed him. He also didn't make much noise when he fell. He landed against the wall, but it was quiet enough to where he didn't make a ton of noise. I, of course, covered his mouth too and helped prevent him from screaming out.
I grabbed the radio from this guard. I clicked the button to talk several times to alert him. He responded on the radio, "What's going on?" I was watching him from the top of the stairs. He was looking out the window while talking on his radio. "Does anyone copy me?" he repeated.
"Affirmative," a voice said.
"I was beginning to worry," he said.
"Mario? You there?" he asked. When he didn't receive a response, he turned around. He didn't see it coming, but I was right there. I jumped on a table to jump on his shoulder, put my fingers behind the trigger of his gun, and slit his throat. I also tried to minimize the noise he made because there were two guards within a few meters of us although we were separated by a door.
Alright, let's just go kill Eduardo and get out of here. I didn't want to waste any more time. As much as I would love to see Eduardo suffer for all he's done, I didn't have the time and didn't want to take the risk.
I now carried around two pistols and a radio to hear the communication anyone might be trying to make. Carrying around an assault rifle was way too risky. I had done it before at the Russian military complex, but that type of weapon would be too heavy for me to carry around while running. I had limited time this time around.
I went back upstairs and went to Eduardo's room. I was about halfway there when someone said on the radio, "We have a body down. Code red. Code red." Shit! No, no, no, no, no, no, no!!
I now ran as fast as I could without worrying about the noise level. I arrived at Eduardo's room, but it was locked. I actually didn't know where the key was. However, I just picked it with the hairpins that I used earlier. I slowly opened the door with my gun drawn. I looked around and inched my way to his bed. Wait a minute... his window is open. God damn it. He escaped after they went code red. Now what? I needed to find keys to a vehicle and get out of here. Who knows how many guards are on their way?
I climbed out the window and down an escape ladder. Unfortunately, I didn't know where the garage was. There was a camera in the garage based on the security cameras that I previously had seen, but I didn't know how to get to the garage. It was too dark to follow his footsteps, so I had to guess where I should go. It was best to start with the front door, find the driveway and follow it back to the garage. I ran around the house to the front side. I had to be diligent. The original three guards who were in front of the door have likely moved by now, but I'm sure there would still be a guard waiting.
I peered around the corner. I was right the two guards at the front door were gone. They were likely inside the building. There was still a guard at the gated entrance at the end of the driveway. My next aim was to take him out. He'd be the one who controls the gate, so he was the next logical target.
I snuck behind him. He was in a small booth right by the gate at the edge of the driveway. When I was only a few feet away from him, he opened the gate at the end of the driveway. A very nice-looking sports car quickly drove down the driveway and took off down the road. The windows were tinted, but I knew Eduardo was in there. Before the guard could close the gate, I stabbed him in the arm right where his tendon was. He also had an assault rifle, but he couldn't shoot it because he didn't have any control over his fingers. He cried out in pain, but I quickly ended his suffering too. I'm not sure if anyone else could hear him or not. He was very loud, but I think all the other guards were inside the mansion.
I left the gate open and ran into the garage to see if there were any other cars. There was a maiden who must have helped Eduardo escape crying in a corner. I couldn't have had better luck right now. I went over to the maiden, pointed the gun at her, and said, "You're not going to scream. You're going to drive me to where I want to go. If you scream, I will kill you." These might be empty threats. I didn't really want to kill her, but I would kill her if I was forced to. I didn't have time to make my own booster seat like back in Russia. It would also look better if there wasn't a child driving anyway.
I startled her, but she didn't resist. There were keys on the wall of the garage. She grabbed a pair of keys, and I followed her to a car. "Are you going to kill me?" she nervously asked me.
"Shut up and drive, and you won't have anything to worry about it," I snarled at her. I really wanted to just say no, but I couldn't risk losing control on her behavior. "Do you know where Eduardo's brothels are?" I asked as we drove past the gate and left the premises.
She still nervously spoke. "He has... many. I know where some are." She also spoke softly and was still slightly sobbing while speaking.
"It doesn't matter. I'll tell you where to go," I said. I told her to make sure she didn't draw any attention to her driving and proceeded to tell her how to get to my old brothel. I wondered what was going to await me there. By now, they would have communicated with the rest of the organization, so I had to be prepared for anything.
The rest of the drive was quiet. We finally arrived after what seemed like the longest drive ever. I told the maid park several blocks away while I would infiltrate the facility. I took the keys away from her, so she wouldn't drive off. "You don't have to follow me. There's a good chance that if you do, you'd be shot and killed anyway. You can escape from here if you'd like. I don't know what's going to be out there for you if you do, but I'm going to rescue these girls that are here at this brothel."
The girl seemed surprised by what I said. "You... you're going to rescue them?"
"Yes. I stayed here, was frequently drugged, and watched a few friends suffer at the hands of the men who ran this brothel and who were... customers. I'm shutting it down and killing any guard who wishes to stop me. Again, you don't have to be a part of this," I said getting straight to the point. I didn't have time to explain everything in great detail.
"Okay. I'll wait here for you then... Are you sure you're going to be okay? There are a lot of guards here," she said now concerned about me.
"I should be fine. If I don't make it back within thirty minutes, you should drive off. Ditch the car because they'll know it's their car. Start a new life far away from here," I said starting to look away from her.
"What... err... where do you plan on going?" she asked.
"I'm sorry, but I can't answer too many questions. I'll answer more questions later if you're still here," I said. Then I exited the car and started running toward the back of the building with my two pistols.
As I approached the building, the guards were certainly on high alert. They were constantly monitoring what was going on around them. There were guards on each side of the building too, but it was still mostly dark. However, with each minute that passed, we were closer and closer to daylight.
I waited a few moments for the right opportunity to climb over the fence and then went for it. There were sharp metal points at the top of the fence, which slowed down my climbing time.
When I was at the top of the fence, a guard rounded the corner. I froze my body but reached for my gun. I moved slowly. It was dark out, so it wasn't easy to spot me. However, sudden movements would give away my position. It was inevitable anyway. I slowly moved my hand, aimed, and BANG! He was about six or seven meters away, but I hit him right in the head. He fell to the ground without ever knowing what happened.
Within three seconds, the alarms to the building were going off. I had to be quick about climbing over the fence because I was screwed if I just stayed there. I jumped down a long way and rolled when I hit the ground to avoid getting hurt when my body hit the ground. I rushed straight to the wall.
Several guards came running above me to the dead guard's body. "She's here," one of the guards said. I didn't have a clean shot, and I would need every bullet. I just started moving forward to my next objective. I needed an open window or a way inside the building. It would be easier for me to round corners for cover. I was out in the open right now. I could rely on my quicker reaction times to outshoot these guards, but that meant nothing if I were out in the open against four or five guards.
I turned the corner to where the front of the building was located. There were a couple of guards communicating on radios. In a blitz attack, I rushed them both. Two bullets and two more bodies on the floor. I quickly searched the pockets of one guard for keys or anything useful. I found some keys, but I didn't know what they would open. I couldn't search too long because all the other guards now knew my location.
I went inside and immediately ran up a set of stairs to my right. Just in time too. I could hear several guards behind me close to my former position. I stopped and thought about it for a second. I was going to have to kill all the guards eventually. There's no way I could just walk all the girls out like nothing happened. I turned back around and quickly shot all the guards that were there. There were three guards, so that means I've killed six guards in total. I didn't know how many I would have to kill, though. There will likely be more drive up as well. I turned back to the set of stairs.
My first goal was to find and check on Candy and Anna. I encountered two guards along the way, but I quickly disposed of them. It's so much easier to take these guys out when you have a gun. I've been fantasizing about this day for such a long time.
I finally arrived at Candy's room. I wasn't sure if this key was going to work or not. Lucky me! It was a master key! I opened the door, but the room was empty. That's not good.
I started opening random doors to let the women out. Less than half the rooms were taken by anyone. All the women were very scared. Unfortunately, as I was finishing up down at the end of the hallway, my luck ran out.
I had about six girls in total. The entire set of guards had gathered together to hunt me down. They were at the opposite end of the hallway, but they began shooting the instant they saw anyone who wasn't a guard. I was in the front of the pack of women, and the guards were flanking us.
Everyone quickly tried to round the corner. However, every woman but one was shot and fell to the ground. We both made it around the corner.
I pointed my gun around the corner without looking and shot several times. I hit a couple of guards, but I wasn't sure if I took them out or not. This was hopeless. I needed an assault rifle. There were too many guards.
"What do we do?" the woman asked.
I thought for a split second, shot a few times down the hallway, and said, "We need to keep going. They're going to reach us or flank us if we're not careful." There was a set of stairs halfway down this hallway. We both ran as fast as we could. I waited at the bottom of the hallway to shoot a couple more guards when they rounded the corner. They're not the most intelligent bunch... I took out two more guards that way.
We all ran up to the third floor as quickly as possible. I was running out of ideas and options, especially since the guards could run faster than all of us. We took a right at the top of the stairs although Anna's room was to the left.
My plan was to slowly pick apart the group of guards while I could. However, the girls with me were a liability. Before any of the guards were upstairs, I directed them in a room that was locked. "Stay here. Don't make a sound. I'll come back for everyone," I quietly said and then closed and locked the door.
I ran to the edge of the balcony just as the guards were arriving up the stairs. I jumped over the balcony while hanging on to the ledge. My whole body was dangling over the edge. Several guards noticed me and started running my way. "Three of you go downstairs!" one guard yelled. Before I jumped down, I shot a couple of times hoping to hit a guard or two. No such luck.
Right afterwards, I jumped down to the second floor. The floor was hard concrete, but there were spots for a soft cushion for landing. It was as disgusting as ever, but you must do what you need to do when your life is on the line. I made a soft landing on two of the bodies that I had freshly killed.
"She's on the second floor!" a guard yelled.
I quickly looked around the corner. Three guards should be coming down the steps based on the one guard's orders. I could hear one guard also climbing over the railing the same way I did. This was going to be tricky.
The three guards appeared one at a time. I shot the first two although they were not clean head shots. The railing guard fell from above right next to me. I don't think he realized I hadn't run away. I shot him first in the stomach and then again in the head. His blood spattered all over my already blood-ridden leopard outfit.
I started taking off down the adjacent hallway along the balcony of the second floor. I checked and had one bullet left for one gun, and my other gun still had four bullets. Great.
I could hear the guards starting to run in different directions now to try to flank me. That could work to my advantage if they poorly timed their flanking moves, of if they figure out how to perfectly time when they jump out at me, I could be screwed. We'll see how it goes.
Because I could hear where they were going, I knew how they were going to flank me. They forced me up the stairs back to the third floor. I didn't know if anyone was still on the third floor or not, but I had to be ready. I made it up the stairs, but no one was still where I jumped off the side of the balcony.
I ran toward the middle of the third floor where I was expecting a guard or two. Sure enough, they were climbing up the stairs when I arrived there. They were not ready for me to pop out and shoot them. Two more guards down at the cost of three bullets.
I grabbed a fresh gun from one of the guards and tossed the gun that was now out of bullets. Every second that passed was valuable and precious. I had to quickly decide where to go next. I know there are several guards trailing me, so if I popped back out on the third floor, I could be ambushed by a big group of them. I wasn't exactly sure how many guards remained, but I know there were several left alive with some that are wounded.
I went back down the stairs to where everyone was heading. I could hear steps on the second floor to my left and right, and I could hear them heading my way on the third floor. I peered out to my left on the second floor first. I could hear two separate foots steps. I paused before going back up the stairs. Two men were up at the top of the stairs with their guns drawn at the two dead bodies. I waited about one half of a second for the guard to put away his gun, and I popped out and shot both guards. The second guard managed to fire once but barely missed me. I picked up the gun and discarded my second original gun.
Okay, so now I believe the only people alive that were moving were on the second floor. All foot movement stopped, though. They were likely closing in on me right around both corners.
A little surprise goes a long way. I stayed at top of the stairs at the second floor and threw one of my guns at an angle down the stairs and waited. A head slowly popped out from the corner with a gun drawn, but he was facing where he thought I was based on his throw. Unfortunately for him, I had the draw on him since he was facing the wrong way. One bullet and one more guard down.
At least one more guard remained. I knew he was downstairs. However, before I could make a move, a bullet came from behind me and hit me directly in the arm. I rolled over down the stairs, but I made sure I didn't scream. Okay, I guess there are two guards.
The guard that was around the corner made a move, which came with excellent timing. However, I had the positional advantage and a quicker trigger. He didn't quite know exactly where I was on the stairs, which was his downfall.
Now, only one guard remained. I was wounded, so I had to be extra careful. I knew this guard was behind me near the stairs, and he knew where I was. I had to disappear to gain the advantage. I went down the stairs and below the stairs where he was supposed to be hiding. I slowly approached the stairs with my gun drawn looking seemingly simultaneously at every corner. I slowly walked up the stairs alert of everything surrounding me.
At the top of the stairs, there was some blood. I didn't kill anyone up here, though. The person who was still alive was one of the guards who I previously wounded. I started following the trail of blood. He had gone to a different set of stairs and down to the second floor. At the top of the stairs, I could see him looking for me around on the second floor.
I didn't waste any time. I didn't have a great angle for a clean headshot, but he was already wounded and won't last much longer anyway. I shot him right in the back of the right shoulder.
He fell and screamed in pain. He rolled over and drew his gun in my direction, but I had already worked my way down the stairs and behind a wall. "Stay away," he yelled as he shot at the wall in my direction.
I could see his leg when I moved a little closer, but I remained hidden from the rest of his body. I shot his leg, and he again screamed in pain. I used that opportunity to pop out and shoot him right in the head. Four bullets for one person. That was inefficient, but it was finally the end. I finally stopped and took a breath.
I gathered my strength for a moment. Then I went from room to room and gathered as many girls as I could. Already one-quarter of the women were dead from a few minutes ago. There was a total of fifteen remaining women. Anna was among the survivors! However, I learned that Candy died over a month ago. Eduardo ordered her dead simply because she was associated with me and didn't trust me. That infuriated me. But there was nothing I could do.
There were a few cars that the girls could take. I told everyone that if they wanted to start a new life somewhere else, they could. They would eventually need to ditch any of this organization's cars. If anyone wanted to follow me, I would be leaving the country in this their private plane if we could manage to acquire it. There wasn't going to be enough room in the plane for everyone, so some girls had to stay back. Some girls volunteered. Most of the other girls wanted to get as far away from this place as possible.
Before we all left, I found the building's office. I grabbed a first aid kit and distributed money among the groups of women. I also had almost every girl grab a gun for their own protection. We all went in different groups. Anna was going travel with me the rest of the way. I think she admired my survival skills and didn't have much of a life to which she could return. She had been homeless since she was little after her parents died in a car accident in France.
There were five of us in the car I went in. It started to stink after a while, but that was my fault. The smell of my dried blood was filling the car. Anna and another girl had helped remove the bullet from my arm and then bandaged me up. I'm glad I didn't get shot anywhere else because I would probably have lost a lot more blood.
After a long ride, we arrived outside the airport where I first landed after being forced into this country several months ago. This was going to be a different type of challenge. I had no clue how many guards were in this private airport. Honestly, there might not even be a plane if they were out collecting more innocent women.
We sat out on the street for a few moments while I thought about our options. I think it would be easier to just use a public airport. It would be a lot of work and much more effort to further risk my life but especially the lives of these women. All for what? to prove a point? I guess the best that could come of it would be to kill Eduardo and hope that the organization dissolves. However, there was no guarantee that Eduardo was even here. I could try to take him out now, but... I think it would be a better decision to fight another day when I'm much more prepared and not risking the lives of ten other people.
"What's wrong?" Anna asked since I wasn't making a move. "What are you thinking about?"
I looked at her with puppy eyes. "It's not worth it. We should just use the public airport. It's a whole lot safer. We have already lost five girls, and I don't want to lose any more of you."
Two of the girls gave a huge sigh of relief. However, one of them asked, "We don't have that kind of money. Where are we going to get it?"
I just gave her a smile and said, "I think I got some of our revenge on little, old Eduardo. I wire transferred over a million Reals from his account to myself." Everyone in the car started laughing and celebrating.
Just as we were cheering and celebrating, the loudest gunshots ever came out way. The girl to my left was shot and killed almost instantly. The maid and girl in the front were also shot but still alive.
Shit. "Stay down!" I yelled. A car drove by us. When it passed, I yelled, "Drive! Drive! Drive! But stay down low."
What now? I wish I would have thought of this plan ten minutes ago instead of trying to figure out what to do. I couldn't believe it.
The maid started to drive off. "Where? Where?" she yelled back.
"In a building or behind... anything! We need cover immediately! I'll take them out when I can. Just survive right now!" I was utterly disappointed in myself for this complete failure. I was responsible for these girls, and I let them all down. I could still save some of them and myself included.
I looked around at the other car of women. Thank goodness they were following us. "Turn here," I said to the maid. She quickly turned into a junk yard. "There's going to be a lot of cover here," I observed. "Your only job is to stay alive and protect yourself. I will handle their car." I believe there was only one car, but you never know how many cars might be on their way.
The enemy vehicle was closely trailing the other car of girls. I could see Eduardo hanging out the window with what looked like an ooze.
"Okay, listen to me," I said. "I'm going to jump out of the car. Do not slow down or stop for anything. Stay mobile. He's after me, so he should stay off your trail. If he doesn't, I will kill him. Do you understand?"
"Yes," the maid barely said. She was crying but powering through the situation.
I touched her on the shoulder. "You're strong enough for this. You can do it."
I moved the dead girl out of my way. God there was so much blood. I pushed her forward, opened the door, and timed my jump as best as I could. I landed with some cover behind a building.
The maid drove off without hesitating. My plan worked! Eduardo's car immediately stopped. "Looks like we're getting some home cooking tonight! Get out boys!" he yelled as he was laughing.
I ran around the building and saw a window. I quickly grabbed the nearest heavy object I could find, smashed the window, and jumped into the building. I knew this was going to be a tough battle.
Indeed, they heard me and tried to capitalize on it. I ducked to the floor behind a table that I knocked over because I immediately knew what they were going to do. Hundreds of ooze rounds poured into the abandoned building as not a single person released their grip from the triggers.
I waited and waited. I was still alive when everything was quiet again. I had my eyes closed, and I could only hear a ringing noise from all the bullets flying. I quickly got to my senses and started moving. Where was the greatest tactical advantage? There was only one entrance unless they wanted to enter the way I entered. I looked up above the door. There was a spot for me to camp above them when they entered. The first guard would not know what hit him, but I wouldn't have a tactical advantage after that.
I quickly climbed up some equipment by the door. I could hear Eduardo taunting me. I was in position when I finally heard him say, "Alright, go in. Assume she's alive until you see her dead body on the floor."
Alright, here we go. A guard kicked the door open. I could already sense him looking around the inside of the building. He slowly walked into the building, while turning his gun in different directions. I shot him twice in the head from above, which cause him to fall straight to the ground without firing a single shot.
Again, I had to move. Bullets rained where I was just sitting. I could afford to be a little louder when escaping because of the noise of the bullets. I counted three separate guns in all the chaos.
Okay, what next? This building was getting ready to collapse. It was made from a lighter metal, and the entire bottom portion was nearly separated from the top on one side of the building due to all the bullets piercing through the wall. It looked like a warzone on the inside as well.
I searched for options. There wasn't much in this room, and I was a sitting duck. What could I do?
I heard a different car in the distance. Crap. I was really hoping that the girls didn't come back for me so soon. I just wished they escaped instead. I heard a couple of gunshots. "What the hell?" Eduardo yelled.
Suddenly, he and the guards started firing in a different direction. I didn't waste a second. I took off toward the broken window. I jumped out while they were still firing.
"Stop! They're no real threat. They're too scared to even show themselves," Eduardo said. I think the girls shot a couple of times at them. Wow! They're my heroes right now.
I went around the corner with my gun drawn. The second that I saw a guard, I shot right at his head, ran, and ducked behind the other side of the building. There was another wave of bullets, but they didn't hold the trigger down for as long.
"F***!" Eduardo yelled. "You little shit! I swear to god I will personally rip your head off your shoulders." He was mad and going to make more mistakes.
"What do we do?" the guard asked.
"This bitch is 8 years old! Shoot her f***ing brains out!" he yelled. I took the opportunity to back up passed the building and position myself around the corner of some junk.
I could hear them whisper, but it didn't matter. I now had the advantage since they were expecting me to be right around the corner. I kept an eye on both corners. My eye was visible, but that was about it. I would be very hard to spot. Eduardo snuck around the left side of the building, and the last remaining guard snuck around on the right side of the building.
"Shit. Did she go back into the building?" the guard said.
"I don't know. Go check!" Eduardo angrily said.
"Damn. Alright," the guard said.
The guard first stuck his hand into the window expecting to be shot. After he wasn't shot, he backed up and started running toward the building.
I saw what he was doing, so I decided to intervene. I quietly came from around the corner. Right before he could jump into the window, I shot him right in the back of the head. His body fell into the side of the building. Before he even realized what happened, I shot Eduardo's hand which was holding his ooze.
"Argghhhh!" he yelled. I ran over to the gun to kick it away from him. However, he reached down with his other hand before I could get there. I shot his other hand. "F***!" he yelled. "You're f***ing shit! You're nothing! You're just a stupid, little girl in a leopard costume! Go to hell!" he yelled. He fell to the ground as he was yelling his profanities at me.
I looked down at him and pointed my gun at his head. "Darling... I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream," I said. I shot him right in the head.
I tossed my gun aside while just staring right at him. Can I just have peace and quiet in my life? I walked around the building and started walking in the direction that the girls were last located. They were right around the corner. When I saw the car, I stood there staring. After a couple of moments, I collapsed to the ground.
I wasn't out for very long, though. I woke up in the back of the car with Anna. I sharply woke up and asked, "Where are we going?"
Anna answered, "We need to go to the hospital. Claudia and Fernanda are both shot."
"No, we cannot go to a local hospital. The police could be involved if they realize we were involved in the shooting that took place. I just killed over a dozen men and stole over a million Real from them. You're all accomplices in these crimes. We need to come up with a different plan."
Anna looked to the passenger who I would have guessed was Claudia rather than Fernanda and looked back at me. "Okay, what do you propose?"
"I'm going to avoid using any hospitals in this country-" I started but was interrupted.
"You're going to do what??" Anna said completely shocked by my response.
I paused for a second. "I'm going to avoid using any hospitals here. I'll be fine. Trust me. We should get you two to a hospital, but they need to be separate hospitals and not local hospitals."
The driver said she was okay with that plan, and Claudia nodded her head too.
"Relax, girls. We're going to have an interesting next week or two," I said as I rested my head against the back of the seat.
***************************************
Over the next week or so, we had an interesting journey across the southeastern side of Brazil. We immediately exited Rio de Janeiro and travelled between Curitiba, So Paulo, Campinas, and Ribeiro Perto. There were nine of us total after we lost one of the girls when we were ambushed by Eduardo. Two girls in the other car were also wounded by Eduardo. Anna, I, and another girl named Pauline helped take all the bullets out of everyone. We eventually had everyone treated at a hospital afterwards, specifically checking for infections. That was their greatest risk of sickness and death moving forward for their injuries. I purchased some over-the-counter antibiotics for all our wounds.
I now had money, so we could afford to live a little luxuriously. We stayed in the safer parts of each city in hotels. We also all bought new clothes. Actually, that was one of the first things we did. We needed to remove all clothing that had the blood of any of the guards. We collected all these clothes and eventually burned them. We also burned the cars. Of course, we did that after purchasing a couple new cars.
All the burning felt like a washing away of our past. Many of these girls had been prostitutes for years. Watching everything burn felt cleansing and freeing. There was a new life waiting for them somewhere out in the world.
I crafted passports for each girl like I had back in Russia. I had much more time this time around, but I also had to create several more than last time.
After all our preparation, we were finally ready to go our separate ways. Most of the girls purchased plane tickets back to France. This brothel was apparently the French girl brothel. Claudia, the maid, stayed in Brazil but did not return to Rio de Janeiro. Anna and another girl named Sylvia wanted to come to the United States. Neither Anna nor Sylvia had any life in Brazil or France anymore. So... why not just stick together?
Anna, Sylvia, and I didn't leave for the United States right away. I had promised to help each girl find their families in France first. Anna and Sylvia had plenty of time. They didn't have families or jobs to which they could return. Everyone else did. Fernanda had already taken off to another part of Brazil. The rest of us had to stick around and wait for a public plane that could take the rest of us. Many planes quickly filled their seats, so we had to wait several weeks to all travel together.
It was a great, though. It was exactly what I needed. Nolan once told me that I needed to learn how to trust people. I finally found a few people that I could trust. It was an odd journey how I came to know and trust them, but in the end, I guess it doesn't matter. I don't think many people need to be kidnapped, moved to another country, and used in sex trafficking to develop trust in other people. But how I achieved this feat wasn't as important as achieving it. That part of my life was over. I hope.
