Y/N P.O.V
"I know that you did say you were going to drag me with you, but I didn't think you meant literally!" I puffed out my cheeks. King and Elaine sat at the front of the cart while Escanor held the reins for the horses while Ban sat on the side.
Meanwhile, I sat at the very back, tied up and along for the ride. "What else did you expect us to do? We need to bring you along with us and you're being a total pain in the behind," Ban sighed. "This is so annoyinggg!!" I groaned.
"Escanor, how much longer 'til we get there?" Ban asked with a sigh. "About fifteen minutes," he answered quietly. "Y/N, do you really not remember us at all?" King asked again, in disbelief. "I don't," I spat back. "You all took my memories away from me," I mumbled softly.
No one spoke after that. The painful silence was all there was. All of a sudden, I felt a tear run down my cheek. I bit my lip and sighed. "You all seem so familiar that it's painful, but at the same time- Zeldris does too," I mumbled.
Ban put his hand on my head and ruffled by hair with a small smile. "Don't spend too much time thinking about it, N/N. You're confused right now and that's okay. Even if you decide to call us enemies; we'll still be by your side to help ya'!"
I looked at the ground and grumbled. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever," I sighed. I was afraid to admit it, but I was thankful. I was told that they were enemies, but they were all so kind and familiar. Meanwhile; Zeldris, Gloxinia, and Drole were kind as well.
But there was this voice in the back of my head that made me want to scream. Hurt them. It always whispered. Kill them. It made me re-think everything. It made me desire for blood and I couldn't stop it.
Unconsciously, my eyes drifted to the markings on my arm. It was all because of my curse and I knew that, but I can't help but feel like I'm loosing myself slowly, loosing my sanity. If I wasn't careful, I may end up taking their lives.
.............
The maze was soon in sight. As soon as we entered the walls split and in thd blink of an eye, everyone was scattered. "Darn it, this is troublesome," I looked around to see Ban rubbing the back of his neck.
"Looks like its you and me, N/N," he smiled. He grabbed a small part of the rope securing my arms to guide me as we traveled. I didn't say anything to it. At this point, I felt numb. I had no idea what to do. I was overwhelmed by everyone. What was right? What was wrong?
"Wow! Even the palace chefs would be impressed! I'll have to bring this mystery chef back home," Arthur exclaimed. While I was lost in thought, Ban had messed with Arthur and Meliodas' food.
"No way! I'll be hiring them in the Boar Hat!" Meliodas argued. I stood beside Ban with a deadpan expression. "Well- I guess I could go back to the Boar Hat-" Ban mumbled.
Meliodas glanced over and smiled brightly. "Ban!" "Captain!" They both smiled and greeted eachother in their normal, rambunctious way. They had an arm wrestle which resulted in Ban winning.
"Remember Cap'n, it's all in speed and explosive force!" He beamed. Suddenly, Meliodas's voice became stern. "Tell me Ban, did you come here to get your wish granted?"
"Not at all. In fact, I just came to help Escanor with an alcohol delivery," Ban explained. Mel's eyes widened. "You were with Escanor? Is he here?" He asked. Ban nodded. "Yeah, Elaine and Y/N are here with me too," Ban glanced over at me and gave a sad smile.
Meliodas looked in my direction and his eyes widened. "I know that you must be pretty shocked. I have a hard time wrapping my head around this as well," Ban finally spoke again. "Don't you have any questions?"
"Nope!" Meliodad playfully hit Ban's chest. "You were reunited with the woman you love, right? I'm happy for you. Why don't we just leave it at that," Mel smiled before walking over to me.
"I can't! I tried to kill you," Ban yelled. Meliodas didn't say much. "I guess now we just have to go and find everyone else," Mel smiled. "Sorry..." Ban mumbled quietly. "Come on best bud! That's all in the past. Let's go and find everyone else, for the sake of those we love!"
"I tried to jog her memory, but I had no luck. Although, earlier she was drunk enough to the point where she remembered all of us," Ban explained. Meliodas nodded. "I see,"
"You mentioned before that you had a friend that could restore my memories-" I abruptly spoke. I looked down at the ground to avoid eye contact. "Would it be possible- if I could speak with him?" I asked.
Meliodas nodded and ruffled my hair, causing me to look up at him. "Of course! I'm glad to see ya', N/N! We'll definitely make sure you can talk with Gowther, but until then-" Meliodas turned to the wall and then looked at Ban. "Ban- come and help me with this," he nodded cracked his knuckles with a smirk. "You got it cap'n!"
They both got in front of the wall and yelled as magical energy flowed around them. The wind furiously whipped around them. My H/C hair blew in the wind. I squeaked softly and ran behind Arthur when the wall broke down.
My eyes sparkled in amazement. These two seemed so happy. They would do anything for the ones they care about. How could Meliodas be as evil as they say he is? He seems so kind and I-
and I had hurt him without hearing his full story.
Should I give them a chance?
We moved forward into the wall to reunite with Elizabeth. Howzer and Gilthunder turned to me and smiled brightly. When I looked away from them, I was immediately engulfed into a hug.
My face was straight in Elizabeth's chest because of my short stature. I looked up at Elizabeth and bit my lip to try and contain my tears. Elizabeth undid the ropes around my hands. I jumped up and wrapped my arms around her neck and cried.
Zeldris had told me about Meliodas and Elizabeth's curse. It pained me to know that she wouldn't remember. I wiped away my tears and turned to Meliodas. "Do not be afraid. I was informed of your situation," I smiled.
"Now thats the Y/N we all now and love!" Ban cheered. Meliodas nodded and ruffled my hair. "Looks like we made it," I turned around to see that Ban and Meliodas had destroyed the whole other wall.
We all made our way into the middle and my eyes widened. "Gloxinia, Drole..." I mumbled in shock. King and Elaine were in shock.
"Now that all the main contestants are here, we ran rid ourselves of the others," Gloxinia raised his hand and the vines around him began to disperse. "Spirit spear Basquias, ninth configuration! Death thorn!"
All other life forms in the maze suddenly vanished. Their magical presence was gone. King flew up and analyzed the situation.
"And now the let the fighting festival begin!" A man came forward and announced that this was to be a two man tag match. "Wait just a minute!" A pink haired male jumped into the maze with a peace sign and a smile. "For Gowther is here!"
"Gowther?" I repeated slowly. "Excuse me, but could you move your foot away from me?" Escanor asked meekly. "Oh? My calculations on where to land must have been a little off,"
Once Escanor had realised his glasses had been broken, he wailed. "Oh no! The glasses I got from miss Merlin! They're broken! Without them-" abruptly, a vine was plunged straight in Escanor's chest. He fell to the ground as blood spilled from the wound.
"Escanor!" Meliodas cried out whilst everyone ran over to him except me. I stood in place with a dazed look. "Gloxinia, you may want to explain the meaning of this before the Sins go on a rampage," I called out. He chuckled softly. "I suppose I should,"
"Spirit Spear Basquias, seventh configuration. Moon rose! Droplet of Life," a flower grew above Escanor. A droplet fell from the flower and onto Escanor's wound and it healed perfectly.
"The whole meaning of this Fighting Festival was to grant someone's wish, much like this," Gloxinia looked down at me and smiled. "Y/N, your wings are still healing. I'll help you," Gloxinia allowed one of his vines to wrap around my waist and bring me up to the podium. "Yo! Hows it been going for you two?" I asked cheerfully.
"Y/N?!" Elizabeth cried out. I looked down at her and gave her a sad smile. "Sorry Elizabeth, but I won't be participating in this battle. Besides, these two would never let me," I chuckled softly.
"Why would we? One, we would be killed if we let you get hurt and two, you're still healing from your fight," Drole explained. "That's too bad. Now, I assume that we're splitting them up into teams?"
Gloxinia nodded as Drole split everyone up into groups. Elizabeth and Elaine were up against two assassins.
"Gloxinia! Elizabeth has nothing to do with this!" Meliodas cried out. I shook my head. "From the moment you all set foot into this maze, you were considered participant's," Gloxinia explained.
"Sorry Meliodas," I looked down at him with a slight glare. "Even Elizabeth is not spared from the cruelties of the world," I mentioned before sitting on Drole's shoulder and looked down at the ground.
No one is spared from cruelties of the world. Not even those with kind hearts.
