Raven's POV:

The carriage ride was uncomfortable, to say the least. The path we were taking wasn't on the main road, and the grounds were slick from the constant rain. This worked to my advantage though, because this meant Damian and the others would have a chance to catch up to me.

I was just praying they would notice my disappearance soon and Damian would reach home. I place my hand over my stomach, trying to stop the morning sickness from coming. It was of little use though because the baby was always having morning sickness.

"Please stop," I said out the window.

"Why?" The man with one eye said.

"Morning sickness," I said weakly.

"This better not be a trick," he halted his horse and the carriage came to a stop. He opened the door and helped me down, and I threw up on the side of the road. "Oh shit," I could see him back away from me in disgust.

"I wasn't lying," I mumbled.

"I see that now," he sighed. "Someone, get her some water and bread." He ordered the people around him. He reached out and handed me something to wipe my mouth on.

"I am sorry," I groan. "I can't really help these things."

"I understand," he sighed. "When my wife was pregnant with our first child she we sick every morning. Right at the crack of dawn without stop."

"Did it get better?" I asked in the hope this would end soon.

"When the baby was born, she no longer got sick," he sighed.

"Oh," I nod. "What happened to your wife and child?"

"They were casualties of war," he said without a hint of remorse. "People thought that by getting to them, they could control me, but when I called their bluff, they became angry and killed them in front of me."

"Heartless," I mumble. "I mean them not you," I clarify.

He chuckles and says, "I have become heartless too I suppose." He sighs and turns to look out at the road ahead. "I guess that is how we got into this little mess in the first place."

"What is your name?" I ask. When he seems confused I explain further. "You never told me your name, and I think it would be rude to call you 'one eye'."

"Wilson. Slade Wilson," he told me.

"Wilson, what are your plans?" I lean against the carriage, taking in the morning air.

"I plan to lure your husband out and kill him. He ruined many of my plans and has cost me a lot of money and my own eye, so I have to kill him," he told me the plan without hesitation. "I will make him suffer for all he has done."

"And you know he will come with his whole family?" I ask him. "He won't come alone and he won't be so easy to lure out. You are more likely to fall into HIS trap."

"I doubt that. The second he hears of your kidnapping, he will not be able to think rationally," he leans on the carriage beside me and pulls out a cigarette. I back away from him, not wanting to inhale the smoke. "I had spies watching him. He wrote you many letters. It is clear he loves you."

"I didn't receive any letters," I shook my head in confusion.

"He didn't send those. He probably thought they were too sappy," he chuckled. "That is why I have no doubt he is going to charge through here and rescue you. And that is when we will lurer him into a trap and kill him."

"And you think I will willingly help you kill my husband?" I raise an eyebrow.

"No, I honestly thought there would be more of a fight from you," he turned to look at me. "But you are quite smart and level-headed. I am sure you are scheming to run away, but because of the baby in your stomach, I can hold you here without much fight."

"I hope you know when my father hears on this, your head will be on a stick," I wave my hand to move to smoke away from me. "Please put that out or move away from me. I am not afraid to barf on your shoes."

He dropped the cigarette to the floor and stomps it out.

"Feeling good to move?" He asked.

"Yes," I nod. "How much further though?"

"Why do you ask?" He questions me.

"I need to know if I should pee now or if I should wait," I smile innocently.

He chuckles and says, "I like you. You should use the bathroom here while we are stopped. We still have a few more hours of travel before we reach camp."

"Alright," I nod. When I start to move, he follows a few steps away. "I hope you don't think I will pee in front of you. I don't let ANYONE watch me when I am doing my business."

"Someone has to make sure you don't run off," he shrugs.

"I am six months pregnant and walk like a penguin. If you can't catch me, that is just sad," I chuckle. "I mean, you saw how fast I was able to walk when we left the castle. If I run away, you will surely be able to catch me."

He hesitated before nodding, "I will stand here. You have exactly six minutes before I come and find you."

"Make it ten," I wave my hand as I walk deeper into the woods.

Once I get behind a tree, I tie a ribbon on a branch on the ground and covered it with wet leaves. A human wouldn't be able to find it, but if they were smart, they would have Titus hunting for my scent. He can find this with ease.

I really did have to pee, so I went to another bush and relieved myself. Once I was finished, I waddled my way back to the clearing. Slade was pacing when I stepped out of the woods, but when I stepped on a tree branch and it broke, his head shot up.

"One minute to spare," he nodded.

"I try," I shrug and go back up to the carriage. He helps me in and we move on our way. I could tell we were heading north by the sun that had now risen in the sky. I was already four hours from home and continuing on.

I was up all night, and I knew this wouldn't be healthy for the baby. No matter how much I disliked the idea, I wasn't by myself anymore. I had to think about the baby. I closed my eyes and willed sleep to fall over me.
