"Now that the gang's all here, I thought we would do some introductions for all of our newcomers. When I call your name step forward and wave." Alpha Marcus said, "First up we have my lovely Luna Alice. Then my new Beta, Max. My son Nolan. Tyler my head warrior. Then we have Alpha Xander of the Howlers Pack, Alpha Chris from the Midnight Pack, and Beta Lucas from the Stardust Pack. Next up we have Wren's mates: Reauwyn, second in command of their team; Brent, one of the top two werewolf fighters they have; and Felix, our very own vampire. And last but certainly not least we have Wren. Wren here is basically in charge of this whole operation. I'm going to open up the floor for questions now. Please do remain respectful."

    I waved feeling incredibly awkward as he made the introductions.

"Yes, I have a question for Wren. Do you really think you're going to be able to train this many people in such a short amount of time and it be enough for us to win?" Called out a voice in the back.

"Yes, I do. However, what I think is irrelevant. What I know is that this is our only shot. We're out of options. If we fail, our species dies." I replied

"Will we see you fight? What about your mates? Can they fight or are they just here for decoration?" Another voice called out.

"Everyone I brought with me can fight; however, with specific regards to my mates, they are the best on the team." I answered.

"So then is he the only vampire on your team? Are there more? How do we know you're not colluding with the enemy?" Another voice tossed out.

    Growls tore out of Brent and Lucas both.

Stepping forward Felix addressed that question, "My what a big word for such a small brain. There are no vampires on this team at all. However, I am the only one of my kind here. Wren is not colluding with anyone. Her loyalties are firmly with your species. As for my loyalties, they are with Wren. I happen to think most of you are not worth saving, but Wren would disagree. Therefore, I am here. If you're above my brand of assistance, then please do provide me with your name and I'll be more than happy to refrain from assisting you in the future should you find you need it."

    Silence fell as Felix stepped back.

"I've heard that Reauwyn has done work as a mercenary for hire." Another voice shouted.

This time Nolan stepped forward, "I didn't hear a question in that so we're going to close our Q&A now. Side note, you can't afford Reauwyn's services."

    With that Nolan spun around grabbing my hand and walking off the stage. Everyone else followed.

"Who the hell were those people?" Lucas seethed.

"They weren't any of my guys that's for damn sure." Reau spit out.

"I don't know who they were, but we're going to ignore the whole ordeal. We aren't going to give them the satisfaction of a reaction." I announce looking everyone in the eyes, "Thank you for the save, Nolan."

"Anytime." he replied.

"Training starts at seven in the morning. Anyone late will run fifty laps extra around the territory. I'll let one of y'all pass along the message. I'm going to go find a real drink and my bed." I declared before heading after that drink.

"That went well." Jason commented.

"Not now Jason. Please. I'm in over my head. I know this." I heaved out on a whisper before dissolving into sobs.

    I felt warm arms wrap around me before being engulfed in Jason's scent. I just leaned in further as I cried harder. Jason whispered comforting words as he stroked my hair. After twenty minutes of sobbing, I finally collected myself and sat back drying my eyes.

"I don't think I've ever seen you cry." Jason said.

"I don't think I've cried since my parents died. Sorry about your shirt by the way." I said gesturing towards his wet shirt.

"Don't worry about it. It'll dry. I'm more worried about you." Jason replied as he gently stroked my cheek with the back of his hand.

    As soon as his fingers touched my cheek, jolts of electricity shot through me. I jumped back in surprise. Jason looked down at his hand in bewilderment.

"How?" I whispered tracing my cheek with my own fingers.

"No fucking clue." Jason murmured, "It shouldn't be possible."

"I set you free Jason. At least I tried to." I said shaking my head.

"What if I don't want to be free anymore Wren?" Jason asked looking me in the eyes.

Getting up I just continued to shake my head, "I can't do this." I blurted out before running towards my room.

~~~~Wham!~~~~
"What did that poor door do to you?" Reauwyn asked as I barreled into our room.
"I... He... It can't be. It's not possible." I sputtered unable to form cohesive sentences.
"Wren you're scaring me what happened?" Brent demanded.
    I collapsed into tears fully unable to speak.
"Reauwyn do something." Brent yelled.
"Like what?" Reauwyn demanded.
"That blood thing y'all do." Brent replied.
"That only works with intention. She has to show me what she wants me to see. She can't even speak right now, so she damn sure can't do that." Reauwyn bit out, "Felix you can do it without intention right?"
"Yes, but not without her consent." Felix replied.
"Wren sweetie, can Felix please help you?" Reau asked, "We need to know what's going on baby girl."
    I nodded numbly between sobs. Felix gently sank his fangs into my neck pulling out all the things I couldn't find words for. Just as gently, he retracted his fangs before scooping me up and getting into bed with me. He never said a word as he stroked my hair and hummed until I fell asleep.
~~~~Reauwyn's POV~~~~

"What the hell happened to her Felix?" I demanded once Wren had fallen asleep.

"It's the bond between her and Jason." Felix replied.

"What bond? She rejected him." Brent spat out.

"Well it's back, and he doesn't want to be rejected again." Felix replied.

"What he wants her to suffer quietly while he cheats? Again?" I snarled.

"I don't think so. It appears that he wanted to work things out." Felix replied.

"You've got to be shitting me!" Brent exclaimed, "What did she say?"

"You know I've never understood why you Americans say that. Anyway back to the subject at hand. She didn't say anything back. She fell apart and ran back here." Felix said.

"Could you tell what she wants to do?" I asked staring over at her.

"No. Her emotions are too all over the place. The whole thing fell apart after he said that he didn't want to be rejected again. She's broken. It's possibly the saddest thing I've ever seen." Felix replied.

"What do you suggest we do?" I asked.

"We support her." Felix replied before closing his eyes signaling the end of the conversation.

    Brent and I joined them shortly after. Tomorrow is a new day. Might as well face it with a good night's rest.
