Jordyn walked up the steps of the hospital, dressed in a tracksuit and flip flops since she bolted out of bed. It was pitch black outside and Jordyn searched aimlessly for the room she had been visiting for a few days. She saw a figure and decided to turn in there. Her grand-dad sat on the chair next to the bed and her grand-mother laid on the bed, holding his hand tightly.
"Jordy" wrinkles formed around her eyes as she smiled up at her grand daughter. Jordyn looked at her, tears forming as she sat down on the edge of the bed.
"how are we feeling?" She sniffled, holding in her tears.
"tired, but happy darling" her grandma still smiled, refusing to frown in front of her loved ones. She had reunited with Jordyn years back when Jordyn found a way to move out of her parents house and took the train all the way to liverpool to meet them again. Jordyn had been stuck i London due to her parents strict rules about seeing her grandparents.
Jordyn nodded her head, looking the other way.
"Don't be sad Jordyn, i've lived long enough. I'll always watch over you" She gave a weak smile this time, her heart ached for her granddaughter.
Jordyn nodded her head. Her grandpa placed a gentle kiss on the top of his wife's head, she held onto his hand even more tightly, closing her eyes and savouring the moment.
After half an hour, Jordyn as sat outside, her head resting in her hands as she sobbed uncontrollably at the fact hat she had passed away. Her grand-dad was still in the room but came out after a moment, he had blood-shot eyes and sat down next to her. They leaned on each other for support and physically felt emptiness in their hearts. But suddenly a few days later, Jordyn was sat on the couch, making room for where her grandma used to sit, her granddad watched the tv with tired eyes. they had gotten into an argument over something she couldn't remember and they had given each other the silent treatment ever since, she had to get her genes from somewhere, right?
"I'm going home" Jordyn mumbled.
Her grandfather didn't bother to utter a few words, he only nodded his head, barely looking at her.
So Jordyn pursed her lips and she walked home, it took her about fifteen minutes to walk to the bus station and it took another thirty minutes to walk to her apartment from the station in Manchester.
The rain was only a bonus.
That was about the last few times she saw her grandad, let alone talk to him.
