"Are you at least okay..?"
—: *✧・゚:*:・゚✧*:—
~The girl sat beside Kugisaki's bed as she waited for her to wake up. It had been about 30 minutes since they got back to the school and to her room.
Y/N had been sitting there, waiting for a possible text from Fushiguro or Itadori letting her know that they were both okay.
Kugisaki began to move around and eventually opened her eyes, "Ah, L/N! I'm so glad it's you. Had it been Fushiguro or Itadori, I might've just let death take me."
The girl lightly laughed at her joke as Kugisaki held her hand.
"Where are those idiots anyways?" She asked.
Y/N wasn't surprised to hear insults from Kugisaki, even after getting an injury, "Fushiguro had wanted to wait for Yuuji. I wanted to stay with him but he said I was better off here with you."
"I see. Well, I guess all we can do is sit here and wait for those slow pokes. More importantly, you and Fushiguro have gotten pretty close havent you?" Kugisaki smirked at the girl sitting beside her and noticed a faint blush appear on her cheeks.
"It's not like that. I'm just trying to get along with all of you so there's no problems. With Fushiguro, it's different. He's bottled up even if he opens up to you." She sighed.
"I guess. Well, I'm gonna take another nap. Feel free to wait here for the boys or leave. I don't care." She turned to her side and quickly fell asleep.
Y/N laughed at the girl beside her. Then, she heard footsteps going down the hall. When she looked out of Kugisaki's room, she saw Fushiguro opening the door to his room and heard it close as he walked in.
She quickly got up and quickly walked out and closed the door, careful not to wake up the sleepy girl inside. She quickly walked down to Fushiguro's room and knocked.
"Come in." He called form inside
When he saw her poke her head inside, he froze and his face fell. How could he tell her? How could he possibly tell her about the events that just happened?
"Fushiguro! I'm so glad you're alright! Did you get hurt anymore?" She asked as she walked up to him and sat down next to him on his bed.
She noticed he had more cuts and bruises than he did when she left him, "What happened?! Wheres Yuuji?"
Fushiguro bit his lip, trying not to break out in tears.
"I'm gonna go check on him and then I'll be back and help you with your cuts okay?"
She got up but before she could walk away, he grabbed her wrist. She looked at him in confusion until she saw his facial expression, "Fushiguro..."
"I'm so sorry L/N... I couldn't...." He stopped talking but the girl finally understood the situation.
Her color went pale as she slowly fell to her hands and knees and stared at the floor. Although she made no noise, tears were falling down her face non-stop. Fushiguro stared at her and saw the pool of tears on his floor.
He grabbed her cheeks and lifted her face. There was a mix of shock, sadness and disbelief spread across her face. He looked down, still holding her face.
"Are you at least okay..?" He heard her softly say.
When he looked back at her, she was still crying but she genuinely seemed worried for him. He only nodded. She closed her eyes and stood up, "I'm gonna go get the first aid kit. I'll be back."
Fushiguro sat there in silence. When the broken girl came back, she said nothing, tears still falling. She knelt down in front of Fushiguro and mended his wounds. The only noise that could be heard were her soft sniffles.
Little did she know that just a few stories below her, in the basement, her best friend was desperately trying to get out of Gojo's grasp to get to her and let her know he was alive.
"Sensei! Please! I have to go see Y/N! I have to show her I'm alright!" He cried.
"We can't let you go! It'll ruin what I have planned for you!"

The next morning, Fushiguro woke up to talking. He opened his door and saw Gojo standing in front of Itadori and Y/N's room as the girl was standing there with him.
"I'm sorry if this causes any trouble, but is it okay if I just stay in this room? I don't think there's a need to build a new room at my expense since Yuuji isn't going to be attending anymore." She said in a hushed voice. Fushiguro could hear the complete sadness in her voice.
Gojo softly put a hand on her head, "Dont worry about it. If you change your mind just let me know."
She nodded as she walked back into her room and closed the door. Gojo turned and saw Fushiguro standing there, "You should probably talk to her. Get her to get out of the room and go outside. If she locks herself in there, it won't do any of us any good."
Fushiguro nodded and Gojo walked away. Fushiguro walked up to her room and knocked. As soon as he got the "okay", he walked in and saw her sitting on the corner of her bed, her back against the wall as she hugged her legs.
"Get dressed, we're meeting Kugisaki outside." He simply said.
She looked up at him. He could tell she didn't get any sleep, "You won't leave me alone if I say no will you?" She softly asked.
Fushiguro shook his head. The girl sighed and stood up. Fushiguro stepped out and let her get dressed. About 10 minutes later, she came out; uniform fully on, hair beautifully done and teeth brushed.
They both walked out and saw Kugisaki sitting on the steps. Fushiguro sat on one just a few above her while Y/N had her back against the pillar at the top, facing away from her friends. Then, Fushiguro told them Itadori's last words.
"Live a long life? Doesn't mean much when you go and die yourself. Is this your first time having a partner die?" Kugisaki asked the boy.
"First time for one my age." He replied.
"You seem to be taking it well, considering."
"Same to you."
"Of course. I only knew him for about two weeks. I'm not some simpler woman who breaks down bawling when a guy I barley know dies. Jeez." She responded.
Fushiguro and Y/N both side glanced at Kugisaki. Her lip was quivering. Fushiguro looked up back at Y/N. They only looked at each other for a second before she looked away.
"It's hot, huh?" Fushiguro asked.
"Yeah. Wonder if it's time for summer uniforms. L/N's lucky. She has a shorter skirt than me." Kugisaki said.
Suddenly, foot steps were heard until they stopped, "Whats this? You're looking more glum than usual, Megumi. This a wake or something?"
"Zenin-senpai,"
Y/N turned around a saw a woman with green hair and glasses.
"Don't call me by my last name!" She told Fushiguro.
"Maki! Maki!" Another voice said.
Y/N turned her head more and saw a panda with another boy. She couldn't really make out his features.
"I'm talking here." Maki told the panda
"You actually don't know why they're so down?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Someone really did die yesterday! One of the first year boys!" The panda told her.
"Okaka." The other boy said.
It sounded familiar to Y/N.
"You should've told me sooner! Now I look like some heartless, cold-blooded demon!" Maki yelled as she pointed at him.
"That's exactly how you came off." The panda replied.
"Tuna and mayo."
She started yelling at them and Kugisaki turned to Fushiguro, "Who are those guys?"
"Our second year upperclassman." Fushiguro informed her.
He began to explain their names and all of their traits.
'Inumaki? sounds familiar." Y/N thought.
"Man, sorry about this. And when you're in mourning... Please forgive us for that." Panda told the three first years, "The truth is, we'd like you to participate in the Kyoto sister school exchange event."
The girl spaced out as the others were talking and explaining what happens at this event. Inumaki turned his gaze to her and realized who she was. He tugged on panda and pointed towards her, "Tuna Tuna"
They all turned they gaze towards the girl who was singling herself out from the rest of them.
"Hey, you."
Y/N turned around and Inumaki gave Panda a thumbs up. Her eyes widened, "So it is you Toge."
He nodded as the girl walked up to him. They stared at each other for a second before he embraced her. He knew she was the closest to Itadori.
"How do you know Inumaki-senpai?" Fushiguro asked the girl who had been quiet this whole time.
"I've known him since before I knew Yuuji. Our clans were very close. Besides, we're both speech cursed." She explained.
Even if she was reunited with a longtime friend, the girl couldn't bring herself to smile. At least, not until she had her best friend back with her.
Inumaki put a hand on her head as he ruffled her hair. She swatted his hand away before hugging him again.
"By the way, we're all in for the event," Kugisaki said, "But if I decide this training and exchange event is pointless, I'm quitting instantly."
"Same here. Y/N too." Fushiguro added and motioned for the girl to go to his side.
She quickly let go of Inumaki and rushed to Fushiguro's side.
"We're going to get stronger. For Itadori." He whispered to her.
Her eyes widened before the closed them and nodded. She wasn't going to let her best friends death go to waste.
I sped up Itadori's recovery for story purposes. Thank you for your time😀
