SHAWN POV
Woken by a loud sister with a headache is already a bad day for me. Especially my boyfriend didn't send any text to make my day great. I know he's still angry at me for asking him a nonsense question last night. It's my fault why I feel sad right now. Maybe I was too jealous of their closeness that it leads me thinking Elias like my boyfriend but even though Elias might like him, how could I ask Luca those nonsense question? By asking him those, he thinks I didn't trust him fully.
Unlucky me!
"Kuya! gising na! ang tagal mo namang magising! nakahain na si mama! kuyaaa!"
"Stop yelling princess! I heard you now geez!" I shouted back.
The knock on my door stops, "Oh okay kuya, bumangon kana diyan ha?"
"Yes princess." I answered.
After taking a bath and preparing to go downstairs, I take a peek at my phone. My hopes crushed down when I saw Luca still not contacting me or sending texts.
My instincts made me type down 'Good morning baby', with close eyes I send it to him with a high hope he'll read it immediately and replied.
"Kuya? ang tagal mo naman ayain si kuya Jayce dito sa bahay." bigla ay sambit ni Ada habang kumakain kami.
Nag-angat ako ng ulo tsaka binaba ang kubyertos sa aking pinggan. Huminga muna ako ng malalim bago sinagot ang aking kapatid.
"Princess. Jayce is busy for something so I will try inviting him here. Is that okay with you?"
Ada nodded immediately smiling with those bright eyes, "Basta ba pupunta siya rito kuya, kahit anong oras." Masayang ani niya.
"Okay princess, just continue your meal so you'll grow up fast." I told her.
She pouts. "Ayokong lumaki agad kuya! gusto ko yung ganito.... yung prinsesa mo hihi."
"You know Ad, you're our princess too." Amaury butt in.
"Oo naman kuya!"
Even after eating my breakfast with my family Luca still doesn't send reply to me. I go upstairs and get my backpack and my keys. Amaury want me to drive him at his school so I just nodded as we exit the house.
Pagdating ko sa skul matapos kong idaan si Amaury sa skul niya ay agad bumungad sa akin si Evan.
"Aga mo ngayon ah. " ani niya agad pagkalabas ko sa kotse.
Napailing nalang ako at inikot ang aking paningin bakasakaling makita ko si Luca sa paligid pero nakailang ikot na ako ay wala parin akong makitang nandito na siya. His car isn't here yet, just his friends car.
"Huy! sinong hinahanap mo couz'? para kang tangang naghahanap ng hindi naman kumikilos diyan." sabi nito sa akin.
"Wala," bagsak ang balikat kong sagot.
Napangisi ito bigla sa harapan ko, "Sabihin ko nga sa'kin Shawn, it's been a week since napapansin kong tila ka inlove. So? totoo ba ang sinasabi ni Amaury na may nagugustuhan kana? Are you two together now?"
Hindi ko napigilang paikutin ang aking mga mata sa kanya dahil alam kong talagang magkakampi sila ng kapatid kong lalake pagdating sa buhay pag-ibig ko.
"First, yes I'm inlove Clee. Second Yes. Third, yes we're together now so please stop being nosy."
"Ha? ano ba yung second couz'?"
"Tsk! magbackread ka nga sa utak mo!" sigaw ko rito tsaka iniwan ito doon.
Rinig ko ang malakas nitong halakhak habang nakasunod sa akin.
"Hahaha badtrip ka ata insan? hindi kaya may LQ kayo ng jowa mo? tch! mag-ingat ka sa pag-ibig insan. Maraming bagay kang hindi inaasahang magagawa mo dahil diyan." Evan said still laughing behind me.
Napatigil ako sa narinig sa kanya dahil alam kong totoo iyon. Evan may be a playboy sometimes pero may silbi din pala ang pinsan kong 'to. Inakbayan ako nito nang maabutan ako, ako naman ay panay ang hanap kay Luca sa paligid kahit alam kong hindi ko naman siya makikita.
Naghiwalay kami ni Evan ng landas, papunta na ako sa unang klase ko nang makasalubong ko si Henrick.
"Gandang umaga dude!" bati ko sa kanya.
"Oh Shawn bakit?"
Napalunok ako bago magsalita, "Did you see Luca? dinaanan niyo ba siya sa bahay nila?"
"Ah si Jayce," tumango ako.
"Masanay kana dun, baka nagpalate na naman yun mukhang badtrip eh. Panay ang emote sa groupchat namin hindi naman namin maintindihan." sagot ni Henrick.
"Ganun ba," I can't help sighing heavily. I feel like my heart carrying a heavy thing.
"Oo, bakit mo pala siya hinahanap?" tanong nito habang nakatitig sa mukha ko.
Umiwas ako ng tingin sa kanya at kinalma ang isip ko dahil baka kung ano pa ang maisagot ko sa kanya, "Nothing, I just want to discuss something with him."
"Ahh, siguro mamaya pa yun darating hintayin mo nalang sa classroom dude."
"Okay, thankyou dude."
"No prob!"
Until the class starts, Luca didn't show up. When our first subject ended, I'm still trying to find Luca hoping he came at school.
I walked towards the comfort room before my next class starts before ten minutes. When I opened the door, I saw Luca washing his face. He didn't see me yet so I lock the door because I want to grab this chance to talk to him.
When he heard the door locked, he then turn to me with a shocked face. Sadness. I can see that through his eyes.
"Baby I'm sorry ," I immediately said.
I was about to walked near him when he shook his head. "Stay where you are Aldus. I don't want to talk to you." He said with a calm tone but dangerous. It hurts me.
"Please forgive me Lu," pakiusap ko sa kanya sa mababang boses.
He fixed his hair while looking at the mirror as he then wipe his wet face.
"Baby, sorry na." I said when he didn't talk anymore. Umiling siya, lalabas na sana siya nang humarang ako sa pinto.
"Excuse me," he said with his raised eyebrows.
"I'm at fault baby, can you please forgive me?" I beg. I touch his hand and he let me. I miss touching his soft hands.
He look down on our hands.
Umiwas si Luca nang tingin sa akin, "Sorry kasi hindi ko pinag-isipan ang mga nasabi ko sayo Luca baby."
"I said excuse me." Luca said dangerously. How could he said that despite of this?
"Miss na kita baby," I said with a teary-eyed and broken tone.
"I'm still mad at you so can you please move sideward so I can go out? please, Aldus... give me time."
I nodded feeling a little bit better feeling assured.
"I'm sorry Lu," I said before opening the door for him. Deretso lang siyang lumabas nang hindi tumitingin sa akin. When he's out, I lean on the door as my tears flow down my face.
I really miss him now.
EVAN AND I plan to go in their house to play basketball, I was the one who told him I wanna hangout with him today. Papasok na kami sa kotse ko nang biglang may pumigil sa kamay ko sa pagbukas. Nang tignan ko kung sino ito ay si Dayana na nakangiti sa akin kasama si Scarlett.
"Can we invite you?" she asked.
"Sure!" Evan answered without asking where to, he even wink at Scarlett.
"Where?"
"Secret!" sabay pang sagot ng dalawa sa tanong ko.
"Sure, wala din naman akong gagawin,"
"You said we'll gonna play basketball?" Evan ask.
"So? you don't want to come?"
"Ahehe, syempre pupunta ako couz' ano kaba!"
"So that's it then, just follow us behind sasakay kami kay Derek." Dayana said.
"Okay."
While following Henrick car, Evan were smiling wide while texting with someone. "You're inlove huh?" pabirong tanong ko sa kanya.
Tumaas ang kilay niya at unti-unting pinigilan ang kanyang ngiti. "Maybe?"
"Why?"
"I'm still finding what're these feelings," he answered.
Tumango nalang ako kahit marami akong gustong tanungin sa kanya. He's a playboy kaya naman nakakagulat kung may isang babaeng makakabingwit ng puso niyang kasintayog ng gusali na napakahirap abutin.
It's also surprising that he's being honest with his feelings. Is that how love can do to a person who's inlove?
I stop the car when I saw we're entering familiar subdivision, are we going to my boyfriends house?
"Oh? bakit mo tinigil?" tanong ni Evan.
"You know where we're going?"
He nodded, "Sinabi sa'kin ni Scar, papunta tayo ngayon kina Jayce why?"
Hindi ko maiwasang lumunok dahil paniguradong makikita ko ang mommy ni Luca doon. I hope she's not there.
Pinaandar ko ulit ang kotse at sumunod sa kanila. Halos hindi ako kumurap nang tuluyan na kaming makapasok sa gate at magpark sa garahe. Naunang lumabas sa akin si Evan, tila ako nalang ata ang hinihintay nila kaya naman huminga muna ako ng malalim bago lumabas ng kotse.
"Dalian mo Shawn, nasa lake na daw si Jayce," saad sakin ni Dayana.
"Lake? there's a lake—"
"Anu kaba couz' wag nang madaming tanong basta sumunod kana lang," Evan said. Binatukan ko siya sa sinabi niya.
"Aray naman!"
When we all entered the mansion, all of them are excited except me who's feeling nervous. Darn it!
As I look around, I couldn't help feeling amazed of the mansion. The interiors says it all, how extravagant and classy this mansion.
"I never imagined Jayce lived in this kind of mansion," Scarlett suddenly said.
"What do you mean Scar? ito na nga ang pinakamaganda at pinakamagarang mansion na napasukan ko," sabi ni Evan na panay ang hawak sa kumikislap na disenyo sa living room area.
"Well, I know Jayce is rich but he's always a humble person. So I didn't expect him being this RK y'know." Scar explained.
"I agreed." Evan said.
"Oh! thank God you're all here now." A middle aged woman looking younger than Ms. Ez descended through the stairs.
Siya naba ang mommy ni Luca? Shit! she's really beautiful.
"Jayce is already there so he didn't know I invited you all here, wait a minute... can you please help me get the meat that you will barbecued there?"
"Oh sure tita! oh my god! I'm excited!" Scarlett happily said as she followed behind Luca's mom.
"Here, you can just hold the box dear. I can —"
"No tita, I'll hold this one." Henrick get the large box to her. She smiled sweetly saying 'thankyou dear'. I'm still feeling nervous since she didn't look like she notice me already.
"You're Dayana right?" Tita asked Daya while we're following them through a long hallway.
"Yes po tita," Daya answered shyly.
"By your looks I could tell you're the girl whom Jayce always talk about before." She said smiling widely.
"Naku si Jayce talaga! baka naman kung ano na ang sinasabi niya sayo tita," ngiting ani ni Dayana.
"Nah, my son said you're like a sister to him dear, I'm so happy I finally met you ija."
"Thankyou po sa pag-invite sa'min tita, lalo na't may problema ata si Jayce." Sambit ni Dayana.
"You're right Dy, buong araw kasi badtrip ang ugok." Tawang saad ni Kiano.
"Oo nga po ta, tsaka nung lunchtime namin. Parang may hinahanap siya sa canteen. Ewan ko ba dun, Jayce is being hardheaded again." Derek added of what Kiano just said.
"Pasensyahan niyo na ang anak ko ha, galit pa siguro 'yon sakin. That's the reason why I invited you here today, I hope Jayce will understand me after this."
"Hmm, pero tingin ko may namimiss din ang anak ko. Do you know his boy—"
"I mean, his lover?" Napaatras ako ng tanungin ng mommy ni Luca iyon.
"Huh?!" They asked clueless and look at each other.
"Oh my god! oh my gosh!"
"Damn! it's true?!"
"Oh shit man!
"Oh my Jayce!!!"
Luca's mom chuckled when the rest was just standing there with shocked faces.
"I'll go nag that man, where's the way?" Dayana asked Luca's mom.
"Oh my! I like you ija. Follow me." Kunot ang noo ko nang magsimulang umakyat ang mommy ni Luca sa hagdan.
"I thought po pupunta tayo sa lake?" Scarlett asked flipping her hair. Guess that's her habit.
"Ah! dito kasi ang daanan papunta sa greenhouse nila tita tsaka sa lake nadin."
"Okay!" iyon lang ang sabi ni Scarlett sa sagot ni Derek.
"Jayce Luca!!" Kiano yelled when we descend through the stairs going down. Infront of us is a greenhouse where flowers are blooming and some different plants I can't name and don't recognize.
Sumunod lang ako sa kanila, hinahanap kung nasaan si Luca. Ilang hakbang lang ay namataan ko siya, nakatayo doon at sa akin nakatutok ang kanyang mga mata. Tumakbo ang kanyang mga kaibigan patungo sa kinaroroonan niya. He was just standing there beside the small lake.
"Jayce! tell me! Do you have girlfriend already?" His eyes widen then look at me.
"Bakit hindi mo sinabi sa akin?! gosh!"
"Oo nga pare, napaka secretive mona these days eh!" Sunod namang sabi ni Kiano.
"He won't tell you." Luca's mom said as she arranged the grill.
"Aishh!"
"Anu bayan! magsalita ka Jayce!"
"We're all dying to know who's that person Jayce," Scarlett interrupted
"Don't force me, I just don't want to talk about everything about us." He coldly said.
"Told you." His mom said. She smiled at me when our eyes met and that made my heart beats faster nervously.
"Okay, all is settled but before I leave I want to know your other friends here. Sorry for not talking to you earlier dear, I got too excited because it's a first time that my son's friends gather here."
Luca look at the other side before walking towards his mom.
"Fine, even though I didn't expect him tonight." I heard him say when he pass by infront of me.
I miss his flowery scent.
