Time for practical.
Honestly, that wasn't even half of what kept you up last night. Of all the ways for him to find out. His Memoir quirk shows him a person's memories when they're relevant to him upon physical touch. Now his quirk deemed Junpei's actions relevant to him. He's hellbent on finding him now, he's probably searching as you and Hitoshi entered the front door.
"You okay?" He asked with a worried look. "I saw you awake well into the night."
Of course you had forgotten his bedroom was right across from yours. "I don't-" you rubbed the bridge of your nose. Sibyl looked up at you worriedly as Kuroko walked beside him. "Astor."
"Yeah? What about him?" He asked back as you entered the building.
You choked on your words as you admitted. "He found out what happened." Hitoshi continued to stare trying figure out your discomfort. "With Junpei."
His eyes jolted wide at your words. "Wait how- his Memoir shit." The male snapped his fingers remembering your brother's talent. "Well since you wouldn't let me and Xiao'yuer kill him, you can't exactly stop him now."
You shook your head with a scoff. "Honestly I still don't know why I stopped you two. I'd probably be better off with him dead."
"True but we should discuss this later." Hitoshi said. "We need to focus on our practical today." You nodded slightly as he looked over at you warily. The two of opened your lockers, Hitoshi closing his before walking back to you. "Y/N, you're aware that dad will find out one day right?"
You eyed him silently closing your locker. "I know, but there isn't really a right time to tell him though."
"There never is when you're trying to drop something like this. But at some point he's gonna know." He argued back softly.
Tears burned at your eyes as you nodded softly. Taking a deep breath you responded. "I know that."
Unbeknownst to the both of you, Bakugou stood on the other side of the locker. Quietly hearing your every word. All of it sucked, constantly he's being kept in the dark, but in no position to dig further. Shaking his head the male left the locker area.
~~~~~~~
Chattering among the students were heard as they stood by the bus. Mostly to cover the nerves that plagued the back of their minds. "Hey Bakubro!" Kirishima said waving at the blonde as he approached in his hero costume.
"Shut up Shitty Hair!" Bakugou yelled back.
Kirishima smiled weakly at the expected response, before his eyes shifted to an approaching figure behind him. To the figure he smiled brightly. "Woah! Y/N you look great!"
Raising his eye brow Bakugou looked behind himself, as did your other classmates. Thank goodness he designed a black mask for this hero suit, or else his burning face would be on display for the whole world. With the black mask rolled down to your neck, you walked in a new suit as you adjusted the gloves on your wrists.
"Thanks Baby Shark." You responded with a smile as Hitoshi tugged at his scarf matching his father's.
"So you didn't end up using either one?" Tokoyami asked.
"No, I figured it would be better to wear something more simple without all the capes and extensions." You informed them as you adjusted the twin swords on your back.
"What's the emblem on your chest?" Ochaco asked pointing to the outline in sparkling white.
"That's the Stellaraguel's family crest." Hitoshi explained. "The name means star angel so they have a star being hugged by two angel wings."
"It looks so pretty on you." Hagakure said sliding next to you.
"Thanks."
"Alright everyone here?" Aizawa asked from the door. After a number of affirmative replies everyone filed on the bus as Iida attempted to get everyone inside in an orderly fashion.
You sat quietly behind your father near a window. Hitoshi sat in front in the seat across the walkway. The male looked back at you staring out the window. His eyes then shifted towards Aizawa in his sleeping bag. He's gonna find out one day, once he does I doubt you'll be alive much longer. Fucking asshole.
A body was felt beside you, looking at the window's reflection it was favorite target of teasing. "Hey Puppy." You said turning to him with a smile.
He groaned slightly in return not turning his gaze to you. Bakugou palmed the gauntlets on his arms as he adjusted their placements. You eyed the attachments in interest, the blonde noticed this and finally looked at you. "The fuck are you looking at?" He asked.
"Just curious," you said back with a smile. "do those collect your sweat from your quirk?"
"Yeah it stores that for whenever I want to do a bigger attack." He responded.
"So that you don't injure yourself for a massive attack?" You asked taking one of his arms by the gauntlet to yourself. The action adding red to the male's face. Your fingers traced the groves of the gauntlet examining the make and model. Soon your fingers made its way to the latch on the top. "So you pull on this to release the explosion?"
"Yeah obviously." He responded taking his arm back taking off that gauntlet and handing it to you. "Then there's an additional safety clip to pull that'll release it."
You took it in your arms and your eyes widened at its weight. "Oh wow! This weighs a ton, and you're carrying one on each arm. Give me your arm." Setting the gauntlet in you lap you grabbed his arm gently squeezing at his muscles. Bakugou flinched at your touch as you traced the curves in his arm. "Dear heavenly father you're ripped." You continued stroking his arm, then going to his chest and moving towards his torso.
Bakugou's face burned a bright red before looking away from you taking back his arm and scooting away. "Shut up Twinkle, I work out so I can carry the damn things."
Scoffing a little you shifted closer to him with a sly smile. "You work out reeeaaally well then Puppy." You said seductively tracing your hand up his arm. The blonde gasped sharply at your words, and his eyes jolted wide at your flirt.
"Sh-sh-shut the hell up asshole!" He whispered yelled snatching his gauntlet and facing away from you. Aizawa from the comfort of his sleeping listened to your every word. To your advances he struggled to contain his laughter. Oh this is probably the most hilarious dramatic romance I've ever seen. Just hurry up and be honest. It's getting exhausting watching you two from the front of the class.
~~~~~~~
"What?!" Denki and Mina exclaimed at the sight of their teachers and principal.
"We have to fight the teachers?!" He asked in disbelief.
"Yes." Aizawa responded. "For your practical in groups of 2 or 3 you'll be fighting each member of the staff."
"Your objective is to either handcuff us, or effectively escape the grounds we will be fighting on within 30 minutes." Nezu explained further.
"Of course since we are more experienced we will wear these handicaps that'll hinder our movement a bit." Midnight added pointing towards the braces on her arms and legs.
"Do all of you understand?" Ectoplasm asked.
"Uh, yeah I guess." Hagakure sighed.
"Alright!!" Mic said loudly. "So now let's announce the groups!!"
And so the teams and their opposing teachers were announced. Sato and Kirishima vs. Cementos. Asui and Tokoyami vs. Ectoplasm. Iida and Ojiro vs. Power Loader. Todoroki and Yaoyorozu vs. Eraserhead. Uraraka, Hitoshi, and Aoyama vs. Thirteen. Ashido, Xiao'yuer, Kaminari vs. Nezu. Koda and Jirou vs. Present Mic. Hagakure and Shoji vs. Snipe. Mineta and Sero vs. Midnight.
"Last match of the practical," Aizawa continued. "Y/N, Bakugou, and Midoriya vs. All Might."
"What?!" Izuku exclaimed as Bakugou eyes jolted wide. The three of you looked over to All Might who loomed over you all with a wide smile. A wide twisted smile. You stared the male down before looking away and heaving a sigh. First you were to walk as they led you all into the building to await the beginning of the matches.
Sibyl ran up next to you looking over at your expression. You were calm for some reason. How could one be calm after being told to fight against Japan's strongest hero? Was it confidence? False sense of self empowerment. Or maybe a cover to hide your quaking fear.
Y/N, Sibyl called out your name. are you okay?
You looked over at the huge pro narrowing your eyes, you were able to muster a smile. "I'm just fine. However I'll need a quiet room."
"You really want to use that method?" He asked.
"He most definitely will be my strongest opponent, I'll need to pull out all the stops." You concluded as you headed to a door.
"Y/N!" Turning your head you saw Izuku approaching you.
"What's up BB?" You asked as he caught his breath from running.
"I wanted to discuss a strategy with you, so we would be able to pass." He said slightly frantic as you nodded in return. "First off, how confident are you in your skills?"
"In terms of me against All Might, I could hold my own, however to actually defeat him, probably not. Why do you ask?"
"I ask because you're very self aware of your own and other people's abilities. You only fight when necessary. In addition I honestly don't think it would be best to engage with him in combat."
"You feel it would be better to try and do an escape plan." The male nodded as you pondered his suggestion. "I agree with you there, however Puppy is never gonna agree to that. Although he was just a shaken as you were to find out he was our target, Puppy will try and defeat him."
Izuku gulped at your acknowledgement. It hurt him how he knew how stubborn his childhood friend was. That stubbornness might do him in today, if not endanger all three of you. "I know but, it's our only, if not best course of action."
"I understand BB, for right now just get yourself mentally prepared. Leave him be for now. I need to prepare anyway."
"What are you gonna do?"
"A little family secret, we'll be fine BB." You pet his shoulder once more before leaving into the room. Walking over to the far end of the room you sat against the wall and crossed your legs. Taking your hands you crossed your fingers and closed your eyes. "Morpheus, Ares, Apollo, Athena." You recited silently as Sibyl watched. "Bathala, Mayari, Hanan, Tala." 5 more times you repeated their names before falling silent.
Suddenly you saw yourself in a temple. The floors a gleaming gold with towering white pillars that seemed to touch the sky. Footsteps were heard behind you. Not turning your head you sat there till they touched your shoulders.
"Are you ready, daughter of Silvestor?" Said the voice powerful, yet quiet.
"Yes, Lord Bathala."
~~~~~~~
Izuku walked down the hall to the surveillance area. His mind was unsettled. You were more or less the strongest person he knew, yet you were unsure if you were enough for All Might. Kacchan most likely would not cooperate, that would just make things all the more difficult. His suggestion to escape was smiled upon by you, that was good. But he can't abandon his friend due to his stubborn nature.
"Hey Deku." Ochaco greeted him as he entered the room.
"Hello Ochaco everyone ok?" He asked looking around the room.
"Yeah, a little unsettled and scared out of our minds." Mina said shakily.
"Where's my best friend?" Xiao'yuer asked looking around for you.
"Correction my best friend." Hitoshi interrupted. "But forreal tho, where is she?"
"She went into one of the rooms, said she was gonna prepare for our match." Izuku responded a little curious to your form of preparation.
"In a room?" Hagakure asked as the green male nodded.
"What sort of preparation could she do there?" Tokoyami asked.
"Divine Entitlement." Sibyl said entering the room. "It is a form of meditation passed down in her family. This advanced form of mind manipulation is said to bond them to the God that would most help them in the fight they prepare for."
"So she's speaking to a God right now?" Shoji asked intrigued as the others.
The fox shrugged his shoulders. "Not sure, Y/N's used this technique once before. However I'm not able to access that portion of her memories, so I don't know who it is she speaks to. Nor does any other Wild Guide in her family."
"How come cool stuff only happens to Y/N?" Mina complained.
"Rikido Sato and Eijirou Kirishima report to the sight for the first match." Said a voice in the comm system.
Kirishima let out a shaky breath as Sato cracked his knuckles. "Wish us luck." The red haired male said as he left with his yellow suited partner.
"You got this don't worry." Sero encouraged them as they left.
"Sibyl," Momo started. "how does Divine Entitlement work?"
"Y/N has to recite the names of the gods that influenced her family the most. Which would be Morpheus, Apollo, Athena, Ares, Bathala, Mayari, Hanan, and Tala. Her family is most influenced by Greek, and Filipino Mythology. In a way she basically summons them and whichever one feels they can help her the most will reveal themselves to her. So Y/N puts herself into a sleep like trance."
"That's pretty cool, you think we could do that?" Sero asked.
"You'd have to do alot of ancestral research mainly in mythology. In addition to being in tune with your inner state of mind among other things." Sibyl attempted to explain.
"In other words you'd have to do a shit ton of meditation." Xiao'yuer continued. "A lot of Y/N's technique comes from her complex mind, Divine Entitlement just multiplies it and strengthens her senses."
"Hey look!" Jirou said pointing to the screen as it flashed on.
"Okay kids settle down," said Recovery Girl as she entered the room. "if you would like to prepare a strategy you may do so in the waiting rooms or stay here and watch the matches."
Many of them left the room while others stayed. Izuku, Xiao'yuer, Sibyl, Hitoshi, and Ochaco were left there with them.
"So you kids aren't going to strategize with the others?" Recovery Girl asked.
"Well for me and Ochaco," Hitoshi started as he and the girl shared a tired look.
"There's really no point in us strategizing with Aoyama." Ochaco finished as Izuku and Xiao'yuer nodded their heads agreeing.
"I tried to develop something with Mina and Kaminari but," Xiao'yuer shook his head shoving his hands in his pockets. "I couldn't get anything with those two."
"I already discussed a strategy with Y/N and we were able to get on the same page." Izuku explained. "But with Kacchan, there would be no point in me trying."
Recovery nodded as everyone faced the screen. "Might as well use the fights before yours as reference then. Here Sato and Kirishima are about to start."
The others faced the screen as they watched their matches unfold.
Several minutes had passed, it was now time for Shoto and Momo to go fight Eraserhead. The female entered the room with a worried expression. She started to walk around the room as if searching for something.
"Yao-Momo what's wrong?" Ochaco asked. Momo didn't answer and continued to search.
"What are you looking for?" Xiao'yuer asked.
"A gift I got- There you are!" She exclaimed catching sight of the dagger you gave her in a corner somewhere. Momo quickly picked up the dagger before tucking it away. "Sorry guys gotta go wish me luck!"
"You got this don't worry!" Izuku told her.
~~~~~~~
Don't worry. Yeah that's all Momo Yaoyorozu had to do.
Her fingers tightened around the dagger in its sheath as she met Shoto at the door. The male looked over at her curious to her expression. Worry rang in his chest at her uneasy face.
"Are you alright Yaoyorozu?" He asked her.
Momo looked over at him as her vise grip increased on the dagger. "Yeah, I'll be fine don't worry."
Not entirely convinced Shoto nodded as he turned to lead them to the grounds of their match. As they entered an alarm was set off initiating the beginning of the test.
"Are you nervous?" Shoto asked as they walked through the mock neighborhood.
"A little." Momo responded.
Shoto nodded a little. "Well considering who our opponent is I don't blame you." He continued looking around the area. "I think for right now the outcome of this battle will be decided by who finds the other first. Momo I want you to make something repeatedly, so if he is nearby, the stopping of our quirks will let us know." He started to freeze his hand as Momo started to make nesting dolls. The two continued to walk. "Once we're confident he's near ill create a diversion so that you can make a break for the exit."
Momo nodded as she gulped to herself. I also had a suggestion but, he's better suited for this. "I'll just follow your lead then." She said before looking at the dagger once more then tucking it away. Small clattering was heard as the nesting dolls that fell from her body hit the ground. "You're a lot better at stuff like this anyway."
"It's nothing really." They continued to walk in silence till Shoto's head perked up.
"You stopped making dolls." He said looking over at Momo who gasped at the acknowledgement. Shoto snapped his head around frantic. "Above us!"
The two looked up to see their sensei hanging upside down above them from his scarf.
"Momo run!" Shoto yelled a small amount of ice escaped his feet before it stopped.
"Pitiful." Aizawa whispered under his breath as his scarf dispersed around them.
But I can't just-
"Don't just stay there, run!" He yelled at Momo once more.
She hesitantly stepped away, before going into at full sprint. Shoto turned back around only to dodge narrowly the grasp of his scarf.
Run, that's all I have to do just run. She thought as her chest burned breathing in and out furiously.
Shoto was still narrowly dodging the ropes of Aizawa's scarf. His breaths were labored as he attempted to buy time. Momo needs more time to run, at least till she finds the exit.
As he was thinking Aizawa's band wrapped around him tightly. Shoto struggled only for the grip to get stronger. Aizawa took some of the rope and hung him up by a lamppost.
"You know I could freeze the binds when you leave right?" Shoto said as he dangled above.
The teacher looked up at him blankly before throwing a bunch of caltrops on the ground. In which the male's eyes widened.
"What are you a ninja?" Shoto asked.
"I was just more prepared to defeat you than Stain was." He responded. "That plan you came up with was pathetic. Instead of putting all the pressure on yourself you should've trusted Momo more. She's smart and probably had an idea, it's already bad enough that she's insecure. You need to make sure that when developing a plan you're all on the same page and everyone doesn't feel useless."
Shoto's eye jolted as he looked off ashamed before looking back at Aizawa. "Why are you telling me this? Aren't you supposed to make sure we don't succeed?"
"Before being a hero, I'm a teacher and a father. So it's in my nature." Aizawa finished speaking before leaving the area.
I should've trusted Momo more? He repeated his teacher's words to himself. Of course I should have noticed her hesitation earlier. Dang it, that's no way to treat a crush.
~~~~~~~
The streets were quiet, all that was heard were Momo's feet as she ran down the path. Looking around she saw the red sign in the distance. "There's the exit."
But, I can't just leave Shoto can I? She thought to herself. That's the plan tho, it's not like I could come up with anything better.
In the distance she could hear movement. Aizawa was catching up. Straining her legs she ran faster. As she did she could feel the dagger you gave beat against her leg.
Only when you allow yourself to succeed will you gain the confidence to stand up for yourself. So don't second guess yourself and sell yourself short. Your encouragement suddenly played in her mind at the perfect moment for Aizawa's scarf to wrap around one of her arms.
I can't leave Shoto behind, not after Y/N's belived in me so dearly. Confidently resolved, she grew a cylinder on her arm, releasing her from the teacher's grasp. Making a sharp U turn she ducked into an alleyway and inside one of the houses.
She's going back for Shoto. He thought as he left the area of the entrance and went back towards the sight he hung him.
Shoto stayed hanging on the lamppost till he heard footsteps. Looking up Momo ran towards him and straight to the post where he was tied.
"Sorry for not escaping, but it didn't feel right leaving you behind." She said as she lowered him from the top.
"It's fine, thanks anyway." He responded freezing the binds to break free. "But it's only a matter of time before Sensei finds us."
"I-I know, maybe you could-" She started to panic once more.
"Wait Momo, calm down." Shoto grabbed her shoulders pausing her shaking figure. "It'll be okay, I'm sorry for not asking for your opinion in our plan. So if you have a suggestion I'm ready to listen."
"Anything I come up with won't work if yours didn't." She argued.
"Yes it will," Shoto reassured her. "when it comes to a tactical approach, you're better at making the right decision. I know because I voted for you to be our class president since I felt you were best for the role."
Really? She thought to herself in disbelief. He really believed in me.
"So have you given up?" Eraser asked perched upon a nearby roof.
Three nesting dolls fell out of her stomach as she looked up at Aizawa. "Not likely." With a great thrust she threw the dolls.
Their teacher knocked them away, causing then to open up. Something was inside. A flash grenade?!
The impact caused the bombs to detonate and a flash of light illuminated the street. As their teacher was blinded, Momo and Shoto ran away as quick as their feet could carry them.
"So what's your plan?" Shoto asked.
"Right. Well first off Sensei can't use his Eraser quirk as long because of the USJ incident. So in order for this to work we need to time it perfectly." Momo started.
As Shoto nodded in return as a shadow appeared above them. Aizawa regained his sight and had advanced quickly. Shoto turned around sharply and planted his foot into the ground, and a vast wall of ice shot up to the sky. Eraser halted at the sight, as a small smile crept to his face.
"Okay I bought us some time" Shoto stared. "now your plan?"
He turned to her to see her further opening the space in her chest area of her suit. In which the male snapped his head back around.
"I'm going to make my own version of his scarf for us to tie him up in. In addition I'm going to make a catapult. Once we're in the right position, I can launch it, and then you'll use your flames to heat up the binds so that they can trap him." She finished.
In the distance Aizawa had finally made his way around the wall. He looked down upon the area before catching sight of a moving cloth. There you are.
With a great leap, he jumped off the building he was on, and struck his scarf at the cloth. Aizawa felt the scarf wrap around a body as he yanked it, his eyes widened. It was a mannequin.
Momo threw off the cloth to reveal a catapult. Slightly frantic he jumped back as she reached for the lever. However her hand missed the staff and fell back. Regaining his composure Aizawa lunged forward, Momo ran back as Shoto emerged from an alley and attacked him with ice.
He jumped away onto building, and bounced off towards Shoto. It was as if time slowed for the girl, if it did it was convenient. Momo reached for the dagger and unsheathed the knife. With a great thrust, she threw the dagger towards the lever and it sprung forward, launching the binds.
"Shoto! Use your flames!" She yelled.
As their teacher's eyes turned to the binds, flames sprouted from Shoto's left side. The ropes wrapped around Aizawa warmly in reaction to the heat. Restricted from movement he fell to the ground, and groaned in pain.
Momo sat there breathing heavily in disbelief. She still couldn't believe that it hit the lever, it was purely instinctive. Staring at the knife she thought back to he day before, with her parents at dinner.
~~~~~~~
"Sorry I can't eat, I already ate out with my classmates." Momo apologized to her parents.
"That's alright dear don't worry." Her father smiled at her. "Where did you all eat?"
"One of my classmates works as a chef at a famous restaurant, and decided to treat us to a seafood boil." She responded enthusiastic.
"That sounds nice, maybe we'll meet her someday." He responded.
Momo nodded as her hand reached towards the dagger in the pocket of her gown. The curiosity was eating at her. "Mother," she started.
"Yess dear?"
"You're fluent in Greek right?" Momo asked.
She tilted her head curious at her child, and her father raised an eyebrow. "Yes I am, why?"
Slowly Momo took out the dagger and out of its sheath. "You remember the special guest at the sports festival correct?"
"Y/N Stellaraguel, Silvestor's daughter right?" Her mother asked.
"Yes, she's actually a classmate of mine," Momo walked over mother and handed her the knife. "and today before the written final she gave me this dagger. There's this writing on it, and I think it's Greek, and I was wondering if you could translate it."
She looked at the knife curious and read the inscription intently. Muttering silently her face went blank. "This classmate of yours must care you deeply."
"What do you mean?" Momo asked.
"Let me tell you what it says, 'In times of crisis, this blade of the angels will lift you above the hands of the devil.' This Y/N basically has a prayer on it for you."
"Did she make this for you?" Her father asked.
"No I don't think so." Momo said unsure.
"Well whoever made this knife, made it with the intention of it becoming a guardian for someone." Her mother said handing the knife back.
Momo looked over the letter replaying her mother's translation. And a small smile crept to her face.
~~~~~~~
She took the dagger out the lever and looked at the letters again. Momo smiled at the blade and Shoto watched as he cuffed the teacher. Softly running her finger across the steel, her smile widened as tears stung her eyes.
Thank you Y/N, thank you so much.
Yay! Momo passed and for those of you who didn't use Google Translate now you know what the Greek writing said. Next two chapters will be your fight with All Might. Puppy won't cooperate, let's see how you straight out of meditation will react to this.
