Hyunjin gasped for air. His tiny hands firmly clutched at anything he could hold long as he could float on the water.
Oh how he wanted his legs to step on the solid ground so he could run to his parents and promise them to be a good boy. Anything, he could promise anything long as it meant he could return to his parents and feel their warm embrace again.
Fortunately, his wish came true.
He remembered his mother was bawling her eyes out, gently hit his bum repeatedly while scolding him. His outfit was drenched, so was hers, as she kept hugging him; never once she loosened her hold.
"You're my only treasure, Hyunjin-ah."
He sniffled. "I'm sorry."
Not wanting her son to keep crying, she tickled him, turning the sobs into lovely giggles in a matter of second.
"Now.. thank the hyung who has saved you." She said. Her pointer finger gestured to an older boy with wet clothes behind him.
The boy's expression was stoic, almost unreadable if he must say. But, the worried glint reflected on his eyes apparently said a lot.
Taking a short shaky breath, he said, "Thank you, Min-"
"... hyung! Hyunjin hyung!"
The said male finally wakes up from his dream. He blinks his eyes several times before shifting the gaze to Jeongin who has a frightened look all over his face.
"Is there something urgent?" He instinctively gets up to see his mother. But the woman is still peacefully sleeping on the hospital bed.
"No. You kept squirming in your sleep so I was a little bit scared."
"Ah... I'm sorry, Jeongin-ah."
"It's okay." He reassuringly smiles.
"Well.. I guess I'm going to freshen up and buy us something to eat then. Do you probably crave for certain food?"
"Anything is fine, hyung. Thank you."
"Mm. I'm going now."
It takes about twenty minutes for Hyunjin to walk back to the hospital. A plastic bag contained of four egg drop sandwiches is in hand. He sometimes swings it, humming random melody as he tries to remember where his mother's room is.
Unfortunately, he's too focus on recalling his memories that he doesn't realize someone has been following him.
