Y/N's pov:
You had woken up in your and Emily's bed with a massive headache caused by your current hangover. As you were about to get up you had noticed that you weren't alone in the bed. Emily's arms were wrapped around you tightly from behind and that's when the memories of the night before started flooding back. Shit
You remembered getting drunk and basically forcing yourself onto Emily and then you remember her crying. You were so embarrassed. Of course you had wanted to kiss her but not like that, not while being drunk and not thinking before acting on your emotions.
You carefully removed the brunettes arms from your body and got up and quietly tip toed out of the bedroom praying that she wouldn't wake up any time soon. You walked into the kitchen and grabbed some water and aspirin for your headache and swallowed it. You felt really anxious and stressed out about the whole situation with Emily so you started to clean the apartment to get your mind off of yesterday's events. Cleaning had always helped your anxiety as well as music of course. It was kinda a blessing that you enjoyed cleaning in a way because that meant that you always kept everything very organized but at the same time it drove you crazy when the apartment got too messy.
Emily's pov:
You woke up alone in your bed and felt the anxiety rise in your chest, what if she hated you after yesterday because you didn't stop her or worse what if she had left. You quickly got up and walked out of the bedroom and to your relief you soon found y/n in the kitchen cleaning. You knew that she only cleaned this intensely when she was stressed or anxious which meant she definitely remembered what had happened.
"Emily" she said without turning around. You didn't answer her, scared of how she would react. She finished wiping down the counter and turned around to face you, her eyes met yours.
"Emily I'm so sorry" she said in a low tone. Wait what? She wasn't mad, she was sorry?
"You don't hate me?" You asked sitting down. She shot you confused look.
"Why would I hate you? I was the one who basically forced myself onto you" she said looking down a bit.
"I didn't stop you, I should've stopped you" you replied.
"Emily...I think we both know that neither of us wanted to stop, that's not your fault" she said continuing to clean the kitchen.
"What are we doing?" You asked her wanting to know the answer but at the same time you were scared that she'd still not forgive you.
"I don't know Em...I don't know what we are or what we're doing" she replied turning around to face you again. She was leaning against the counter with her hands on either side of her body. "I wish things could go back to how they were" she sighed.
"I think we both know that can't happen. I think we need to start over if we're going to make this work" you said in a soft tone.
"What do you mean?" She asked in confusion.
"I mean start from the beginning, do it all over again. A first date, a first kiss, just start fresh"
"Okay" she whispered giving you a soft smile.
"Does that mean you give me a chance?" You said trying to not show your excitement.
"don't make me regret it" she answered, you could tell she meant it by her slightly more serious tone.
"Can I hug you?" You asked in a low tone and she walked over to you and nodded slightly. You stood up and wrapped your arms around her, breathing in her warm and familiar scent that always relaxed you. You stayed like that for awhile just holding her in your arms like you've wanted to do for weeks now. You had missed this, you had missed her.
"No kissing though, we're saving that for the date" she giggled pulling away from you.
"Yes ma'am" you chuckled in response. Your eyes scanned through the apartment, shocked at how clean it was. The floors were shiny and all the furniture was dust free as well as the entire kitchen.
"The apartment looks cleaner than a hospital" you joked making her laugh. "My anxiety does come in handy sometimes Prentiss"
It was nice to finally be able to talk to each other without the uncomfortable tension lingering in the air around you. You were so grateful that she decided to give you a chance to prove yourself and you promised yourself you wouldn't make her regret it, you were determined to never let this woman go.
-
It was now later in the day and you had texted Addison, telling her to meet you at a cafe close to your apartment. You knew that in order to win y/n back you had to end things with Addison so that was exactly what you were going to do.
"Hey" the tall read head said awkwardly as she sat down at the table you were already sitting at.
"Hey" you replied giving her a smile. You both ordered coffees to drink while you talked. After a long uncomfortable silence she finally spoke.
"Look Lauren I'm sorry if I ruined anything for you, that was the last thing I wanted to do" she said apologizing for the kiss at the bar.
"It's not only your fault..I should've told you that I had a girlfriend from the very beginning and I should never have gotten involved with you, we made a mistake...well more than one" you sighed. She took a sip of her coffee before setting it back down on the table in front of her and crossing her legs.
"So if I may ask, why didn't you?" She asked carefully. You obviously couldn't tell her about how you faked your death that was really the start of all of this, she didn't even know your real name.
"It's a long story but what matters is that I know I fucked up and I'm trying to make it right again" you said taking a sip of the coffee in front of you.
"And what you're saying is that this is over" she said looking down.
"I'm really sorry Addie" you said feeling really bad about leading her on.
"Do you love her?" She suddenly asked, her eyes meeting yours.
"I do, she's the love of my life" you answered in a low tone. You expected a different reaction than the one she was giving you, instead of crying or getting mad her facial expression softened and she gave you a soft smile.
"You deserve to be happy Lauren, you clearly have something good here with this girl and as your friend I'm telling you to not screw it up" she said making you raise an eyebrow in confusion.
"No yelling? No throwing chairs?" You asked making her laugh.
"No, none of that. I'm happy for you I really am. Of course I'm a bit hurt but I can't blame you for that we did say no strings attached just casual hookups, it's my fault for catching feelings but I'll get over it eventually. I really hope we can still remain friends though but I understand if your girlfriend might not be comfortable with that right now" she said giving you a smile.
"I think we need to take a break from each other just for awhile while I focus on my relationship and you get over whatever feelings you have" you explained and she nodded, understanding where you were coming from.
When it was time to go back home you both said your goodbyes before walking in opposite directions.
-
"I'm home! I hope you didn't miss me too much" you called out as you closed the front door behind you. You bent down to take off your shoes and when you looked up again y/n was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed, smiling softly.
"just a little, don't let it get to your head though" she said making you chuckle. "I wouldn't dream of it"
You walked into the apartment and she followed behind you. "Can't get enough of me?" You joked as you grabbed a glas from the cabinet and filled it with water before drinking it.
She rolled her eyes playfully at your comment.
"Someones in a good mood I see" she giggled. You sat the glass down on the counter and walked over to her, backing her up against the counter behind her. You tried leaning closer to her face but she stopped you. "Uh uh Emily, no kissing, remember?
"And who's dumb idea was that" you groaned making her laugh.
"Yours I'm pretty sure" she said biting her lip to keep another laugh in.
"Fine, but I'm taking you on a date tomorrow night, expect a lot of kisses after" you winked at her making her smile "we'll see how it goes" she teased.

Y/N's pov:
It was now the next day and you were getting ready for the date with Emily. You felt a bit nervous which was weird considering the fact that you had been on countless of dates and you always felt comfortable around her. Maybe it was because you two were starting over, you just wanted the first new memory you made together to be special.
Emily hadn't told you anything about the date she had planned which made picking out an outfit very difficult. You had begged her for any kind of clue about the date but she wouldn't tell you anything.
"Just wear what you feel comfortable in, I'd suggest more casual if you want to feel more comfortable" was all she'd said.
You stared at the few outfits you had laid out on the bed. After staring at the outfits for a good twenty minutes you finally decided on some light washed mom jeans and a sage green corset top with that had tiny flowers embroidered into it, the top made your chest look amazing and you knew Emily would like it and you were in the mood to tease her.
You did some natural looking makeup but decided to do a green eyeliner look to go with your top for fun. You just kept your hair down as it was, not bothering to curl it or put it up. When you were done you walked out of the bedroom and saw Emily leaning against the counter.
"Wow" she said, her eyes traveling down as she bit her lip while looking at your chest.
"Eyes up here Prentiss" you joked making her blush a bit.
"You look beautiful" she complimented you.
"You look beautiful too, you always do" you smiled. You both put on some shoes (you were wearing black high top converse) and then you headed out.
The weather was warm outside despite being later in the day and the sun was still shining.
"You rented us bikes?" You asked raising an eyebrow.
"Well how are we else supposed to get anywhere? My car is back in Virginia silly" she chuckled.
You biked for about thirty minutes until you got to the top of a tall hill that had a view over a bunch of fields filled with flowers in different colors.
"Em..this place is beautiful" you gasped taking in the view. You knew you were technically supposed to call her Lauren but there wasn't one single person in sight so you didn't bother to keep your cover.
"Come on we have to set up the picnics before the sun starts setting!" She said holding the picnic basket she had brought with her and a blanket. You helped her set everything up on the hill and by the time you were done you were both exhausted from the bike ride and from carrying everything.
You both sat down on the blanket and she opened the picnic basket and pulled out sushi, strawberries, cherries, croissants and pink lemonade.
She knew how much you loved your sushi so she would get it for you on special occasions which always made you happy.
"Wow, looks who's sucking up" you giggled making her roll her eyes.
"Well I gotta win you back somehow and I'm guessing the sushi gives me some extra points" she smiled.
"You're right, I do love my sushi" you said returning the smile.
After you had ate some of the food Emily had brought you were both stuffed and you were now laying down on the blanket looking out over the field. The sun was beginning to set now making it look even more magical than it had when you got there.
You were laying with your head on Emily's chest while she played with your hair just like she always did, you loved the feeling of her fingers combing through your hair, it was relaxing.
"So judge, how'd I do?" She asked making you lift your head of her chest and look up at her.
"You did okay" you shrugged watching Emily's facial expression turn into a nervous one.
"I'm playing with you Em, the date was amazing" you giggled making a wave of relief wash over her. She playfully hit your arm "don't scare me like that!"
"I'm sorry but you should have seen your face!" You laughed making her join in eventually.
You both laid back down in the same positions as you were laying in before to watch the rest of the sunset. Emily's hands were back in the hair, gently combing through it with her soft hands. Your head was once again resting on her chest and you eyes were closed trying to savor the moment.
"What are you thinking about?" She suddenly asked you, breaking the comfortable silence.
"Do you miss home?" You asked I'm a low tone. She paused a bit before answering.
"I do, I miss our job and I miss our family back at the bau but I also love it here. It has been kinda nice to get away from all the serial killers for awhile and to spend more time with you like this and not on the jet where we can't be alone" she said making you smile, still keeping your eyes closed.
"I miss everyone too but you're right, Paris is nice, I like it here" you agreed.
-
After the sun had set and it had become dark outside you both decided it was time to head home. After packing up the picnic you got on your bikes.
After you got home you were both exhausted from all the biking you had done and Emily insisted on running you a bath.
"Trying to score more points Prentiss?" You giggled watching her turn on the water.
"No, just trying to do something nice for my girl, I'm pretty sure I scored enough points already" she winked confidently.
"Your girl?" You asked.
"Yes, my girl"
"Who said I was your girl hm?" You teased making her roll her eyes playfully.
"I did, now take off your clothes" she demanded causing you to giggle a bit at how serious her tone had turned in a matter of seconds. You had taken off your clothes and folded them into a pile before Emily helped you into the way too warm water.
"You tryna kill me or something?" You gasped as you sat down making her laugh.
"Oh come on y/n your showers are always boiling and now you can't handle a hot bath?" She joked.
"That's different Em!" You whined.
"Would it help if I tortured myself too?" She asked with a grin on her face.
"Maybe, why don't you find out?" You teased making her start to undress and join you in a matter of seconds.
"Oh god you were right" she gasped as she touched the water.
"Oh come on Emily, can't handle some warm water?" You said mimicking her.
"You were literally just whining about the temperature y/n" she laughed sitting down behind you and pulling you closer to her so you could rest your head against her. She wrapped her arms around your body from behind making you relax against her.
"You okay?" She asked in a soft tone noticing you spaced out for a minute.
"I'm better than okay, I had a really good time today" you replied making her smile. Her hands found yours, interweaving your fingers together.
"Me too, I've missed this" she said lightly squeezing your hands,
You had missed her too, more than you would admit. You still weren't sure how to feel, of course you weren't over what had happened but you could see how hard Emily was trying and that made you feel a bit better about giving her a chance. One thing that you were sure of was that there was no place you'd rather be right now than with her and that was enough for now.
