"Uh, one sec" stiles called out.

Lydia groaned, she walked in. Both Alex and stiles froze in their spots.

"Oh.. yep. I'll give you a sec" Lydia walked back out, closing the door.

Alex breathed, "well, that was nice for all of 10 seconds"

"Yep"

Alex stood up, she grabbed her bra and clipped it back on "I mean, at least it wasn't Scott"

"What's the comparison here?" Stiles asked, throwing his shirt over his head.

"Scott seeing my boobs, Lydia seeing my boobs?" Alex weighed out.

"Yep, definitely better it was Lydia" stiles now agreed,

Alex smiled, pulling up her jeans "don't worry, I'll tell them only good things"

"You're gonna tell them?" Stiles asked, his brows arched.

"You're not gonna tell Scott?"

"I mean.. I just - I feel it's different with girls"

"Well, Lydia's only going to question me all the way home so.."

"True" he nodded.

Stiles walked over to the door, he opened it and welcomed the girls in.

"So, what can we do for you this fine night?" Alex asked, slipping her shoes on.

"Scott's acting weird" Allison began,  "he came into my room when I was showering, acting all weird"

"What?" Alex asked, her brows furrowed

"We were gonna ask if you had seen him, but I'll assume you have not"

"Nope. We have not" Alex shook her head.

"Last time I saw Scott act like that was during the full moon" Allison finished explaining.
"Hold on. What exactly happened with you two?" Stiles asked

"Lydia heard two gunshots coming from the room opposite ours, she said it sounded like a double suicide and the number of deaths in the motel went up by three" she explained

"This place is Crazy" Alex mumbled

Lydia flailed her Arms " crazy is not the word!"

Lydia opened the bed side drawer, she pulled out a bible "Either we need to get out of here right now, or... someone needs to learn how to do an exorcism asap, before the werewolves go crazy and kill us."

"Okay, just hold on, all right" stiles tried to
Calm Lydia "What if it's not just the motel? The number in the office went up by three, right?"

" You mean like three more sacrifices?" Alex asked.

"Yeah but What if this time it's three werewolves?" Lydia cautioned

"Scott, Isaac, and Boyd" Allison listed off

"Maybe we were meant to come here" stiles realized

"Exactly!" Lydia cried "So can we get the hell out of here now? Please"

Her hands still gripped tightly around the Bible, stiles noticed the edges of paper that stuck out from the rest.

"Wait, hang on. Let me see this" stiles took the Bible out of Lydia's hands,

He opened it, pulling out an article.

"What is that?" Alex asked, walking closer as she investigated.

"28year-old man hangs himself at the infamous Glen Capri." Stiles read

Stiles turned the Bible upside down and shook out 3 more articles.

Lydia pointed, "Oh, no. Look at these two. They both mention the room 217, These are probably all the suicides that happened in this room"

"So if every room has a Bible..." Allison asked

"There could be articles in all the rooms" Lydia finished Allison's sentence

"That's a beautiful thing. Most places leave a mint under the pillow. This one leaves a record of all the horrible deaths that occurred" Stiles remarked sarcastically

"Of all the places we could've stayed coach picked the suicide bed & breakfast?" Alex remarked

"What if the room next door has the one about the couple?" Lydia asked.

Stiles dropped the bible and bolted out of the room, Alex rolled her eyes and followed behind them.

She was wrong to think tonight would be any different.

Stiles pulled on the handle, it didn't budge.

"No, that was not locked before" Lydia shook her head.

"Forget it." Allison shook "We need to get Scott, Isaac, and Boyd out of here."

The four of them turned to find their friends, Allison stopped as she heard the distance buzz from the locked room.

Alex turned around, "is that a-..

"handsaw" Allison finished,

"Handsaw!" Stiles exclaimed.

Stiles jiggled the handle, hitting his shoulder against the door.

"Move" Alex warned, she rolled her shoulders back. With one powerful kick, the door opened.

Stiles would have commented on how attractive that was, but as the door flew open their eyes landed on Ethan, about to tear into his stomach with the chain saw.

"Ethan no!" Lydia called out.

Stiles ran the disoriented twin who supposed to have been in his room and grabbed the handsaw from him. The machine, which was still humming uncomfortably near to their skin, was being pulled between them. Stiles was able to pull the  saw from his grasp, causing it to fall to the ground.

Lydia found the cord, pulling it out of the wall.

Stiles stumbled forward, barely catching himself his face was inches away from the dying blade.

Alex landed next him, pulling him back from the machine. She could feel his heart pounding under her hand.

Ethan sprouted his claws, stiles and Alex stood up quickly; taking to each side of the alpha. Pulling his arms away.

Ethan flailed his arms, pushing them both away. He fell forward, his skin burning on the dim light.

Whatever happened, it seemed to pull the alpha from his trance.

"what the hell happened?" He asked

Alex exhaled "My boyfriend just saved your life"

The four were hoping that Ethan would show mercy and offer help after a brief and of what happened, adding they had just saved his life, but instead he made things more difficult by leaving without saying a single word of appreciation or offering any helpful advice.

Instead, he stormed off.

"Ethen" stiles went after him,

"Didn't you hear what I just said? I don't know how I got there or what I was doing" Ethan argued

Stiles huffed, "Okay, you could be a little bit more helpful, you know? We did just save your life."

"And you probably shouldn't have" Ethan threw it back in their faces, storming into his room.

The four teenagers were stunned silent. The alpha didn't really seem to care about his suicide attempt, or maybe he didn't want to.

"What now?" Lydia asked, breaking the silence.

"Alex and I will find Scott,You guys grab Isaac and Boyd. The best thing we can do is get them out of this place" Allison directed

"okay" stiles nodded,

Allison took Alex's hand, leading her up the concrete staircase. They could only search the rooms that didn't require a key, which wasn't a lot.

They started with their room, scanning it for Scott but he wasn't there. Next was his room, which they hoped wouldn't be empty.

Unfortunately, it seemed to be that way.

"How far could he have gone" Alex asked, her arms flailing.

"I really hope not too far" Allison sighed, running her hands through her hair.

"One night, I just want one night of no supernatural" Alex protested

"You mean be a normal teenager" Allison gasped

"No supernatural" Alex mocked her fathers words. Walking into the bathroom.

"Stupid rule jinxed us. You know, I don't even know why he bothered. We are obviously cursed"

Alex whipped back the shower curtain, as if he would have been behind it.

She walked out, Allison stared at her looking concerned.

"What is up with you tonight? Did something happen with stiles?"

"No, everything went perfect. We had sex, stiles can stop freaking out now."

"So what's the problem? And don't say nothing because I know it's something"

Alex groaned, she landed on the bed "dad won't speak to me, not like he used to. He says good morning, good night but he never actually talks to me."

"What do you mean?"

Alex stood up again, pacing "ever since we came back he's constantly checking on you, making sure you're okay.. but he barely says a word to me. It's like he's scared of me or angry at me"

"Alex he would never be scared of you" Allison said, softly.

"I just want him to ask how I am for once" alex admitted, "I can feel history repeating itself and it's sickening"

"Okay" Allison held onto alex, stopping her mid pace "I promise history it not repeating itself, and you need to talk to dad because the last time you didn't you ended up with an unfair amount of guilt and I don't want that for you."

""I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier" alex apologised,

"I don't care if you don't tell me the second you feel it, I just wanna know that no matter what. When you are ready, you know you can tell me"

"Of course" alex nodded, squeezing Alison's hand.

"Good because no matter what happens, you will always have me"

"Okay, come on. We aren't gonna find him here, we need to find Lydia and stiles" Alex said, pulling Allison along.

The sisters left the room, bumping into stiles and Lydia.

"Where's Scott? He's the next sacrifice" stiles scrambled, his voice oozed with anxiety

"We can't find Scott anywhere" Allison worried, following stiles down the steps.

"Wait, the next sacrifice?" Alex asked, her eyes wide.

Lydia nodded quickly, "Yes. We need a flare"

"There's another the bus. I'll get it"

The four of them turned the corner, freezing in their spots.

There, Scott McCall stood feet away from the bus. Dripping wet, despite the dry weather. Holding an ignited flare in his hand. He barely moved, he was peaceful still.

"It's gas" Alex mumbled, the scent burning her nose.

"One drop and.." Lydia drifted, not baring to say the next words.

They shuffled forward, making sure not to startle the wolf. Fanning out around him.

"There's no hope" Scott croaked

Allison mustered a soft smile, "What do you mean, Scott? There's always hope"

"Not for me. Not for Derek"

Allison shook her head, "Derek wasn't your fault. You know Derek wasn't your fault"

"Every time I try to fight back, it just gets worse. People keep getting hurt. People keep getting killed"

Alex blinked back threatening tears, suddenly it became painfully aware just how much responsibility Scott was forced to bare.

How she wished she could heal this wound.

"Scott, so many more people would have gotten hurt if not for you" alex spoke, her voice shaking.

"Scott, listen to me, okay?" Stiles took a step forward, "This isn't you, all right? This is someone inside your head telling you to do this. Okay?"

Stiles could feel his stomach knotting with anxiety, one of his closest friends was ready to take his own life. Scott McCall was bared with so much, too much.

What made it worse, whatever was happening was only bringing out the wolves most heaviest guilts and fears.

Boyd and his friend.
Isaac and his father.
Scott and his.. his life.

Scott had more than likely felt all these things at one point or another, and no one even noticed

Scott took in staggered breaths, shaking "what if it isn't? What if it is just me? What if doing this is actually the best thing that I could do for everyone else?"

"No Scott" Alex shook her head, she wanted to join stiles but Allison's hand was gripped around hers.

"Scott, suicide.. it's only temporary okay. But it's permanent for everyone else, please. Please don't this" Alex begged,

Maybe she hadn't healed from her mothers death, not as much as she deluded herself to believe.

"It all started that night... the night I got bitten. You remember the way it was before that? You and me, we were... we were... we were nothing. We weren't popular. We weren't good at lacrosse. We weren't important. We were no one."

Scott's body trembled, tears now mixed with the gas that dropped down his face.

"Maybe I should just be no one again. No one at all"

"Scott, just listen to me, okay. You're not no one. Okay?"  Stiles voice broke, he inched closer

"You're someone, you're... Scott, you're my best friend. Okay? And I need you. Scott, you're my brother. All right, so..."

Stiles stepped into the puddle, tears dripping from his eyes.

Alex lost her breath, Allison held her tightly. Certain if she let go, Alex would tackle them both.

Alex now trembling, croaked only a word "stiles..."

Stiles ignored the innocences of Alex's pleading voice. Afraid he would turn back if he listened.

"so if you're gonna do this, then... I think you're just gonna have to take me with you. All right?"

Stiles' hand grabbed the flare and wrapped Scott's as they both stood in the middle of the gas puddle. The flare gradually switched hands until Stiles was able to completely grip it and fling it away from them.

A Gush of wind blew through the air and the flare that was still lit was blown towards the gas.

"Stiles!" Alex yelled, pulling herself from her sisters grip she ran to Scott and stiles.

Alex tackled them both, Lydia and Allison followed. Running from the flame, the only thing on their minds was saving their friends.

Alex landed on top of stiles, an explosion lighting up the air - no one seemed to stir from their rooms.

Stiles gently rubbed his thumb across Alex's face, wiping a fallen tear.

"Don't ever do that again okay" Alex panted,

"Alex I-..

Alex stood up, shaking off the burning liquid.

"You" Alex looked at Scott, "promise me right now you will never do that again. No matter what you feel or how strongly you feel it, you come to me first"

Scott only nodded, "I promise."

Alex blinked, feeling the weight of a panic attack slowly lift from her chest.

*

Rather then go back to the motel room - dreading what they would be met with. They all fled to the only other place available, which was unfortunately the bus.

Alex couldn't sleep, no matter how hard she tried. Her mind wouldn't rest, everyone else seemed to be out cold.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" Stiles asked, breaking the peaceful silence.

"You should try and sleep" Alex said, her head leaned against the window.

"If you're awake, I'm awake" He poked.

"That's stupid" Alex mumbled,

"Hey" stiles said, more seriously.

Alex looked at him now,

"Talk to me"

"I don't know. I guess I'm just not as passed my mothers death and I want to be. I know she didn't actually commit suicide but she took her own life because of a bunch of words. And not for a second did she think about the effects it would have on her family - maybe she did. But she thought about the wrong effects. She thought she would be freeing us of some cursed life but i would much rather have her here as werewolf. Than dead with this horrible name on her"

Alex could feel that Lump again. It seemed to always be there, just waiting for a moment to strike.

"My dad promised me things would change and suddenly I feel like it's only gonna get worse" Alex admitted.

"Tell me something nice about her"

Alex thought about it, "one time.. I think we were ten. Wherever we were living, there was a huge rain storm. It came out of nowhere, it was like the sky opened up - anyway, Allison and I ran in from the back garden screaming about the thunder, we were dripping wet and my mom wrapped us up in a big towel and rubbed us warm. When we got into dry clothes, she was waiting in the living room for us with blankets and hot chocolate, and told us that as long as we stayed inside we'd be safe. We watched three movies that day, Allison and I eventually passed out in her arms and she and dad carried us to bed."

By the end of her story, Alex was smiling widely. It was always a memory that stuck with her.

"You see, that's your mom right there. Not who she became in those last moments."

"Can you tell me something about yours?" Alex asked, "if you feel comfortable enough"

"When Scott and I were my mom would throw these sleepovers for us. She would do everything in her power to make sure we had the best time, she'd make forts with us and order pizza and make us these huge ice cream Sundays." Stiles described,

"She always knew we didn't have anyone but each other so she told us one amazing friend is better than ten bad ones"

Alex looked at stiles softly, "she sounds fun."

"She would have loved you, she would loved how happy you make me. How much you protect me"

Stiles and Alex spent the rest of the night sharing stories from their childhood, neither one of them thought about how bad things have gotten but only a time when their mothers were caring and fun.

They didn't remember drifting asleep, but Alex awoke hours later; stiles arm still wrapped around her.

"I don't want to know. I really don't want to know" coach Finstock shook, staring at the dazed teenagers.

"but in case you missed the announcement, the meet's cancelled, so we're heading home."

Alex stretched, sitting up. Watching as the other students loaded the bus.

Ethan sat next to Scott, Alex and stiles watched wearily from behind.

"I don't know what happened last night, but I'm pretty sure you saved my life."

Stiles stuck his head in? "Actually, I saved your life, but not that it matters that much. It's just... it's minor detail."

Alex pulled him back, listening to the Alpha.

"So I'm gonna give you something. We're pretty sure Derek's still alive."

Alex's sat forward "what? How did you know"

Ethan ignored her question, "But he killed one of ours. That means one of two things can happen. Either he joins our pack..."

"and kills his own." Scott realised.

"Or Kali goes after him, and we kill him. That's the way it works."

"Wow we are really spoiled for choice"  Alex remarked

"You know, your little code of ethics there is sort of barbaric, just F.Y.I."

Ethan ignored the couples comments, standing up he walked away.

"Coach, can I see your whistle for a second" Lydia asked pulling it off his neck.

"What is it?" Alex asked,

Lydia put the whistle on her mouth, she covered the bottom with her hand before blowing into it.

Taking her hand away, it was stained with the purple dust of mountain ash.

Lydia sighed "Wolfsbane"

"So every time the coach blew the whistle on the bus, Scott, Isaac, Boyd..."

"and Ethan" Lydia added

"We all inhaled it." Scott finished,

"You were all poisoned by it."

"So that's how the Darach got in their heads. That's how he did it." Stiles realized.

Seconds passed, Alex could see the idea behind his eyes. Stiles grabbed the whistle and threw it out the window, just as the bus pulled off.

Coach watched with wide eyes "Hey, hey, hey, hey! Stilinski!"
