"Ewww why are they making us train with the fairies." Riven complained as he nudged Adelinas shoulder. "You literally train with me everyday." Adelina replies sharply. "You don't count as a fairy." Riven tells her sarcastically. Before she had time to respond the headmistress interrupted her. "You all need to learn how to work together. Each specialist will be assigned a fairy." The headmistress announces to everyone. "You have got to be shitting me.... if I get paired with Terra I will drown myself in the pond." Riven huffed in disbelief. "Now I hope you get paired with her." Adelina teases him. The headmistress started breaking people off into groups. Adelina and Riven watched as Silva walked up to her. "Whatever you do... don't put those two together." He told her sharply as he pointed at Riven and Adelina. She nodded as she continued to divide people up into groups.
"Riven you go with...." The headmistress begins to tell him but Riven interrupts her. "Adelina!" Riven yells in a hopeful tone. "Uh no.... I was actually going to say Aisha." The headmistress tells him. "But I've been training with Adelina for the past two years..... she's a fairy and I'm a specialist.... it all works out." Riven tells her as he wraps his arm around Adelina. "Exactly.... you already know how to work with her... this exercise is supposed to help you work with new people... so you are with Aisha." The headmistress orders him as he points to a dark haired girl. Riven groaned dramatically as he let go of Adelina and walked over to the other girl. "I hope you know that I will not enjoy doing this." Riven warns the girl. "I'm Aisha... nice to meet you." She replied sharply. Riven ignored whatever she was saying to him as he looked over at Adelina.
"Can I be the specialist for this training exercise?" Adelina asked the headmistress softly. "You're a fairy Adelina.... not a specialist..... you will be paired up with Sky." The headmistress tells her as she gestures to the blonde boy. Adelina was relieved to be with someone she knew but she hated that she was going to have to use her powers. "We can start off at the simulator over there." Sky tells Adelina softly as he gestures to an area by the tree. She nodded as she walked next to him. "Will you quit staring at that girl?" Aisha asked Riven angrily. "Will you put me out of my misery and drown me?" Riven replied sarcastically. "Quit being a bitch and get up and help me practice my powers!" Aisha yells at him. Riven groans in disbelief as he stands up. "Fine." Riven huffs in agreement. He looked over at his best friend talking to Adelina. He knew Sky would never go for Adelina but Riven still felt a hint of jealously in his heart.
"Is something wrong?" Sky asked Adelina softly. "I'm all good." Adelina replied sharply. Sky gently grabbed her wrist causing her to stop. "Thats bullshit and we both know it.... come on Adi... I'm your friend..... just tell me what's wrong." Sky whispers softly. Adelinas eyes locked with his and she saw the worry in his eyes. She knew he cared about her but she didn't like talking about her problems. Her eyes stayed locked with Sky's as he waited for her to respond. She felt a stick smack against her back causing her to turn around. "Oops! I missed Aisha!" Riven yelled loudly as he put his hands up in surrender. Adelina flipped him off as she walked closer to the simulation. Her mind was now focused on Riven. She knew he was just messing with her but she couldn't get him off of her mind. "Are you sure you are okay?" Sky asked her softly. "I'm just worried about using my powers that's all." She tells Sky softly. Sky gently pulls her in for a hug.
"I won't judge you.... I promise." Sky reassures her. She felt another stick hit her back. "You are literally a child!" She screamed at Riven as she chucked the stick back at him. She aimed for his head and he immediately ducked as he was laughing his ass of. "You like her don't you?" Aisha asked Riven sharply. "Pfff.... Adelina... nah we hate each other." Riven mutters as he looks over at the blonde haired girl. "Whatever you tell yourself..." Aisha mumbles sarcastically. Sky started the simulation. A simulated burned one appeared in front of Adelina. Her mind instantly flashed to the night when it attacked her. She remembered the fear in Rivens eyes. She hated seeing him like that it made her feel useless and like her heart was being torn apart. Sky watched as Adelina froze in front of the burned one. "Adi." Sky says softly as he tries to get her attention. Her eyes started glowing a dark orange color as fire appeared on her hands. Sky noticed tears running down her cheeks. "Adelina!" Sky yelled but she seemed unable to hear him. He looked around frantically looking for a teacher but his eyes only landed on Riven.
"Is she alright?" Riven yelled at Sky as he stared at the girl with concern. Sky looked over at Adelina. She wasn't directing the fire at the burned one. The fire was growing larger and larger around her body. Sky reached his hand out to grab her arm but she immediately stuck him with fire causing him to wince in pain as he fell onto the ground. The fire burned against his hand and arm. Riven quickly sprinted over to the other boy. "Are you alright?" He asked Sky curiously. Sky nodded as he winced in pain. Riven noticed a burn mark going down Sky's arm. "Aisha a little help!" Riven screamed at the other girl. He looked up at Adelina causing him to feel a tug in his heart. She looked so scared as the flames engulfed her. She had tears running down her face and all Riven wanted to do was hold her and tell her she was okay. Riven was willing to get burned if it meant protecting her. Riven felt water pelt his body as Aisha overpowered Adelinas flames. The moment the flames were out Riven wrapped his arms around Adelina. "I could hurt you." Adelina warned Riven. "But you won't." He replied softly. They were both soaking wet but Riven didn't care. "I'm sorry." Adelina whispered as tears fell down her face.
"Shhh... it's not your fault." Riven tried to reassure her. She clung onto Rivens body as she tried to recall the previous event. "I don't know how it happened." She explained through her sobs. She didn't remember using her powers she just got caught up in the memory of the burned one. Her eyes landed on Sky who was laying on the ground in pain. "I'm so sorry!" She yelled desperately at him. "You're good!" Sky reassured her but his face gave away that he was in pain. "I don't ever wanna do magic again." Adelina told Riven as he gently rubbed her back. "It's alright...... I'll help you learn how to control it." Riven tells her softly. "How? Everyone has been trying to fix me..... maybe I can't be fixed Riven." Adelina replied in a hopeless tone. "Hey... you don't need to be fixed Adi..... and no one is trying to change you and I'm not going to let you give up." Riven tells her sharply. She didn't know what to say as she held onto Riven tighter. When she was with Riven she didn't have to hide who she was and she felt safe when he held her in his arms.
"What the hell happened over here?" Silva asked the group in disbelief. His eyes landed on Adelina and Riven causing him to scoff. "I'll handle this." The headmistress tells Silva. "I think you should ban me from ever doing fairy magic again... or do something to take away my powers!" Adelina tells the headmistress as she lifts her head off of Rivens chest. "I'm not going to do that Adelina." The headmistress replies sharply. "I hurt my friend!" Adelina yells as she points at Sky. "I'm not taking away your magic end of discussion I'll see you at training tomorrow morning." The headmistress tells her sharply. Adelina felt more tears fall down her face as she pulled Rivens arms off of her. "I'm sorry I hurt you Sky." She whispered as she knelt beside him. "I will be fine..... you need to believe in yourself.... and not fear the burned ones.... you're getting into your head.... that's what's causing your powers to be uncontrollable." Sky tells her softly. "Thank you Sky." Adelina tells him softly as she places a kiss on his cheek.
Rivens eyes widened in disbelief as Adelina turned around to look at him. "I wanna be alone right now." Adelina tells Riven softly as she walks past him. "What was that?" Riven asks her angrily. "What was what?" She asked him sharply. "That kiss." Riven mutters in disbelief. "I kissed him on the cheek because I accidentally burned his arm.... relax.... it was completely innocent and didn't mean anything....and why do you care?" Adelina replied sharply. "I just wanna make sure you're alright." Riven tells her softly. "Aren't you scared I'm gonna burn you to?" Adelina asks him in a disappointed tone. He walks directly in front of her causing her to stop walking. "I'm not scared of you... I never will be.... all I want is what's best for you." Riven tells her softly. "You may not be scared of me but you should be.... you saw what I did.... I burned one of my best friends! I'm a monster." Adelina yelled as she held back more tears. Riven felt like a knife had been lodged into his heart. "Don't call yourself a monster...... you're not one." Riven tells her sharply. He tries to grab Adelinas arm but she pushes him away. "If you wanna be safe... you have to stay as far away from me as possible!" Adelina warned him. "Adi! Everyone messes up! You have these insane powers at a young age.... you're dealing with a lot so yes you are gonna lose control some times but that doesn't make you a monster... you didn't hurt Sky on purpose." Riven yells at her as his eyes locked with hers. He could see the sadness in her face as she stared back at him. He hated the way she saw herself. He wished she could see herself the way he did. "But I still hurt him Riv....." Adelina replies weakly.
