FOUR CHAPTERS TO GO

And guys, if you haven't popped by my message board and introduced yourself, do it after this chapter. I like speaking and type way more than I should but it's cool talking to you guys :-)

And I just realised that I never actually told you who the mystery P.O.V was. Whoopsity daisy. But the thing is, I can't actually remember who it was. I think it was Jasmine. Ah well, we'll never know. Sorry bout that.

And I think I changed the words in the song. But who cares. And I've put like, half a verse with another cerse but again ,who cares.

________________________________________________________

I remember what you wore on our first date,

You came into my life and I thought hey,

You know, this could be something.

I remember every look upon your face,

The way you roll your eyes, the way you taste,

You make it hard for breathing

Harry's P.O.V

Everything was ready.

Eleanor and Danielle had set up the picnic, Liam and Niall had cooked the food, Louis and Zayn had distracted Lily and Jasmine was throwing instructions at me by the dozen.

My head really hurt.

"Make sure you compliment her. But not offensively. Like, don't say you look like a pretty alien because that would be sucky an-"

What the hell?

"Jasmine? Why the hell would I tell her she looked like an alien?" I sighed, shaking my head at Jasmine's statement.

"Oh I don't know you are a boy and boys tend not to think very clearly..." I let Jasmine's voice fade out as I checked my appearance once more in the mirror. Jasmine had put some sort of gooey substance in my hair to make it even curlier than normal and it had definitely worked. Personally I thought I looked like I had been electrocuted but the girls, and even Liam, had assured me that my hair looked perfectly normal. If there was a time to trust them, it would be now. Jasmine had also picked out an outfit for me, a pair of blue denim jeans and a plain grey top. She had also given me a plaid blue shirt to wear over it, but open. I wasn't sure about the shirt at first but after Jasmine told me that Lily always thought open shirts were hot that was enough convincing for me.

"Harry!" Jasmine snaps at me, her fingers clicking in front of my eyes. "Are you even listening?"

"Totally," I murmur back.

She puts her hands on her hips and narrows her eyebrows at me.

"Now the real answer?" she asks.

"Sorry, spaced out." I apologize. She raises her eyebrows in question. "I'm just nervous is all,"

Jasmine sighs and sits beside me. "Look, I know you're nervous and that's totally fine, but trust me, Lily's probably a lot more nervous than you are right about now." she told me.

"What's Lily got to be nervous about? All she has to do is turn up," I say, running my hands through my hair.

"Don't do that!" Jasmine screeches, jumping up from her spot beside me and peering down at my head. She frantically grabbed hold of my head and started tilting it harshly in all directions.

"Jasmine!" I yelled back, trying to get control of my own head again. No such luck.

Jasmine continued moving my head about until she was completely satisfied. "Thank gosh you didn't ruin it," she breathed, taking her place back beside me. I rolled my eyes and threw my head down on the pillow which caused her too whimper slightly.

"Jasmine, don't touch my head again," I sighed.

"Sorry Harry," she laughed back before plumping a pillow to lean against. "But back to your earlier question. You want to know why Lily's nervous?" she asked me. I nodded. "She's nervous because she's about to go out on a date with Harry Styles. That's a big deal for teen girls you know,"

I furrowed my eyebrows. Lils being nervous didn't make much sense to me. I mean, she was beautiful, she was funny, she was smart and charming and everything that I knew I ever wanted in a girl. I could imagine myself with a girl like her, a girl who could hold her own in a fight. A girl who could make the best frosting in the world. A girl who had the deepest brown eyes I had ever seen. I could imagine proposing to her, bending down on one knee and presenting her with a diamond ring. I could imagine standing at the alter while she walked down the aisle towards me in a white dress. I could imagine exchanging vows. I could imagine a future with her.

"So you ready curly?" Jasmine asked me, swinging her legs round the bed. "It's half six and Danielle said Lily will be waiting at six.”

Wait what?

Jasmine continued. "But obviously that means seven because Danielle doesn't run on anyone else’s time but her own,"

I was praying that Jasmine was right and that I wasn't going to be late for my first date with Lily. "You better be right Blondie,"

"Always am," she grinned back.

Lily's P.O.V

"Danielle would you hurry up! I was meant to be ready a half hour ago!" I yelled at the girl with the shiny brown hair and bright brown eyes. My outburst did not speed her up; she just continued doing whatever she was doing with my hair at snail's pace.

"Lily, Harry will just have to wait, you have to look perfect now, don't you?" Danielle tutted while spritzing my hair with a touch of hairspray.

"But I-"

"Lily! Just chillax, would you?"

I crossed my arms and huffed which only caused Danielle to roll her eyes at my childishness. I stared at my face in the mirror and realised that only a matter of days ago it was Jasmine in Danielle's place.

That fact felt surreal to me. I couldn't believe I had only known the boys and Dani and El for just over a week. Was it even possible to become this close with complete strangers in that length of time? Obviously it was if I had but it still felt completely unreal. Dream like...

Today however had been the weirdest day of all with Louis and Zayn dragging me out bowling and Jasmine and Harry going missing. Jasmine however had made a quick stop at my room around lunchtime, just after we had arrived at the beach house.

"Lily, can I talk to you?" she had asked, making her way to sit on the bed where I was unpacking my clothes.

"Since when did you ask to talk?" I laughed, while putting some clothes in the wardrobe doors.

Jasmine breathed a nervous laugh in return. "Yeah, I guess...”

I wasn't sure why she was feeling so uncomfortable. She had her knees drawn up too her face and her chin was resting on her knees. I looked down at my best friends face. Her cheeks were a soft shade of red, she was blushing. She also had her teeth biting down on her bottom lip, something she only done when she was either, confused, concentrating or nervous. And then she done the thing she only ever done when nervous, she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Jasmine, what's up?" I asked her, realising this was much more serious than I first thought. I stopped folding my clothes, moved them to the bottom of the bed and sat facing her, with my legs crossed. I attempted to give her my best sympathetic look which probably didn't help all that much.

Nice thought though.

"Last night...” she began. Her hands with her freshly painted pink nails began tracing swirls on the duvet on the bed. "Last night, well. Niall and I..." she stopped again, seeming to be having a difficulty to find words. "Well we, you know," she said. She cocked her head to the side on the 'you know' and had her eyebrows so far up her head that I was losing sight of them,

"You what?" I asked, not quite sure what she was getting at. She raised her eyebrows even higher this time and started nodding her head at me. I was begging to get worried that her eyebrows would disappear into her skull forever, so I made my mind start a frantic search for ideas of what Jasmine was trying to tell me.

After a few moments of desperate thinking, a thought finally clicked. I raised my eyebrows and widened my eyes at her in surprise. I knew what she was talking about.

About damn time too Miss Nichols.

"So you're six month rule is long gone?" I asked her, gaping at her in shock.

While Jasmine was beautiful and confident, she was in no way a slut. Even though some people may have thought she was through her high school life, I could guarantee she wasn't. Why? Because Jasmine had rules, and lots of them. Whilst she had no problem kissing someone in the middle of gym class *cough* Callum Gordon *cough* Jasmine was, lets say, old fashioned. She wasn't old fashioned enough to wait until marriage, she personally thought that idea was ludicrous, but she was old fashioned enough to know she had to be in love to do the deed. Therefore, if she was to be in love with someone, she had to be dating them for at least six months.

This rule had been decided on the eve of her sixteenth birthday. After having nine boyfriends in the space of two years and believing that she was in love with every single one of them, Jasmine decided she needed a change. I was fully on board. "I'm never going to be in love again, unless it's a reasonable thing to do," she had told me while eating an oversized tub of cookie dough ice-cream.

"You always think it's a reasonable thing to do," I replied with an eye roll.

"Lily, I am deadly serious," she replied. "I've decided that if I'm with a boy for six months, then I am in love, no less" This resulted in Jasmine refusing to have sex before being in love as she was a hopeless romantic. "I would sign a contract in blood if that wasn't a way to catch tetanus or whatever,"

I had furrowed my eyebrows at her in confusion. "Don't you think you're being a bit... drastic?" I had asked.

She just flicked a marshmallow at me in reply.

In the two years that have passed from that conversation to now, Jasmine has only ever said she was in love once, and that was with Declan, her last boyfriend. They had dated for just less than ten months and he was Jasmine's first. They broke up on the day of our high school graduation, no hard feelings, there still friends now.

"Well, it's still kind of there, isn't it?" Jasmine replied to me.

"Jasmine, you have known Niall for what, four days? How does that classify as six months?" I asked her in disbelief.

"Well if you think about it, I did have that poster of him on my wall when I was sixteen and I loved him then so it's like I've just picked up all those old imaginary feelings, thrown them into reality, and multiplied everything." she answered. Now she was picking at a loose thread on the bed cloth, her eyes only flicking up at me every few seconds.

I was about to reply with some witty response that had not yet came to mind when my brain registered what Jasmine had just said. "Wait, so are you in love with him?" I asked her, trying to hold back a grin of excitement.

Jasmine cheeks turned even redder. "Well I, I don't, maybe. I think I just- but he's so, and I, and we, and-" she stuttered out, her cheeks now the colour of beetroot and her hand waving about in the air.

"Jasmine's in love," I began to sing, swinging my legs back round to continue with the unpacking of my clothes.

She replied with the three words she always used in situations that had her flustered. "Oh shut up,"

My mind was taken of off Jasmine when Danielle's squealing voice broke me out of my thoughts. "You're all done!" she told me flopping herself down on the bed by the window which had been claimed as hers.

The beach house had eight bedrooms. Each room having enough beds to accommodate either two or three people. I wasn't sure who I was supposed to be sharing a room with considering I was sharing with Harry last night and this morning had been so great, but I quickly realised the decision wasn't up to me. It was up to Danielle.

Shocker.

Danielle had put herself in a room with Eleanor, me in a room with Jasmine, Harry sharing with Louis, and Liam sharing with Zayn and Niall. Danielle claimed this left four spare rooms for 'coupley' stuff if necessary. She had looked directly at me when saying this.

I quickly stood up once Danielle revealed this fact. "Thank god," I muttered under my breath as Danielle shot me a warning eyebrow raise. I winked at her before going to stand by the full length mirror which led into the en-suite.

"Oh my god," I heard a voice say by the door, I turned to face Eleanor who was standing with her back against Louis's chest, his arms circled around her stomach. "You look so beautiful!" she squealed while looking to Louis to confirm it.

"You really do Lily," Louis told me, walking into the room with Eleanor by his side. "Like a princess," he said, causing Eleanor to gasp.

"Like what you said about me that night on tour?" Eleanor asked him hurriedly. Louis nodded in reply. "Oh my gosh Lily you're a princess!" Eleanor grinned, jumping to her feet and rushing over to me to give me a hug.

I narrowed to eyebrows at Danielle who seemed to look just as confused as I did. "What?" I asked, my mouth instantly met by mouthfuls of hair.

Eleanor stared at me for a few more moments, brushing a hand across my cheek. She smiled. "You're a princess,"

Harry's P.O.V

Jasmine was right. Lily was late, unsurprising as it was Danielle holding her up. Everyone had disappeared and the only people left in the house were Lily, Danielle, Jasmine and I. Everyone else had gone to the bowling alley for a night out to give Lily and me some privacy, but they did say they would be back by midnight. Just over five minutes ago, Louis and El had come waltzing down the stairs and out the door, but not before telling me how I was certainly in for a treat.

Louis said the treat part. Eleanor stuck to saying Lily was simply beautiful.

Just as I was about to turn and ask Jasmine how much longer Danielle would take, I heard a pair of shoes rushing down the stairs. I quickly turned, hoping I would see Lily with her dark hair flying behind her but it was just Danielle.

"Don't look so disappointed," she huffed. "Lily will be down in a sec,"

I couldn't think of anything to say back so I decided not to reply and began tapping my fingers against the side of my jeans instead. My nervous tapping continued for just over a minute before I heard another pair of shoes descend down the staircase.

My head shot up, knowing for sure this time it would be Lily, and sure enough, there she was. She was wearing a billowing white shirt with buttons up the front not fully done, two or three of the top ones were loose, and a floral patterned blue skirt which stopped mid thigh. Her hair was cascading down her back, just like I knew it would be, and it had been styled in a way that way totally Lily. Curly and sticking in all sorts of directions, but beautiful and perfect and effortlessly flawless. She had a pair brown and cream heels on her feet, making her legs look heavenly. The last thing I looked at was her face, because I knew once I laid my eyes upon it, they would be stuck there. Her skin was pale and creamy, with a light blush spread on her cheeks which was most likely natural. Her eyes were heavily outlined with eyeliner and her eyelashes looked incredibly thick and long, but again, she managed to make it look as if she woke up like that and got ready without a single bit of effort. There was a light red lip-gloss gracing her lips, making them look so kissable...

"Harry," I heard a voice snap in a low whisper beside me. I flickered my eyes over to Jasmine who had her foot on the back of my leg and pushing me forward. "Say something!" she urged, speaking under her breath so Lily couldn't hear her.

I coughed to clear my throat and waited until Lily was at the bottom of the staircase before I said anything. "You look..," I began but stopped, realising that there was in fact no word to describe just how amazing Lily looked right now. I tried again, "You look, amaziful," I said.

Cause that's a word.

I heard Jasmine sigh at the other end of the room and I could practically hear Danielle cringing. "Amaziful?" Lily asked me, laughing slightly at my made up word.

"Yeah," I breathed out, stuffing my hands in my pockets. "I was starting with amazing and ended with beautiful, which makes,"

"Amaziful," Lily and I both said at the same time, causing us both to laugh.

"I like it," she told me, biting down on her bottom lip nervously.

"I'm glad" I replied, shifting my weight from one foot to the next.

Lily and I both stood facing each other for what seemed like an eternity before Danielle coughed, trying to get our attention.

In the amount of time that Lily and I were looking at each other, Jasmine and Danielle had silently made there way over to the door. Actually on second thoughts, they probably done it very noisily but I was too distracted to hear. "Well we're just gonna go...” Danielle informed Lily and me, swinging back and forth on her heels.

"Yeah," Jasmine confirmed, her hand on the doorknob, "You kids have fun,"

                                 _________________

"So where exactly are we going?" Lily asked me. We were walking through long strands of grass in order to get to where Danielle and Eleanor had set up the picnic. I knew where it was, a concealed spot in between two sand dunes so there was plenty privacy. Every time me and the boys come down to the beach, this is the spot we go to. It's the perfect place. The tall sand dunes shield the wind but the sun covers it in its warmth. The spot is large and beautiful, and the lads and I love it, as do Eleanor and Danielle. I'm 100% positive Lily will as well.

"To the beach," I replied. I had not yet told Lily what I had planned for our first date, and she was itching to know.

"Yes, you've told me that," she informed me. Her foot caught in a dent in the sand and she tripped again. "I'm going to kill Danielle for choosing these shoes," she murmured under her breath.

"They look hot on you though," I winked at her, causing her to erupt into a fit of giggles.

"Harry Styles just called me hot," She sighed, flinging a hand over her heart dramatically.

"Technically I called the shoes hot...” I told her, causing her to punch me playfully on the arm. "But you're hot as well. I guess,"

"You guess? Whoa Harry, feeling the love," she laughed. We had now reached the end of the path and were greeted by a slope leading down to the beach. Lily stopped in her tracks and stared out at the water. "It's so beautiful," she smiled, reaching out to grab my hand. I looked down at her petite body and smiled, hardly able to believe that she was mine.

"You want to go down?" I asked her. She nodded eagerly, her face lighting up with excitement. I'm not joking by the way, she was practically glowing.

I lead her forward until we were right at the edge of the path. I took a step forward, about to proceed, but Lily stopped me. "Wait," she told me, while bending down to take of her heels. "I am not going to end up in hospital again over a sprained foot,"

I laughed at this, remembering that only a matter of days ago Lily had been in crutches. "Seems so long ago, doesn't it?" I asked her. She nodded.

Once her heels were off, she came and stood beside me. "Race you?" she asked, a mischievous grin was playing on her lips.

"Count of three," I said grinning. She nodded. "One," I began,

"Two," she said back,

"Three!" we both called, but Lily was already off. She had left just before I said three and was making her way down the hill at an alarmingly fast rate.

Cheat.

"Hey!" I called, chasing after her, kicking sand up behind my feet. "No fair!"

I heard her silver laugh in return. "You snooze you loose Styles," she called back, her little feet not stopping for a moment.

I was about to call back but at that moment, Lily went tumbling down the hill. She was only a small amount away from the bottom but still, she looked so fragile and small in comparison to the large beach and never ending ocean. "Oh my god," I breathed. I began running faster, the warm sand sticking to my feet, and finally got to the bottom were Lily was lying.

"Lils!" I called. "Are you okay?" I rushed towards her and dropped to my knees, spinning her body round to face me. I was expecting to see her eyes shut or maybe even tears, what I did see however was neither of these things. She was laughing

"Oh my god," she chocked out, her giggles stopping her from speaking, "I am such a clutz!" she groaned, pushing herself up with her arms. I instantly reached my arm out to her her up and she took it gratefully. "Can you believe me?" she asked, rolling her eyes at herself. "It's my first date with you and I have managed to make a complete and utter fool of myself." She shook her head. "I'm unbelievable," she muttered.

My ears were in shock, causing my mouth unable to bring out words. "But, you're okay?" I finally managed to choke out.

"Of course I'm okay," she replied, her laughter making my mouth at least crack into a smile. "I'm just so embarrassed...” she added, putting a hand on her hip and shaking her head in disbelief at herself.”Hardly surprising I fell though, isn't it? So typically me," she giggled. "You probably think I'm such a klutz..."

"I'm just glad you're okay," I told her, pulling her in for a hug. It felt good to have her wrapped in my arms, at least now I could protect her.

Lily sighed into my chest, not saying anything. She wrapped her little arms around my waist and took hold of the back of my shirt. "I like this shirt on you," she said. I could feel her smile against my chest.

"I'm glad," I replied, giving her a quick kiss on the crown on her head. She giggled.

"Do that again," she told me.

"Do what again?" I asked.

"Kiss my head," she laughed back. I done as she asked and she giggled once more. "It tickles," she laughed causing me to laugh with her.

I continued to give her small kisses, starting with the crown of her head, and working my way down to the tip of her nose, before finally ending on her lips. She giggled the whole time.

"So, should we actually start this date?" I asked her.

She looked up at me and nodded. I could see the excitement in her eyes. "Yes please," she answered grinning,

I took her hand.
