Knocks appear from the door causing me to open my eyes and look up finding Aden and Indra exchange words. I tilt my head and sit up in the bed putting my hands into my jacket pockets. I stay silent till Indra leaves and shuts the door but Aden stays and looks to me.
"Hey Aden," I say smiling softly. He nods, his face emotionless. I tilt my head to the side scanning his face. "You don't need to do that. Nobody's around. It's just me."
"Heda asked for me to look over you for a bit," Aden finally speaks. I nod and look away.
"Thank you but seriously Aden you can put down your sword. We're the only two in here-" I pause a second seeing the hesitation in his eyes so I do what I can. I pull out one of my hands from my pocket and pat the bed beside me. "Come on, I promise I won't tell." A small smile inched to the young boys face as he nods and takes his sword placing it up against the wall by the door. Once he does that he turns and heads toward the bed. I reposition myself and sit criss crossed on the bed as he sits beside me on the edge of the bed. I tilt my head keeping a gentle smile on my lips looking to the young boy.
"I'm glad they got you back," Aden said turning his head to face me.
"Me too. I'm sorry about Titus. I know he trained you and the other nightbloods," I respond. A somewhat sad expression crosses Aden's face but he shakes his head dismissing the look.
"He was good a trainer." He put on a brave face. I shake my head looking away sort of upset.
"You don't need to do that around me you know? I know the commander and the rest of Trikru want you to act a certain way but around me you don't have to act... act all tough or like an adult. You're a kid."
"I'm a nightblood Y/N. I have to be prepared." I nod at his words picking up my head and looking to him.
"I get that but at least around me, please? You act like there's nothing to worry about. You have fun. Hell I'll even take you and we can prank Nik."
"Prank?" A chuckle escapes my lips glancing away from the boy after seeing his confused face.
"Like a trick- Please tell me you know what a trick is-" I look to the boy and he tilts his head for a moment before slowly nodding. A chuckle escapes my lips as I shake my head. "Okay sure Aden."
"I do-I do! I saw someone in the village do one!" He said trying to prove to me. I remain quiet with an amused look across my face waiting for him to tell me about it. "He took a torch and set this woman's stand on fire!" My amused look drops from my face and for a moment I'm concerned and then I can't help but laugh.
"Aden, honey no-" I pause a moment laughing some more. "That-That wasn't a prank that was just cruel." My laughter continues as I glance to the boy. He looked downright confused and I kept laughing gently bumping my arm into his.
"Oh... Well then what... prank do you have in mind?" Aden tilts his head as my laughter dies down. I let my mind start rolling when I get a good idea.
"Well it's kind of a basic prank but I was thinking we get a bucket full of water and just dump it on Nik." I shrug my shoulders. It's not one of my best ideas but when I look to Aden and see the kid's face light up I feel myself smile. I know that him and the rest of the nightbloods, hell probably most grounders didn't really get a real childhood. They didn't get to experience fun things. I feel like it's nothing but work and training and all that then anything around here.
"Y/N?" Aden says. I look to him, locking our eyes. "When you... died the commander told us nightbloods. She told all of Trikru and then she disappeared. Nobody really seen her. She didn't come to trainings, didn't talk to us. Titus told us she had important matters to attend, but I knew she was just in her room. She missed you. We all missed you. I missed you."
"Awe buddy-" I pause and wrap my arm around the boy bringing him close a bit before pulling away and giving him a gentle smile. "Im here now. I don't plan on going anywhere."
"You know you can't control that." A chuckle escapes my lips as I look away nodding my head.
"You're right. None of us really can but that doesn't mean I won't try my damn hardest not to go anywhere and I expect nothing but the same from you." A smile inches onto Aden's lips as I bump into him once more. And before any more words are exchanged between us a knock erupts at the door as Indra comes in.
"Aden gyon au hit op up kom rest kom natblida (Aden, go meet up with the rest of the night bloods)," Indra says as Aden quickly gets up nodding. He walks to the door bowing to Indra and turning to bow to me right before he turns and leaves. My smile that I wore faded as I slide out of the bed and stuff my hands into my jacket pockets looking to Indra.
"So what I get you to look after me now?" I ask, walking away from the bed. Indra shrugs and looks away from me.
"Not my first choice," Indra responds causing me to chuckle.
"You know I really like this relationship we have going on," I say tilting my head at the warrior. A small snicker comes from her as she rests her hand on her sword.
"We have no relationship as far as I'm concerned." Another chuckle escapes my lips as I shake my head from side to side. "Now can we carry on and get you down to the throne room. The commander is waiting."
"Damn, she always going to send you to come get me-"
"Y/N, Indra," Lexa speaks cussing me to stop talking. Both me and Indra turn to lock eyes with the green eyed commander. A moment of silence fills the room until I notice Lexa give Indra a look then look to me. "Indra can you go check on the plans?" Indra nods quickly exiting the room while pulling the door shut with her.
"Hm now wasn't that interesting?" I say taking a seat on the edge of the bed. Lexa tilts her head and a smile smirk climbs to her lips.
"What was?" Lexa asks walking over and taking a seat beside me.
"Well I simply was telling Indra how you always use her to come get me now instead of yourself," I respond shrugging and looking away from Lexa's eyes.
"I was in a meeting... I trust Indra more than anyone right now to protect you when I cannot." I pick up my head and look to her only to find her side profile. Her green eyes stay glued to the girl and her smirk was gone from her lips. I bite my lip and I shake my head reaching out and placing my hand on her knee. She barely flinches and picks up her head, locking our eyes.
"What's wrong?" My voice lowers looking back and forth between her eyes. Lexa remains quiet looking back and forth between my eyes placing her hand on top of mine. I glance down swiftly looking at our locked hands before looking back up locking our eyes once more.
"Ice nation is threatening to take over Polis-" Lexa pauses and my eyes widen, but soften looking away.
"But they won't. You've stopped them before-"
"We've lost many warriors Y/N. If Azgeda tries we'll possibly fail." I clench my jaw and stand up quickly. The feeling of our hands no longer together burns. I clench my jaw harder and face the girl who still remains seated.
"You're the commander Lexa. You have the other clans behind your back and Skaikru!" Lexa shakes her head.
"I know. But even the coalition is failing."
"Failing? How the hell is it failing?" I look back and forth between Lexa's green eyes as she shrugs her shoulders.
"I don't know..." Her voice trails as she stands. But by the way she acts I know it's most likely because of the A.L.I.E situation and because of me. I look down and shake my head. "The nightbloods are being moved to Tondc for their own protection. And I really want you to stay by me at all times."
"All times? Lexa I'm more than capable to take care-"
"Please!" She steps forward taking a hold of my hands. I clench my jaw seeing tears well up into her eyes. "I can't lose you again..."
"Lexa I saved your ass in the city of light. I'll be okay." I smile a bit but Lexa remains neutral with a sad expression filling her face. A soft sigh releases from my lips as I nod. "Okay fine. But I really do think we should get Skaikru involved. They can help us." Lexa nods and I give her a small smile. She pulls one of her hands away and reaches behind her. Within a split second she pulls out a walkie holding it out to me.
"Clarke handed it to me before she left. She said if you needed to talk to them, they'd be there." A small smile spreads to my lips as I take a hold of the walkie and place it on the bed behind Lexa. I look back to the girl and switch my eyes back and forth between the commander. That's when I see a small smile inch to her own lips. And without another thought I lean forward and lock our lips. But just as fast we pull apart and lean our foreheads together. I flutter my eyes open and see Lexa's still closed.
"Everything's going to be fine. We got this. You got this," I whisper and that's when Lexa's eyes open and I'm engulfed by her beautiful green eyes.
"I'm going to go check with Indra and the rest of my warriors... Get a hold of Clarke and them," Lexa whispers back. I nod and we pull away. The girl heads for the door and I stay where I am watching the back of the girl tilting my head as she walks out the door. Once it shuts again I close my eyes and take a deep breath before taking the walkie and putting it to my lips.
"Arkadia? Arkadia, come in," I start with waiting a moment. "Raven? Clarke? If anyone can hear me we need help." I remain silent once more closing my eyes. My mind starts swirling as I turn in the position I stand in. I pop my eyes open and walk over to the window and out one of the large window door. I step outside onto the balcony and look out, looking over Polis. A deep sigh escapes my lips as I put the walkie back to my lips.
"Arkadia? Somebody please. It's me... Y/N." A silence takes over as I shake my head and drop my arm. I clench my jaw and close my eyes.
"Y/N? Y/N I'm here," a voice quickly speaks into the walkie. Quickly I pick up the walkie and place it to my lips but the person beats me to it. "Are you okay? What's wrong?"
"Octavia, Trikru and Skaikru are in danger," I say looking out into Polis once more.
"What do you mean?" Octavia questions.
"Azgeda is preparing for war. I guess they're trying to take over Polis and become the leader."
"Where are you right now?" Bellamy's voice asks.
"In Polis- Lexa's already had the nightbloods leave to Tondc and some of the villagers here, but we're short on warriors due to A.L.I.E," I answer looking below to the ground. Grounders walk up and down the streets of Polis. They knew of nothing going on. I clench my jaw and pick up my head.
"You need are help?" Bellamy questions.
"We all do- I wouldn't ask if we didn't."
"We'll be there-"
"Hold on," Clarke's voice speaks up interrupting Octavia. "How do you know this Y/N?"
"Lexa told me and it makes sense doesn't it? Since the beginning ice nation has tried to destroy the coalition. They killed a lot of Skaikru members Clarke. We have to fight together so we can all live." Silence takes over as shouts and screams appear from below me. Quickly I turn and look over noticing people dropping to the ground. My eyes widen and bend down.
"Y/N? What the hell was-" Before Bellamy could finish loud shouts and another round of screams appear outside my door. My eyes snap towards the door as several rapid pounds begin.
"Y/N? Y/N?" Clarke asks, her voice frantic. I keep my eyes on the door as I take in a deep breath.
"They're here... Hurry," I whisper into the walkie turning it off and placing it on my belt before slowly slipping into the room again. Another round of pounds occur and I jump slightly, a shaky breath escaping my lips. So I remain still for a moment before my eyes catch a glimpse of a sword. Aden's sword.
