The bluenette patiently waited for the boy to give her a ring as she curled into a ball underneath her covers. She had been in bed all day long after the incident that took place yesterday. It wasn't long before her hand held device chimed a notification, signaling an incoming call from a familiar face. Cindy tapped onto the 'accept call' button without any hesitation.
"Hey, you there?" His accent was strong as ever but the tone was quiet and less peppy than his usual voice during a live stream or video upload. Cindy found it quite odd to hear to what she referred as Tommy's 'normal' voice.
"I'm here." She answered, her voice sounded sullen and a bit hoarse. It was as if she had been crying for hours—she was crying but she did everything in her power to hide such emotions.
There was a pause for a moment, an awkward silence in the atmosphere. It was usually like this for the two. Cindy and Tommy found themselves more loud when other people were around or whenever they're communicating through the use of Twitter and group chats but when it came to a one on one, somehow these two ended up being a bit too awkward.
"Cindy? Are you really okay?" He questioned, his voice filled with concern. His words breaking through those walls she built up.
The bluenette cleared her throat, mustering up enough courage to speak and break the uneasy tension between them on the line. A sharp exhale emerged from his phone. "I'm not, Tommy."
"So, what's up? What really happened?" He inquired once more, eager to learn the story from Cindy herself. "Man, I'm not used to hearing you say Tommy instead of bitch boy. " Tommy chuckled at his last statement.
A weak smile curved upon her lips but it instantly faltered not too long after. "It started with a message I received from Twitter the other day."
"The person knew about my real name and the school where I go to." Cindy explained, her lips quivering in the process as she recalled the incident once again. "They also told me that I'm stealing you from Tubbo and the Sleepyboisinc."
"It turns out, it was a girl that goes to my school. I don't really know what her deal is with me but the next day after I got her message on twitter, she harrassed me by grabbing me by the wrist and she just started screaming at me crazy about how I'm a clout-chaser." She sharply exhaled a breath. "My friend arrived on time and punched her in the face for me. The three of us got called to the office. Although I didn't receive any punishment, my best friend did since she was the one who punched her and the girl was suspended for assaulting the offense first."
"It's just one hell of a day. The incident and all the hate I've been getting on Twitter aren't making things any better at all for me."
"That's really fucked up, really fucked up. I didn't know—we didn't know." Tommy fell short for words upon hearing her unpleasant story momentarily. "You weren't stealing me from anyone nor using me, that's complete bullsh!t!"
"It's okay, Tommy." Cindy exhaled a deep sigh. "Well, now you know the reason why."
"I'm not really good at saying the right thing when comes to this kind of situation." Tommy began, making sure to carefully pick the right words as to not offend or make Cindy feel any more worse. "But, I know for a fact that you're not alone. A lot of people care for you and it isn't just me. You're more than what those sh!tty haters say. Who cares what they think? They don't know anything about you, they don't know the real you."
"It may seem like the world is like being a pain in the ass right now with its shittiness but things will get better. I'm sure of it."
"Okay." A smile finally broke through her face as tears pricked against the brim of her eyes. "Hey, Tommy?"
"Yeah?" He took note at the sniffling sound that emerged from his phone. "Oh god, I didn't mean to make you cry. Don't cry, I will get cancelled for this!"
"Don't ruin the moment bitch boy." Cindy laughed, unable to hold back the smile pulling at the ends of her lips. "I'm fine, I just couldn't help myself."
"Well don't scare me like that blue bitch. I was trying my best to offer some comfort and words of encouragement." Tommy retorted back, joining in her laughter. "But, did it work?"
"Yeah, it did." It really did give her solace in this tough situation she was in. "I feel much better."
"Wait, you said that dickhead knew your real name." Tommy's laughter subsided into a serious tone. "I thought Cindy was your name the whole fucking time! What the hell?"
"It's a nickname smartass. I told you that when we first played Among Us together with Dream and the others." Cindy brought a hand to her face, holding back another fit of laughter that was tickling her throat. "What the hell?"
"What is your name, then?" Tommy inquired but quickly regretted it. "Oh, shit, right—you don't have to tell me though if you're not okay with it."
"I trust you enough, Tommy."
"My name is Cynthia, it is my English Name." Cindy explained briefly.
"Oh! So, that's where the nickname Cindy came from. I get it." Tommy answered, "Cool name."
"And yours?" She questioned chuckle escaping her lips. "I mean, it's only fair that I get to know yours too."
"Tomathy." He answered without any second thoughts. If only she knew the smile he was wearing as he was speaking.
"Aww, your name sounds like a tomato! No wonder you're the red in rbtwt." Cindy claimed with laughter.
If only could she could see him roll his eyes at this very moment. "Oh, don't flatter me woman!"
"By the way." Tommy suddenly perked up, remembering her story from earlier. "Did your friend really punched the dickhead?"
Cindy snickered at the phone, "Yeah, she did punch the dickhead, in the face."
"Now, that's poggers." Tommy bursted into a fit of laugter at the thought of her friend punching someone in the face. Eventually, she joined in the laughter too shortly after.
