Sugar Rush, the Castle- [1997]
(King Candy)-
Today was my first official day as King Candy. The arcade had opened, but I did not go to the race tracks. Since I joined late, I wouldn't be on the roster, so it wouldn't have really mattered. With this opportunity, I took the time to instead stay at the castle so I could examine through Vanellope's code.
Darn it! That's why I couldn't delete her! I should have known her mainframe would have been tied directly into the game. As one of the main characters, the game has to have a way of ensuring she isn't deleted! Why did I not think of that before I made her into a glitch?!
I angrily thought to myself, as I tried to figure out more to this scenario. If the game has precautions for her to not get deleted, then they have to have some sort of protocol to regenerate her code...
As I scrolled through Vanellope's code, I found that there was indeed a set of instructions for in case this scenario does happen.

Debugging Notes-
If Princess Vanellope's interior files are to be erased or go missing for any reason, the remaining character will automatically seek out to race along the racetrack during the game's sleep mode. Upon crossing the finish line, the character's files will be restored. This event will also reset any changes made to the game itself to prevent any permanent bugs left behind by a glitched princess. The changes that will reset include any altered game memory, damages made to the environment, and any foreign elements that has either found its way into the game's code or existing elements that are operating in a way that it initially should not.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Just great! Now I have to somehow prevent Vanellope from racing?! How will I do that?
...
Wait a second, how could I have forgotten? I am the king now! The entire kingdom is here to serve my beckoning call! If I play my cards right, I can have control of this kingdom for as long as is necessary.
I laugh to myself, seeing my plan start to reconstruct itself. Brilliant! I just need to think of how to approach this error so I can secure my spot on the throne.
I cocked my head towards the direction of the Code Room's exit, as I tugged on the licorice rope around me. "I am ready to be pulled back in!", I hollered to the green ball on the other side.
I floated along, as Sourbill pulled me out of the game's code. Once I had made it back into the castle I immediately started untying the licorice rope from myself.
"Thank you, um... S-Thourbill", I praised Sourbill, trying to remember to keep with the lisp. Sourbill just nodded in response. "Now, come along. We need to.. We need to start prepping up for tonight'th Random Roster Race", I ordered him as I start heading towards the throne room.
"... Yes, your majesty", he states, as he follows me to the throne room.
As I start walking through the throne room, I take a moment to look around at the walls. "Egh, we've got to do something about the castle's interior", I uttered in minor annoyance.
"... What's wrong with them?", Sourbill asked with the raise of an eyebrow(?).
"Well... the castle is grand and all... It's jutht... the color. There's so much pink", I explained.
"...well, I wouldn't quite call it 'pink'..", the green butler stated.
"Pfft! Thourbill, that's clearly pink. You can't tell me that it's not pink", I gestured to the walls to express my point.
"Perhaps, but it's not the usual shade of 'pink' one would think of"
"Hm... What do you mean by that?", I curiously questioned.
"Well, the shade of pink people tend to think of is brighter. This shade has a more red tint to it..", he points out.
I paused for a moment to consider what the sour ball said. Pink isn't exactly my favorite color, but upon closer inspection, the walls do have the slight alertness of the primary red. "Hey, you're right! It does have a thlightly redder tone. In fact, thith color reminds me of ... It reminds me of when I'd eat sashimi, like the thalmon used inside...", I reminiscent as I analyze the familiar color. "Oh, I know! That'th what we should call it!"
"... You should call it what?", Sourbill implored with a slight confusion .
"The color. We should refer to this color as 'thalmon'! It's a thimilar color to the inside of a thalmon, so the color should be called 'thalmon'! It sounds like a much better name for it then 'pink' would", I enthused over the discovery.
"Ah, alright. That certainly makes sense", he nods.
"Right?... You know what? Let's forget about changing the color; it would be a lot lesth work anyways. Thank you, Thourbill!", I thanked him, to which he responded with what looked like a small smile. You know, Sourbill is actually more of a help than I thought. "Now come along! I could use your assistance", I smiled as I motioned for Sourbill to follow me upstairs.
After a few flight of stairs, we made it to the master bedroom that was formerly Vanellope's. For the first time in so long, I was able to sleep comfortably. Despite yesterday's mishap, I was able to rest easy in an actual bed. Since I have the time for it, I figure it's best that I make this space my own. The best way to start is by clearing out all of Vanellope's stuff.
With that, I spent the afternoon emptying the drawers of Vanellope's clothing, as I had Sourbill help to put them up somewhere in the castle's storage. When he asked, I didn't tell him who they belonged to; all I told him was that they were spare clothes that I'd want put up until I could figure out what to do with them.
Just got to get the "spring cleaning" out of the way before tonight's race. Then, I could put the rest of my plan to action...

Sugar Rush, King Candy's Castle - (Present Day)
(Y/N)-
I huff and puff, as I tried to calm down.
My eyes... Did I see them right?
I knew what I saw in the mirror, but I couldn't believe it. I was very confused. I mean, how could I believe it? My eyes did a strange... thing. Am I seeing things? There's no way the pixels of my eyes could have shifted; I didn't feel a thing, so how could it have happened?... How did it even happen? I told myself that I was happy to be back in the castle, then my eyes just suddenly did that!
...
Did I really mean it though? I mean, it didn't feel bad to say it, but it didn't feel satisfying to hear in my own mind. I suppose I wasn't entirely honest with myself, but... Wait a minute...
"...it'th a bit of a dead giveaway when you lie...", I recalled my king stating.
... I lied to myself... Do my eyes do this... this thing when I lie? So, I guess this is something else that both King Candy and Sourbill were hiding from me?
... First, it was my different design, then it was my kart, and now this?...
Tears started to fill my eyes, but before I could work through my emotions, another overwhelming feeling took over me.
"... What else is he lying about?!", I furiously shouted as I shoved the folded clothes off the dresser. What was once neatly folded now falls to the floor in wrinkled folds.
"What else is he hiding from me?!", I wailed as I flung the small mirror I had looked into just now across the room, the glass shattering to the floor.
I was making a mess, but any composure I had before had let me. "I bet he lied about me not phasing through the floors that night!", I huffed as I continued to turn the room upside down in my fit of rage. "I bet he'd know why I am having these dumb visions! He'd never tell me though, would he?!", I threw and flipped over objects in an attempt to express what my bottled feelings created. I should have stopped, but it actually felt satisfying. It wasn't until I began to lift up the chest in the room to try and toss it over that my senses came back to me.
"... What is wrong with me?", I cried in desperation. "This... this isn't me! Why am I being so destructive?", I broke down, as I dropped the chest I was lifting onto its front. I sank down onto the floor, trying so hard to process everything. I have never felt anger before today. Is this really how it is? I knew it was something scary, but I never actually thought it could go this badly. I am so confused...
In truth, today was a very confusing day for me so far. It was one of the first days I had actually been outside the castle on my own without King Candy, yet I also got kidnapped and gotten bullied. I am finding out so much about myself, yet I feel like I know so little when I do. One of the most awestrucking things was that I barely learned how to drive today!
I feel myself begin to calm down as I thought more of today's events. Everything is just so confusing, maybe even frustrating to take in all at once, yet it all makes me feel like I am actually alive. Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope, they both in one way or another made a part of my day...
... So why must I have to stay here for the rest of it?, I now thought, as I wiped my tears from my eyes.
"No, I shouldn't have to stay here", I stood up from my spot on the floor. "I do admit, it doesn't feel right to disobey my king, but I shouldn't have to stay here for the rest of my life, and neither does Vanellope!"
I felt ready to run back down to the Fungeon to try and free Vanellope, but before I did, something caught my eye. The lid of the chest that I flipped over was open. What it was that has fallen over from inside was an entire stock of the gold coins the racers use for their entry into the races. Wow, so many coins...
I grabbed one of them in my hand. The coin was very shiny, and it had a cleared space in the center that was the shape of the king's crown. As for the feel of the coin, the gold was very smooth, and surprisingly very light weight. Wow, so this what a Sugar Rush coin looks like... Actually, I think I can use this...
With that, I placed the coin in my pocket before I ran down the stairs towards the Fungeon.
I had barely made it down to the throne room when I felt a rumble from below. "What the...!", I jolted as I felt my feet shake a bit. It then clicked to me that it came from down in the Fungeon. I immediately dashed down the corridor leading down to the Fungeon, slightly panicked.
The moment I made it down to the ground floor, I started to move through the passage way, trying to be alert to avoid whatever it was that caused the rumble. As I moved along, I noticed that the man in blue wasn't in his cell. I peered through the door's grate to see that there was a large hole in the wall. I immediately started to bolt towards where Vanellope's cell is, now a little scared.
As I approached Vanellope's cell, another rumble shook, only this time, it came from the direction of her cell. "Vanellope!, I gasped as I nearly stumbled forward.
I have to think, where are the keys to her cell?
I tried to look for them some where along the key racks on the walls, but there didn't seem to be any keys. Doh! Wynchel and Duncan must had taken the keys with them!
I looked back towards the door. It looks like I have no other choice!, I thought as I started to back up to build momentum. I just got to try and break the door down! Oh, this is going to hurt, but it's for Vanellope...
Without further hesitation, I prepared to slam the side of my body against the door, hoping it would at least budge. I began to shut my eyes expecting the painful impact of the rusted door.
The hard impact of the door never came. What did come instead was that I heard a strange noise and I felt myself fall downwards. Being unprepared for the fall, I landed face first, then hitting my elbow along with the rest of my body.
"Ouch...", I utter as I rub my nose, the part that was impacted the most by the fall.
"(Y/N)?!", Ralph shouts, his eyes wide with shock. I focus my attention on the wrecker. He was breaking off the glitch-proof chains from Vanellope, and he was just removing the shackle from around her torso.
"Ralph! I should have figured it was you who broke in!", I rejoiced, almost forgetting about the pain on my face.
"Nevermind about Ralph breaking in! (Y/N), you just went through the door!", Vanellope exclaimed, her eyes just as wide as Ralph's.
"Huh?", I questioned, as I turned my head slightly. Sure enough, the door remained closed. Good to know then that I can go through things. King Candy is definitely going to have some explaining to do...
"(Y/N), are you a glitch, too?", Ralph asked.
"Um... Well, I- ", I started to respond, though I was unsure of the answer.
"Wait, but she didn't glitch through the door. There weren't even pixels when she went through. She just fell through it like it just wasn't even there", Vanellope pointed out.
"Well, whatever it was, it is definitely not normal", Ralph declares, as he tried to avoid wrapping his head over the situation further.
"Yeah, yeah. Well anyways, we are all back together now!", Vanellope cheers, as she runs over to give me a hug. I face was still stinging, but it didn't stop me from giving her a hug back. After a few seconds, Vanellope let's go from the hug. "Oh, um... (Y/N), are you alright? Your nose is bleeding a bit...", she murmured.
After she points this out, I notice the feeling of liquid coming from my nose. I press a finger below my nose and pull it back to my view to see that their was indeed a driblet of dark pink blood. "Great, I don't have a tissue on hand", I groaned, as I tilt my head back, feeling more of the liquid get ready to flow.
"Oh, wait! I know someone that could help you with that", Ralph states, as he goes over to the corner around to where he broke the hole in the wall. "Hey, could you come over here real quick?", I hear him holler.
From around the bend came the man in blue from the other cell. "Yes, Ralph?", the man asked in a well mannered tone, to which Ralph points over to me. The man in blue began to approach me. "Oh my, you are flowing a bit", he hurried over to me, as soon as he noticed my bleeding nose. He kneels down in front of me as he pulled out a golden hammer from his tool belt. "Don't worry, I can fix it", he assured me.
"Um, I don't think that is the righ-", I began to worriedly say, seeing him pull out a hammer. Before I could've finished though, he tapped me with it. I heard the 'dings' come from his hammer and before I knew it, I felt no more pain. I felt around from underneath my nose to see that I wasn't even bleeding anymore. "Wow, I can't believe it. Thank you very much".
"No problem, ma'am. It's just what I am good at!", he grinned as he offered me a hand up, to which I took. Upon standing up, I found that he was maybe only a foot taller than me.
"(Y/N), I'd like to properly introduce you to the hero of my game", Ralph confidently declares, as he approaches to stand by the dirty-blonde, blue-eyed carpenter. "(Y/N), meet Fix-It Felix Jr.; Fix-It Felix Jr., meet (Y/N)"
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss (Y/N)! I hope Ralph here didn't cause you much trouble", Felix courteously tipped his blue cap.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, too, Fix-It Felix. Both you and Ralph have really fitting names, don't cha?", I beamed as I greeted the polite man.
"Haha, that we sure do", he nervously chuckles, as he gives Wreck-It Ralph a side glare, to which the giant pretended not to notice.
"Yeah. Hey, so I saw you were in one of the prison cells. What happened that you ended up to get you in there?", I asked out of a curiosity.
"Oh, that? Well, you see, I came to Sugar Rush to fetch Ralph so we could head back to our game before we get unplugged the next morning. Unfortunately, the spitfire lady that I was traveling with left me on the path towards this castle, where I got dropped down a chute into my cell by a grumpy green ball", Felix tries to explain as calmly as possible.
"Ah, that's Sourbill for you. Well, it's a good thing Ralph gotten you out, right?", I positively state.
"Yep, that much is true", Felix nods.
"Then what else is true is that I got Felix to fix up Vanellope's kart!", Ralph enthused, as he walks over to the kart that looked as if it came fresh out the bakery.
"Wow! It looks like it had never gotten broken in the first place!", I stared at the kart in awe.
"Yep, and without a further adieu, the race is back on!", Vanellope giddied as she hopped in the driver seat. "Come on, guys! To the race tracks we go!", she called everyone over. Ralph took his usual place on the rear of the kart, while Felix found a spot on one of the sides of the kart's spoiler.
"Alright, but would you mind taking a quick detour to Diet Cola Mountain?", I politely requested, as I took a seat on the end of the spoiler opposite Felix.
"That'd depend. Why do you ask? ", Vanellope turned to question me, with a slight raise of an eyebrow.
"Because I'd like to make a last minute entry", I smirked as I pulled out the coin from my pocket, "and frankly, I don't think I can be of a help to you in this race without a kart".

End of Part-
Wow, guys! I am just so excited rn! Aren't you guys excited, too?
Well, before we can get any further, I'd like to say two things.
One of them being that there'd be a pause in between parts for a Q&A, so if you have questions about the story so far (but I'll be discreet with any spoilers), if you have any questions about me, or maybe any of my upcoming projects, don't be afraid to ask.
As for the second thing... Well isn't that just a coinky-dink? It just so happens that I was just about to drop off a teaser for an upcoming AU fanfic! So if you have any questions or thoughts on it, now is your chance! OwO
Well, until the next time my fellow freaks! Ciao, and I love y'all! <3
