THIRD PERSON POV
7 months later
4th April 2019
"Decor?"
"Check!"
"Food?"
"Check!"
"Music?"
"Check."
"Outfits?"
"Check!"
"Grooms?"
"Che- uhh wait... where are they?" Hoseok asked, looking around. "They were here just a second ago!"
"What the fuck?! How am I supposed to plan everything when the grooms are not here? This is so hard! I didn't sign up to babysit two fully grown babies who can't remain stationary for 2 seconds! Someone take up my job, this is too hard," Jimin dramatically complained.
"You literally have the easiest job here. We're the ones doing the hard work," Yoongi mumbled under his breath while rolling his eyes.
Meanwhile, on the terrace overlooking the beach and ocean which spread miles and miles away, stood the two fiancés. Jungkook had his arms around Taehyung's waist while the latter leant his back against the younger's chest.
Both were content in the embrace, gazing at the star-filled sky and calm waves which crashed on the shore. A light breeze blew over them, the chill air at night very contrasting to the hot one during the day.
"Can you believe it, baby?" Jungkook asked softly. "We're so close to getting married."
Taehyung nodded with a smile and hummed. "Tomorrow, at this time, you'll be my husband already." He tilted his head to place a kiss on his soon-to-be-husband's cheek.
Jungkook grinned. "It feels unbelievable," he said, tightening his hold around Taehyung and leaning closer to rest his chin on the elder's shoulder.
They remained peacefully this way until-
"YAH! I'M BUSY MAKING SURE EVERYTHING'S GONNA BE PERFECT FOR TOMORROW AND YOU BOTH ARE BUSY HUGGING HERE?!" Jimin roared as he found the two on the terrace of the hotel they were staying at.
"Chill hyung, we just came to get some fresh air," Jungkook said.
Jimin closed his eyes and pressed two of his fingers on his eyelids in frustration. "Honestly it feels like it's more my wedding than yours that I'm planning. I'm seriously more invested than you both!"
"Well, that's kinda your job. It's you who chose to be the wedding planner," Taehyung muttered.
"Excuse me?!" Jimin snapped his head towards him. "Did you say something?"
Taehyung shuddered a little. Jimin might be small but he could be really scary too. "N-nothing!"
Jungkook chuckled and grabbed his fiancé's hand. "Let's go inside and finalise everything," he said.
After Taehyung had proposed on Jungkook's birthday, the two had been elated to have a more official relationship. Some things had been hard, between answering media questions and being followed by more paparazzi than usual to being met by different reactions from the general public, the two boys felt overwhelmed.
However, as time went by, people seemed to have grown more accepting or their attention had simply been diverted to other hot topics regarding the entertainment industry. Whichever it was, Taehyung and Jungkook were glad to have the trouble off their backs.
Initially, they had planned to remain engaged and tie the knot a few years later. However, they both loved each other immensely and were ready to get married, so they decided to go for it.
The members, their families and close friends were the one preparing everything for the special event. The wedding was scheduled to be on the 5th of April. A few days prior, families, friends and staff members had taken the plane to Maldives, where the wedding would take place.
The boys had decided to have just a small but special wedding, away from the eyes of journalists and paparazzis who craved material for their articles. They preferred setting up a private event and had taken suggestions on how they could do so.
Finally, it had been Yoongi who had suggested holding the wedding on a small island by the beach. Following this, Namjoon had then proposed the idea of going to the Maldives.
After viewing some pictures of the place, everyone was delighted with the beautiful beach and calm atmosphere that seemed to be radiating from it. So, the location had been finalised.
And just like that, from booking their flights and hotels to arranging the wedding, the members took care of it all, making the event feel 7 times more intimate.
They had decided to book little wooden houses built over the sea with wooden paths linking them instead of usual boring hotels. It made the experience all the more new and exciting. Those houses were rather luxurious too.
The next day
"Everyone ready?" Namjoon asked at the top of his lungs, standing at the centre of the plethora of huts on the wooden pathway.
Several people came out of their huts in their fancy clothes for the wedding, some wearing pretty dresses while others sported elegant suits. However, some people still took their time getting ready and among those were the 2 grooms as well.
Jungkook was being helped by Seokjin and Yoongi to get ready while Jimin and Hoseok helped Taehyung. Well, of course, they knew how to get dressed on their own but the help they needed was more in terms of emotional support.
Both of them were panicking in the separate huts parallel to each other. Seokjin was trying his best to calm down Jungkook who was growing more and more nervous as the seconds passed by while Yoongi tried giving him some advice.
"I'm freaking out!" Jungkook said, hands grabbing his hair almost ready to pull at it when he received a slap on the head from Seokjin.
"Don't do that! You'll ruin your hairstyle! None of us will be able to get it back this way if you ruin it and I don't think you'd want to get married with a bird's nest on your head," scolded the eldest as Jungkook pouted a little, still muttering about how nervous he was.
In fact, their stylists who had worked with them for a long time and were obviously really close to them had also been invited. The boys had already gotten their hair and make-up done before getting dressed into suits.
Meanwhile, for Taehyung, you could say he was on the verge of a mental breakdown...
"Hyung! I'm going to forget my vows! I can't do this! What if he says no? Oh my God!" He exclaimed, jittery and pacing around.
"Tae, you won't forget your vows and he won't say no," Jimin rolled his eyes, holding the now mint-green haired boy's suit in his hands. The latter sat on a couch, still in his bathrobe, holding the page on which he had written his vows, reviewing them.
He looked up at Jimin with widened eyes. "You never know that! What if he realises at the last moment that he doesn't wanna get married?!" Taehyung asked.
Jimin sighed and brought a hand up to massage his forehead. "Hobi hyung, I can't handle him anymore. Please, do something!" Jimin pleaded.
Hoseok chuckled, "I don't think I've ever seen him this nervous. He wasn't even that nervous for our debut!"
Meanwhile, Taehyung was focusing on his page, muttering the words to himself. Hoseok walked up to him and crouched down before him. He held him by the shoulders, causing the younger to look up at the slight shaking of his shoulders and the sound of his hyung's voice.
"Listen Tae," Hoseok said firmly. "Forget all the what ifs, all the nervousness, all the anxiety... stop overthinking. Jungkook loves you as much as you love him. He won't say no. You can do this, Tae. You'll be fine. This is your day and you're going to own it, okay?"
"Yeah! What he said!" Jimin chirped cheerfully.
Taehyung looked at both of them, widened and wavering eyes going back to normal. He felt a little more relaxed as he nodded. Hoseok was right. Nothing would go wrong. He's got this!
His adrenaline level decreased to become more manageable. He still felt this giddy sensation but it wasn't caused by his jitters anymore. He felt more excited than anything else.
He wore his trousers and white shirt followed by the grey suit. The outfit seemed simple but as Taehyung wore it, he felt the weight of what this simple outfit meant. In only a few hours from now, he would be a married man. A happily married man.
He smiled at the thought as he added his favourite detail to his attire. It was a small, barely noticeable yet striking brooch that he pinned onto the collar of his shirt. It was of a deep blue colour, the colour of Jungkook's birthstone, the sapphire. Jungkook would be wearing a similar one too, except it would be of a light blue colour to represent Taehyung's birthstone.
Looking at himself in the mirror, the older groom felt an immense happiness regarding that small accessory. Perhaps even a diamond encrusted suit with gold and silver embroidery (as Jimin had wanted them to wear), wouldn't have made him feel this much satisfaction. He liked to believe that this small precious stone which linked Jungkook and him, was the principal element to their outfit.
"I got this," he murmured to himself with a sigh and small smile.
Taehyung finally decided to step out and when he did, he was met with a sight that made his heart swell. Jungkook was there, standing in his black suit right in front of him, the little precious stone attached to his shirt collar as he waited for him.
At that moment, Taehyung felt an overwhelming sensation wash over him. 'This is real,' he told himself. 'We're really getting married.'
Jungkook flashed him a smile which the elder returned and both fully got out of their huts to meet in the middle of the wooden platform joining their two huts.
"Hey," Jungkook said, his smile glowing brightly when Taehyung was finally beside him.
"Hi," Taehyung replied, a similar smile adorning his own face.
"You look gorgeous," Jungkook leaned closer to whisper in his ear. Taehyung blushed as the younger retreated.
"Th-thank you. You look handsome too," Taehyung responded while shyly tucking a small portion of his faded green hair behind his ear.
Jungkook gave him his bunny smile and took his hand in his. The couple looked each other in the eyes, love sparkling in their orbs before they began advancing on the platform.
"Look at them, so in love with each other," Jimin chuckled while watching them staring into each other's eyes.
"They look so cute," Hoseok gushed from behind.
"They're so grown-up too," Seokjin added while feigning the action of wiping a tear to appear more emotional.
As the two lovers walked forward, clutching each other's hands tightly, the other members walked behind them on the plank, a gentle music playing in the background. Each time they passed a pair of huts, petals of white and purple flowers were thrown at them from either side. The guests from the huts then joined the queue being formed, all waking towards the beach where the wedding would be held.
Taehyung and Jungkook giggled at the shower of flowers, trying to catch some of the petals as they came to them, feeling utterly happy. Right at this moment, they knew it was something they would look back at with much fondness a few years from now. It was a moment they would truly cherish for the rest of their lives.
Finally reaching the beach, the procession now walked towards the altar. It had been cutely set up in the colours of the theme: purple and white. The chairs aligned were also decorated with the same colours.
Taehyung and Jungkook let out a breath in fascination. The decoration was just so pretty. The two had a vague idea of how it would look like but they hadn't been allowed to see the final product. So they were surprised by the beauty of the setup.
The altar was supported by four poles made of polished bamboo sticks which were draped in lavender, blue and white veils. Beautiful bouquets of flowers were pinned to the veils at the top four corners and in the middle of each pole to enhance the suspended veils.
Under it was a small table with a purple base and glass top on which stood a vase of purple flowers. Right across the table was a pathway made of a shiny purple glass, on which the late-afternoon sun was being reflected. At its edges were rows of decors that seemed to have been made out of muslin paper.
On the sides of the pathway were alternating decorations between medium-sized stands draped in white muslin fabric and different shades of purple flowers in bouquets at the top and large ones with rectangular bushes of flowers joining the two poles at the top. The big ones had purple ribbons which were loosely wrapped around the white veils.
As for the chairs, they were covered with white fabrics which were secured with large purple ribbon tied in a bow at the back.
(Basically a mixture of these 3 photos. So altar is from the 1st pic, the stands and chairs from the 2nd one and the pathway and table are from the 3rd one ^.^)
Taehyung was the first to walk down the purple aisle alongside his parents. The guests had already taken their seats and the attention was focused on Jungkook who was about to join Taehyung at the altar, accompanied by his parents.
At that precise moment, Taehyung's eyes began to water as he realised how real this was. Several times before he had felt this ecstasy coursing through him yet nothing could compare to how he felt right then.
It was a moment he had waited for so long. It's like he had wanted this to happen his whole life, it was like he was about to accomplish his life's purpose. To him, and he was sure the same could be said for Jungkook, it was not just a wedding.
It was so much more. It was creating a stronger bond by official means. They would officially be recognised as each other's and they couldn't be prouder of it.
Taehyung smiled through his welling tears as he watched Jungkook walking closer to him, closer to officially be his. Jungkook grinned cheerfully at him and once he was right in front of him, the younger reached a hand up to wipe away the tears that were spilling onto Taehyung's lower lashes.
Soon, they were taking each other's hands in their own, ready to speak out their vows. Taehyung, who had been nervous that he might forget his vows, was to go first.
"Jeon Jungkook," he began. "It is an honour for me to take you as my husband and be yours. You're the most radiant person I know and I would never allow anything to take that radiance away from you. I vow to always keep you in high spirits and to share joyous moments with you for eternity."
Taehyung paused. He looked down to his shoes, hanging his head. "This is stupid," he said suddenly, still not facing Jungkook.
The latter's face contorted into one of confusion as he asked himself what Taehyung meant by that. Was he perhaps having second thoughts? He had been the one to propose though. But then Jungkook remembered that Taehyung initially planned on waiting a few years before actually getting married.
What if he was thinking that they were way too young for this? What if he was thinking that it was stupid for them to be getting married when they were still barely even adults?
He wouldn't blame him for having second thoughts. After all, they still had so much to learn. But Jungkook believed that together, they would be able to overcome anything. But maybe it was because he relied much on Taehyung. Thinking about it, the elder didn't have anyone to rely on in this relationship. Jungkook didn't think of himself as someone very reliable if he had to be honest. Maybe that was the reason behind Taehyung's hesitation now.
Jungkook stared at his fiancé, wanting to ask him what he meant by that but he couldn't get any words out. The guests as well were quite puzzled with the events unfolding.
Taehyung finally looked up, staring in Jungkook's eyes as he shook his head. "My vows," he clarified. "They seemed so perfect when I spent hours, days and even weeks writing them, but now it just feels stupid."
Jungkook frowned. From the first part he's heard, his speech didn't sound stupid at all.
Taehyung gave him a smile. "It just feels overly formal. I thought it would be good this way, but I want to be sincere with you. I want to really tell you how I feel and I don't want to rely on a speech memorised off a piece of paper to do so. I don't want to let my thoughts speak, I want to speak from my heart. I want to look at you in the eyes," he looked into Jungkook's eyes which were so, so soft and tender with love, "and tell you how much I love you, how much you mean to me."
"Tae..." Jungkook trailed off in a whisper, tears starting to prick his eyes slightly. They were tears of joy, the kind of tears which came from feeling so appreciated, so loved by the person you loved the most.
"My Jungkookie," Taehyung said as he delicately placed a hand on Jungkook's cheek, forgetting all about the vows that he had taken so much time to write. After all, this was something personal and he preferred to pour out his heart rather than reciting by memory.
"I have loved you for so long, yet I feel like my love for you keeps intensifying each day, each hour, each minute and each second. I love you like I've never loved any other. I feel like the luckiest man in the world to have you in front of me right now.
There's so much about you that make you so lovable, yet if I was asked what made me fall in love with you, I wouldn't have an answer to that. There's no specific thing that made me fall in love with you, so for that reason, I would never be able to stop loving you as well. There's nothing that one could take away from you that would make me love you any less."
By now, Jungkook's tears which he had been trying so hard to hold back were freely falling down his cheeks. He never thought anyone would ever love him that way. It always seemed unrealistic to him, but here he was, being told all those loving words by the love of his life.
Taehyung proceeded with his vows after gently caressing the younger's cheek, "I love you so much, for who you were, who you are and who you'll decide to be in the future. And that is my vow, that no matter what happens, I will always, always love you.
I want to be there for you for eternity. I want to be by your side whether you're at your best or your worst. I want to embrace all of you, all of your flaws and imperfections that ironically make you so much more perfect. I want to support you through every stages in life as from now and I want to encourage you in every project that you take on. I just want to keep you happy, to make you happy like you've made me.
And I promise you, baby, that I will strive to do just that. And I promise to never let go of that promise. You're so precious to me, Jeon Jungkook. It's truly an honour for me to become your husband. I feel like the luckiest man alive," he concluded, grinning widely at Jungkook with his head tilted to the side.
Jungkook was now pretty much sobbing. He brought his hands to his face to wipe his tears away but couldn't stop more from pouring down. "Oh my God," he chuckled. "I should've gone first. I don't think I can do better than that or even stop crying."
Taehyung chuckled as well, waiting for Jungkook to stop his tears and start reciting his own vows. Meanwhile, the guests were in quite the same state as Jungkook. A lot of them had taken out their handkerchiefs and several sniffles and sobs could be heard around them.
When Jungkook finally managed to control his emotions and stop his tears - though he knew it would only be momentary - he took in a deep breath while holding Taehyung's hands in his own before beginning to speak.
"Kim Taehyung, I don't think I would have been who I am today if it hadn't been for you. You're the one who gave me confidence, who taught me to be a better person and who made me want to always give my best. I owe so much to you, hyungie."
A small echo of chuckles and coos was heard from the audience when Jungkook said the word "hyungie".
Seokjin then called out a little aloud, "yah pabo! You're getting married and you're still gonna call him hyungie?"
Jungkook let out a short laugh before focusing back on Taehyung. "Hmm that's right. Then should I say... jagi?"
Taehyung blushed and looked down, unable to stop his reddening cheeks and flustered smile. A round of 'ooh' was then heard from the guests, mainly coming from the members and the boys' friends.
"I was going to say something superb next but you all made me forget what I was going to say!" Jungkook exclaimed, placing two fingers against his forehead in frustration and causing the guests as well as Taehyung to crack up.
"Take the entertainer away from the comedy but you can't take the comedy away from the entertainer," Jimin said.
He received a small slap on the head from Hoseok. "Jimin! We're idols, not entertainers!" He reminded with a loud laugh.
"Oh yeah that's right," Jimin laughed while smoothing out his hair.
When everyone finally calmed down, Jungkook went on. "Actually, it was probably not important if I forgot it. The only important thing here is that I love you so much, Kim Taehyung. I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else. Thank you so much for confessing your love to me and proposing because I'm sure I would have never had the courage to do so if you hadn't taken the first step.
In fact, you've always been the one to set things right between us. You've always been the most reliable one of us two but I want to become someone reliable to you too. I want to become someone who you can freely tell your worries to, someone who is strong enough to comfort you at your lowest point, someone who you can lean onto whenever you have difficulties.
That's who you've always been to me and I promise to better myself and become your Taehyung, a reliable and strong person who'll always be there for you.
And I promise to always stay with you and never let anything come in between us. I know I'll never love anything or anyone as much as I love you. You're my brightest star and my most profound galaxy and I'll always treasure you the most, my baby bear."
The guests let out exclamations of "aww" at the last line before they again did so when Jungkook pulled a crying Taehyung into his arms.
"I-I love you so- so much too," Taehyung whispered to him.
After a moment, Jimin called, "okay we get it you love each other, you've said it a bazillion times! Just get married already!"
Everyone laughed again. You really can't expect to have a serious ceremony when it's filled with goofy people!
Shortly after, the ceremony proceeded and Taehyung and Jungkook were at last husbands. They shared a loving kiss under the glowing sunset before they were congratulated by their relatives and friends.
Everyone then made their way to the closest hotel's hall where the reception was organised. A sumptuous feast and a magnificent cake awaited them there.
The hall was beautifully decorated as well and an orchestra played some music with pianos and violins. There was a variety of food at the buffet, ranging from mainly korean to chinese to a little bit of italian even.
After the food and dessert, the newlyweds walked to the front of the room where a stage was placed. There was a cake on top of a fancy table. It was a 4-tier cake. Each layer was square-shaped and each alternating layer were similar.
The cake in itself looked like it was made of velvet from afar. All 4 tiers were covered in white sugar paste, giving that elegant wedding vibe. The last tier as well as the second one were decorated with purple designs which seemed almost imprinted onto the gum paste.
As for the top tier and the third one, they were decorated with purple pearls stuck into the sugar paste as well as a big purple ribbon tied in a pretty bow at the front. White roses made of sugar were also placed at the top and base, as well as the third tier, to enhance the sumptuous look of the cake.
To add to its uniqueness, two figures made of sugar paste were placed standing proudly at the top. They represented the two grooms and were in fact made to look like Taehyung and Jungkook. They were holding hands while facing each other.
Before cutting the cake, Jimin instructed Taehyung and Jungkook to get into the same positions as the figures atop the cake. The two held hands and stared lovingly into each other's eyes while the guests cooed and Hoseok snapped some pictures away.
The cake was then cut by the two grooms under the guests' applause. The inner part of the cake was then revealed to be of a beautiful purple ombre colour, the gradient a smooth one from dark purple to a pastel one while the layers themselves were all uniform. They were each separated by an even layer of cream, giving the inner part of the cake a sophisticated look as well.
After having cut and shared the cake, the other members of the group, Taehyung and Jungkook's families as well as their friends and staff took turns in singing a few songs for the married couple.
As the reception was inching towards its end, Jungkook grabbed a mic and went in front. He started to sing a ballad version of euphoria to Taehyung.
From the first lyrics itself, Taehyung's eyes had already started watering from how touched he felt. Jungkook was not only singing, he meant every word coming out of his mouth and Taehyung knew that.
At the words, "숨이 막힐 듯이 행복해져," Jungkook gave him his brightest and widest bunny smile to convey the meaning of the lyrics better. He truly was so happy, ecstatic even that he was certain nothing else had ever made him or would ever make him this happy.
[Trans: I'm so happy I can't breathe]
Halfway through the song, Taehyung was so absorbed in Jungkook's voice and the boy himself that everything around him seemed to have vaporised. It felt like it was only Jungkook and him at that moment.
The lights dimmed and a spotlight focused on them as Jungkook reached the bridge of the song.
"모래 바닥이 갈라진대도, 그 누가 이 세결 흔들어도, 잡은 손 절대 놓지 말아줘. 제발 꿈에서 깨어나지마..." Jungkook looked at him with utmost sincerity, gazing into his eyes as he sang, addressing the words to Taehyung. He had a small smile on his face which Taehyung returned, assuring him that he would never let go of his hands, of him, no matter what happens.
Trans: Even if the sandy ocean floor splits in two, even if someone shakes up this world, never let go of my hand that you're holding. Please don't wake up from this dream... {A/N: those are actually my fav lyrics btw}
"저기 멀리서 바다가 들려. 꿈을 건너서, 수풀 너머로, 선명해지는 그 곳으로 가..." Taehyung realised how fitting the lyrics were. The song fit the moment perfectly and the two just revelled in that particular instant.
Trans: I hear the ocean from far away. Across the dream, past the woods, I'm going to a place that's getting clearer...
"Take my hands now," he held out his hand for Taehyung to take, which the latter did and looking right into his lover's eyes, Jungkook sang, "you are the cause of my euphoriaaa~ a-aah~ ah a-aahh~~"
Taehyung's tears began cascading down his cheeks, Jungkook smiling at him as he sang the adlibs while moving closer to wipe away his husband's tears. He then proceeded to tenderly grab Taehyung by the head and pulled him towards himself for a hug.
Taehyung held tightly onto Jungkook as the younger finished the song, pecking his husband's head as the music faded. "Euphoria~" he whispered towards the end, a smile adorning his features and his arms wrapping tighter around Taehyung.
"I love you, baby," Jungkook told him after having taken the microphone away from his mouth so that only his Taehyung would hear him.
Around them, the guests were clapping, some becoming emotional at the adorable moment the two lovers had just shared. Taehyung and Jungkook remained in each other's arms as a soft music played. They swayed from side to side while still holding each other.
The lights had dimmed even more so that the spotlight giving out a purple hue was shining on the couple only. After the first dance by Taehyung and Jungkook, more guests joined the dance floor, an upbeat music playing as everyone enjoyed themselves.
After a while, Jungkook tapped Taehyung's arm and whispered to him, "wanna get outta here?" The two had been watching everyone dance on the sidelines since they had been tired. At first, they had been approached by some guests who were congratulating them and initiating small talks but now, some guests had already returned to their hotels since it was getting late while others still danced. The two were thus left alone in a corner in the dark.
Taehyung glanced at Jungkook and smiled, "gladly."
Jungkook grabbed Taehyung's hand and led him out. The two laughed after having managed to successfully sneak out of the reception. They were currently on the beach, walking hand in hand. They had removed their coats and were only in their white shirt and trousers, coats hanging on their free arm.
The beach was lit up by the moon and the stars shining upon them. The two boys felt relaxed, though still unable to believe they were truly married. Taehyung suddenly spotted a brighter light ahead of them. As they approached this source of light, he saw a romantic set up with a table and two chairs placed opposite each other.
3 stand-up lights and 4 lanterns were placed around the round table covered by a white cloth. The chairs were also covered in a similar white cloth with a red ribbon tied in a bow at the back. On the table was a bottle of champagne and two glasses as well as two plates each covered by a cloche.
"Ah! I wonder who left that here! I guess we could use it for ourselves," Jungkook joked, his grin widening further upon seeing Taehyung's awed look.
"Did you- did you prepare this?" He asked his husband, wide eyes filled with sparkles caused by the reflection of the lights.
Jungkook nodded and scratched the back of his head shyly. "I just thought that since you're always the one to do romantic things for us, I wanted to surprise you too. I know it's not much compared to what you do, but I hope you'll still like it."
"Are you kidding?" Taehyung exclaimed as he practically leapt onto Jungkook, engulfing him into a tight hug. "I love it!!"
Jungkook decided to act like a gentleman and pull Taehyung's chair for him to sit, to which the elder chuckled. Jungkook then proceeded to remove the cloche in a very posh way to reveal a beautiful heart-shaped strawberry mousse cake.
It was small and cute with a layer of biscuit at the base and a whole strawberry cut in slices at the top. The middle part was made of a very light mousse and the top layer consisted of a smooth hardened mousse to which more gelatin had been added to give it that specific texture.
Taehyung gasped at the sight. It was the exact copy of the delicacy he had described to Jungkook a few weeks ago. They had been randomly discussing about sweets at night and Taehyung had mentioned that he would love to eat something as such, claiming that it had all his favourite components put together.
To think that Jungkook actually remembered and made it for him was beyond words. He felt so touched at the gesture.
"Wow," he uttered, completely mesmerised. Everything was just so perfect; he had his favourite view - the beautiful view of the beach at night - spread out before him, a cake which he could easily describe as his favourite and most of all, he had his favourite person by his side. What more could he ask for?
(This cake but make it heart-shaped ^)
Jungkook poured some champagne into the glass and served the plate to his husband in a very waiter-like way, one arm bent behind his back while the other placed the plate in front of Taehyung. "Your Highness," he said with a small bow.
Taehyung laughed at the action. "You're my husband, not some waiter in a historical era!" He said, still giggling. Jungkook chuckled before pecking his cheek and going to sit across from him.
"Dig in and tell me what you think of it," he said, gesturing towards the cake. He didn't have to say it twice.
Taehyung inserted his fork into the cake to cut it, before he finally took a bite. He remained expressionless as he ate, Jungkook staring at him with wide expectant eyes. Taehyung maintained the blank look as he stared back at his husband who looked quite nervous.
He wanted to laugh at how anxious Jungkook looked but he held it back. "Tae~" Jungkook whined. "Say something!"
"How about you taste it for yourself?" Taehyung suggested, motioning towards Jungkook's untouched plate.
Jungkook bit his lip gently before taking a bite. He was slightly apprehensive, afraid it turned out bad and that Taehyung didn't like it.
His eyes widened and he hummed in delight as he ate. "It's good!" He exclaimed.
Taehyung chuckled fondly and with a bright grin, he responded, "yep! It's absolutely delicious!"
They kept eating and talking for a while until Taehyung decided to ask, "when did you even do all this? I wasn't expecting it at all!"
"Good then, 'cause it was a surprise!" Jungkook chuckled. He then proceeded to explain, "I actually baked the cake before going to get dressed earlier and then put it in the fridge for it to set. As for the setting, I had gone to take the cake out of the fridge and set everything up while you were dancing with everyone earlier."
"Really? I didn't notice you going anywhere," Taehyung said while tilting his head cutely.
"Well, I might or might not have asked the boys and some of our cousins to keep you busy so you wouldn't notice," admitted the younger.
"Oh! So that's why they prevented me from leaving the dance floor when I said I was tired," Taehyung exclaimed with a chuckle.
After a while more of taking in the peaceful atmosphere and absorbing the memories of their beautiful date, the couple got up to leave. "Let's go," said Jungkook. "There's another surprise."
"What else did you prepare now?" chuckled Taehyung.
"It's actually a surprise for me too this time. Apparently the boys left a surprise for the two of us at our own little hut," said Jungkook as he walked closer to Taehyung to take his hand in his.
The two walked leisurely on the cool sand, bare-feet. "This feels so nice," mused Taehyung as he held tighter onto Jungkook's hand and took in a deep breath of the salty ocean breeze. Jungkook hummed in agreement while leaning forward to place a gentle kiss to Taehyung's cheek.
The two had to walk a little further from the wedding venue as the hut that had been booked for their honeymoon was a different one which was further away from that of the guests, courtesy of the wedding planner, the one and only Park Jimin.
They had been given the directions and once they arrived at the place, they were both in awe. Their room looked like a resort by itself. It was, of course, just a few centimetres above the water and looked extremely luxurious.
It was a private room, secluded from any other hotels, resorts or rooms. It was lit up with candles and soft lights which gave the place a welcoming and cosy look. A king-sized bed was found in their bedroom, red petals of roses forming the letters "JJK KTH" with little hearts all around decorated the white sheets.
Aside from the small door which led inside, there were two more openings in the room. One had no doors and simply opened to a balcony covered by a hay-like roof which gave onto the sea while the other one had huge sliding glass doors.
Taehyung pulled the doors to reveal a swimming pool. It was fairly big and it only had two walls preventing it from mixing with the seawater. At first, it could have seemed stupid to put a swimming pool next to the sea but when Taehyung dipped his foot in, he realised that the pool was heated and hence could be used at night too.
Jungkook joined him outside, finding the sight of Taehyung standing by the pool with the never-ending sea as background absolutely beautiful. He took out his camera from his bag (the other boys had brought in their bags since they would be staying there for the rest of their time in Maldives) and took a few pictures of Taehyung without the latter's knowledge.
Looking to his right, Taehyung noticed a Jacuzzi. It was big enough to hold two people and was filled with water and bubbles over which a heart had been drawn using petals. He chuckled a little at the sight. There were also scented candles lining the tub.
On the wall, he also noticed two matching bathrobes hanging, for him and Jungkook.
(Imagine the tub to be larger so it can hold two grown men comfortably)
"Wanna go for a night swim?" Jungkook asked him, startling Taehyung who had been absorbed in admiring the place.
He agreed and the two instantly went to change out of their shirts and trousers into their swimming shorts. They had fun swimming and playing around in the water until Jungkook decided to grab Taehyung by the waist.
"We're married. We're really married," he whispered to him. Since everything around them was silent except for the gentle crashing of waves against the shore and the breeze blowing softly, Taehyung heard him loud and clear.
"Yes, we are," he grinned back at his husband, looping his arms around his neck. Jungkook proceeded to completely wrap his own arms around Taehyung's waist, bringing him closer so that their bodies were fully pressed to each other.
They started kissing slowly and passionately, the sound of their lips moving against each other being heard loudly in the silence. Since they were floating in the water, Taehyung wrapped his legs around Jungkook's waist, tightening them so he would eliminate any distance between them.
One of Jungkook's hands travelled down to Taehyung's thigh, holding him up while gently caressing it whereas the other moved up and down his back. The delicate strokes caused Taehyung to hum and moan in delight, their kiss turning more and more passionate until they eventually had to break apart for air.
No sooner had they parted that they leaned forward for another kiss, the taste of the other's mouth on their own addicting. Taehyung's hands grabbed Jungkook's wet locks, angling his face to deepen the kiss.
Meanwhile, Jungkook moved both of them to a shallower part of the pool where his feet touched the ground. He walked them to the stairs and got out of the pool with Taehyung in his arms.
He then made his way to the Jacuzzi, entering it while still kissing the elder. "This feels really nice," commented Taehyung after they broke apart. The bubbles and hot water relaxed their tense muscles from the day's wonderful yet tiring events.
"Mhm," Jungkook hummed as he held onto his husband.
Taehyung was now sitting in between Jungkook's legs while leaning his back against his chest. He allowed his head to fall back on the younger's shoulder in order to have a better look at his face.
"You seem deep in thought," remarked Taehyung. "What are you thinking about?"
Jungkook shook his head softly and smiled at him. "Nothing, just thinking about how lucky I am to have you," he said before pecking Taehyung's lips.
"So cheesy," Taehyung laughed.
"But it's true," replied Jungkook before pressing another kiss to his temple.
"I'm so lucky to have you too," Taehyung said after his laughter died down. "I have no idea how all this even happened, how I really travelled back in time or how I even mustered up the courage to confess to you, but I'm glad I did. I'm so glad I did."
Then in a soft whisper, he added, "I love you so much, Jeon-Kim Jungkook."
Jungkook was almost lost staring into his eyes but he didn't fail in responding by capturing his lips between his own. He cupped Taehyung's face with one hand, tenderly stroking his thumb onto his cheek.
Once he pulled away, he said, "I love you just as much, Jeon-Kim Taehyung."
It was true that no one really had an idea about how Taehyung had travelled to the past exactly. They could only make speculations, like the one Yoongi had made which seemed to explain the situation best.
He had said that Taehyung had possibly been so devastated that his emotions became the vortex which pulled him to a past where he could still fix everything. It was highly possible, after all, Taehyung had been almost depressed even.
He recalled having wished that he could go back and tell Jungkook everything, he recalled having cried his eyes out while asking himself why he had never spoken about his feelings to the younger and he recalled how that led to him blaming himself for everything while also wondering whether things would have been different if he had confessed.
What happened after was an absolute roller coaster ride - Taehyung waking up to find himself in another year, having to live everything all over again, unconsciously beginning to alter the course of events and panicking about it and most of all, he became braver and wholeheartedly accepted his feelings for Jungkook.
It was a confusing and overwhelming journey, yet Taehyung was so thankful for it. It brought him to where he was now, it shaped him into who he was now. And he could not be any prouder of the person he had come to be - Jungkook's husband.
He didn't want to understand how this whole thing occured anymore, he was simply grateful for it. And now, snuggling into his Jungkook's arms, he couldn't be any happier.
He liked to believe it was a plan of his guardian angel to give him a second chance. And maybe it really was, who knew?
All of it which allowed the two young lovers' love to burn freely and more passionately than ever, without restraint and limit, could only be said to be a reset.
A beautiful reset.
>>>>>THE END<<<<<
And for me too, writing this book has been such a beautiful journey. I really can't believe this book has ended. It feels just like yesterday that I published the prologue!
This epilogue has taken me so much time to write coz I wanted it to be perfect. I bet I wouldn't have put this much effort in planning my own wedding compared to how I've planned this! Looking for the wedding cake actually took me an eternity!
Like I wanted smth elegant but not too extravagant as it had to fit the vibe I tried projecting for the wedding. I spent actual days going through google just to choose a cake. A cake for a story!!
Overall, I got carried away while writing this epilogue. I mean I guess you can tell from the length. It's actually 7.3K long, which is like 14.6 time more words than the prologue!
And I'm sorry if the vows/love scenes were cringey. I'm not good at those ㅠ.ㅠ Also, the amount of times my dumb self wrote the word 'love' in this chapter- I bet if I count it, it'll add up to at least 24 times💀
I'm sad about ending the book but I'm also so happy that I managed to complete it! It feels like such an achievement and thank you everyone who showed their support to this book! It means so much to me. I always felt so motivated everytime I received votes and comments!
For now, I'm going to sleep. See you tmr! I love you all so much!! ❤❤❤
Pls don't forget to vote on this story for the last time🌟💓
