Lex's POV

I wake up with an enormous headache. I try to sit up but instead I groan in pain. I open my eyes to see I am in a hospital room. Where's Charlie? I think to myself. "Charlie?" I say, fighting the pain to sit up. I look around the room but Charlie is nowhere to be found. I look around my bed in search of a remote. "Ah, here it is," I say quietly. I click on the 'Call Nurse ' button and wait.

A few moments later, a middle-aged lady walks into my room. "It's good to see that you've finally woken up, Alexis," the nurse tells me. "How you feeling?" she asks. "Not too great actually. My tummy hurts, My head hurts and- hey, what happened to my leg?" I ask looking at the large cast around it. "I'll call the doctor. He can tell you exactly what's going on," the nurse says. As she's about to leave, I stop her. "Is my brother okay? His name is Charlie Gillespie," I ask. The nurse lightly smiles. "You're brother is fine. I believe he has a broken right arm and a very minor concussion. He was actually asking for you earlier. Would you like me to bring him to you?" She asks. "Yes, please," I say politely.

A few moments later, the nurse comes back with Charlie in a wheelchair. His arm is in a sling and he has a few cuts and bruises. "Lex, thank god you're awake," He says trying to stand up. The nurse helps him and leads him to my bed. I scooch over, making room for Charlie to sit next to me. "How'd that happen to your arm?" I ask him. "Thanks, Lex, I'm glad I'm okay too," Charlie says sarcastically. "Sorry," I apologize looking down. "I tried to protect you," Charlie answers. "You wouldn't move so I wrapped my arm around you to protect your head. Unfortunately, the car hit pretty hard. You don't remember?" He asks. I shake my head no.

Just then a tall man with a white coat walks in. "Hey, Alexis. I'm Dr. Hahn. I performed surgery on your leg and ribs today," he says, pointing to my leg. "What exactly happened to me?" I ask him. He clears his throat and sits on the chair by my bedside. "You had 2 broken ribs. They'll be pretty bruised for a couple of weeks but should heal on their own now. Your right leg has suffered from a traumatic break. The paramedics say it got caught somewhere in the accident. Fortunately, it only affected your leg from the knee, down. You also have a minor concussion but that'll go away in a couple of weeks as well," The doctor finishes. "So you fixed my leg and my ribs?" I ask for clarification. "Yes," Dr. Hahn says. "You might notice that they are a little swollen but that's normal. Again your bruising will only last a couple of weeks," he finishes.

"Excuse me Dr. Hahn but do you know anything about our buddies, Owen Joyner and Jeremy Shada? They were also in the car." Charlie asks. "According to my sources, Owen is fine. He's only got some little cuts and bruises. Jeremy on the other hand has a mild concussion. He did suffer from a dislocated shoulder, but one of the other doctors fixed that for him. His arm will be in a sling for a couple days," Dr. Hahn replies. "Alexis, you and your friend Jeremy were injured the most in the crash. This is because the car hit your side. Due to that, we're going to keep you here for the night, just for observation," He says. I nod my head to show that I understand.

"Can we see them?" I ask. Dr. Hahn replies, "Of Course. Can you get another wheelchair please?" The nurse nods her head. While waiting, Charlie lifts himself up and tries his best to get onto his wheelchair. "How bad are you hurting on a scale of 1-10?" I ask Charlie. "Maybe 5? It's just my arm, Lex. I'm fine," he answers. The nurse comes back with a wheelchair and helps me get on it. "Try not to move your leg, hon," the nurse tells me. I do as I was told and eventually get in the wheelchair. "You okay?" Charlie asks. "I'm tough Charlie. It's just a couple of boo-boos," I say with a weak smile. Charlie laughs and shakes his head. "How can you act completely fine after just hearing you have a concussion, two broken ribs, and a broken leg?" Charlie questions. "I guess I'm just cool like that, " I shrug.

Two nurses push Charlie and I down a number of hallways until we make it to Jeremy's room. Owen sits by Jer's bedside and holds a conversation with him. Jeremy sees Charlie and I roll in and shows Owen. "Oh my God. You guys are okay," Owen sighs. "Okay? Lex broke 2 ribs and her leg plus she has a concussion," Charlie explains. "I'm okay, Charlie. Dr. Hahn said he fixed me," I argue. "How you holding up Jer?" I ask. Jeremy try's to shrug but groans in pain. "That hurt," he says holding his shoulder.
