The sound of my heart beating in my chest echoes in my ears. Goosebumps form on my skin as the cold wind brushes past, touching me with its cold fingers.

My stomach twists with nerves as I slowly push my window further open.

I have done this so many times but I still get nervous. If even one person sees me I'm done for.

Once my window is opened to the maximum I push myself up and after doing some mental calculation wiggle my way out. My calculations were dead on and my feet landed on the thick pipe that I use as a rope.

I close the window, only leaving a slight crack to help me get in later. Gripping the pipe with all my might I climb down to the ground waiting below.

Four didn't come to pick me up so I ran to the compound by myself.

Did he not come to pick me up because he regretted what he said last night?

Or was he still suffering from his major hangover as Tori put it?

I hope it is the second one.

I open the trap door and make my way down the long flight of stairs. The trap door swings shut behind me trapping me in darkness.

The gym room reeks of dried sweat and some blood from the fighting tournament that happened this morning. I would have loved to see that but I had to give clothing to the Factionless.

Four is leaning against a table, massaging his temples with his fingers.

"Hi." I said.

He jumps slightly then looks up at me.

"Didn't hear you come in."

I chuckle.

"How's your hangover?" I ask.

"I slept most of it off, the pain pill I took earlier should knock the rest of it out. "

"That's good to hear."

He nervously chuckles.

"Hey um...I didn't...um...I didn't say or do anything I shouldn't have last night did I?"

I ponder the option of telling him what he said to me just to see his reaction. But the fear that he would completely regret it and our finally stable friendship will crumble takes over.

"Nope." I shake my head.

He sighs with relief.

"Good," He flashes a small smile," Anyway let's go there are lots of targets that are waiting for bullets. "

"Why don't we do fear simulations?" I ask.

My question makes him stiffen and silence falls over the room. He taps his finger to his chin.

"Where did you hear about those?"

"Christina, apparently they do them in Dauntless. "

He nods his head a few times.

"They believe that having their initiates go face to face with their deepest fears it will somehow make them fearless or at least less afraid. "

"That sounds stupid I mean how can doing that make someone fearless,  nobody can be fearless. "

"I agree, but just remember we aren't exactly talking about the smartest faction here."

"That's kinda harsh considering you have friends there."

"You've met my friends do they seem like geniuses to you?"

I shrug.

"Good point."
