I swung my leg over the edge of the window, I hoped that this wouldn't hurt as much as I thought it was especially considering the open wounds that I had just bandaged. I heard footsteps coming up the steps. My eyes widened in fear and I hurriedly threw myself out of the window. I landed hard, pain spreading throughout my right ankle. I ignored it, adrenaline pumping through my veins, and ran as fast as my legs would take me.

days later . . .

I had finally made it to the airport, for the past few days, I've hitched rides with others and I had made sure to change into clean, unbloodied clothes, so the people I went with wouldn't be afraid. I turned to the elderly couple, who brought me the rest of the way to the airport and bowed to them.

"Thank you so much," I stood up straight and smiled at them.

The woman looked at me, "No problem sweety, I hope you reach wherever you going safely."

I smiled one last time and waved at them before turning and entering the airport. I made my way over to one of the desks, dodging the swinging bags and people rushing to be wherever they needed to be. I reached the desk and waited in the small line to get my ticket.

I reached the front and she looked at me with mild disgust, I knew I was dirty but thought that it wouldn't have mattered. She continued to stare at me while I looked at the times of the flights and their prices, I saw one that flew to Surrey, in London, I smiled seeing that it was within the next 3 hours. The price seemed good, I know I should have enough money for that flight.

I looked at the lady at the desk, "Could I have a ticket to Surrey, London please," I asked politely.

She continued to give me looks, "Do you have everything you need? Like money, and a passport? Where are your parents?"

The disgust was clear in her voice, I looked her dead in the eyes, "I need a ticket to Surrey, London."

I placed the money on the counter and waited, she rolled her eyes but grabbed the money none the less. It took her a minute before she gave me the ticket, I looked over it before quietly thanking her and leaving with my ticket. I looked for the gate number, it took me a bit to find it but I found it. I had a good 2 hours to do whatever I needed to do and get what I needed to get, but I only had a few hundred yen left. I had heard things about planes when I was younger and knew that they should have plane food and some water and a bathroom on the plane. I didn't really need anything before getting on the plane.

2 hour time skip

I looked at the time and rushed to my gate, wincing as I put pressure onto my right foot. I hadn't had time to take care of it or wrap it seeing as I was trying to get out of Japan as soon as possible. I reached the gate and went through the procedures needed to get onto the plane. I showed them my passport along with my ticket and they allowed me in. I walked to find my seat, once I found it, I found that I was lucky enough to get a window seat.

The only unlucky thing that happened to me was that I was seated next to a small child who began to scream as soon as he was buckled into his seat. The mother looked at me apologetically and went to her seat, I looked over at him and saw that he was full-on sobbing at this point. I sighed, it was either I had to complain, which I refused to do, or I try to cheer him up. I went with the second option.

I shifted so I was facing him more, he seemed no older than 3 years old, he might have just been scared, "Hey," I said in a soft voice, "are you okay?"

He looked at me and his crying seemed to go down, "Y-yeah I'm oka-y," he said shakily, "it's mah-my first ti-ime on a pla-ane and it seems scary."
