32 - The Beginning, Or The End?

                                    

                                          
Taehyung was feeling anxious. He was having an uneasy feeling throughout the day without having any valid reason for the same. Kookie went to the town to buy something and Taehyung has been beating himself for not accompanying him. 
                          
It was not unusual for Kookie to go alone but Taehyung can't seem to shake out this dreadful feeling like something bad might happen.
                          
He picked up his phone and dialed Kookie's number for what must be the 10th time today. Kookie answered after few rings.
                          
"Hey, are you done yet?" Taehyung asked in an impatient voice and Kookie gave a soft laugh at that.
                          
"No not yet. Tae, you have called me for about ten times now. I didn't think you would miss me this much." Kookie said in a teasing voice.
                          
Taehyung sighed in response. He knows he's being ridiculous but he just couldn't ignore his uneasy feeling.
                          
"Just come home quickly, please..." Taehyung said again and Kookie immediately lost his playfulness. 
                          
"Tae, what's wrong?"
                          
"Nothing. Just finish you're work and come back soon."
                          
"Sure, I'll be back in about an hour. Are you sure you're ok?"
                          
"Y-yeah... Guess I really miss you." 
                          
Taehyung felt little better knowing that Kookie is ok. He looked at the clock. It was just past 3.30 in the afternoon so that means Kookie will be back by 4.30pm. Taehyung sat on the sofa and he settled to wait till Kookie.

It was past 8.00 pm but Kookie hasn't come home yet. He called Kookie's phone for many times but it was off. He called Jin, Namjoon and even few of the shops in town. But no one had any idea about where Kookie was. 
                          
Jin came to Taehyung's house at around 10.00pm while Namjoon went to look around a town a bit. He came back just around midnight with no news of Kookie. Taehyung was close to crying by now. He wasn't sure why he's not crying yet, guess he's just too shocked. 
                          
Namjoon had informed the local police station too but they had to wait for 24 hours to make a formal complaint. But Namjoon had a friend there so he agreed to keep a look out for any accidents or things like that.
                          
Taehyung broke down when Namjoon mentioned accidents as his mind immediately went to the worst case scenario. Jin gave a reproaching look to his husband as he pulled Taehyung in to his embrace.
                          
They stayed awake throughout the night waiting for Kookie to come home or for a call to say where he is. But when a call came in the morning, it was just the thing they all were worried about.
                          
Taehyung's phone rang around 8.00am in the morning and he feebly checked his phone and answered.
                          
"I'm sorry Hoseok but this is not a good time-"
                          
"Kookie is in the hospital!" Hoseok's yelled to the phone, cutting Taehyung's words. 
                          
Taehyung leapt out from the sofa, startling half asleep Jin.
                          
"Which hospital?!" Taehyung yelled back, his heart clenched in fear. "Please stay with him Hobi, I'm on my way."
                          
Taehyung looked around at his hyung and saw that both of them are already on their feet and ready to go.
                          
They took Namjoon's car because Taehyung seemed too distracted to drive. He sat at the back with Jin who was silently supporting him by holding his hand. They reached the hospital in two towns over in record time and Hoseok was waiting for them at the emergency unit.
                          
"Hobi!!" Taehyung yelled when they saw Hoseok and the latter walked forward to meet them halfway. "What happed? Where's Kookie?"
                          
"He's inside, they have taken him to do a head scan or something. They said he's in a coma." Hoseok explained while looking at their faces in turns.
                          
Taehyung fell on to a visitors chair and covered his face with his hands. His whole frame shook with the force of his silent sobs.
                          
"How did you?" Namjoon asked from Hoseok who immediately answered. 
                          
"My girlfriend is a nurse here and I gave her a lift to the hospital for her morning shift today. As we walked to her unit, I saw Kookie being taken in a stretcher. I recognized him and followed him here. My girlfriend just went to check on his status." 
                          
There was a silent for few minutes which was then broken by a female voice.
                          
"Hobi!" A beautiful girl walked towards Hoseok who raised his hand in welcome.
                          
"Hanna, they are Kookie's family." Hoseok introduced the others and the girl gave a smile in return. 
                          
"How is he?" Taehyung asked in a shaky voice and the girl gave him a reassuring smile.
                          
"He's still in a coma but his vitals are good. He doesn't have any internal or external wounds either. The doctors are waiting for one more report to come and they will pull him out of coma medically." The girl, hanna, explained in a gentle voice. 
                          
"Do we know what happened to him?" It was Jin who asked the question his time.
                          
"Yeah. The guy who admitted him have said that he fainted in front of his car. The guy had taken a turn little fast and Kookie was crossing the road. The car was stopped about few feet away and then Kookie had suddenly fainted. He seemed to be telling the truth because Kookie doesn't have any wounds on his body."

They had to wait for about one hour for a doctor to come and explain the situation. Since all the reports seem to be ok, they will be trying to bring Kookie out of his coma status.
                          
Kookie woke up after about another 2 hours and Taehyung and others were permitted to see him after he got transferred to a room. They all went in when the doctor came out. 
                          
There was a nurse who seemed to be filling an information form, probably for his admission to the hospital. She was asking questions for Kookie to answer.
                          
"Name?"
                          
"Jeon Jungkook."
                          
"Date of birth?" 
                          
Taehyung walked forward to talk to the nurse and explain her that Kookie doesn't know that since he is suffering from a memory loss but Kookie answered confidently, making him stop in his tracks.
                          
"September 1st, 1995."
                          
"Any allergies to medicine."
                          
"No."
                          
"Any past surgeries?"
                          
Taehyung watched in surprise as Kookie gave details about a appendix surgery that was done when he was 17 years old. It doesn't need a genius to realize what has happened.
                          
Kookie has regained his memory.
