Kelo is three years older than me, and it's crazy how well we get along.

"Thanks, I have my mom to thank for that."

He smiles. "I like knowing you even just for a little bit."

"Yeah." I say with a smile as I get out of his car.

"Take care."

"You too." I say with a wave.

He nods and drives away. Once he's gone, I head inside and greet Derrick, who is eating cereal on the island area of the kitchen.

"Who was the guy?" He asks the minuet I walk in.

"Are you spying on me?" I ask with an annoyed look on my face.

"Hello! I need to know who kept you away from home all night long."

I wave him off in dismissal. "I need a shower."

He huffs loudly. "Kai, you can't avoid the topic forever."

"If you have coffee and painkillers ready when I get out, I might consider telling you everything!" I yell as I head upstairs to my room.

"You better!" He yells back.

I take a quick shower, get ready, and head downstairs.

Derrick is already waiting with a cup of coffee and another on the other end of the table for me with two pills.

I have been debating in the shower if I should keep everything to myself or share it with Derrick.

I don't doubt him with my secrets, I just don't know how he will react.

I sit on the chair, pop the pills, and take a long sip of the coffee before I say anything.

I then begin to tell Derrick how I ran into Kelo and that he is a friend of the guys.

I also told him about the party and how Abel acted.

"Abel changed. He thinks he's too good now." He says, shaking his head.

"I don't care anymore." I say.

Derrick looks at me for a long second. "You say that, but we both know it's not true."

He's right, and I hate that.

I sigh. "Well, it doesn't matter. The only thing that came out of his mouth last night is why are you here? He doesn't care, so why should I?" I ask.

"Is that all it is? I feel like there's something you're not telling me." Derrick says to me.

It's crazy how well he can read me.

I hesitate for a second, but I finally tell him.

"I had sex with La Mar." I say.

Derrick eyes widen. "You what?"

"I know, it was dumb to think he actually liked me. He was with some girl at the party last night."

Derrick is still shocked about what I told him. "Wait! When did you two do it.?"

"The night before the party. Why does that matter?" I ask as I finish up my coffee.

He looks at me funny without saying anything.

"What?" I ask.

"You used protection, right?"

"Well." I speak.

Derrick eyes go wide. "Kairi, are you crazy?"

"I know it was stupid, but it was too late when we both realized. I had to take the after pill."
